(Author's Note: Fong is still a human in this timeline)
Raphael's P.O.V.-
We hopped onto the rooftop opposite Murakami-san's shop just in time to witness him be thrown up against the back walk by some Purple Dragon. Without hesitation, we all leapt down and burst through the front door; weapons ready in hand. The four gangsters' eyes were instantly upon us.
Fong! I shoulda' known it would be him. He's been hustling Murakami-san for some time now. He appeared to be equally unhappy to see us suddenly interrupting his shake down. "Turtles!" He hissed, clearly upset. "Murakami-san!" Donnie cried out. The old noodle chef looked in pretty back shape. He was laying on the floor presently, gasping for short breathes and supporting his upper half off the floor with both hands in a shaky manner.
I know it's gonna sound horrible, but after momentarily checking on Murakami-san, my mind instantly reverted elsewhere. I rapidly scanned over the room, searching for any sign of Athénaïs. It cannot be accurately described how relieved I was that she was nowhere to be seen. Her backpack wasn't here, and neither was her coat. She must either be out or hiding upstairs in her room. I'd have to check on her once we're through here. Speaking of the situation at hand…
You wouldn't know I was greatly relieved by my body language. I bore my clenched teeth in a snarl, more than ready to beat the ever-living crap outta these guys. They may not have hurt Athénaïs, but the fact that they dared to come to her place of residence was sufficient. Meanwhile they sent us monstrous glares; that's when I recognized two of the thugs to be the same jerks I beat up the night I met Athénaïs- the ones who were accosting her. They seemed more upset at our unannounced arrival than even their leader, Fong. One of them also had a black eye.
"Not you again!" One groaned loudly. "Are you following us or something? Or no, not us," the other chimed in- the one smarting the black eye. "Yeah! Shouldn't you be chasing that pet of yours? Hey, if not us, someone else will be assaulting her right now," the former was stupid enough to say. I was about to knock his teeth out before- to my utter shock and bewilderment- Leo verbally interjected first. "Don't you dare talk about her like that!" Her?! I blinked over to my brother gobsmacked. But… no; that's impossible. He couldn't know that they're talking about Athénaïs, right? Even my other brothers were confused now too.
"Who? April?" Donnie scratched the side of his head. They jeered at his inquiry. "Don't make us laugh. April can't even compare…" "Hey!" Donnie retorted angrily. I noticed Leo's hands tightening on his swords; he looked just as ready to wipe those sickening smirks off their faces- permanently. "I swear… If you've so much as laid a hand on her again…." Again?! What the hell does he mean by "again"?! Why am I getting more and more confused- and angry- by the second?
"You know who they're talking about, Leo?" Our purple-masked brother asked our leader. Leo shuffled a bit awkwardly, glancing off to the side for a second. "Uh, y-yeah…. Last night…. I kinda…" "What?!" I demanded deafeningly. Now everyone blinked to me shocked and alarmed, but I didn't take my eyes off Leo. Wait, so last night when he went out…. The two Purple Dragons are referring to him…. and Athénaïs? He must have rescued her from these creeps, just like I had done previously. And…. "I'm just going to check on something." He was coming to see her again tonight, with me at home…. missing her. I'd never glared at Leo so hard, so enraged before in my life.
I think a fight might have broken out between us if Fong hadn't interrupted. His hand waved up and down in the air dismissively. "Who cares about some broad? I came here for my protection fee!" He proclaimed sharply. "Oh, yeah? Well you ain't getting it!" Mikey spoke for the first time, going head in with his nunchakus. We followed suit, each taking a Purple Dragon on ourselves. I wanted to tackle Fong; I still had some bad blood with him. Besides, I had some rage I needed to get out and required a decent brawl to do so.
Leo must have noticed my unholy mixture of fury and dismay. After punching one of the other three mobsters away, he peered back over his shoulder at me; I was still going toe-to-toe with Fong here. "What's with you, Raph?" "Me?! Nothing, other than my brother's a total back-stabber!" I spat back after dodging one of Fong's punches. "What are you talking about?!" Leo sounded more than a little confused. He's confused?! Oh, who cares?! Let him be confused! Serves him right! He gets on my case about having my own life- which she's at the centre of now- and he ups and does the same damn thing?! I can't stand how mad he makes me! Did he meet Athénaïs? Did he talk to her?! He seems to have a vested interest in her wellbeing now. That jerk! That's not his job! I'm supposed to be the one worrying over Athénaïs; not him! Dammit all!
The fight was evenly matched for longer than expected, which is surprising since two of Fong's cronies were injured. Guess it was easier to beat them when they were threatening a certain someone. The very thought made me punch Fong a little harder, which was good. He stumbled a few feet in front of me, closer to Murakami-san- who was still in pain on the floor. Fong flashed me a dangerous glare, wiping the corner of his mouth. "Ok, no more games," his didn't hold back any venom in his tone. Right after he said this, the back down slid open and my heart couldn't have dropped faster.
This night went from horrible to downright excruciating in a matter of seconds.
