Chapter 7-When all else fails
The winter spider moved gracefully through the hallways. A predator stalking his prey. The Avengers would pay for what they did to Hydra. He froze when he heard voices coming from the hallway and listened carefully to their conversation.
"He must be in here somewhere" A lady said. She sounded serious from what he knew it was probably the black widow. Definitely dangerous.
"Do you think he's with Wanda?" A man asked. The winter spider peaked around the corner and saw black widow-his guess was correct-and a man with a bow and arrow. Clint. It was then that the voices registered in his mind. Wanda they were going to get Wanda.
Moving quickly and quietly he made it back to the door where his sister was and stood with his back flat against it. If he went in he wouldn't see what was happening outside so this way he could guard the girl and keep an eye out.
No one came for a few minutes and the Winter Spider wondered if the avengers had just given up. Hopefully they did, something about them made him feel off. Unfortunately, a loud noise came from the corner and the winter spider got into a defensive position. Pressing his back even further against the door.
Iron man came hurling around the corner at the same time Winter Spider shot a web directly at the face mask. It slid right off not doing any damage.
"It's me kid. Same team, did you see what I did there? After the incident with you me, and the webs a few months ago I upgraded my armor to be web-proof. Kid?" Iron man rambled. Trying to distract the winter spider wasn't going to be that easy.
Peter jumped and landed a kick right in the center of iron mans chest sending him flying backwards into the wall. The man's face plate lifted up revealing a shocked man. Ironman-Tony-stepped out of the suit.
"peter?" The man asked. The winter spider didn't like being called that and growled at the man before lunging at him. His back was still to the door and Tony must of noticed because he started to change his focus from Peter to the door.
"No!" Winter Spider yelled lunging at ironman as he held up his repulsors to shoot it down. It ended up being shot up instead and the ceiling crumbled. A muffled yell could be heard from inside the room. "Wanda!"
With no hesitation Winter Spider ran into the room and picked up Wanda bridal style and away from the Avengers. She was light and her hair blew gently with the breeze.
"Peter? What's going on" The girl asked confusement written on her face. "I heard the Avengers"
"They came to destroy hydra. That can't happen" The winter Spider said a glazed look in his eyes. A red magic began to swirl around him and a wave of dizziness hit him. "No stop that"
But it was too late and the world went black.
When he woke up a few hours later he didn't have a clue where he was. He recognized bits and pieces but not much else. He glanced around looking for something that was familiar and found nothing. He didn't think he was with Hydra anymore. He also noticed he was in a glass box. Running up to it he tried to break his way out. Nothing happened. Well, his shoulder made a loud popping noise at it dislocated and he cried out in pain.
"Peter!" A man cried running up to the box. There were tears streaming down the teens face and he looked about as confused as ever.
"I- I don't know you" Winter spider-since that is what he liked to go by now-said. He banged on the walls with his good arm but still, nothing happened.
"Calm down buddy" The man says gently, and for some reason this man brings a sort of comfort to the boy. He snaps out of it quickly when the Winter Soldier walks into the room.
"Winter Soldier" The teen says standing up a little straighter tears forgotten by the excitement of seeing him. He was the start of all of this, well, second to Captain America of course. He watched the man flinch at the name and he tilts his head in confusion. "Hydra talks about you a lot. Tells me I should live up to you, and you did good things, like a superhero"
"kid.." He says slowly walking up to the glass and looking at the Winter Spiders arm. The Winter Spider noticed and quickly popped in back into place with nothing but a short gasp.
A/N: With labor day and all that jazz I totally forgot that today was Wednesday. Its so hard to keep up with school and everything but I think I'm doing okay. Commitment has never been my thing, anyway sorry this chapter is so short and has probably a lot of errors.
