Hello everyone,
I am not surprised at the amount of people who were angry that we didn't get to see the immediate fall-out, or the introduction into the Ace Trainer. I'll go over those details as time passes on. I could have done immediate reactions of some of the characters, like Oak, or Brody. But I kind of wanted y'all to fill those details in yourself.
Because, in my mind, it's obvious that they happened. I think we can all agree that we know what the media will be saying about it. We all know how Brody and Oak stand on it. And we all know that legal battles like that, will take a long time to come to fruition. That's why I didn't really hit on that stuff, but I will eventually.
Anyway, on to the chapter.

"So what now?"
"Well, you've officially been drafted into the Mega Program. And you have the protection of the Ace Trainer title. We should be able to take a breather." Professor Oak responded.
We sat on his back porch, like we always did in the mornings, drinking coffee and enjoying the world.
I groaned. "Don't jinx it!"
"Oh stop being superstitious. It's ridiculous."
I rolled my eyes. How can a former champion not believe in such things? Surely he had plenty of evidence of the universe proving him wrong.
"How close are we?" I asked, changing the subject. We both knew it was about Mega Evolution. He should have been done with his data mining.
"I said we could take a breather, Brawly. You know, a break?" Oak said with a smirk.
I just smiled back at him.
My back hit the mat with a thud. I couldn't help but tense.
"Like that?" My student asked from her position above me.
"Perfect." I confirmed with a strained smile.
Nobody that knew Daisy Oak before and after our experiments into Mega Evolution could say that I was more aggressive. The consequences to fighting type energy seemed to breed competition inside me. The dragon type energy she was now adapted to, seemed to want to dominate, that's all. And yet, she could be the sweetest thing in the mornings when she woke up.
I had never expected her to begin cooking breakfast for Professor Oak and I. The fairy type energy is what I started to blame for this side of her. At first, the mood swings were annoying. Now they were almost endearing. All three of us started to adapt to a schedule. More like Daisy and I adapted to Oak's schedule. Early mornings, coffee, bacon and eggs or pancakes.
Once that was done, Daisy was insistent on taking me up on sparring every morning. What she lacked in skill, she made up for in aggression. So eventually I stopped beating her up, and began teaching her. Although I couldn't do it like my dad taught me.
When I was younger, we went through many phases. First it was form and discipline. After that, came light sparring. Then wrestling. I can't tell you how many times my dad and I rolled. Finally, in my teenage years we began to put that all together, combined with weapon defense and offense.
Daisy was not patient enough to go through this routine. So we sparred, and as we did that I would stop and show her the mistake she made and correct it. It didn't matter if it was striking or wrestling. Most of the time it was both.
She enjoyed hip tossing me though.
We were interrupted by both of our pokegear ringing out a very specific alarm. It was the alarm of an Ace Trainer call.
We both jumped up and flew into motion. Minato teleported into the room, sensing my thoughts. He was already gathering the team. I threw on my navy blue vest and Minato teleported us out of the room.
Most of my pokemon were on the back lawn of Professor Oak's house. Hashi was busy entertaining our newest family member. He seemed to love the little dreepy. I couldn't blame him, the way she barked was the cutest thing in the world.
Madara sprinted across the field immediately behind Oak's house, and a roar above the clouds told me that Tobirama was on his way too. I couldn't help but smile at the thought of him flying to me from the lake. I started recalling all of my pokemon, except for Minato. I waited for Tobi to get close enough to his pokeball and I recalled him before he could hit the ground.
When I turned, Daisy was teleporting into the clearing also. "Team Rocket. Game Corner of Celadon." Daisy explained.
Shit. That triggered a memory of the first games. Was Red involved?
The world twisted.
I was greeted at the familiar site of Celadon city. I didn't get a good look at it the first time, and I wouldn't get a good look at it this time. The world started to clarify, and I could feel the adrenaline start to flow. I was starting to properly adapt to the fighting type energy.
There was an alakazam, a male pyroar, and a blastoise already released onto the field.
I released Madara immediately. He was always a go to when it came to situations like these. His speed was invaluable. Hashi was next.
"Class 9 on the field!"
I turned to see the familiar form of Troy barking orders. His alakazam floated beside him. I mentally noted that there was a champion level pokemon in play.
"Scratch that! Class 9 and 10!"
That actually made my eyes widened. 10 was the designation for legendary, or unknown. With Team Rocket, that did not bode well for us. Most of the time those readings were wrong. It was simply Troy's psychic feeling the energy of the pokemon in the area. Sometimes, those readings were deceptive. But the League always erred on the side of caution.
Where is Red?
"Where is the trainer who reported this?" I asked immediately.
Troy didn't bother with words, instead he pointed at the building in front of us. 'Game Corner' was plastered on the front of it.
Find him Minato.
"You are not to engage until I…"
He's in trouble. Minato's voice rang out in my head, drowning out Troy's order.
Let's go. Shields up on entry. Grab and go.
The world twisted and it was a good thing that I commanded shields immediately.
I appeared near Red's side in the narrow hallway. I got a hold of the situation with a glance and decided that the terrain didn't allow for fighting properly. My pokemon were too big to change the fight. Because on the opposite end of the narrow hallway, stood a fucking Metagross, barely fitting in between the walls. And there was a charizard heading our direction, courtesy of a psychic from the pseudo-legendary.
The charizard's wings scraped along the walls as it barrelled to us. Minato reacted to my thoughts and he grabbed everything he could.
I don't know how he managed to get everyone out of there, but all four of us landed on the ground in front of the Game Corner. It all happened in the span of two seconds. I heard Madara growling towards the Game Corner as I stood up.
There was blood on my hands. I traced it, to see that Red's arm was almost severed near the shoulder.
"Medic!" I yelled.
Daisy's Gardevior was already on it, and Red's arm was enveloped in a pink glow. I stepped away, knowing it was handled and turned to the Ace Trainers on the sight. Troy, Daisy, another man I didn't recognize, and the leader of the Celadon City Gym looked towards Red's direction.
"Metagross." I told them quickly. "I didn't get to see the other. Recall his charizard."
Whoever was the metagross' trainer, decided that simply teleporting out to another hideout wasn't what he wanted to do. Apparently he wanted to show his face. It was a face I was not expecting.
The man wore a white peacoat that buttoned near the belly button, black pants with blue trim on the bottom, a black shirt with blue trim, and a headdress that twisted around his blonde hair. I did not recognize him. That was not a good sign.
Him and his metagross teleported above the roof of the Game Corner, floating in the air. The class 10 pokemon made itself known then. Except it did not teleport, it rocketed through the building, punching a hole through the roof.
It was a fucking Genesect. As in, mythical pokemon Genesect.
"What the fuck is that?" I heard Troy ask.
I could have answered, but Erika beat me to it. "Classified, bug and steel mythical." Was the only explanation we got. It was the only one we needed. Four times weakness to fire. With the Metagross being weak to fire also, Madara was an obvious choice if this dissolved into a fight.
Sacred fire. I didn't even wait for the order to attack, not with these pokemon. But I did know orders of engagement, and I was in the clear in the eyes of the league. Red's blood on the ground would prove that. If it came to protecting ordinary trainers, or civilians, almost anything went.
Madara obeyed and bathed the world in a blue flame. That bought my comrades time to release the proper pokemon.
Erika released the biggest Venusaur I had the pleasure of seeing. The ones on the ranch didn't even come close. It was her ace, the pokemon that won her the Celadon City Gym.
The man I didn't recognize released a houndoom, a pokemon I was learning was very common for its usefulness at the higher ranks of battling. It's typing was so useful.
Even though Troy already had a fire type on the field. His next pokemon would be invaluable in the coming fight. It was a banette, the first I had seen in this life.
"Sacred fire?" The floating man's voice was smooth, and calculated. "No wonder he is so interested in you."
The blonde haired Leader stared straight at me, the youngest of all the trainers who stood across from him.
Who is he so interested in me?
Six powerful attacks flew in the direction of the man and his two pokemon. His metagross rose one shield, one fucking shield. All of the attacks couldn't break through it. I couldn't even fathom the amount of psychic power that would take.
And then I saw it.
On the metagross' front right paw-leg-thing, a shiny gem sat. It was the same color as it's steel body, so it was hard to spot. It was a mega stone.
"Mega on the field!" I called it out as soon as possible.
And then Madara was covered in flame, and barreling into the genesect that had it's sharp sword or an arm about to pierce my chest. I hadn't seen the genesect move. Luckily, I had an arcanine.
The genesect and Madara became blurs around the battlefield then. None of my other pokemon, or the pokemon of the trainers beside me could keep up. Minato had a hard time getting a read on the genesect. Really, he had zero read on the bug/steel type. It was as if he didn't exist.
That meant he couldn't predict where to teleport to. He could keep up through Madara's mind, but he couldn't teleport to the locations in time.
Luckily, Madara was holding his own with the mythical pokemon. Although, where his flames should have melted through the metal carapace of the genesect, it didn't even warp the steel. Had it been a scizor, Madara would have killed it already.
Sacred fire, instead of normal flames.
Madara obeyed, and started channeling the move of Ho-oh. His fire fangs, powered by the sacred fire began to win the small skirmishes they were having, and the steel started to warp on the genesect, however small it was.
Why is everyone just watching us fight? Fucking do something.
They were actually being useful and doing things, but every attack was thwarted by the metagross by either teleporting or blocking them.
"Fine. If you can not attack, then I will."
The battle changed, and not in our favor. For the first time in my life, I saw a mega evolution.
It was no different than a normal evolution, except for the raw power the world was subjected to. Why had Arceus decided that metagross needed a mega evolution? It was already so powerful.
The blonde haired leader rose a wrist and tapped a button sequence on the band that sat there. He didn't even flinch as his body was filled with steel and psychic type energy.
The world lit up, despite it being in the middle of the day.
It was hard to tell the difference between metagross and its mega form with just eyes. The big difference was the psychic power that filled the area. I had only felt it once before in my life, and that was the night Mewtwo had ruined Cinnabar Island.
This was bad.
I had to catch myself from face planting on the concrete below me. It was if gravity had just increased dramatically. I knew it was most likely just psychic energy, like telekinesis.
Hashi was barely standing, and I knew it was only his raw strength keeping him on his feet. He slowly lumbered in front of me.
That didn't stop me from noticing my arcanine get stabbed through his midsection. Blood splattered on the ground. I tried to reach for his pokeball but I couldn't move. Panic surged through me, that could be fatal.
Madara yelped and tried to retreat, but he could also barely move, although it was better than Hashi's struggles. The genesect had no such problems and was already sending an arm towards Madara's head.
NO!
My hand started working, and I was able to grab his pokeball and return him quickly. He disappeared into a red light, just as the genesect thrust his hand forward.
Relief flooded me.
"Ha! Quite ingenious!" The blonde haired man said as he watched it all happen. "What a team!"
I looked to my arm to see that Minato, who was also on the ground, immobilized by the telekinesis was holding a shadow ball in his hand, right next to my pokeballs. The proximity of the ghost energies must have been enough to free my hand. I had never been so thankful in my life.
The genesect didn't stop his attack though and this time, he targeted my hypno. My emotions couldn't even react as he appeared above Minato with his sword-like arms.
"That's enough. He's done." The blonde haired man said, and the genesect paused before speeding over to his master.
The ground started to rumble, and I realized why the Leader hadn't bothered to just teleport straight out.
The game corner collapsed into the ground beneath him, just as a steelix emerged from the ground. It all made sense. The man was just stalling so that all of the evidence of the operation could be destroyed.
Would he kill us all now? Why wouldn't he? I had never felt so hopeless in my life, and I think that was mirrored by my comrades on the ground. A Gym Leader, and three Ace Trainers, two of who were in the top five, brought low by a single pokemon.
Metagross, Steelix, and Genesect. Was this the real Leader of Team Rocket. Was it not Giovanni in this world?
"Now you understand. You understand how hopeless it is to face us. I should probably kill you, but truthfully, it won't matter in the end. This world will be ours, like all the others."
He disappeared.
For the next twelve hours, I was stuck in a room and interrogated by my own people. The debrief was as tiresome as the fallout of the event.
Everything had been caught on tape, and released to the world. I knew it was Team Rocket's doing.
"The man in the video, shown absolutely destroying some of Kanto's brightest trainers, had been identified as Colress, an international criminal. He's wanted on such a long list of charges, it would be impossible to name them all. Any and all trainers are commanded to flee on sight. Do not engage the target. Is our only hope Lance?"
I stared at the tv, registering the words but not truly hearing it. Colress huh?
"As you can see, the newest sensation of the Indigo Plateau, Brawly and his arcanine were faring much better than his comrades. In the end 'The Legendary Pokemon' was not enough for this mysterious new pokemon. How can a steel type move so fast?"
Fuck, now they were talking about me.
"This comes right after major criticism of the league after Brawly's last gym match against Clair. Nothing has been confirmed, but the blatant interference in the match, combined with this? Can the League protect us anymore? Does it even want to?"
I stood up, angry at the television. Angry because of how truthful the report was. Could we protect the people of Kanto? Johto? Or any other region with monsters like Colress roaming around. I moved to the back door, ready for the day.
"His charizard evolved. It was too early, he'll be unstable for a while."
I walked out to hear Daisy telling Professor Oak of Red and the latest development. Oak had been in a different state since Daisy and I had returned close to 2 a.m. last night. His face was permanently locked into a state of concentration. Or rather, his champion mode was activated.
"We'll have to beat it out of him. We are out of time. They don't have that luxury anymore." Oak replied seriously. He was talking of Red and Gary.
"Nobody does." I interrupted.
"About time you joined us." Oak said. It was not a joke, or a tease. He was dead serious. "We have shit to do, boy."
I couldn't help but let a smile across my face.
"Where do we start?" I asked.
"We're skipping a few steps. No more tests, it's time for the real deal." Oak said.
"You think you can handle that?"
"Are you ready?"
I answered so fast, because I knew the answer. "Fuck no, but let's do it."
I stood in the underground training facility of my fathers. Five other people were there. Professor Oak and his alakazam, Brody with Junior and poliwhirl, Lance with his charizard, Stephen and his shiny metagross, and Daisy and her gardevoir.
I hadn't even had time to say hello to Stephen, or apologize to Lance. Nobody was in the mood for games, or apologies. We needed results for the Mega Program… yesterday.
That didn't mean I didn't admire the monster of a charizard from afar. Or the shiny metagross, whose presence I couldn't help but think was muted because of my previous experiences with his race and Mewtwo.
It's been two weeks since the incident in Celadon, and the whole time we have been setting up my father's underground training facility for today. Devices that acted as video recorders and data scanners lined the walls.
At the end of the corridor, near the elevator, was a myriad of equipment like computers and such were stacked. A single Nidoking had elevated a wall of the earth, cutting off the equipment from the main corridor. He would stay there and defend the equipment, should Hashi go ballistic.
Butterflies lined my stomach as Hashi sat in the middle of the corridor, in a meditative position. I could see the golden weaved brace that had been implanted on his body.
His mega stone was held in the middle of the braid on his back by a series of golden threads that wove through his hair and into his scalp. Oak claimed that the mega stone wouldn't be going anywhere anytime soon. Apparently the alloy was stronger than the material in my Ace Trainer gear. I didn't know how it was possible but just accepted it.
"Test number 1, begin in 10. Trainers, be prepared."
The ten seconds lasted forever. Hashi and I stared at each other from across the corridor. I knew he could feel the encouraging thoughts I was sending his way. He could also feel my nervousness.
"Two."
Let's go Hashi. Let's fucking go. Come on.
"One."
You'll be ok! Stay in control.
The world clarified, the same way it normally did when my body started to use the meager amounts of fighting type energy I could. My muscles tensed.
Nothing happened to Hashi at first, but he had closed his eyes, and his massive hands gripped the earth beneath him. It took three whole seconds to trigger the mega evolution.
A white light sprang from Hashi's form.
Oak's Alakazam teleported on the opposite side of Hashi.
Daisy's Gardevoir teleported to the right of him.
Junior teleported to the left of him.
And then an even bigger hand than normal shot out of the white light and smacked the ground beside Hashi.
The earth fucking rumbled.
A second hand shot out and slapped the ground. The floor beneath us shook again.
He was fine, I could feel it. It was successful. Something in my body screamed it was successful. If I had to describe the feeling, it was like… divinity.
"Hari!"
Hashi let out a cry of triumph and I saw his new body stand up. I couldn't make out any details, because of the white light still coming off of his form.
"Not possible."
"What's wrong?" Stephen asked.
The light from Hashi's body dimmed, showcasing his new form.
I didn't turn, but I did hear Oak mutter his next words. My eyes widened from taking in Hashi's new evolution, and from what Oak said.
"Pure Power."
A/N: Boom!
Haaaaa cliff hanger. You know I had to do it to you!
So many things. Colress and his metagross. Mega Evolution. Team Rocket. Red and his, now, charizard. Some more fallout from the league.
Can anyone predict what kind of Mega Evolution I have planned for Hashi? What about his looks? How will his body change? His stats?
I already gave you guys a clue.
Let's talk about it in the reviews!
