It had been three months since Jessie agreed to move in with John. They hadn't had the time to start the moving process because they'd both been so busy. They were finally moving in together this weekend. Jessie decided to go ahead and open her own real estate agency. She had a location picked out and employees hired. All that was left to do now was open, which was taking place next week. It was Monday. Jessie was with John. Raw had been in St. Louis, Missouri. After the show Jessie, John, Kim and Randy all went out to a bar. They were at a table drinking and having a good time.
"Are you still moving in with John this weekend?" Randy asked Jessie.
"Yeah." Jessie said. "We have a U-Haul booked "
"Well you know what comes next." He said teasingly but serious
"Don't you start." John said rolling his eyes.
"Dum, dum, da, dum." "Dum dum, da dum." Randy said looking at Jessie and John and smiling.
"Ha ha." John said. "Shut the fuck up."
"Randy for the millionth time." Jessie said. "John and I have no desire whatsoever to get married." "Just face it, in 2022 you're going to owe him five-hundred dollars."
"That's right." They kissed.
It was Saturday afternoon. Jessie and John were moving in her things. She was putting some things away in the bedroom. John came in the room holding a piece of paper.
"Hi honey." She said.
"Hi." She kissed him.
"What do have there?"
"I need to talk to you about something."
"What?"
"I'm so happy you're moving in."
"But?"
"No buts." "I'm not quite sure how to say this." "Since you want to live here, I need you to sign something for me."
"Sign something?" She said confused. "Sign what?"
"Legally it's referred to as a cohabitation agreement."
"A cohabitation agreement?" She took the paper.
"Yes."
"I see you've signed it."
"Yeah and I've had it notarized." "I need you to sign it three times."
"Are you afraid I'm going to try to take your money or your things?"
"No."
"You choose to spring this on me out of nowhere?"
"I was trying to find the right way to ask you."
"I need to take this and leave for awhile, to process."
"I understand."
Jessie went to what was going to be her real estate agency to read the paper over.
An hour later she came back to the house.
"John?"" She said.
"Yeah?" He said coming down the stairs. "Hi."
"Hi."
"Are you mad at me?"
"I was just shocked and caught off guard." "I should've brought it up sooner."
"I have no interest in your money or anything you have."
"I know." "That's not why I'm asking you to sign." "You know how many things I'm financially responsible for." "I know you would never try anything." "I just want to be sure they'll stay that way."
"Since it means so much to you, I'll sign it."
"Thank you." He hugged her. "I'm sorry."
"It's ok." "Just next time you want to talk about something like that, warn me please."
"I will." He kissed her. "I love you."
"I love you too."
