A couple weeks later, the little family adjusted to their new member's presence. Emily was able to relieve Eliza of some of her duties as well.
Sophia and Emily had been missing for a month. The team back in Quantico were working overtime trying to find them.
One night around 1:00am , Doyle was downstairs watching the security cameras as usual. Sophia was in her room fast asleep as well as Declan. While Prentiss was in the living room with the tv on. Suddenly, there was a sudden popping noise.
Emily assumed it was the wind knocking something over, but the she recognized it as gunfire. Then Doyle came racing up the stairs with a gun in hand.
"There was a security breech. Three unknown trucks entered the premises. They just got past the first gate and killed some of my men. We need to get the kids and leave," he told her.
"Do we know who they are?" She asked.
"One of them was Liam," he told her.
In an instant she was up and on her feet.
"I got Declan, you get Soph," he told her. Both parents raced upstairs to their kids room.
"Hey, Sophia. You got to get up. We need to leave now," Emily said and she shook the girl awake.
She slowly woke up and said,
"What's going on?"
"We're leaving right now," Emily told her and helped her out of bed.
Once the girl was standing she said,
"I got it. You can go get ready. I'll meet you in your room in a second."
"No, I'm not leaving you," Prentiss said.
"I can take care of myself. You need to get your bag and shoes on too, go!" Sophia almost yelled.
Prentiss gave her one last look and then darted downstairs to do just that.
Sophia grabbed her backpack and threw on some black cargo pants. Then she quickly tied up her boots and threw her jacket on over her black shirt. After that she reached into her night stand drawer and grabbed one of her handguns for emergencies. Then she walked over to her dresser and grabbed the other and strapped it down by her ankle just in case. She looked like she was ready for war. Then she reached under her bed and pulled out her emergency backpack. She could hear her parents yelling from the main floor about something. Within the next two seconds, Declan popped his head in her room and said,
"You ready?"
She nodded, walked over to him and said, "After you."
He ran downstairs to where both of his parents were waiting.
"Where is your sister?" Doyle asked as Declan ran over to him.
He turned around and said,
"She was just behind me."
Suddenly, they heard a scream and then a gunshot.
"No!" Prentiss yelled and already started running up the stairs.
She ran to Sophia's room to find the child's window broken with one man climbing in and one man on top of her daughter. There was another man who was right by her bed, but he was shot and looked to be dead. Sophia was able to turn her head and she bit the guy on top of her as hard as she could. Then she was able to flip him on his back and as she did she pulled out her gun and shot him in the face. As she did that, Emily shot the man that was coming in through the window.
"I told you I could take care of myself," the girl growled and got up and grabbed her bag. Emily was shocked. There was no hesitation when Sophia shot and killed two men and it scared her.
The two successfully made it downstairs and out the back. Just as they made it out of the house, the house blew up. The blast threw Sophia and Emily even farther from the house.
When Prentiss opened her eyes she saw her daughter laying down a few feet from her and her eyes were closed. Her face was all dirty from the explosion and there was blood dripping down the right side of her head. Emily quickly got herself together and made her way to her kid. She shook the child awake and said,
"Cmon, lets go."
Just as they were about to stand up, two men approached the back of the house with guns, which caused Emily to pull her daughter down and out of sight. They were hidden in the back behind a big rock and they could see the garage from where they were.
"Are we going to try and make a run for it?" Sophia asked. Her head was pounding and her ears were ringing, but she was so in shock she could barely feel anything.
Emily didn't answer. When she looked behind the garage she saw Declan and Doyle sitting in the truck, waiting for them. She locked eyes with Doyle.
"I see them," Ian said.
"I'm going to distract the guys in the back. You need to stay here until they get here. Tell Emily to go to the meeting spot and if I'm not there within fifteen minutes leave without me and go to the safe house," Doyle added.
"No, we won't leave you," Declan said.
"Listen son, you need to protect your sister and Emily," Doyle said as he gave his son one last hug.
Ian jumped out of the truck and made his way around the garage. Emily realized what he was doing and got ready to run.
"Okay Sophia, you need to run as fast as you can, got it?" she asked.
The child nodded.
Just then Ian pulled out his gun and started shooting. Right when they went down Emily and Sophia took off. They made it to the truck safely, but one of the men saw them and yelled. As he did, more men came from behind he house. Prentiss got in the drivers seat and Sophia secured herself in the back.
"What do I do?" She asked.
"Drive!" Both kids yelled as the guys started making their way towards the truck. Ian dropped his empty gun and then took off in the woods.
"Where is he going?" Prentiss asked.
"The meeting spot," Declan told her.
"What meeting spot?" Emily asked.
"Just drive I'll show you," Declan said.
One guy almost got to the truck but then Declan rolled his window down and shot him.
Prentiss gave him a look and Declan said,
"Emily we need to go now!"
Emily drove into a trail in the woods that eventually led back to the road. Right as she got to the road she pulled over and turned off her lights and then a motorcycle approached them.
Prentiss pulled out her gun to shoot but Declan stopped her.
It was Ian.
He took off his helmet and jumped in the drivers seat as Emily made her way to the back with Sophia.
"I can't believe you remembered the meeting spot," Doyle said.
"It was Declan who told me where to go," Prentiss told them. Just then two cars came out of nowhere and started shooting at the truck they were in.
"Emily you need to shoot back. Open the middle window, Sophia can show you. It's bullet proof glass so it won't shatter," Doyle said.
Prentiss looked down at her daughter who looked exhausted.
The girl opened the back window and took out her gun.
She gave her mother a tired look and then started shooting at the truck behind her. She didn't aim for the people. She shot at the tires which Emily noticed.
"Sophia you need to aim at the drivers!" Doyle yelled.
Emily saw her daughter hesitate so she took out her gun and said,
"I got this."
Emily took out the drivers with two precise shots.
Then she looked up at Ian and said,
"Got them!"
Ian then started talking and telling Declan about the rest of their trip. Prentiss glanced over at her kid who looked awful.
"Ian do you have a med kit somewhere in here?" Emily asked.
Doyle looked in his rear view mirror at Emily and said,
"It's under your seat."
Prentiss dug around a little before finding it.
Then she opened it up and looked at Sophia, who honestly looked simply drained at this point.
"We're safe now," Emily said softly as she opened the med kit and started going trough it. Then Prentiss put a bandage on the girl's head and said,
"Once we get to the house we can take a better look at your head, okay?"
Sophia nodded.
"Where are we going?" Emily asked Ian.
"A friend of mine owns a cottage about an hour away so we're going to go there and clean up and rest and then head to the new house," he explained.
"Can we trust this friend?" Emily asked.
"Yes. He's actually more like family," Ian said with smile.
