JJ tried buzzing into Emily's apartment for the third time that day with no luck.
Finally someone else let her in so she rushed up to Emily's and knocked on the door.
No answer.
"Em, cmon it's just me," JJ said and knocked again.
No answer.
JJ pulled out her phone and tried calling the brunette.
No answer.
She tried calling again and this time she could hear Emily's phone going off on the other side of the door.
"Emily either open the door right now, or I'm going to let myself in," JJ called.
Prentiss gave her a spare key incase of emergencies.
After another minute of nothing, JJ let herself in.
"Emily," she called and looked around.
Prentiss' phone was on the island right when you walk in but no sign of Emily. JJ slowly made her way to the brunettes bedroom and what she saw made her gasped. Instantly she pulled out her gun and cleared the rest of the apartment. Then she called Hotch to tell him what she found.
Within the next ten minutes all the members of the team were in Emily's room surrounding the pool of blood that was next to Prentiss' bed. There were drag marks which led to the doorway and then they ended.
"It's too much blood. She couldn't have survived-" Garcia started to say and break down.
"What if it's not hers," Morgan asked.
"Her gun is missing a few rounds. Maybe she shot the unsub and its their blood, and not hers." He added.
"She wouldn't just up and leave without telling us," JJ said.
"Maybe it was against her will," Reid offered.
"Who would do this? Why would they want Emily?" Garcia asked.
"It could be the same person who took Sophia," Hotch said and looked around at his team.
Back in Ireland...
Emily looked from Doyle and then to her daughter.
"I don't understand," she said.
"Come inside. I'll explain everything and Eliza will get you something to eat. I'm sure you're starving," Ian said. With the help of Declan, Emily made her way into the house.
"Ian, how could you afford all this?" She asked as she took a seat in the living room.
"You have your secrets and I have mine," Doyle told her.
Declan took a seat next to Emily and smiled at her. She smiled back and said, "I can't believe you're all grown up! I haven't seen you in so long."
Then she looked over at Sophia and was about to say something, but the girl cut her off and said,
"I'll go help Eliza in the kitchen."
She quickly left the room.
"She still hates me doesn't she?" Emily asked.
"She'll come around," Declan said and got up and followed his sister into the kitchen.
"So, are you going to tell me what the hell is going on?" Prentiss asked Ian.
"Well, like I said. I saw my family in danger, so I stepped in to help."
"How did you find Sophia?" Emily wanted to know.
"I'm not the one who found her. I got a friend to keep an eye on you and when you came back to the states to meet Sophia, he got to meet her too."
"Who was your friend that was stalking us for the past year?" she asked.
"Oh you mean Evan?" Ian chuckled.
"Well he's the same son of a bitch who told Liam about Sophia. We had a small disagreement and it didn't end in his favor so he went and sang like a bird to Liam," Doyle added.
"Where is he now?" Emily wanted to know.
"Dead. Liam killed him," Doyle said.
"So you've just been here playing house with Declan and Sophia?" Emily questioned.
"I'm not playing house. I'm their father," Doyle replied.
"Ian, you're a killer and a criminal who faked his own death and then kidnapped his two kids and brought them to Ireland away from their families. Even you have to know this isn't right." Prentiss pointed out.
"Listen, my kids need me-" he started to say.
"Are you sure it's not you who needs them?" Emily cut him off.
"How long do you think you can keep us as prisoners here?" she asked.
"You don't get it, do you? They like living here. They're not prisoners," he told her.
"Oh so you'd be fine with me leaving tomorrow and taking Sophia and Declan back home to the States?" Emily asked.
"Emily, listen to me. It's not safe for anyone anymore. The safest place for all of you is here. As long as Liam lives he will stop at nothing until you are all dead. He wants to see me suffer," Doyle explained.
"What did you do to Liam to make him hate you so much?" Prentiss wanted to know?
Doyle took a deep breath and looked up at the woman.
"His family died because of me. He's simply trying to return the favor," Ian told her.
"So we're all stuck here until he's dead?" She asked.
He nodded.
"I should at least call my team to let them know we're safe," she tried to explain.
"What's to stop them from coming here and taking you? I can't take any risks Emily," he told her.
"Great," she said sarcastically.
"Anyways, I'm sure Sophia told you how much she hates me," Emily said and looked at that man.
"I wouldn't be too sure about that," he told her.
"What do you mean?" She asked.
"Sophia practically begged me to find you and bring you here so you'd be safe with us," he told her. Right after he said that, Eliza walked in and said,
"Lunch is ready."
After they ate lunch, Doyle took Emily to the guest room on the main floor to show her where she would be staying.
"Dinner is at six and I'm sure you're tired. So, I'll tell the kids to leave you alone until dinner so you can rest," Doyle said to her as he left and closed he door.
She looked around the room and then took a seat on the bed and eventually laid down.
"How is she?" Sophia asked her father as they worked on a puzzle together.
"I think she's still processing everything that's going on. You know, you can talk to her yourself," Ian said.
Sophia looked down and didn't say anything.
"Every time I've talked to Emily since I found out who she really is, it's always ended in a fight," Sophia told her dad.
"Why's that?" Doyle asked.
"I don't know. I guess I'm still mad at her. But I liked her before I knew who she was. Then when I found out, it was like all of my hatred and anger I had for my her came out. I couldn't control myself," the girl admitted.
"Maybe you should tell her that. Then you could start on repairing your relationship with your mother," Doyle offered.
"You're probably right," Sophia replied.
"How come you were never upset with me?" Ian wanted to know.
"Because you didn't give me up. You didn't abandon me and lie about it to my face, like she did," Sophia said.
Eliza went and got Emily for dinner. There was a lot of small talk at dinner. As expected, Sophia wouldn't even look in Emily's direction. The conversation was mostly Declan and Emily catching up. After dinner, the kids went into the living room to watch tv and Doyle and Emily cleaned up.
"Emily, there's something we need to talk about," Doyle told her quietly after they cleaned up dinner.
"Okay, what's up?" she asked.
"I need to go over the escape plan with you. I already talked to the two kids about it," he said.
"Escape plan?" Prentiss asked.
"Yeah. In case anyone finds us here. There's an extra car in the back garage. And the directions to a safe house."
"I'll have to show you the rest, follow me," he said and led her downstairs to the very room he told his kids not to ever go in.
When they opened the door it was computer monitors and screens everywhere. Doyle had an extensive security system and he was able to control it all from that room. He showed Emily where the garage was.
"If something were to happen you are to take the kids and get to the car and drive to the safe house. Their safety is my number one concern," he explained.
"You know, as terrible of a human as you are, you really do care about your kids," she told him.
"They're my world," he responded.
"Do they know about your escape plan?" She asked.
"Yeah, we've gone over a procedure that can get then out of the house in three minutes, and I taught them how to defend themselves just in case," he added.
"You mean shoot?" She wanted to know.
"Yes," he answered.
"They both know how to shoot and drive," he told her.
"Wow," she whispered as she looked around at the security cameras.
"I get an alert if someone enters in our airspace, underground or even just on foot," he told her.
"The kids have an emergency bag packed in the car already with some clothes and necessities," he told her.
"You should pack one and I'll put it in the car for you," he told her.
"Do I get a gun?" she wanted to know.
"Yeah, there's one in your nightstand and one in your bathroom drawer," he told her.
"You trust that I won't kill you?" She asked.
"If you care about our kids as much as I think you do, then you'd be smart not to put them in danger," he answered.
