I'm sorry for not updating!

I have kind of lost the will to update, i'm still writing but very few people actually review and vote on my poles...

but I'm trying to push through.

I'm sorry to Eris and OeschnerC as they have been a constant reader and reviewer and I'm sorry that I have left you waiting for an update.

anyway here is the new chapter.

P.S I have no idea what riding dragon to give Cami if you guys have any ideas please let me know all suggestions are welcome (including made up dragons, just please give me plenty of information if you suggest your own dragon.)

P.P.S in this chapter we are introduced to the new OC dragon character of my own design! This chapter is one that I have been very excited to post (i know I just contradicted myself)

Chapter 29- "smoke and flames"

(Hiccup's perspective)

The Hooligans were gonna kill us. But we weren't gonna go down without fighting.

I picked up a sword

Cami also picked up a sword

Thuggory unsheathed his hatchets and ignited them

Then both sides gave a war cry and rushed at each other

I ran forward with Cami and Thuggory beside me, but as soon as the two sides met I couldn't see them.

I could tell who was a hooligan and who was a Bog Burglar so there was no friendly fire but I couldn't tell individual people.

I fought for 5 minutes before I recognised Snotlout.

"!uoy" he sneered

"Snotlout." I said firmly

He ran at me and swung his sword trying to chop my head off.

I ducked and pushed him backwards.

He stumbled but didn't fall.

I flipped my sword around so I was holding it upside down. And cloaked him in the head with the hilt.

This time he did fall... unconscious.

I got slammed from the side by Astrid

We both tumbled to the ground.

"You're worthless, you're useless!" Astrid growled viciously as she pinned me to the ground.

I punched her in her stomach where the blade wound was, she winced but didn't get off me.

She raised her axe above her head

I grabbed the handle as it came down and pushed against it.

It slowed its descent but Astrid's strength overpowered my own.

"Get off him." Cami growled

"No. I'm doing you a favour if I end him." she said

Cami moved so fast I didn't understand what had happened till I felt the pressure on my chest and legs removed and no longer saw Astrid kneeling over me.

I looked up at Cami, her leg raised in a high kick then I looked to my other side and saw Astrid unconscious on the ground.

Cami lowered her leg back to the ground.

"Never thought you'd be under another girl." she said grinning

"No one but you milady." I said as I stood up

*BOOM*

"What was that?" Cami said whirling around

I saw purple fire

"Was that?..." Cami said

"Toothless." I breathed

(Thuggory's perspective)

I heard the wail and the boom of a night fury.

I turned and looked at the direction of the explosion; Toothless was here.

Then I heard the crackling of flames behind me

I turned towards the flames and looked in the forest and saw a wall of greenish yellow flames.

Then I saw a silhouette amidst the flames, it was quadrupedal and had an oddly shaped head, but I knew who it was.

"Shipwreck!" I called to the silhouette

The silhouette walked through the fire without being harmed and approached me.

"Dragons!" Stoick shouted from somewhere out of my sight

A group of Snotlout's followers rushed at me, they didn't see the blackish green dragon next to me

Shipwreck began flying and flew above the group charging at me as he dropped a stream of greenish yellow fire onto the charging men.

They all started screaming.

"Shipwreck, follow." I told him

He began to follow me as I ran towards the purple explosions because I knew Hiccup and Cami would be there.

Along the way we knocked out as many Hooligans as we could.

On our way to the explosions I saw a small blonde haired girl and a medium height boy rushing through the warring people.

"Hiccup! Cam… Ughh!"

Before I could get their attention I was hit from my side.

I tumbled to the ground and found Astrid kneeling on me.

"I wasn't able to kill him, so I'll kill you instead." she growled

She swung her axe down but I moved my head to the side so it barely missed

Shipwreck was dealing with some of the Berkians so he couldn't help, not that I needed him to.

I grabbed her arms and pulled her forward and used my legs to kick her up which sent her flying behind me.

Then I did a somersault forward into a standing position and spun around to face her.

She was crouched low to the ground, an angry expression on her face, her axe was in between us.

I will let you go if you leave us alone." I said firmly

"I'm trying to get rid of a stalker." she said

"I know he's not a stalker, so why do you hate him?" I asked condescending

"Because he's a worthless useless wimp." she said

"Leave him alone or you will end up worse than the last time." I threatened

"Last time was the last time you get the best of me." she said confidently

Snotlout walked up beside Astrid

I unsheathed my hatchets and ignited them for the impending fight

Snotlout paled a little but didn't back down.

Astrid was even more determined to destroy me.

Astrid ran at me head on and Snotlout ran behind her

Astrid jumped and tried to kick me in the face, I stepped back to avoid it.

She landed on the ground a moment later.

She swung her axe low and Snotlout jumped over her to hit me with the mace he held.

I crossed my axes above my head to catch his mace and jumped over Astrid's axe, then I separated them which severed the mace from the handle.

Astrid tried to slice my neck open but I parried that as well.

Snotlout had taken a step back from the fight allowing me to focus on Astrid, but I never forgot that Snotlout could rejoin the fight at any moment.

"Just DIE!" Astrid shouted as she slammed her axe into my hatchets repeatedly

I kicked her knee causing her to fall to one knee

"Huh? usually it's the guy that proposes…" I said mockingly

"Shut up." she growled

"I though it was only Bog women who wanted domination." I said

"RAAGGGHHH!" Snotlout shouted from my side

I turned and picked up the head of his mace and threw it at him so hard he fell backwards and was knocked out

"Now… leave us alone." I turned back to Astrid

She said nothing and so I left to go find Hiccup and Cami

Shipwreck followed behind me in the sky.

(Omniscient narrator)

The battle waged on between the Bog Burglars and the Hooligans.

Axes clashed against shields.

Swords pierced flesh.

And hammers clanged off armour…

And dragons fire burned the Hooligans

Bertha noticed this.

Not one of her women was set aflame.

Hiccup, Cami and Thuggory must really be able to control the dragons.

Even with the two dragons help the Burglars were slightly outnumbered

But out of a cave beneath their feet awoke a third dragon...

(Cami's perspective)

Me and Hiccup finally found Toothless who was standing on top of the Hooligan statue blasting the ground at his opponents feet.

We looked around us at the destruction that was caused in only a few minutes!

But after a moment I realised I was struggling to see more than a few feet in front of me and I was losing visibility by the second!

There seemed to be clouds coming out of cracks in the ground.

It looked like smoke from a fire, but why would it be coming out of the ground?

I turned to Hiccup about to ask him when I noticed I couldn't see him!

And I couldn't see Toothless either!

"Hiccup?" I called

I waited a moment for any kind of response.

There was none.

"Toothless?" I called

Again, no answer.

I unsheathed my sword because I was kind of getting worried.

Then I heard footsteps.

"Hiccup!" I yelled happily as I ran towards the sound…

And into a tall man with black hair, and nearly the size of Stoick.

"Hello lass." he sneered in a high pitched voice

Then he grabbed my arm and held firm as he dragged me through the smoke

"Let me go!" I said trying to wrench my arm from his

"You rejected my son, so now I reject your request."

"Well then I reject your rejection." I said firmly

"I don't care if you reject it." he said

I stomped on the ground and dragged my heels through the dirt to try and stop him from bringing me anywhere.

All I accomplished was creating trenches in the dirt.

As I was being dragged I saw a flash of yellow but it may have been my imagination

I really hoped it was Thuggory's hatchets

"Thuggory help!" I called to him

The only answer I got was from Spitelout

"No one can help you." he sneered

Then a small black and grey thing burst from a large crack in the ground and lunged at Spitelout's face.

It hit him with such force that Spitelout was knocked backwards and onto the ground

I heard short small gravely growls from whatever it was that had attacked Spitelout

After a battle that lasted only seconds the creature; my saviour, darted back into the crack in the ground it had come from.

I looked over at Spitelout who was unconscious with most of his armour melted and still glowing hot from the temperature

I looked at the crack in the ground. I didn't see anything but I walked up to it and layed down close to the ground to put my eye to the crack, when I did all I saw was pitch black. I was about to give up when something slid up and there was a glowing yellow light!

I stumbled backwards in shock

There was a low growling as a small dragon came out slowly

It was black with shiny dark grey patterns on it that looked like strips of metal

Its eyes were bright yellow and it was very similar in shape to Toothless; with a two finned tail, and a short shovel shaped head, 4 short but strong legs and 2 black wings on its back in between the front legs and the back ones.

It crawled out just enough so its whole body was out but it would take less then a second to return to its 'burrow.'

"Hi…" I said warily

The dragon just looked at me

The sounds of war were still going on around us and the smoke was clearing now.

The dragon opened its mouth and smoke came out in alarming quantities!

After only a moment the only thing I could see was the tiny dragon in front of me.

I heard people coming closer

The dragon heard it and prepared to fight.

It opened its mouth and the inside of its throat glowed yellow and orange.

And from its paws, short but sharp claws extended.

"Over here." someone shouted as the footsteps came closer

I turned to face the people who were coming.

I was shocked when something appeared on my shoulder

I turned my head to the right and saw the yellow eye of the little dragon perched on my shoulder.

"Well then…" I started

"Gggrrrr." he growled lowly and then flicked his head in the direction of the approaching men.

"Ah… focus. Sure."

Then the dragon blasted a small yellow bolt of fire that lit up the smoke illuminating the approaching soldiers

(Hiccup's perspective)

I found Toothless, and Cami was following me.

Then the entire area was suddenly filled with smoke, Cami was no longer following me but Toothless was close enough to be visible

"Hey bud (cough) you wanna go get Cami?" I said

He crooned in agreement.

"Hiccup?" Cami called from a little bit away

I was about to call her when something hit Toothless hard enough to stun him.

Then I was grabbed so someone's hand was covering my mouth and their other arm was wrapped around my body pinning my arms to my side.

"MPH mph GgMMM!" I said muffled

Toothless seemed to be stunned long enough for my kidnapper to carry me out of sight

I tried to repeat 'let me go!' but realised it was pointless as his hand was still covering my mouth, and about my entire face

He continued running till we were in the forest where he sat me on a log and then sat down behind me.

"Turn around." a firm voice says

I turned around and saw Stoick

I opened my mouth to say something snarky before he raised his hand for quiet

"Look… I wanted to talk to you... alone."

"What did you do to Cami?" I asked darkly

"I haven't done anything to her."

I gave him a skeptical look.

"Nothing you don't already know about." he corrected

"Then where is she?" I asked angrily

"I honestly don't know, the smoke appeared. I saw you and a dragon, I punched the dragon and grabbed you and left the smoke."

"Fine. what did you want to 'talk' about?" I said curtly

"I'm sorry... " Stoick said

I was surprised, that wasn't what I was expecting at all

"... fo, for everything." he stuttered

"I didn't order this…" he continued as he gestured at the sound of battle around us

"And, i'm sorry for not believing you" he said sadly

"I'm sorry for... abusing you." he said full of sorrow

I stood up and turned away from him and faced the direction we had come from

"I'll need time to think, but we need to find Cami."

"First I want to know who she is?"

I half turned to kind of face him

"The woman I love…" and then I raced back into the smoke.

(omniscient Narrator)

The black dragon was stunned for only a moment but it was long enough for someone to grab his rider and run off. The dragon was about to run off in the direction of Hiccup, when he stopped.

Hiccup would want Toothless to ensure the protection of his future mate, but Hiccup needed the protection more, but Hiccup also wanted only people he could trust to know that dragons and humans were friends, Toothless couldn't help without revealing that.

Toothless swung his head conflicted, he looked in the direction he had heard Cami but he then looked in the direction Hiccup was taken.

He blasted the ground with fire in frustration then turned and began to sprint in the direction Hiccup was taken.

After only a couple moments of running he heard his rider.

"Cami!"

The dragon couldn't tell if he was yelling for her help or to find her, but he ran towards his rider regardless.

"Cami!" he shouted

Then the black dragon barreled into him

"Oof…" he exclaimed as he was knocked over.

"Hey bud." the auburn haired viking said

The dragon crooned

"Do you know where Cami is?" he asked

The dragon looked up and began sniffing the air

Then he turned to face one direction and raced off towards Cami.

(Thuggory's perspective)

I ran into the smoke looking for whirling blonde hair.

Last I saw was Hiccup and Cami running into a wall of smoke.

Cami's hair was gonna be the easiest thing to see in the smoke but even that was covered by the smoke. What I did see was flashes of yellow light in the smoke and so I ran towards them to figure out what it was.

What I saw surprised me!

Cami was parrying with her sword while a small creature on her shoulder blasted fire at the Hooligans

"Cami." I called to her

She whirled around to face me, the creature on her shoulder lunged at me.

I leapt to the side and it landed on the ground and quickly turned to face me, it was low to the ground in a pouncing stance.

"Thuggory stop."

"Ummm… dragon stop."

I lowered my hatchets and the dragon seemed to calm down a bit.

Then the dragon turned and jumped onto Cami's back. And climbed up to the back of her shoulder.

"OW ow ow ow." Cami said in pain

"You can't be up there." she said cutely to the dragon, she pulled it from her shoulder and cradled it in her arms

I was shocked; she was speaking to a dragon she just met in a baby voice!

I don't think she would even speak to her kids like that.

Shipwreck came out of the smoke and saw Cami and I and relaxed.

Then Toothless came out of nowhere with Hiccup on his back Toothless was running so fast he almost ran into Cami and her new dragon friend.

"HEY!" Cami exclaimed as she sheltered the little dragon in her arms

"Sorry…" Hiccup said before trailing off

"What's that?" he asked gesturing to the black and grey bundle in her arms

"This is… my new dragon." she said

"New dragon? When did this happen!" he asked excitedly

"And what type is it?" I asked

"It's…" she started

Camicazi looked down at the tiny dragon in her arms

"I honestly don't know what he is." she said

"But he saved me from Snotlout's father earlier." She continued

"Spitelout?" Hiccup asked

"Yes and after that he helped me fight the hooligans and almost attacked Thuggory as well when he showed up." she explained

"Are you going to keep him?" Hiccup asked

"I would like to." Cami responded

"Bertha probably won't be happy." I said quietly

Then we made their way towards the docks.

(Bertha's perspective)

My crew had retreated back to the boat, all except Cami, Hiccup and Thuggory most of the women were on the boat with bows and arrows, we kept the Hooligans back. Me and Tindra were at the end of the gang plank making sure no one got up.

"Where are they?" Tindra asked through gritted teeth

"They'll be here, Hiccup is smart he will come here." I said

"He better not bring those accursed dragons." she growled

"For all we know those dragons are their best chance at survival." I retorted

"For all we know they are inside their bellies." Tindra said

"Way to lift our spirits." I said rolling my eyes

After a minute of fighting I saw Hooligans flung into the air

And the Hooligans towards the back of the mob started to focus on something behind them.

Then I saw something black and grey bounce on top of the Hooligans and it would drop something yellow and orange on them.

Then the Night fury started whacking people with its wings and tail.

Then the Sharkworm rushed right through and knocked people away with his head

The presence of the three dragons was enough to send the Hooligans to their own ship.

We turned to look at Cami, Hiccup and Thuggory behind the dragons.

The little dragon shot a blast of fire at the two of us, We both stepped to the side to avoid it.

Cami ran forward to stop him from attacking again.

She picked him up and very gently tapped his nose as she smiled.

The little dragon calmed down immensely

Cami stepped forward

"Sorry he doesn't quite know who is an enemy and who is an ally." she explained nervously

"Who is he?" Tindra asked reprovingly

"My new dragon." Cami answered

Hiccup turned to the other two dragons.

"Toothless, Shipwreck, you guys can either fly home or follow behind us discreetly." he said

"No! All three dragons need to go." Tindra said angrily

I raised my hand to stop anyone from retorting and to stop Tindra from saying anything else

"Tindra drop it, the children have shown that they can control their dragons to an extent." I said

Cami smiled slyly at my last comment

The Sharkworm leapt into the water and swam behind our ship as the Night fury flew above the clouds and the tiny dragon was small enough to come aboard.

"Cami, you gotta keep that dragon under control, ok?" I said

"Of course." she replied

Then she ran off with the dragon on her shoulder.

I realized that I forgot to have my weird little paradox/ confusing question

so i will give two!

1: on the very first ruler ever made how did the measure how far apart to put the measurements?

2: if four out of every five people suffer from diarrhea does that mean that the fifth person enjoys it?
