Enjoy!

Gajeel

"Shrimp." I said my voice gravelly, "Your gonna walk yourself to death if you keep pacing," I tell her, my voice tinged with amusement.

No response.

She's ignoring me.

I sigh out, "Levy," I say, getting up from my spot on the bed, and walk over to the little blue mage, "Levy, stop," I tell her sternly, placing my hands on her shoulders.

Suddenly, her eyes lock on mine.

Hazel brown beautiful eyes that can see right into my deep, dark cold heart.

I watched as her features softened, and I watched as she surrendered over to me, and I guided her over to the bed.

"Ok," I tell her once I'm comfortable, "Whatchya got?" I ask her, knowing her brain is about to explode with all her unanswered questions.

"So, she really said she was your daughter?" Levy asked, her eyes filled with wonder and fear.

"Yes Levy," I tell her, not breaking eye contact.

I watched as tears filled her eyes.

"Ah, you know I hate it when you cry shrimp," I tell her, gathering her small figure in my arms, cocooning her in my embrace.

She buried her face in my chest, and I felt my heart tighten.

"I know what yer thinkin, and I'm tellin you to stop," I tell her, gently lifting her face up so I can look into her eyes, "You know that there is no one else I would rather be with," I tell her, my thumb gently caressing her cheek.

Apparently, that was the wrong to say because she started sobbing.

Damnit.

I quickly ran through all of the advice Juvia gave me, trying to find a solution before I started crying like a little sap.

Gajeel-kun just be there for her...

I swear that's what I'm doing now, but I must be doing it wrong.

Finally, Levy ceases to torture me and looks up, tears streaming down her face. I watch as a sad smile forms on her face, and she lifts a hand to my face.

"I can see what's going through your head," She says, laughing softly, "You're too kind Gajeel," She says, placing a soft kiss on my noise.

If it were anyone else, they'd be dead before they could even think...but shrimp is different.

She places her forehead on mine and looks at me, "I know you love me, and you know I love you, but Gajeel, think about it-," She cuts off, abruptly standing up, and resumes her pacing.

"Shrimp, not this again," I groan out, already missing the feeling of her body next to mine, "Will you just tell me what's got you so worked up?!" I ask her exasperated, "I thought I knew but it's obvious I don't," I tell her, feeling confused as to what the problem is.

She just looks at me as if to say, 'You dumb man .'

Not the first time I've gotten that look and it's certainly not the last.

"Gajeel, this girl who claims to be your daughter," She says, taking a deep shaky breath, "She beat you," She whispers, wrapping her arms around herself, "She sounds so strong...how could I ever hope to be the mother...we both know that's not possible," She chokes out, her eyes filled with misery as she looks at me.

I don't get it. I just told her she's the only one for me.

"Shrimp," I say cautiously, easing myself off the bed and walk over to her as if she's a wild animal that's about to run away, "What are you talking about?" I ask her, placing my hands on her arms gently, caging her between my arms.

One look and I knew I messed up.

"YOU STUPID MAN!" She yells ferociously and then runs out of our room, slamming the door harshly as she makes her exit, leaving me dumbfounded.

I look up at the ceiling of our room.

You never told me women were so complicated ya rustbucket.

Natsu

"What are you laughing at Natsu?" Lucy asked me, her face scrunched up in confusion, as she looked at me, her glasses on her face as she was finally pulling her face out of the book she was reading.

Nerd.

"Are you finally ready to play with us Lucy?!" Happy asked excitedly, wings appearing on his back as he flew around the room.

I watched as Lucy's faced contorted, whatever she was about to say she wasn't happy about it.

"Normally I would, but I can't Happy," She says, her voice sad at the thought, "I have to figure out how those two girls got here," She says, gauging Happy's reaction.

Happy's winged slowly sunk down, and his face became forlorn.

I could tell Lucy felt bad.

That's just the way she is.

"How about you go see if Carla needs help?" Lucy suggested, "I heard her and Wendy were working on something, and I'm sure they would appreciated the help, especially Carla,"

"You really think so?" Happy asked, his voice and body immediately perking up at the mention of white exceed.

"Yes!" Lucy said, offering one of her kind smiles to Happy.

Lucky.

"Aye sir!" Happy says, as he usually does, and then flies into Lucy's chest, and gives her a hug, "I'm sorry I can't play with you tonight Lucy, but don't worry, I'll be able to tomorrow," He says cheekily, as if he wasn't the one who wanted something to do to begin with.

Lucy just rolled her eyes, and smiled, "Ok Happy!" She said cheerfully, playing along with his fib.

Then Happy was gone, off to see Wendy and Carla, mainly Carla.

"Hey Luce?" I ask her.

"Yah Natsu?" She asks me, her eyes focused on the spot Happy was just at.

"You have this weird look on your face, are you ok? It looks like you have a stomach ache or something, did ya eat something bad?" I tease her, knowing full and well she would explode.

Her face turns red and she glares at me, "OH shut up ya jerk!" She says, and then huffs indignantly before returning to her book.

I just sat on the bed and waited for her to finish (or have one of her moments), like I usually do.

After a few minutes of reading she stops and looks up.

Aha! She's had a moment.

"Natsu?" She says, looking at me, her brown eyes filling with something I can't place my finger on.

"Ya Luce?" I respond, already knowing she's about to start spewing out a bunch of information I probably won't understand.

"How many of them do you think they are?" She asked me softly, her voice filled with curiosity.

"Whaddya mean?" I ask her, not quite understanding what she's asking...as usual.

Nerd.

She rolls her eyes...as usual, "How many Fairy Tail children do you think are here?" She asks me, finally getting up from her spot at the desk and walks over to the window, "Do you think that those girls were actually telling the truth? And what did she mean by their plan and why couldn't she tell you?"

Pretty sure she's talking to herself at this point but I'm gonna answer anyway.

"I don't see why they would be lying," I tell her, "Besides, and you can just ask lugnut if you don't believe me, but that girl definitely smelled like Gajeel,"

Suddenly, Lucy looked at me and I knew I was in trouble as her brown eyes pierced right through me.

"You can pinpoint who she smells like?" Lucy asks me intently.

She's kind of scary.

"Yah," I tell her cautiously, waiting for her to explode.

"Who else did she smell like?" She asks me, and I knew I was trapped.

"Whaddya mean?" I ask her, trying to play dumb.

"Don't give me that crap!" She says, and then pins me down to the bed.

Damn. Since when did she get so strong. (Not that I really minded being pinned down).

"You can tell that Gajeel is the father, so I will only ask you once...Who. Is. The. Mother." She asks me, well more of tells me.

I look up at her and shake my head.

"Natsu Dragneel," She grits, "You will tell me the mother's name or Mavis help I withhold all food from you for a week!" She says threateningly, and I feel my heart plummet.

"You wouldn't," I tell her, though I know she would.

"Watch me," She says, smirking.

"Use your brain Lucy," I tell her, painfully noticing her breath fanning over my face, "I know you know who it is,"

"I wanna hear the words from your mouth, who is it?" She commands me.

It doesn't that my body is becoming painfully aware that she is on top of me.

"You know it's just gonna cause drama," I say, pointing out the obvious.

"Not if nobody knows but me and you," She says, and then her features soften as she smiles at me, "It can be our little secret," She says cheekily.

I raise my eyebrow, "Oh we're doing another one of those, are we?" I ask her, responding with a smile of my own.

"Yep!" She says, popping the 'p.'

I feel the distance between our faces begin to disappear, before she pulls away and glares at me.

"Who's the mom?!" She says frustrated, her cheeks blazing red.

I grin unashamed.

"Caught me," I tell her cheekily, then I walk over to her, and hug her from behind, taking a deep breath, drawing in the addicting smell of strawberries and vanilla.

She just steps out of my embrace, much to my displeasure.

"Lucy," I whine out, crossing my arms.

"Who is the mom Natsu?" She asks me.

I huff out like a 2-year-old, "Levy," I mutter out, and then look at her expectantly, "Happy?"

She steps back into my arms, and I feel my body relax, "Very," She responds, and then we both walk over the bed and I gather her in my arms.

I take in a shaky breath, relishing in the feeling of her being safe.

Ever since that day I go damn near insane when she's not around.

I have to know she's safe.

That no one will hurt her, no one will ever harm her like that again.

"Natsu," She says softly, her chocolate orbs peering up at me sweetly, she places a gentle kiss on my forehead, "I'm not going anywhere," She tells me, and then wraps her arms around me.

I tighten my arms around her and take comfort in the fact that she's so close to me.

I feel a smirk grow on my face.

"You know somethin Luce?" I ask her mischievously.

"What Natsu?" She asks, her voice tinged with very faint irritation.

A laugh escapes my lips as I look down at her, "You're in a good mood tonight, why can't you always be this nice?" I ask her, giving her a toothy grin.

That's when I feel myself being shoved off the bed.

I land on the floor in a painful thump.

"Ow Luce that hurt!" I tell her, rubbing my head.

"YOU JERK!" She yells, and proceeds to throw a pillow at my face, "You can sleep on the couch tonight!" She says, and then wraps herself back in the blankets, and huffs.

I chuckle as I watch her, I can almost see the steam dissipate from her body.

Without putting up a fight, I make my way to the couch not far from the bed and lay on it.

I'll just sneak back into the bed once she's asleep.

I feel myself smile at the thought.

Lucy's never able to stay mad at me anyway.

I look down at the sleeping beauty in my arms.

It took her forever to go to sleep!

I feel myself laugh inwardly at the thought.

Never thought I would wait forever just so I could hold a girl.

I place a gentle kiss on Lucy's forehead, and I watch as she shifts in her sleep, resulting in her cuddling into my chest.

I smile.

What have you done to me Luce?
