Disclaimer: I do not own Harry Potter.

Since this is technically the word for February 14th, I was originally planning to do something with Valentine's Day but chaos isn't a particularly Valentinish word and my muse struck elsewhere.

Day 45: Chaos

The long table that had been set up in the backyard was packed full of redheads, interspersed with the occasional brown or black, and squeezed between a dark-haired boy and one of the many redheads, the white-blonde head that belonged to Scorpius Malfoy.

The boy in question was gazing around with wide eyes. The babble of what must have been a dozen conversations going on at once was so loud, Scorpius wasn't sure how anyone could keep track of their own conversation.

To add to the chaos, a few seats down the table from Scorpius and his friends, James and Fred were tossing a Fanged Frisbee back and forth to each other across the table, ignoring occasional admonishments from both of their exasperated mothers.

"Is it always this…?" Scorpius trailed off.

"Mad?" Albus supplied with a laugh, "Only when the whole family is together like this."

"How many cousins do you have, anyway?" Scorpius asked.

"There's twelve of us all together," Rose supplied, "Thirteen if you count Teddy and he's practically a Potter, anyway."

Just then, a girl's scream cut through the babble of conversation. All eyes turned to Dominique, who had leapt from her chair. The left side of her hair was now several inches shorter than the right. It appeared James had misjudged his throw of the fanged frisbee a bit and it had given Dominque an unwanted haircut.

Dominique began to shout furiously at James, who seemed torn between laughter and fear.

As Fleur hurried over to usher her daughter away, "Don't fret, ma cher, I can fix it," and Ginny firmly confiscated the Fanged Frisbee, "That will be quite enough of that, young man," Albus turned to Scorpius.

"If this is too much for you, we can go inside," he said, "I know our family can be… overwhelming."

But Scorpius was grinning, "Nah, it's nothing at all like my house, but I like it. It's… warm. Welcoming."

"And completely mad," Rose echoed Albus' earlier words with a snort.

"Well, yes, that too," Scorpius conceded, "But in a good way."

Hope you enjoyed! Any and all reviews would be much appreciated.
