Doki Doki Spider Club! Chapter 31 - Beach Day!

New York City. A great and large city. This city however has something that no other city has. The Amazing Spider-Man! Spider-Man swings through the city, flying through buildings and leaping over the streets. Spider-Man feels a buzzing coming from his utility belt. He grabs his phone from the belt to see that Sayori is calling him. He slides right on the green answer call button and puts the phone up to his ear. "Hello?" Spider-Man transfers the call to his mask so he doesn't have to hold his phone. "Hi Petey! Are you almost here?" Sayori's cheery voice had always made Peter smile. "Yeah, I'm on my way right now." Spider-Man breaks his web and shoots another from the opposite hand onto another building. "Great! I can't wait to show my new swimsuit to you!" Sayori beams. "Yeah? I'm just excited for a break. Finally no more bad guys! Let's hope it stays that way!" Spider-Man exclaims. "Yeah, I finally get to see you for more than 5 minutes! Hehe!" Sayori giggles, Peter couldn't be happier to hear that. Peter had done some thinking over the past few days. Thinking about how the school year was already almost over. It was May. The school year ended in June, "I can't believe it's all almost over. It feels like it started just yesterday" Peter thought to himself as we swung to the beach. It was a planned meet up between him and the Literature Club. They had all brought it up 3 days ago.

~ WEDNESDAY ~

Peter walked into the club room to find the usual scene. Natsuki digging through the closet to find her manga, Yuri at her desk already reading, and Sayori talking to Monika. He decided to go help Natsuki since the two of them had been growing a bong over the past month.Y'know with Natsuki's dad being Electro and everything. Peter walked at a fast pace to get to the closet quickly but quietly. He then stood behind Natsuki trying to reach her manga of Parfait Girls on the top shelf. "You need help with that?" Peter asked while leaning on the door frame. Natsuki turned around and saw Peter, her face immediately lit up. "Good! A tall person! Grab that volume of Parfait Girls will ya?" Natsuki said that in a demanding yet friendly voice. Peter reached up and grabbed the volume Natsuki was pointing at. Then swiftly handed it to her. "So what's that one about Nats?" Peter had a quizzical look on his face. Which made Natsuki more eager to answer since that meant someone was finally taking interest in her hobby. "This one's about the Parfait Girls going to the beach! It's my favorite volume because of how much fun they seem to be having!" Natsuki was jumping up and down with joy, Peter could tell that Parfait Girls held a really special place in Natsuki's heart. Natsuki then had a random shine in her eyes, as if she had just come across an epiphany. "Hey, we should go to the beach! Like, the entire Literature Club!" Peter couldn't help but be intrigued by this thought. "Why don't you bring it up with everyone else then?" Natsuki being extremely happy, then ran to the other club members to share her idea.

~ SATURDAY ~

Peter had just stepped onto a building overlooking the beach they were visiting. He saw Natsuki, Sayori, and Yuri. But Monika was nowhere to be seen. He leapt behind the building to change into his swimming shorts. They were red with black lines in a web like pattern. Peter webbed his backpack to the wall to ensure its safety. He walked down to the beach to greet his fellow club members. "Hey girls!" Peter shouted as he waved towards the three girls he'd become acquainted with. The three girls turned around to greet Peter but then immediately were stricken with bush all around their faces. Noticing Peter's 8-Pack and his decently muscular biceps they couldn't help but become flustered at the sight of his shirtless body. He noted how all of the girls looked beautiful in their swimming gear. Sayori was wearing big goggles on her head with a snorkel attached, her swim suit consisted of a two piece blue and white bikini. She was also wearing flippers. Yuri was wearing a purple bikini with black outlines, and Natsuki was wearing a white and pink bikini with a liner on the bottom piece that sort of covers her thighs, seeing as it was see-through it didn't really cover them. "Anybody know where Monika is?" Peter asked. "She went to change a while ago." Natsuki mentioned. "Sorry I'm late everyone!" Everyone then turned around to see Monika wearing a bikini. It was green with a lighter green coral pattern on the top and bottom piece. "There she is!" Sayori then ran up to Monika. "Can we go swimming now? Please, please, please, please?!" Sayori was begging Monika, and with a smile Monika politely said "Not yet Sayori, we have to find a spot to put our stuff." Peter then looked at Monika quizzically "What stuff?" Monika then pointed at a bag that had suddenly appeared at her side, "This stuff!" Peter then stepped back in a scared shock. The bag was well beyond overloaded. Having an umbrella, towels, sun screen, floaties, and lunch all packed inside it. They then went to find a spot to settle down.

"Alright everyone, time to have fun!" Monika exclaimed while doing her usual finger in the air pose. Sayori and Natsuki immediately rushed into the water while Monika and Yuri sat back on the beach, Yuri pulled out a book to read. Peter eyed the book and spotted the title, "Who is Spider-Man?" He had no idea that this book existed. "Who wrote it" and "What does it say" are only two of the hundreds of thoughts that flashed through Peter's mind. He ultimately decided to leave it be for now and research the book later, today was for fun. He turned and rushed toward the water to have fun with Sayori and Natsuki.

Hours had passed. It went from 9 AM to 12 PM in a flash. "Alright everyone it's lunch time!" Monika called out to the three members having fun in the water. They all settled down on a large blue towel to eat 's book was sitting beside her as she ate, of course Yuri having common decency wasn't reading while she ate. Peter decided to bring it up. "Hey Yuri, what book do you have there?" Yuri looked up from her food and replied to Peter "It's Who is Spider-Man, it's a book that looks through everything that Spider-Man has done, and it looks through the physical feats of Spider-Man." Yuri seemed quite happy with the book she was reading. Peter wanting more answers decided to push on. "Mind if I borrow it when you're done reading it?" Yuri grew a happy expression. "Of course, I'm always happy to lend another member of the literature club a book if they find interest." Peter had hit the sweet spot, he'll find out more about that book later. "Y'know Peter. I realize something now." Yuri brings this up, "What is it?" Peter asks, "There's a whole chapter in the book that looks at Spider-Man's body, his muscles, his pex, his abs, everything. And I realize now, that your body is very similar in size, shape, and muscle definition as Spider-Man's," Peter didn't like where this was going everyone at the circle was watching him "One could say that you are Spider-Man based on the evidence I've laid out." Peter was getting cold sweats, he was getting more and more nervous, everyone was looking at Peter with expectant eyes. Natsuki, realizing that her friend was in trouble, decides to step in. "No way this guy is Spider-Man! I mean, Spider-Man is an uber cool badass! Peter's just a nerd!" Peter smiled at this (Despite it hurting a little) "Exactly! No way, I could never be Spider-Man!" This seemed to satisfy everyone and as everyone turned back towards their lunch Yuri looked back up at Peter.

~ 7 PM ~

The sun was starting to set. And everyone had already gotten packed up. Peter was looking out at the ocean, almost as if he was expecting something to come out. Sayori then walked up next to Peter. "Hey." Sayori greeted Peter with a warm smile. "Hey, what's up?" Peter asked Sayori. "Everyone's leaving for ice cream, you coming?" Sayori was expecting a yes, or an okay from Peter, but it's not what she got. "Sayori…why did you kiss me at prom?" The air got thick. It was as if someone had just killed a person. Sayori, now looking down, started to open her mouth. "I...I...I don't know." Sayori's tone of voice was extremely shaky. Her voice was cracking a lot. "I just...I thought I had feelings for you." Sayori started having tears fall from her eyes. "I just...when I saw you with Monika, something happened in me. And it made me so jealous of you two. I thought maybe...I had feelings for you." Sayori was full on crying now. Peter grabbed his childhood friend and hugged her. "I don't know what to do." Sayori was trembling. "It's okay. We'll get through this...together." Peter was comforting Sayori, they stayed hugging on that beach for a good 2 or so minutes before leaving with the others. A strong start, to a new arc of their lives.
