Ruby smirks to herself as she walks around randomly, looking for the Blue Blur.

"You look lost?" Sonic suddenly appears in front of her with a smile

Ruby jumps in surprise, "Oh Sonic, just who I was looking for!" She smiles... But now that she's here she's feeling bashful.

"Really?" he raises an eyebrow in surprise "Well what can i do for you?"

"Uh..." She looks to the side awkwardly while pressing the tips of her fingers together adorably.

"Weeeeell what is it?" Sonic crosses his arms.

"Well... Um... Could you...? Oh boy," she bows her head with her cheeks red like roses.

"Could I what?" Sonic sighs.

Ruby cringes, "Would you go out with me please?"

Sonic blinks "What..?"

Ruby looks up at him bashfully, "...Please go out with me?"

"As in...a date?!" His eyes widen.

She cringes, "Y-yes...? I mean, I get if you say no, I just..." She lets out a mortified moan.

"But...why me?!"

She chews her lip, "Well... Out of everyone I know you... You seemed like the best guy for my first date..."

Sonic's expression softens "Do you even...like me? Or are you just another fangirl?"

Ruby smiles shyly, "Well to be perfectly honest I don't even know you. Isn't that the point of dating though?"

"well yeah but...are you sure?" Sonic scratches his head "You think Amy would be okay?"

Ruby nods, "I think she's happy with Shadow..." She clears her throat, and extends her hand, "I'm Ruby, nice to meet you.

"Sonic.." He nods, and shakes her hand. "This is weird.. where i come from everybody already knows who I am..."

Ruby wets her lips as she folds her hands behind her back, "So... What do you wanna do? I mean there's a birthday party right now, but after...?"

"Go get chilidogs?" Sonic grins "You had em before?"

Ruby thinks about it, "...Not really now that I think about it."

"You're really missing out! How about we go later?"

Ruby nods, "Sure thing! So you're famous?"

"You bet I am!" Sonic smirks "Everyone loves me."

Ruby smiles, "So are you a hero?"

"Yup! I've saved the world on numerous occasions..."

Ruby starts walking, "Cool! My sister, and I want to help people too, that's why we're training to be Huntresses."

"Cool! And what are they?" Sonic asks.

Ruby looks out the window, "Our world is filled with monsters called Creatures of Grimm. A Huntsmen's job is to protect the people by killing these monsters, and taking on threats too large for the normal police."

She takes Crescent Rose off her back, and hugs it without unfolding it, "That's why I have my sweetheart here."

"Eh...what IS that?"

Ruby chuckles, and unfolds her weapon into its scythe form, putting it over her shoulder, "Crescent Rose, I made it. What do you use?"

Sonic blinks "I use me..."

"Oh, hand to hand like Yang?"

"I guess you could say that," He smirks "Shadow uses guns though."

"Cooooool," she says as she puts her weapon away. "So what was that fuss we heard earlier all about? Blake could hear it from the dorms."

"Oh...nothing..." Sonic sulks, his good mood instantly gone. "Shadow being a jackass."

Ruby pats his shoulder, "Don't let it get to you. What'd he do this time?"

"He's dating Amy, that's what!"

Ruby blinks, the significance of this lost on her.

Sonic sighs "Amy was...my...fan.."

"So... He basically stole her from you?"

"I guess..." He grumps "I was the one she wanted...not HIM!"

Ruby makes a face, "So now you're upset she's trying to be happy with someone else? No offence, but that DOES make you sound like a little bit of a jerk."

Sonic glares at her "I'm not a jerk!"

"Well if you're her friend then isn't her being happy good enough?"

"I...I don't know...it's weird not having her around."

Ruby smiles, "Sonic, it's not like going out with Shadow means she's moving away to the other side of the world. She's still your friend, right? Or do you really hate Shadow so much you'd stop being her friend now?"

"I don't...HATE Shadow...we're rivals...but everyone knows he's very reserved. For him to openly show feelings like this means the world is ending..." Sonic sighs heavily.

Ruby laughs, bending over a bit for a second, "Oh don't be so dramatic. It just shows that he's changing, doesn't it?"

"I guess...but is that really a GOOD thing?"

"If he's opening up then yeah, I'd think so."

Sonic sighs "I've yet to be convinced. Anyway...as long as he doesn't do anything to Amy then there's nothing I can do I guess."

Ruby nods, "Well since it's his birthday we can give him the benefit of the doubt for a day, right?"

"Fine..." He groans, "But enough talk about SHADOW..."

Ruby nods, "Okay! So you're a hero, that means you've been on some awesome adventures right?"

"You betcha!" He smirks proudly "Egghead doesn't stand a chance against me!"

Ruby makes fists under her chin, "Do tell!"

"Well there was the many times Amy got kidnapped...and let me tell you, it was a lot! But honestly, Egghead has NOTHING on any of us!"

Ruby giggles, "I bet. I honestly can't see him doing much harm to begin with."

Sonic smirks "Nah, he tries, but fails every time. My speed far outclasses that stupid brain of his! You should come with us sometime!"

Ruby nods, "Awesome! Wanna hear about our initiation to the academy while we see if the cafeteria has chilidogs?"

"Sure!" He grins "Sounds good to me!"

She smiles, and takes off in a red blur, leaving Rose petals in the air behind her. Sonic blinks "Woah...she's almost as fast as me...almost." He smirks, and chases after her.

Ruby winks at him, cheekily sticking her tongue out as she turns a sharp corner, skidding to a stop by the kitchen door. Sonic comes to a stop beside her with a smirk "You're faster than you look.."

"Thanks," she says as they head into the kitchen, "You're not exactly slow yourself."

Sonic laughs "I hope so, considering my name and all!"

"Sonic-OH! Okay, I just got that," she says with a blush.

Sonic smirks "You're pretty cute when you blush..."

That makes her blush deeper, and squeeze her eyes shut as she throws open the cabinet.

"WAH!" she tumbles back as cans fall over on her, burying her.

Sonic chuckles as he helps her up "You okay?"

She nods as the swirls in her eyes fades, and one last can bounces off her head. she catches it while she rubs her head, and reads the label. "Well at least we know they have chili..."

Sonic sighs in relief "Good! I was worried this place would have even heard of chilidogs..."

She looks around, and reaches for a refrigerator handle. then she pauses, "Uh... you wanna look for the hotdogs?"

Sonic smirks, and walks over to her, placing his hand on the handle and opening the door "Fine... if you're too scared..."

She flinches, and then opens one eye when nothing jumps out at her. Then she heaves a sigh of relief. "Good, okay I think the bread is over here..." she heads for the pantry.

"Are you too scared to open that too?" He grins.

She sticks her tongue out at him, and opens it. Luckily this time nothing falls. "How many are we looking to make?"

Sonic shrugs "As many as you like...but just know I have a huge appetite."

She smiles, "Me too!" She grabs a few packages of buns.

Sonic raises his eyebrow "Really? That's surprising for such a small girl.."

"Must be the speed thing," she reasons. "We burn calories fast- OMIGOSH, COOKIES!" She stares at a nearby jar, and hugs it.

Sonic chuckles "And your focus changes fast too by the looks of things. I hope you plan on sharing..."

She eyes the glass jar, and then looks at him. Slowly with a tear in her eye, and an adorable blush she holds the jar out to him.

Sonic laughs and gently pushes it back towards her "I was joking..."

She perks, and immediately puts a cookie in her mouth.

Sonic smiles "You seem like you're enjoying that .."

She nods, "uh-orse!"

"Why don't you take some back for the rest of your team?"

She hugs the jar protectively, and swallows.

"Or maybe not..." He chuckles.

She sets the jar down, and helps set up stuff to make the chilidogs, "So anyways, to get into this school you have to pass initiation. Ours was up on a cliff..."

She tells him the story as they boils the hotdogs, and set everything up. by the time they have a full platter of chilidogs Ruby is almost done.

"...So then Adam slices the Nightcrawler, it turns into a flurry of leaves, and all my big sis Yang can think to say is, 'Well, that was a thing.'"

Sonic raises his eyebrow "Sounds pretty awesome! So how exactly do you all know each other?"

"Well we all just met by chance I guess," Ruby replies.

"I see..." He nods "And now you've made friends for life, right?"

She nods, "Yup!" She picks up one chilidog, and takes a bite. Her eyes bulge, "Yum!"

Sonic grins "Exactly. No other words are needed." He picks up one for himself and starts to munch. "Perfection!"

She bumps playfully him with a shoulder as she sits on a counter top to eat. Sonic finishes half the plate and, tempted to eat more, offers the rest to Ruby. "It's only fair.."

She smiles, and takes another... then another... then another, pigging out in a very unladylike fashion.

Sonic grins widely "Now THAT'S my kind of girl!"

She pauses, a bit of chili on her face, and she looks away with a blush, "R-really now?"

"Yep!" He laughs "Someone like Weiss I could never date.."

She smiles thinly, "I know she can be difficult, but she's good at heart. That's all that matters."

"I guess so...but she seems very controlling...and I don't like to be controlled. I am my own man, y'know?"

Ruby smiles, "Sounds like you have a good time."

"Oh I do!" He smirks "I've been to places others can only dream of...all thanks to my super speed! I hate being still for too long."

She tilts her head thoughtfully as she eats the last one.

"Maybe someday...I could take you..."

She nods as she wipes her face off with a napkin, "Sounds like fun!"

"Great! Back on Mobius there are some great places...but...it all depends if we can get there..."

Ruby slides to the floor, "Well it's not like this world doesn't have its great views. You could explore here until then."

"I guess so," He shrugs "Besides, should be relatively quiet I think...with the exception of those huge monster things..."

She smiles, crossing her arms, "Well at least they're actually dangerous."

"True...Eggman isn't even in the same LEAGUE as them! I wonder what he's gonna come up with next..."

"Something to keep us on our toes," she says... Then she starts poking her fingertips together again.

"That's true! I enjoy the thrill!" He winks, and frowns "Something wrong?"

"Well... Did we just... Have a date? I'm new to this so I'm not sure if it counts..."

Sonic blinks "Uhhh..I've never really dated before. But...we had food...we chatted about ourselves and got to know each other...we had fun...yeah...I'd say it was."

She looks up at him with a smile, "...It was nice."

"Yeah," He smirks "Now I gotta dash...see ya!" Sonic swiftly pecks her cheek and blurs out of sight faster than she can blink.

Which she does... Twice... And then she dashes off to find Weiss.

"RUBY!" Weiss yells, stood behind her with her hands on her hips "Where have you BEEN, you dolt!"

Ruby hugs her, "You will NEVER believe it! He actually kissed me!"

Weiss frowns "HE WHAT!? HE CAN'T KISS YOU YET!" She hugs the other girl tightly "Want me to go kick his ass..."

"No!" Ruby giggles to herself, "And he was so sweet! He wants to take me on a tour of his world, and he pecked me right in the cheek!"

"Why'd he do that? And how the hell are you going to GET to his world?!"

"Don't swear details Weiss, the fact he OFFERED means he's into me!"

"How do you know he's not just being friendly? Or luring your innocent, childish, naive self into a DEATH TRAP! NO! You're not going! In fact, I'm going to tell Yang!"

"Tell me what?" Yang walks up.

Ruby giggles, "I just had my first date!"

"AND HE KISSED HER!" Weiss shrieks "And he's apparently planning on taking her to his world, no doubt so he can molest her!"

"He kissed me on the CHEEK," Ruby defends.

Yang puts up her hands, "Woah woah, who are we talking about here?"

"That idiot who came here from the other side! Sonic, or whatever his name is!" Weiss sighs

Yang smiles, "Oh, well that's okay then."

"WHAT?! WHY is it!"

"Weiss, do you listen to anything the others say? Sonic is the main hero in their world, he wouldn't try anything."

"But he's a GUY!" Weiss sighs "What if he does...Ruby is...she's naive Yang...I don't want to see her defiled by a stupid boy!"

"Oh don't get me wrong Weiss, I'll still feed him his balls if her hurts her, but I don't think I'll have to."

"Well it doesn't hurt to be on guard...just in case..." Weiss takes Ruby's shoulders and looks her in the eye "Now listen to me...don't you DARE let him force you to do anything...understand?"

Ruby nods, "Of course! And now this means we can double-date!"

Weiss blinks "...Double date?"

"Yeah! You, me, Spike, and Sonic can all go out together now!"

"But...why?"

"So you're not as nervous," Ruby replies. "Also... I admit I'm kinda nervous too."

"Aw you two are so cute!" Yang picks one of them up each in a one-armed hug.

Ruby squirms, "Hey knock it off!"

"Yang...Ruby...I am not FIVE!" Weiss deadpans "Jeez..."

Yang drops Weiss as the two sisters vanish behind a cartoon fighting cloud of dust.

The heiress rolls her eyes and places her hands on her hips "Are you two done being childish!"

They stop with Ruby holding Yang's bare foot, and tickling it. Weiss sighs "You two...I'm beginning to think Blake and I are the only sane ones in the team..."

Ruby drops her foot, "So how about it Weiss?"

Suddenly Weiss's communicator to her father goes off.

"One second..." Weiss frowns, and answers "Father? It's great to hear from you!"

"Hello Weiss... how are you?"

"Great now that you've called!" She smiles "I miss you! When can I see you again?"

"Rather soon... I'm afraid I have rather bad news."

"Father?" She whispers, frowning "Wh-what's going on? Are you okay?"

"No Weiss... I don't believe I am..."
