School was finally out for summer and Jacob and I were on we-are-hysterically-happy mode. We were so glad that we had to do only one more year of college. Rachel had Andrew three days ago. He was unbelievably the cutest baby I have ever seen-mostly, because he reminded me of Jacob. He had coal black eyes, tan copper colored skin and tiny dark hair. Jacob spent most of the time at work compensating for the work he'd missed during college. I got to see him only after seven in the evening which meant we spent only little time together. Weekends meant more time than week days but I had to work. But we stayed up talking on the phone and texting each other, making up for the lost time.

Today, Jake did not have to go to work because his boss out of town; and he will be for the next two days. We had planned to go hunting today because it has been a week since I hunted. To make it more fun, we made a deal. Jacob had said that whoever eats (Or in my case, drinks) the most number of animals in a half hour is the winner and that if Jacob wins I'd eat only human food for two weeks and if I won Jacob would take me out for shoe shopping.

"Ready?" I asked the wolf which was standing beside me. The wolf barked back the answer. "Oh, you are gonna terribly lose," I said and gave an evil grin. "On the count of three. One. Two. Three," I said and we took off at the same time.

I could feel the thud of Jake's massive paws as he ran alongside me. We ran far into the woods and I spotted a mountain lion. I gave a quick look around me to check if she had any cubs and pounced on her when I found out she was alone. "That's one for me," I called out. I could see Jake eating a bear from the corner of my eyes while I drank the cat's blood. After I had completely drained the blood off its body, I ran looking for other mountain lions. I saw another lion at a few miles distance and pounced on it. Jacob was still eating the bear. "I'm one ahead of you," I said, hoping that he'd speed up. I finished this cat too and ran around looking for other animals. I saw that Jake had already ate a cat and he was looking around the forest just as I was. We both spotted a bear at the same time. "Whoever reaches it first gets to feed on it," I said and we both ran together.

I reached the bear first and after wrestling with it for what seemed like a long time, I sank my teeth into its neck. Meanwhile, Jake had found a cat again. Oh, man. He would finish it fast. This bear is huge, I thought to myself and drank faster. Like I'd assumed he finished eating the cat and ran around looking for the next animal. I checked the timer. There was only three minutes left. I finished the bear fast and jumped up on a tree to get better sight at the forest. I am definitely winning this, I said to myself.

After zooming and scanning the forest, I spotted an elk at a very, very far distance. I was debating whether or not to kill the elk while Jacob had started eating yet another mountain lion. I checked the timer. Only two minutes left. Jacob was already half way through the cat and I couldn't even find an animal. I was gonna lose this challenge. I jumped down the tree and ran over to Jacob. As I was running, I saw a mountain lion pouncing at Jacob which he did not see. I pounced on that lion and drank from it. Just when I completed the timer beeped. And I had won. Jacob did not finish his cat.

"I win. Renesmee Cullen wins!" I shrieked, jumping and punching a fist in the air. The wolf whined and I laughed.

We ran back home and I changed into a baby pink shirt and a pair of black skinny jeans. I put on a pair of brown wedge boots and grabbed my phone and ran to the car. Jacob had phased back and waited in the car for me to take me shoe shopping. "I can't believe I'm doing this!" he groaned and I laughed.

"Alright. To Seattle, mister," I said and he started the car as he rolled his eyes.

We drove to Clementines which was Alice and mine's favourite.

"Oh, holy God. This place smells of leather," Jacob made a face and I laughed. "Look," he smiled teasingly at me. "I'll be sitting on the couch checking my phone and you will select whatever you want as soon as possible like a good girl that you are not and call me. I'll come, pay and we leave home. Okay?" he caressed my cheek and took a seat on the couch, sticking his nose to his phone.

I giggled. "I'll try, Jacob," I said trying to sound sincere. I went over to the sneakers aisle because they were the comfortable footwear known to mankind and to me. I looked at them and there were two pairs that caught my sight, but then if I bought sneakers, Alice would throw a tantrum. I imagined her saying, 'You wasted your money on sneakers. Seriously, Nessie?' I shook my head deciding against it and went over to the aisle where the peep toes were neatly arranged. I didn't like them either and went for the pumps.

Alice and I always loved pumps. A pair of red pump shoes caught my eyes. It was, what Alice would say, a very fine pair of shoes. The store manager helped me try it and it fit me perfectly. "There are two more colors in this type, Ma'am," she said politely.

"Oh, is that so?"

"Yes, Ma'am. They are black and blue. Do you wish to take a look at them?" I smiled at her and nodded. She disappeared for a moment and brought them. I looked at them and I didn't like the blue pair of pump. I handed it back to her and took the red and black shoes to Jacob.

He looked up from his phone. "Done?"

I sighed. "No, I need some help."

"Oh, Nessie, didn't we talk about it?"

I rolled my eyes. "Will you listen to me? Look, I just want to know which looks nice on me. The red one or the black one?"

"I really don't know, baby. Just pick one. I am sure both will look nice on you." He was telling the truth about I really don't know, baby. Jake was the worst when it came to clothes and shoes.

"Okay," I smiled at him and left the black pair of pump in the aisle. I motioned Jacob to follow me to pay for the shoes. He paid and we thanked the woman and left the store. "Thank you, Jacob, for the shoes," I giggled when we were on the way home.

"Yeah, yeah. Whatever."

Jacob was laying on his stomach in my bed when I sat on the floor cross legged to open the box with the shoes. I grinned at him. "Nothing compares to the happiness of opening shoe boxes."

He rolled his eyes dramatically, but his eyes widened when he took a look at the box. "What?! You didn't get the black ones. I thought you got the black ones."

I raised my eyebrows. "Oh, you would have known that I got the red one, if you weren't staring at my ass when I left the black ones back," I said sarcastically.

He grinned sheepishly. "Yeah, it's perfect."

"What?" I asked in mock-offence.

"I meant the shoes," he stuck out his tongue and I did it back.

I stocked it in the cottage and checked my phone. "Oh, God. Look, Jacob, there are fifteen missed calls from Embry." Jacob immediately checked his phone and found that he had a missed call from Embry too. "I wonder what's wrong," I said as I called Embry.

Nessie, hey. I tried calling you several times. Emily had a baby boy. Come to the rez.

"Oh, that's great. I am sorry, Embry. I left the phone in the car when I went shopping. Sorry."

No problem. Come soon.

"Okay. Bye."

Bye.

"How come I get only one call while you get fifteen?" Jake asked and I laughed.

"No time to be a baby. Come on," I said, grabbing the keys to my car. Jacob rolled his eyes and followed me and we drove to LaPush. We found the pack and the girls sitting in the living room. "Where's Leah?" I asked Quil.

"Leah is with Emily. She has been there for a while," he said.

Jacob and I locked eyes. "Well, why are you guys waiting here?"

"Oh, Carlisle is just finishing up with the stitches and all," he mumbled.

"Oh, okay," I said and Carlisle came out of the room.

"Whoever wants to see the baby can go. Although, I would say it's best to not disturb Emily," he said. He looked at me and Jacob. "I'm heading home. I'll see you guys later."

"Carlisle, can you ask Bella to come over? I am sure Emily would be happy to see her," Jacob asked him and he nodded. Meanwhile, the pack had already seen the baby and left the room. "We'll be in the beach," they said and left the house. Jacob and I went inside the room and found Emily partially awake. Sam was sitting beside her and holding her hands. Leah had the baby and was smiling and cooing at him. I looked at Jacob and smiled.

Did she imprint? I put the thoughts inside Sam's head.

"Can we take this outside?" he whispered softly. Jacob and I nodded and followed Sam into the living room. "Yeah, I think she imprinted."

"You are, um, are you okay with it?" Jacob asked him.

Sam pursed his lips. "Yeah, I guess. She deserves to be happy after all that I've done to her."

"Oh, Sam." I wasn't sure if I could put a consoling hand around Sam, I mean I've never done that before. But, I did it anyway. He smiled at me.

"I feel like I can finally save myself from the guilt."

Jacob nodded understandingly and Sam smiled. Mom came inside and Jacob and I smiled at her.

"Sam."

Nod.

"Bella."

Nod.

"Wow, they aren't very fond of each other, are they?" I whispered to Jacob and Mom shot me a shut-up-your-mouth look. Emily was awake when we went inside. Leah still had Jayden in her arms.
"Hey, Emily," Mom greeted her with a warm smile.

"Bella, hey. It's been a long time since you've been here," she giggled.

"Yeah, yeah. It's been a long time," Mom muttered looking at Jacob. "How are you feeling?"

"I feel good," Emily smiled. "You wanna hold Jade?"

Mom was surprised. "Oh, yeah, sure."

Leah shot Emily a death stare and Mom looked at Jacob. "Oh, it's nothing. Leah imprinted on Jayden."

"Oh, hey, that's great," Mom said cheerfully to Leah.

"Thank you, step-sister," Leah said sarcastically with a smile.

Mom took Jayden in her arms. "Hello, Jayden. You look beautiful," she said and smiled. She had him for some time and gave him back to Leah. "Well, then, I guess I'll get going. It was nice to see you Emily. I am very happy for you and Sam, um and Leah," she shrugged slightly. "Take care, Emily."

"Thank you, Bella. It was really sweet of you to come visit me," Emily smiled warmly.

Mom smiled and waved goodbye to them and we went to see her off. "Want you both back home by 10," she said as she hopped in the car.

"Sure, Mom," I said.

"Sometimes, I feel like she is my Momma," Jacob commented and I giggled.

"Heard you, Jake," she said and took off.
