Chapter 30: Lord Cooler

Flashback

We see four men watching the demise of Planet Vegeta, and Frieza in his first form laughing in glee at what he caused.

One man was green with long black hair and a white helmet, Doore, one had reddish skin with a weird looking head, Neiz, and one had pale purple skin and bleached hair, Salza.

The final one looked like a more aggressive version of Frieza in his fourth form.

Salza, "look Lord Cooler! Your brother Frieza has managed to destroy Planet Vegeta!"

The man known as Cooler said, "oh, wow, killing a bunch of monkey's! Any drunk could've done that."

Salza, "Lord Cooler, there's a lone Saiyan pod rocketing away from the destruction. Shall we go deal with it?"

Cooler, "no. Let it go."

Doore, "huh? But, why boss?"

Cooler, "because if my little brother is going to let stuff like this happen, after begging our father for the entire galaxy, he'll have to face the consequences…."

….

Years later, and soon after the events of Namek.

We see those same men from before on a very windy and barren planet.

Salza ran up to Cooler, "Lord Cooler! Your brother Frieza has been severely injured. By a Saiyan warrior, who is said to live on Earth. Your father has asked for us to go there and hunt down the man who did it while your brother recuperates."

Cooler, "well then, someone grab a phone…."

Doore, "huh? Wha-"

Cooler, "because I f #king called it!"

….

It had been about eight months after the events of Namek. Everything had begun to settle down a bit since then.

Tien and Launch were pretty good parents, Gohan, Chi Cha and Dende grew to love Shaun, and all his little quirks at being four to five months old.

Bulma had been upgrading her suit.

Gine had grown closer to her new family on Earth.

The Z-Fighters all still trained to become stronger. Vegeta had run off with a new spaceship created by Dr. Briefs.

And now, we currently see a small group of our friends on a camping trip.

Raditz, Krillin, Maron, Gohan, Gine, Oolong and Chi Cha were the ones going on the trip.

Gohan's tail had actually managed to grow back a while ago.

Maron had wanted to join her boyfriend camping, and so Raditz had happily agreed. Although, it took a little coaxing at first, since she was pregnant.

Another person to join the trip was a small purple Dragon with horns named Iccarus.

Videl and Erasa had given him to Gohan as a birthday gift when they found him flying around where Videl lived.

Dende was back with Chi Chi and Yamcha. They decided to start training the Namekian to fight, so he could actually help defend his friends and family.

At first, Gohan had wanted to ask Videl and Erasa on the trip, but they were busy.

Gohan and Chi Cha were now both about seven years old, the same age as their friends.

Currently, Krillin was cooking in a skillet with help from Oolong. Gohan and Chi Cha were watching with Iccarus. Maron was laying in the tent, taking a nap.

Raditz and Gine were off gathering firewood. Well, Gine was getting the firewood, Raditz was catching some fish.

Oolong, "so, what're you cooking? Smells fantastic!"

Krillin, "oh, y'know, the average stuff. Carrots, potatoes, some diced beef."

Chi Cha, "just be glad it ain't pork Oolong."

Oolong, "... that's not funny."

Gohan, "he's right…. It's hilarious."

Everyone started chuckling at the joke.

Meanwhile, we see Gine carrying very large stacks of firewood in their arms, and Raditz hefting a large fish on his back.

Their strength allowed them to carry a lot more than a human could.

Both had different outfits. Raditz and Gine both wore armor similar to the old ones, but they looked to be built into normal black shirts and shorts that hugged their bodies.

As they started to walk back to camp at a nice and slow pace, little did they know what they would be in for….

….

And that's when Gohan felt something.

Some strong power levels headed right to them.

But it was too late. Gohan found himself being hit in the back of the neck by Doore.

Krillin was about to tell out, but was struck and knocked out by Salza.

Chi Cha backed up with Oolong and Iccarus to the tent, where Maron had just gotten up, and was very confused.

Doore was holding Gohan by the tail.

Doore, "hey look, the world's weirdest zoo animal!"

Salsa was starting to eat the stew, "I'm surprised that this stew doesn't taste that bad."

"Hey!"

Everyone turned to see Raditz standing there, glaring at them. The fish had been dropped nearby.

Raditz, "you leave my nephew, my girlfriend, my student, the monk, the pig and the dragon alone! In THAT order!"

Gine was hiding nearby, acting as hidden back up.

Salza, "well well, zhis must be ze monkey we 'ave been looking for."

Raditz, "what did you say?"

Doore dropped Gohan and said, "oy, 'e said dat dis is da monkey we've been lookin' for."

Raditz, "wha-"

Neiz just spoke gibberish.

Raditz, "... just who the Hell are you idiots?"

They all started doing weird poses as they said in unison, "We are; Cooler Assault Squadron!"

"..."

"..."

"... I have the worst case of deja vu right now."

All three men lunged at Raditz. He quickly began dodging their attacks. Salza tried blasting Raditz, but he quickly deflected the blast, and it seemed it hit Neiz in the face, blowing off his head. But then it just popped up like a gopher out of a hole.

All of the assailants suddenly freaked out and sped to the ground and bowed.

Salza, "w-we have zhis under control Lord Cooler."

Raditz heard an icy voice say, "it took us three months to get here. I'm not wasting time on the ship."

Raditz turned, and felt a chill up his spine.

Standing there was Cooler. Raditz hadn't heard of Frieza's brother, since he was kept mostly a mystery by everyone.

Raditz, "F-Frieza?!"

Salza, "ha! You think zhis is Lord Frieza. No, he is Lord Cooler."

Raditz, "cooler? He must be Ice cold."

Raditz tried to chuckle at his bad attempt at a joke.

Cooler, "no, that's our father. And you must be the one who killed my brother?"

Raditz, "wrong. That was MY brother. He's off on another planet right now."

Cooler, "well, you'll have to do as revenge for now."

Cooler looked over at Gohan, who had been picked up by Maron.

Cooler, "oh? And who are they? Nephew, you said? And who's the woman?"

Raditz, "leave them out of this. This is between us!"

Cooler, "if I recall, the boy was with all of you on that planet when you fought my brother. So, he's a part of this. The woman being involved with you, makes her a part of this as well."

Cooler shot two beams of energy from his eyes. Before they could strike them, Raditz grabbed them and flew forward as fast as he could. But when he got to the nearby waterfall, the blast hit him, sending all three of them down.

Cooler and his men were at the edge of the waterfall, but couldn't see their targets.

Cooler, "who thinks they're dead?"

Doore, "dead."

Salza, "expired."

Neiz, "bleh!"

Cooler, "well, too bad. I pay you three, now go and find them! Torch the forest if you must."

"Yes Lord Cooler!"

….

Back with the others, Gine had just managed to shake Krillin awake.

She had Chi Cha cover her ears as Gine yelled, "hey, Krillin, there's a hot blonde woman who's completely naked!"

That managed to wake Krillin up, since he had a thing for blondes.

Krillin, "gah! Ugh, what did I miss?"

Gine, "I'll explain on the way. We've gotta find Raditz, Maron and Gohan. They fell off of that waterfall. Iccarus should be able to track them down with its nose."

….

Gohan and Maron had managed to drag Raditz into a nearby cave after they had swam away in the river. That was pretty hard, considering Maron's pregnant belly, and Gohan's size compared to Raditz, but they managed. Raditz was now unconscious because of the attack from Cooler.

Gohan was peeking out of the cave, "we should be safe here until the others find us."

Maron wouldn't leave Raditz's side.

Gohan, "I'm sure my uncle will be fine Maron. He's tough."

Maron, "I know. I just get worried. Especially with us having a baby soon."

Gohan, "it's gonna be alright. Trust me."

And that's when it happened. Suddenly, Cooler's men began shooting countless bolts of energy at the forest below. This caused the cave they were in to cave in, trapping the three of them in the dark.

Outside of the cave, who could hear the muffled voice of Gohan say, "aw crap-baskets."

….

A little while later, it was night time. We see Krillin, Oolong, Iccarus, Chi Cha and Gine carefully making their way around.

But Iccarus started sniffing around a bunch of rocks.

Krillin, "Iccarus, I swear if this is another dead rabbit, I'm gonna kill you!"

They ran up to the rocks.

Gine yelled, "Gohan? Raditz? Maron? Are you in there?!"

That's when they heard Gohan.

Gohan, "Krillin! We're trapped behind these rocks! We're running out of air! Help us!"

Krillin, "wait, can't Raditz bench press a planet?"

Maron, "Krillin, move the damned rocks!"

About half an hour later, they had managed to free the others.

Gine asked, "what happened after Raditz got blasted?"

Maron, "we swam away, and hid in this cave when those guys started blasting the forest, looking for us."

Oolong, "we need to get Raditz a sensu bean!"

Gohan, "I'll head to Korrins Tower on Iccarus. They won't detect me that way."

Chi Cha, "I'll go with you."

Krillin, "me and Gine will stay here to protect Oolong and Raditz while you're gone."

Gohan, "right."

And with that, the two kids set off on Iccarus towards Korrin's Tower.

….

Later

The sun was beginning to rise as Gohan and Chi Cha finally made it to the tower. There, they saw Yajirobe sweeping.

Chi Cha, "Yajirobe? What're you doing here?"

Yajirobe, "I live here now. I do chores, Kprrin lets me stay here."

Gohan, "what kind of chores?"

Yajirobe, "sweeping, help cook, give Korrin belly rubs, the usual."

Gohan, "... okay. Uh, we need some sensu beans! My uncle's hurt badly, and there's some powerful fighters after us!"

Yajirobe, "alright. Gimme a sec while I go fetch Korrin."

Yajirobe walked off, leaving Gohan, Chi Cha and Iccarus to look around the room.

It looked nice, but a little messy in the couch area.

Soon, Korrin and Yajirobe walked in with a bag of sensu beans.

Korrin, "somebody call the bean-daddy?"

Yajirobe, "that's MY nickname."

Korrin, "whatever, Whiskers the Wonder Cat."

Korrin, "I told you about that in confidence!"

Yajirobe just tossed the bag over to Gohan.

Gohan, "thanks guys!"

Chi Cha, "see you later!"

Before Gohan could run off, Yajirobe yelled, "hey kids!"

Gohan and Chi Cha turned, and saw Yajirobe toss him an extra bean. He caught it as Yajirobe said, "just in case."

Gohan, "thanks again!"

Chi Cha, "be safe!"

Gohan and Chi Cha jumped on Iccarus and flew away.

As they did, Yajirobe and Korrin looked on.

Yajirobe, "those kids sure are something, huh?"

Korrin, "... yep. They sure are."

Yajirobe, "you ever wonder what it would be like if we ever took in a kid?"

Korrin, "eh, sometimes."

….

Later, Gohan and Chi Cha were flying atop Iccarus, and getting close to their destination.

Chi Cha, "let's hope those jerks didn't find them."

Gohan, "yeah, that'd be b-"

"Hello Diddy!"

They quickly looked behind them to see Coolers men floating behind them.

Salza, "where's Donkey?"

Gohan, "aw crap-baskets!"

Iccarus tried flying faster, but Neiz fired a blast of energy, sending Iccarus down to the ground as Doore grabbed the kids by their heads.

Doore, "hey guys, remember when I popped that guys skull until his eyes popped out? How about we try to recreate that!"

Doore began squeezing, but before he could kill the kids, Doore was hit in the back by a blast of energy, making him let go of the kids.

Then they all heard someone yell, "hey, knock-off Ginyu Force!"

They all turned to see Piccolo floating there, glaring.

Piccolo, "you messed with the wrong kids."

Salza, "excuse me? Do you know who we are?"

Piccolo, "let me guess? Dumb one, pretty one, weird one?"

Doore, "hey! I'd day I'm more handsome than pretty."

Salza, "and my powers are not zhat weird!"

Neiz, "and I passed basic math!"

That last one sounded like gibberish.

Piccolo, "... I take it back. You're all idiots."

The three fighters dashed towards Piccolo, allowing the kids to fly away as fast as they could.

Doore noticed this and flew after them.

Piccolo noticed as well, and as he fought the other two, he formed a very powerful ball of energy. It sailed right past Neiz' head, making him think he dodged it.

Salza, "you idiot! Zhat was for Doore!"

Doore saw the ball, and tried to avoid it, even dashing past the kids, but he was ultimately engulfed by it, killing him instantly.

Neiz was angered by this, and suddenly fired a blast of purple energy that hit Piccolo, and started to electrocute him.

Salza, "nice work! You finish him off, I'll deal with those weaklings!"

As Salza flew off, Neiz made his way over to Piccolo. He started cackling, but it quickly vanished as Piccolo smirked at him.

Piccolo, and Nail in his head, "gotcha bitch!"

Piccolo threw his hands up to Neiz' head, and instantly burnt him to a crisp!

Piccolo quickly started racing after Salza through the forest. As the two sped by each other, Nail said, "hey, this reminds me from that scene in Return of the Jedi. Y'know, that film Gohan showed us?"

Piccolo, 'not now Nail!'

Piccolo used his extending arms to punch Salza from far away. Salza then made a blade of energy from his arm.

"Check it out! It's a lightsaber!"

Piccolo, 'no it's not!'

"C'mon, it makes the same noise and everything!"

Piccolo continued to avoid the blade as they flew through the air.

Piccolo, "is that all you've got?"

Salza, "anything you could do to me wouldn't be as bad as what HE would do to me!"

"That's HE is capital letters, by the way!"

Piccolo turned around, and felt a beam of energy blast through his chest!

….

Gohan and Chi Cha had managed to get back to the cave.

Gohan, "we've got the sensu beans!"

Krillin, "oh thank Kami. Quickly, hand them over!"

Before they could get anything done, the beans were blasted out of Chi Cha's hand!

Raditz was conscious enough to say, "y'know, my brother said that cooking makes them taste worse."

The culprit was Salza.

Salza, "oh, I'm sorry, did you need those?"

Krillin, "those things were our only hope you bastard!"

Krillin and Gine flew out and began attacking Salza.

Gohan quickly pulled out the extra sensu bean Yajirobe had given him and with help from Oolong, fed it to his uncle.

Salza had just kicked Gine and Krillin away when his scouter began beeping.

He turned to the cave, "what the? Where is that strength coming from?! The only ones in the cave were the kids, pig and the injured Saiyan!"

Before Salza could blink, a blast of energy hit him in the chest, knocking him into the side of a boulder, knocking him out, and covering him in rocks.

Raditz came out of the cave, looking better than ever. Everyone came out after him. Except for Oolong.

Chi Cha suddenly noticed Iccarus flying towards them. She was overjoyed and ran to the dragon, along with Gohan.

Raditz, "now…. Where's the bastard who blasted me, and dared to hurt my friends and family?"

"What does this constitute as then?"

Everyone looked up to see Cooler holding Piccolo's unconscious body.

Cooler, however, looked much different. His exoskeleton was spiked, his eyes red and his mouth covered. He looked like a cross between the Shredder and a prehistoric devil!

He had transformed before getting here, as he didn't want to take a chance like his brother did, only transforming when the situation was moving in his favor less and less.

Cooler, "I'm going to guess friend?"

Raditz, "Piccolo! Let him go!"

Cooler, "very poor choice of words."

Cooler threw the Namekian down to the ground. When he hit it, he was about to blast the unconscious fighter, but before anyone could blink, Gohan had run forward and pushed Piccolo out of the way!

The blast engulfed the child!

Raditz, "GOHAN!"

Raditz and Chi Cha ran to Gohan. He was slumped over on the ground. Raditz quickly checked his pulse. It was faint but it was there.

They all heard Cooker say, "pity. I was kind of hoping the blue haired woman would've done it. That would've been two deaths for the price of one!"

At that very moment, seeing Gohan like that, and hearing someone threaten his fiance and unborn child, something snapped inside of Raditz.

He began shaking, his breathing getting heavier and more frantic.

Raditz, "Maron, take Gohan and the others and get out of here."

Maron, "Raditz?"

Raditz, "just do it!"

The ground around Raditz began to shake.

Armob quickly took Gohan into her arms and ran off with the others. Gine wanted to stay and fight, but something told her to go with the others, and let Raditz handle this.

Gine And Krillin helped Piccolo up as Maron carried Gohan. Chi Cha and Oolong were right behind them.

Before they all left, Gine yelled to get son, "good luck!"

With that, Raditz slowly stood to his full height. His hair began twitching as his eyes slowly started to turn green.

The sky around them started to get a little darker, as Raditz began howling in rage!

His hair became a long flowing mane of golden spikes, as his green eyes glared up at the now frightened looking tyrant above him.

Cooler, "this can't be! I thought the other one was the Super Saiyan!?"

Raditz spoke in a menacing tone, "you guessed wrong you bastard."

Raditz streaked across the sky.

The fight began.

Cooler and Raditz seemed evenly matched, as the fight continued. Raditz was like a machine, constantly striking anywhere he could on his foe.

Cooler knew that strength wasn't going to work against Raditz. So, he formulated a plan. Cooler kept dodging the attacks as best as he could. As this happened, he slowly began forming a ball of energy above them. Once it finished charging, he would send it down and destroy this planet, and Raditz with it!

Cooler knocked Raditz to the ground, and was about to stomp his head and say, "look at me! I'm planting a dumbass tree!"

But Raditz was able to move out of the way, and knocked both of them into the nearby river.

The fight was relentless, until Cooler was able to get a strike on Raditz, sending him down to the ground.

Cooler quickly flew up to the large ball of sparking red and black energy.

Raditz looked up at it, and knew what Cooler was trying to do!

Cooler, "did Frieza ever make this?"

Raditz, "yeah, but his was smaller."

Cooler, "ha! I knew it!"

Cooler threw down the attack. It slowly made its way down to Earth.

Quickly, Raditz decided to use his brothers most famous attack.

He only hoped he could pull it off.

Raditz, "KAAAAAAA. MEEEEEEE!"

The orb got closer.

Raditz, "HAAAAAAA. MEEEEEEE!"

Right as the orb was about to land on top of Raditz.

"HAAAAAAAAAAA!"

Instantly, the orb started moving backwards towards Cooler.

Cooler, "w-what the?!"

The blast was about to hit Cooler, but he tried holding it back.

And that was when Raditz yelled, "KAIOKEN TIMES TWO!"

Cooler, "Kaio-wha-!"

And that's when the blast easily hit Cooler, sending him higher and higher, until he actually left Earth's atmosphere!

Cooler was barely holding on as the blast carried him through the vacuum of space.

And that's when Cooler spotted it. He was headed straight for the sun!

Cooler, "no! No! No! No! No!"

But it was too late.

"Well, at least I'm still Cooler than Frieza."

The blast hit the sun, knocking Cooler out of his transformation, and as the blast entered the sun, all that was left of Cooler was part of his head, his torso and arm.

Cooler's body remained still as it floated through space.

….

Raditz was breathing heavily as he powered down from his transformation.

And that's when he heard the familiar yell of, "RADITZ!"

He turned just in time to catch Maron in his arms.

Everyone else was nearby, glad that he was okay.

Gine, "did you get him?"

Raditz, "yeah. I got him. It wasn't easy though."

Gohan was finally awake, and smiling up at his uncle.

Krillin, "so…. Now Raditz is a Super Saiyan too, huh?"

Gine, "apparently. Imagine that. I'm the mother of TWO Super Saiyans."

Krillin, "I'll tell you what, this has been one Hell of a camping trip."

And that's when they heard it.

Salza had finally come to, and was calling like a madman as he pointed his outstretched hand at them to blast them all. Raditz's transformation had taken it out of him, so he couldn't do anything.

Before Salza could fire though, Piccolo pointed a finger and blasted him through the chest.

This made Salza fall to his knees as his dying words were, "I will see you in Hell, Cousin Jeice."

And with that, the let member of the Cooler Assault Squadron was dead.

Raditz looked at Piccolo, "nice job Piccolo."

Piccolo, "it was no trouble."

And that was the end of the group's fight with Cooler….

The poll is now closed. The final results mean that one of my next stories will be set in the Bruce Timm DCAU.

The plot is currently in the works. Several ideas for it have been made. Some include just a romance between Batman and one of the DC women, the Teen Titans story told in this universe, a Batman version of SpiderMan: Edge of Time, where Batman would meet Batmen from the past and future, or whatever I can think of.

The poll for the romance in my Ben 10 story will be up now. Please vote on it to see who Ben will be with in the story.

Raditz has become a Super Saiyan, and Maron will have her daughter probably around the same time Goku lands on Earth.

And yep, I included Iccarus. He's pretty much gonna be a house pet at Capsule Corp. While Goku likes to use the Flying Nimbus, Gohan uses Iccarus.

The next few chapters may be a little shorter than normal, as we just focus on the characters relaxing.

I might mention the Garlic Jr. Saga, but I might not focus on it too much. Like, it gets mentioned in passing or something, kinda like the filler from Snake Way and the stuff on the way to Namek.
