For once, Cassie was able to stay awake throughout the feast since she wasn't so emotionally exhausted. However, it only made her realise that she really wasn't missing out on much.

She zoned out to be completely honest and only snapped out of her daze when she heard an obnoxious voice repeatedly cut off their Headmaster. She turned her attention to the front just in time to witness the woman dressed in pink from head to toe, stop on front of Dumbledore and address them.

"I smell trouble." She heard Fred whisper from behind her.

"In the form of a pink devil." Added George.

"Thank you, Headmaster." Her voice was high and nasaly. "For those kind words of welcome, and how lovely to see all your bright, happy faces smiling up at me. I'm sure we're all going to be very good friends."

"That's likely." The twins muttered.

"Not if she doesn't stop talking to us as if we're two years old, we're not." Serena grumbled, making it hard for Cassie to keep a straight face.

"The Ministry of Magic has always considered the education of young witches and wizards to be of vital importance. Although, each Headmaster has brought something new to this historic school." She looked at Dumbledore with an over-sweet expression. "Progress for the sake of progress must be discouraged. Let us preserve what must be preserved. Perfect what can be perfected-"

Cassie was too busy frowning to realise that she had tuned her voice out. This whole situation didn't bode well with her. This was merely a ploy to keep Dumbledore in his place - a scare tactic if you may.

It wasn't until an awkward string of claps sounded at the same time Serena nudged her, that she realised she'd zoned out once again, but this time for a very different reason.

"Thank you, Professor Umbridge." Dumbledore said, clapping over-enthusiastically.

Cassie glanced past him to find Severus, his face blank but she could tell that he was disgruntled.

This woman was going to cause trouble.

Make way for the devil in pink.

A/N: Finally updated! This is just a filler chapter to start the year off, before it really hits the fan. Hope you enjoy :)
