Back with Miles once again, the boy ran through this forest, trying to get to the mine building where he knew Bartie was stuck in. So far, he really saw no sign of any sort of alien soldier who was in here, so that probably means that he is in for the clear to try to find Bartie, then get out of here. He ran until he finally made it to the coal mine building that was right in front of him.
Upon entering the mine, he looks around the building for a couple moments, before looking up to see if Bartie was actually upstairs. As far as Miles was concerned, it appears that there was no sign of any person in the first floor area of this coal mine. Miles was not going down into the caves below unless he actually has to, mainly because he is not a person who likes dark caves that leads off into nothing more but even more darkness. So he wasn't even going to attempt going down there at any moment given to him.
Seeing that the coast was still clear, Miles looks up towards the ceiling above, holding his hands to his mouth. "Bartie! Are you in here?!" Miles shouts, hoping that his friend didn't just run off out of nowhere.
"Up here, Miles!" Bartie shouts from above.
Miles looks up at the platform above him, seeing his best friend standing there, looking down at him. He pulled out a flashlight that he thankfully had in his pocket as he was in his own imagination, which proves to Miles what his friend use to try to get his attention over to the mine to find him. Bartie hops down so that he can be next to his friend.
"I was wondering when you were going to show up. I knew you'd come into my mind to rescue me." Bartie said.
"Wait, how did you know that you were in your own imagination?" Miles asked Bartie. "I don't think the others knew they were in their own imaginations until we came along to tell them." Bartie crosses his arms, before looking over to the entrance to the mine building.
"I had a feeling that I am stuck in a dream...I am lost in this forest, without a scratch on me, and the ship that collected me is nowhere to be found." The boy points to his head, looking at Miles once again. "Between you and me, I always know something is up when I try to collect the facts." Bartie shrugs, before shaking his head. "Or...that's how I am, now that I'm a teen, I'm a little bit more wiser than I was as a kid." Miles nods his head.
"Yeah...I kind of knew what I was dealing with when I realized that I woke up in a desert."
"A desert?"
"It wasn't in this imagination...if I knew, I feel like trying to get all of us out of here would've been a lot more easier." The boy turns around, before walking over to the nearby pole. "...I don't know how I can actually tell you this, Bartie...but...I feel like I need to tell you this so that you're not alarmed about it when you get out of here..." Bartie was a bit confused by where this was going, but Miles kept talking. "...Earth, those GKND members...they just destroyed it...everyone who is left on that planet..."
Bartie stared at Miles, shocked hearing that being said. He wanted to think that Miles was joking about the Earth being gone, but considering that the boy was not smiling saying that, he had no other choice but to take this seriously. He had no idea that this actually happened outside of his own mind.
Feeling like everything is now doomed because of the GKND members, Bartie walked over to the wall, leaning his forehead on it, staring down to the floor in horror. He couldn't believe what he was told. He was just so disturbed at the fact that the planet that he and his friends lived on was now gone for good.
"W-What's the plan now after we all leave?" Bartie asked, rather breathlessly. "...Once we all escape, and...the GKND is defeated...we have no planet to live on...it's impossible for us to..." Miles sighed, before turning towards his best friend again.
"Listen, we're not at that point yet." Miles said. "Listen, me and Julia, we found Hoagie Gilligan...we're at the Moon Base right now, trying to get you, and your friends out of here. Once you and the rest are out, we'll come back for you, and we'll get you all out of here."
"Then what?"
"We'll try to figure that out. For now, we need to try to find the 'Wake Up' Door. It's the only way to get you out of here." Miles looks over to the exit. "By chance, Bartie...do you know if it's nearby?" Bartie shrugged his shoulders, not knowing.
"I checked a majority of the forest, and there's no door in here."
"Not even in the mines?"
"I haven't checked."
The boy's eyes widened hearing that. He had a bad feeling that he would've ended up going into the mines anyway, considering that the door being out there in the forest would've been way too easy for Bartie to escape. He honestly couldn't believe that this was actually going to be happening right now.
Outside of the imaginations of the KND Operatives...
Chad was beginning to wake up himself...
He had no idea where he was at first, since his view was a little bit blurry, but when he finally was awake enough, he finally figured out where he actually was. It appears to be a throne room of some kind, except futuristic, mainly because he was still on the mothership. Nigel Uno was right in front of him, face still completely emotionless. It was just getting downright creepy for Chad to see this kind of face on Nigel.
Shaking out his tiredness, Chad was now seeing everything around him a lot more better. Things were more clearly than how he was seeing them when waking up. After the sight of Nigel caught his eyes, he tried to stand up, only to be stopped by the guards who were still holding him, keeping him from going anywhere. They brought Chad down to his knees, as Nigel began to speak to him.
"You're awake..." Nigel said. "You're just in time for my meeting."
"What's going on here, Nigel?" Chad asked him. "I was trapped inside my cell for who knows how long...days, weeks, I don't know...mostly because you've destroyed Earth, and everyone that I have ever loved!" Nigel remained completely stoic, looking at the teenager in front of him.
"It was only a day, Chad."
"What the hell does that have to do with anything?! I'm saying that you're a complete psycho Numbah 1. If you haven't noticed, you've doomed a majority of the KND, and the GKND's chances of trying to take back the KND...by destroying the planet, and ending the lives of countless people, that probably included the KND operatives themselves."
There was not a single word said after that. However, the only way that Nigel knew that could only try to silence Chad yelling on any further. It seems a little bit of a bad idea on his part, but it was the only way to reassure him that everything was going alright...on Nigel's part, that is.
"All the other KND operatives are safe...former, or were still when the adults took over the Earth..." Nigel said, calmly and emotionlessly. "They are all safe and sound away from the planet. There's a...couple missing, but I assume that all of them managed to find themselves on the Moon Base still. Hopefully, whoever remained on there survived Earth being gone, as the moon was too close to the planet itself."
"You..." Chad said, silently, before glaring at Nigel once again. "...Do you honestly think that THAT is going to make things better?! You don't have any idea what you have done, Nigel! You doomed all of us!"
"This conversation is done. You may go back to your cell now."
"This isn't over, Nigel!" Chad shouts as two alien guards were beginning to take him away from the throne room. "You'll regret what you've done! You'll regret everything!" Nigel ignored that, as he was facing the other way as the doors closed automatically.
Nigel walked away from the spot he was standing at, walking over to the edge of the room where the darkness starts at. A majority of the room was completely dark, leaving two glowing eyes shown inside the darkness. Despite this would be pretty horrifying on first glance, for Nigel, this was just another day for him, considering that he's seen this a couple times, and has gotten use to it. So it doesn't bother him that much.
"Nigel...we've been told about what has been done." The voice from the direction of the eyes said. "Is it true?"
"Indeed..." Nigel said.
"Earth is gone?"
"That is correct."
"I see..." The voice stopped, before the eyes narrowed at him. "...Well, I can't say that the operatives of Sector V escaping, as well as the two new people who were discovered."
"The guards are doing their best to find them." Nigel bows his head. "...They may not be able to even escape this entire mothership, considering what you have told me in the past...nobody has escaped this mothership in the past. Not now, not then, not ever." Nigel looks back behind at the door, still talking in that same stoic tone he's been using this whole entire time. "The soldiers better hope that they don't escape this place with one of those ferry-boats."
"I doubt they will. But considering that they are somehow escaping their imaginations..."
"It's handled." Nigel said, looking at the eyes again. "You're keeping me in trust of all of this...right? I have been leader of Sector V for quite sometime now. If there's a dilemma in the way, I believe that I can have it settled within moments."
"You better, Nigel...because as a new leader of the GKND, I don't intend on somebody being able to have all of what the KND have been trying to do be ruined even worse."
"You have my word."
"Good...this talk is done...you can leave."
The entire room fell completely silent. Not another word was said after that was agreed on. Nigel turns around, heading over to the doors behind him, as the only thing that actually broke the long amount of silence was the two doors opening behind him, letting him walk through to go back to the room where he was at before.
