Funnily enough, Motoki wasn't that surprised when Kousagi told him who her parents were and where she came from originally. He only grinned from one ear to the other and stated nonchalantly

„Oh I knew it! You are so much like Usagi. The first time I saw you when you entered the arcade I thought you must be her twin sister or at least her forgotten sister and I was also a little frightened that Mamoru might have caught an eye on you instead of your mother. You must admit that it is a quite unusual situation that you come here and have the exact age as Usagi." He said to her while they were sitting in the booth the Senshi normally occupied.

On the other side Kousagi didn't expect Motoki to be such a great support for her mission. There were a few but tremendously important facts he provided her with which made it a lot easier to understand the whole current situation she travelled into.

1. Motoki was not only Mamoru's best friend but in his former life he also existed. In a slightly different relation to him, though. Back in the Silver Millenium his name was Epeios. Thus,...drum roll please...he was Endymion's younger brother!!! This actually was the hardest cognizances for Kousagi to take; The sand blonde cheerful, sexy hunk of Juuban-Azabu was no one else but good old uncle Motoki! Motoki Onii-San! Holy crap! What a waste! She was fairly sure that this issue would cause her some sleepless nights.

2. He didn t have any magical powers, much to Kousagi's regret. All he was able to do, was stepping into people's minds and clean them up. This was quite impractical since Mamoru's complete memory of his past life was missing and not messed up. He did not even possess useful tools such as a cat ball or a cool and powerful sword, not even a super hero cape, a mask or a speaking pet. None of them! Again, what a waste!

3. A stunning one: He knew almost everything about the Sailor Senshi. That was mainly down to the fact that they always met up in a booth of the arcade and neither of them was never ever really able to lower her voice when they discussed important Senshi issues. Thus, he was aware of Mamoru's „evil Endymion period" and also found out some time later that apparently there must have happened a kind of a reboot to all the included protagonists' minds. From one day to another, they didn't realize each other anymore. This circumstance lasted for almost two months. After that, everything seemed to be business as usual.

„Apart from the fact that Usagi started to cling besotted on Mamoru whenever she could. That man who was her former arch enemy in this life but before that her former lover in another life." Kousagi tried to round up Motoki's information about the happening during the last two and a half months.

"Furthermore, you don't have any clue why Mamoru is the only one who cannot recall anything which happened throughout the last whole year but has his memories filled up instead with learning and coffee drinking sessions."

"I know this is utterly confusing and it doesn't help that I cannot go to the girls and ask them for clarification since I am not supposed to know about them and I also don't want the Sailor team to know who I really am."

Motoki took a deep breathe and rolled his eyes up to the ceiling. There he rested his gaze for a few moments, completely lost in his thoughts and finally found her eyes again. With all his typical Motokiness he confessed

„I want Mamoru to remember his past life again and therefore, his love. I want this since I know how it feels like to find the love of your life. I have experienced this and I want him to be happy and not lonely anymore. I am more than sure that this is his biggest wish either."

When Motoki ended his speech, Kousagi eyed him sincerely and approved to him

"Motoki, I think you are a fine man and well equipped with the greatest intentions. Mamoru can be really lucky to have you as his best friend...err or brother...well whatever, you are very special to him! Honestly, I have a feeling that by simply snapping your fingers you can shine up his world. Thank you so much for sharing all this important information. It means a lot to me. Really!"

He smiled at her openly and suddenly changed the topic when another thing came into his mind.

„I suppose this was not your intention when you came into the arcade. I mean, revealing your proper identity and reuniting with long missing relatives." He smirked boyishly. „You are definitely up to the 'Retro Version' of the Sailor V game, aren't you?"

Surprised by the sudden twist, Kousagi started laughing nervously

"Haha, frankly speaking I was trying to stalk the Sailor Senshi in order to find out more about Dad's private life."

Motoki lifted his eyebrow and explained by showing her all of his sympathy

"Oh, I am sorry to disappoint you but they will not come here today. There is a culture festival at Ray's school and I heard that all of them will participate since Ray is the head of the organization committee and she will even sing there!"

"Mars singing? No way! She hates to stand in the front row, she is an absolute team player and would never ever do such a girlish thing like that!"

She blurred out what just hit her mind without looking at the handsome sand blonde uncle version.

Motoki only responded with a complete puzzled expression on his face.

"Ahem...err...well things might be different in your time. Anyway, I have to go now. It was an utmost pleasure to talk to you. You have no idea how much I appreciate your support! Don't worry, your secret is safely sealed in my heart. In any time. Oh and best of luck with Reika. She is definitely marriage stuff...but she should get rid of the horse riding and I don't like her profession at all. Can she not select something where she does not have to leave the country for always such a long period? This is sooo annoying and definitely pure toxic for any relationship...whoopsy daisy, see? I am waffling again, I am sooo sorry, just forget everything I just said. Apart from the safe secret and the marriage stuff of course. Well, bye then and hope to see you soooooon!"

She sprinted out of the Game Crown Center and left behind a stunned Motoki who slowly switched the open sign back to its original place while he watched her hopping through the busy streets of Juuban.

While she slowed down her pace, Kousagi had to swallow hard when she realized that her encounters with Motoki would be restricted to this time. She hadn't seen him in her world and became fairly sad about this. With carrying those somber thoughts on her mind, she lost the way back to Mamoru's apartment and found herself standing in front of a school gate.

It had become early evening and the echos of a song started to surround her. She heard a female voice singing. Fascinated from its gentle sonority, Kousagi sat down on a little piece of green next to the school walls and listened to the message

‚I've waited all of my life

For the day when love appears

Like a fairy tale in days gone by

He will rescue me from my fears

And now I feel him standing close to me

And how can I tell him what he means to me

My heart stands still - has he come?

Oh starry night

Is this the moment I dream of?

Oh starry night

Tell me, is he my own true love?

Every night I think of him

Here in my lonely room

Waiting for my prince to come

Wondering if he'll be here soon

And I sit patiently, waiting for a sign

And I hope that his heart longs for mine

He calls my name, is he the one?

Oh starry night

Is this the moment I dream of?

Oh starry night

Tell me, is he my own true love?

Oh starry night

Is he the one that I dream of?

Oh starry night

How will I know

Will his love show

Is he my own true love?

I've waited all of my life

For the day when love appears

Like a fairy tale in days of old

He will rescue me from my fears

And now suddenly he walks in like a dream

And how can I tell him what he means to me

My heart stands still - has he come?

Oh starry night

Is he the one that I dream of?

Oh starry night

Tell me, is he my own true love?

Oh starry night

Is he the one that I dream of?

Oh starry night

How will I know

Will his love show

Is he my own true love?'

When Kousagi sunk into the song and dreamed away, she didn't notice that Mamoru was standing next to her.

He had just finished his work and was actually looking for some distraction. Since the arcade had been filled up with teenagers, but unfortunately neither with blonde or pink Odangos, he had decided to go for a little walk before he'd return to his apartment.

Unconsciously he had been drawn to this place and was now also receiving the deeper meaning of the song.

„Hey, I take it, you also do fancy good music, don't you?" He got her out of her reverie immediately.

„Well, I think the song carries quite useful tidings. Generally speaking, this is what I expect a very good song to be like anyway apart from a unique and wonderful music of course." She answered naughtily.

Mamoru laughed slightly but his expression changed to a serious, partly sad one. He replied dryly

„Well, it's probably also up to the receiver to understand the message properly or not. Sometimes there is an obstacle which almost makes it impossible to overcome."

Kousagi understood too well what he wanted to tell her between the lines. She put her hands behind her head and laid herself down to the grass. While she looked into the dark blue of the evening sky, she promised to him

„You know Mamoru, I wouldn't worry too much about it for now. Love will find a way to reach its aim, regardless which time, date or situation might come, since it touches ones heart so deeply."

Note: I thought about it very long if I shall insert the original translation of „Eien No Melody" but decided to take the English song instead. The lyrics certainly don't belong to me and are only used in this fanfiction.
