The next day...

Jamie had to get up with Laina all night because Eddie was passed out cold the second she hit that pillow. They both had to work 1-8 this afternoon. Jamie got up and fed Alaina a bottle around 6 and then decided to just get up. He couldn't sleep thinking about last night. He put Alaina on her play mat on the living room floor and drank his coffee on the couch. Just sitting in silence, waiting for Eddie to get up.

15 minutes later he heard her. She came out, looking pretty rough, her hair was a mess, she was clearly hungover.

"Good morning." She said as she slowly walked to the kitchen. Her whole body must have just ached by the way she carried herself. Jamie didn't say anything back he just watched her go get a cup of coffee.

"Hi sweetie" she said squatting on the floor to Laina when she came over to the living room and saw her playing on the floor. She got up then and sat with Jamie on the couch.

"I have a headache." She said rubbing her head.

"Yeah?" He said and took a sip of his coffee. He wanted to see what she had to say before he jumped down her throat.

"Yeah, we started off a little heavy but then I think we slowed down." Eddie said.

"But you don't remember?" He asked.

"Not really...When did Hailey bring me home?" She asked.

"Um like midnight." He said.

"What...!?" Eddie was shocked.

"Yeah. You don't remember anything..?" He questioned. She just shook her head.

"Okay do you remember who you talked to at the bar or what you guys did...?" He asked.

"Ugh. I just remember getting drink after drink with Hailey. I think we played darts, danced a little." She said.

"All just with Hailey?" Jamie asked firmly.

"Am I missing something? Why are you giving me like an attitude?" She asked.

"Eddie I called you last night because it was getting late and I was concerned, and I hear you not talking to me but another guy, Michael? He was buying you drinks, and then when I questioned it you just told me he was a really nice guy...!?" Jamie raised his voice a little at her.

"Wha-" Eddie was confused but Jamie kept talking.

"When you got home you smelled like smoke. I said does Hailey smoke? You said no Michael does though. Then I asked more about him and you said he was a nice guy again and he bought you a few drinks. Before I could say anything else, you fall asleep." He said still not done talking but Eddie tried to intervene.

"But I-" her face was just in shock.

"So I get in bed with you, oh and before you fell asleep I was helping you get undressed and you thought I was trying to seduce you, you were horny and started grabbing at me wanting to have sex! Anyway, I lay down after you're asleep and your phone rings! It's Michael, asking if you STILL WANTED TO MEET UP!" Jamie was pissed.

"Okay please stop yelling, my head is pounding." Eddie said holding both hands on it closing her eyes.

"I bet it is! But you need to explain what the hell happened last night because this guy was looking to hook up and he didn't care you were married!" Jaime added, his blood was boiling.

"Jamie I don't remember!" She said.

"What do you mean you don't remember!?" He asked frustrated.

"I don't know! I was drunk! Do you remember things when you were drunk!?" She defended.

"I don't get drunk at bars!" He told her. She held her head in her hands looking down and closed her eyes.

"I just want to know how you don't remember this Michael guy. He has your number Eddie. How?" Jamie lowered his voice a little. Eddie sat still trying to think for the life of her.

"I mean I guess I kinda remember a guy hanging with us but he was into Hailey. I don't know how he got my number or why he'd call to hook up if I was married." Eddie said.

"Well I talked to Hailey last night before she brought you home. She wasn't drunk so I think we need to get the details from her." Jamie said.

"Jamie can't you just drop it. It's not like we actually hooked up!" Eddie said.

"Okay put yourself in my shoes. How would you feel?" He asked, she thought for a second about it and shrugged her shoulders unsure.

"You'd want a damn restraining order against the girl I almost cheated on you with!" Jamie told her. She sighed knowing he was right. She got up and went to get her phone.

"Jamie I don't know what I said last night or what he said last night but I would never cheat on you." She said and handed him her phone. He didn't say anything he started to call Hailey, putting it on speaker. Eddie was scared, she hoped she didn't do anything but she had no recollection.

"Hey how you feeling girl?" Hailey said over the phone. Jamie looked at Eddie wanting her to talk to her first.

"Hey... yeah I'm hurtin'..." Eddie said.

"Ha I bet. You were slamming them down last night!" She said.

"Ugh yeah I don't really remember much..." Eddie said.

"Well after I saw how heavy you wanted to drink I just stayed buzzed. I figured we didn't both need to be carried out." Hailey laughed. Jamie was so mad, he just wanted to hear what happened with this guy. He made a face at Eddie like "keep talking".

"Yeah...hey so who'd we talk to last night? Some Michael guy called me late...I guess asking if I wanted to still meet up...?" Eddie was so nervous to see what she'd say.

"Oh my god. He was with a few other guys, we played darts with them, he kept buying drinks for us but you were the only one drinking them I had enough. But wait he called you last night...!?" Hailey was surprised.

"Yeah...sounded like I maybe led him on or something? I just don't know how we got each others numbers..." Eddie said, Jamie sat back just listening to the conversation.

"I mean I think you meant it more coming from a cop point of view, because you had just told him you were married, had a baby at home and you were a cop.." Hailey replied.

"Then why'd he call wanting what sounded like to hook up?" Eddie asked.

"I mean...you said something like -call me if you ever need anything- and you kinda said it flirtatiously but I knew you meant it as a cop. He must've took it as sex... maybe he wasn't as drunk as I thought, I just figured he knew you were." Hailey told her. Jamie was so mad he could hardly take it.

"Huh." Eddie just sighed over the phone.

"Does Jamie know?" She asked, it was silent the awkwardness filled the room as Jamie sat there waiting for her to reply to her.

"Yeah." She said and swallowed hard.

"Oof. Sorry. The good news is you didn't act on it, you do get flirty when you're drinking though." Hailey said.

"Wait did he try something on me?" Eddie asked nervously.

"I mean...when we were leaving he tried to make a move but I got in front of that real quick." Hailey said. Jamie got up and started going to their front door.

"I gotta go!" Eddie hung up the phone and went after him.

"Jamie! I didn't do anything!" She said stopping him by shutting the door in front of him.

"I can't deal with this right now. I need to go get some air, take a walk." He said stressed out.

"Okay. Why don't we all go?" Eddie asked meaning her and Alaina.

"No just...no" Jamie grabbed his coat and left. Lainey started crying and so did Eddie. She didn't know what she should've said or did.

20 minutes later Jamie came back. Eddie was sitting in silence still really upset, while their baby was in the jumper happy as a clam.

She quick wiped her tears and Jamie slowly made his way over to sit down on the couch next to her. He took a deep breath before he spoke.

"I'm sorry but I just needed a few minutes to clear my head." He said. Eddie just nodded understanding and wiped the couple tears that still fell from her cheek.

"I'm sorry that I was irresponsible when you had full trust in me. I'm sorry I messed that up for us." Eddie said.

"I don't know what to say. Um...I don't want to say it's okay because it's not..." Jamie started to say, remaining calm.

"Of course." Eddie agreed.

"But I appreciate you saying that. And I accept your apology." Jamie said and took her hand. Eddie couldn't help but tear up, happy and relieved he was forgiving her.

"I'm really sorry. I hope you still love me." Eddie said once more. Jamie pulled her in for a hug without saying anything, he knew she felt bad and couldn't change her actions.

"I'll always love you." He finally said. They hugged for awhile, feeling each others heart rate diminish against each other. Alaina broke the sweet moment by screaming and babbling as she jumped in the jumper having the time of her life. They both smiled at her and remembered the life they had together at the end of the day was perfect.

The amount of feedback I got of people excited for this chapter was unreal! Thank you! It's funny because I spent so little time writing both, I had no idea what plot to write so I just whipped this up in an hour out of nowhere haha! What's next for these two!?
