SEASON 1 EPISODE 1 THE PILOT

Alexi couldn't believe what she had been told. She had been in the middle of class when her phone went off for the fifth time. Sighing she answered it all she heard was baby and hospital.

Alexi was racing towards to Charming going ninety and zipping in and out of cars. The brunette couldn't even think straight as she flew down the highway. She didn't care that they were in the middle of a chapter review for a big test or that she had other tests to study for, seeing that the semester was almost done.

She didn't fucking care. nothing came above family. She skidded into the hospital parking lot. her breaks screeching. barley parking the jeep before jumping out and waddling through the doors. She made sure her knife was accessible. She had a feeling she was going to need it.

The baby was ten weeks premature. this fucking bitch had something to fucking do with it. She knew it. Wendy had dropped off the fucking map the last couple weeks and no one could get in touch with her. She was pretty against everyone in the family since her and Jax's break up.

Alexi didn't honestly care about the bitch. wendy was more trouble than she was worth. she'd said it from the moment she met the woman but no one wanted to hear it. now look.

Fucking judgy bitch.

The brunette stormed through the emergency room her eyes darting everywhere, looking for someone familiar, quickly realizing she didn't know where anyone would be. She spotted a leather kutte and waddled faster, ignoring the security guard calling after her or the charge nurse. She waddled past a waiting area too focused on trying to figure out where the fuck she needed to go.

"Alexi!" Jax shouted jumping to his feet as she stormed past the waiting room. he caught up with her as she got to the end of the hall. The wife looked back at him fuming. "What the fuck happened Jackson?" The brunette asked. her normally bright green eyes were dark emerald with rage.

The blonde slung his arm over the brunettes shoulder and turned her away trying to guide her back to the waiting room. "Just tell me, Jax. Is he okay?" Alexi asked, her big green eyes darting over his face. It was filled with worry but didn't give anything else away. before he could answer Alexi turned hearing heels click down the hallway.

A tale tell sign that her godmother was nearing. "Mom what happened?" Alexi asked shrugging Jax's arm off as Gemma came into view. "That junkie whore happened. Pumped her self full of crank." The green eyed wife felt rage pump through her as her godmother continued to rant. How she went to check on Wendy and found her bleeding out in the kitchen, needle still in her arm.

Alexi couldn't hear anymore. buzzing replaced Gemma's words as alexi started zoning. imagining what she was going to do to the junkie bitch as soon as she could get her hands on her.

"We're still waiting to hear about the baby." Jax said his voice was shaky. Alexi turned to him. seeing his fear was like being doused with a bucket of ice water. They all looked up as Cali came over to them pulling her scrub mask off.

"He's out of surgery." She stated. Alexi noticed how on guard her friend was and stood a little taller. something wad really. wrong. Her stomach churned and she felt sick looking at the blonde in blue scrubs.

"Just tell me." Jax said his voice was flat. Alexi looked from her god brother to Cali waiting to hear the verdict. "He's got a congenital heart defect and gastroschisis, a tear in his abdomen. The gastro and the early birth are from the drugs. But the CHD is probably..."

"The family flaw."

Cali stated as Gemme interjected, nodding and placing her hand on her sons shoulder for comfort. The blonde doctor nodded in a agreement. "Yes, it's genetic. Either one would be serious, but not life-threatening. However, the two of them together... "

Alexi's heart felt like it stopped when she saw Cali pause trying to give them the news gently. "Just tell me. Jax pleaded. Cali tucked her hands in her pockets and took a breath.

"Dr Namid gives him a 20 percent chance, and I'm afraid that's being optimistic." Cali said quietly looking at each of them carefully. Alexi felt sick at this point and tried everything in her power not to puke.

Who could do this? How could anyone just shoot up knowing they had a life growing in them? Her friends words made Alexi hate Jax's ex even more. More than she had ever hated anyone in her life.

"I'm sorry, Jax." Cali said as Jax visibly deflated. Gemma rubbed his back. She looked like she was battling her emotions trying not to lose her shit. "She never wanted to talk to me. I didn't know." He said shaking his head. Alexi leaned against him in comfort.

"Her OB said she missed her last three appointments. No one knew. Dr Namid wants to fix his belly first. Then if he stabilizes, he'll go in and try to repair the heart. I'm sorry, Jax. I can take you to see him now." Cali said trying to comfort the goateed blonde who was shutting down.

Alexi rubbed her belly watching the pair very aware of Gemma watching them as well. "Jax, this isn't on you, she wouldn't talk to anyone." alexi said looking at him. Her godbrother wrapped his arm around her and nodding.

"Cali! You don't have to do this. I'm sure you got other patients." Cali smiled and tucked a stray hair behind her ear. "I asked Dr Namid if I could assist. I wanna help your son." Jax nodded to her. "His name's Abel." Cali gave him her signature dazzling smile.

Alexi wasn't sure if the blonde was trying to make him feel better with the smile or that she actually liked the name, but she was grateful nonetheless. "That's a great name... Jax!" She called after him as he suddenly turned and darted down the hall.

"Jax!" Alexi and Gemma called after him at the same time. "Go with Cali, I got something to do." He ordered, his voice full of anger.

"Where do we go from here?" Alexi asked after Jax had left, careful to keep her voice even. "It's a waiting game. If he makes it through tonight, then Dr. Namid will want to fix his heart." Alexi nodded trying to keep her tears at bay as she looked at the floor. "Can we see him? She asked looking to the blonde then to Gemma. Cali gave her a small smile and nodded. "Yeah, I can take you to him." The gorgeous blonde stated. Gemma looked over Alexi gratefully as they followed the blonde up the hall. "You can't touch him but you can talk to him." Cali said leading them into the small room.

Alexi and Gemma took turns washing their hands before getting closer to the lit up isolette. Alexi gasped and felt her stomach hitch at the sight of the small baby in the isolette. She felt tears slide down her cheeks as her emotions ran rampant.

Hate, love, fear, sadness. she felt it all in a matter of seconds. "He's so small." She choked touching the top of the clear container. Gemma nodded her head bowed. "Hes got a chance baby girl. That's all he needs. He's a teller a fighter." Her god mother spoke softly brushing her shoulder against Alexi's.

The pregnant woman nodded trying to control her tears. "How could she do this Gem? How? How could she not care?" Alexi asked looking over at her godmother. Gemma shook her head indicating she didn't want to talk about the junkie whore. They stood in silence for a while just watching the new addition to the family sleep.

Hes got a chance. Alexi repeated to herself over and over again in her head. Gem was right. Tonight she would pray for him they had to be strong for him. Alexi made a vow to herself that no harm would ever come to his boy while she was on this earth. he would certainly never go through this again.

Hours later

Alexi was home and cleaning furiously trying to work through her feelings but she couldn't get Wendy out of her head. That stupid junkie bitch. She scrubbed the kitchen tiles harder grunting in anger as she attacked a dirt spot in the grout.

Fucking whore. Fucking trying to trap her god brother. As if he needed that fucking bullshit. Fucking dumb fucking whore. Fucking goddamn slut. She moved along the line of tiles scrubbing as hard as she could. She shivered as sweat rolled down her back.

The brunette had the ceiling fan on and windows open so that the bleach smell would air out and not get trapped in the house and make her dogs sick. After cleaning the kitchen from top to bottom, she moved to the hallway scrubbing the walls, pictures, floorboards, and the wood floor. She couldn't get her mind around that god damn woman.

"Stupid fucking bitch." She muttered slapping her hand against the floor. She moved through the hall pulling the mop out of the hall closet and started mopping the hallway, den, and dining room. After that she started dusting. She cursed as the container of leather cleaner rolled under the couch. She got on her hands and knees trying to reach the cleaner.

"As much as I love seeing you on your hands and knees what are you doing?" Her husband said coming into the den. She rolled her eyes at his comment and kept reaching until the babies started kicking. She groaned and leaned against the couch holding her stomach.

"Cleaning." She muttered rubbing her stomach, breathing through the pain of her son's hard kicks. "Its midnight, you should be resting." Alexi closed her eyes willing herself not to snap at her husband.

Happy had been on the road a lot recently. Well, since they had found out she was pregnant. He wanted to make sure they had enough money for the baby. Alexi understood but she knew her husband was freaking out a little. It was starting to get to her, his being away, between getting her masters and being pregnant it was starting to overwhelm her. Happy would be home for a day or two then shoot off to another charter and be gone for however long.

"You missed their appointment the other day." Alexi mumbled grasping at the can and finally grabbing it. "I told you I didn't think I'd be back in time." She rolled her eyes and sat back on her knees.

"Well, you could have tried." She huffed and pushed herself to her feet. "I don't fucking need this." Happy snapped storming away. "Whatever." Alexi muttered and started spraying the couch down with cleaner. She grabbed a rag and started detailing the couch making sure to get every nook and cranny before moving to the recliner.

Mason sent a kick to her ribs that made her cry out and drop the can. She doubled over as her stomach seized up and intense pain shot through her back. "Fuck me." She grumbled pushing through the pain.

She had to get the cleaning done. "You need to get to bed." She heard Happy say. She ignored him and continued working through the pain. She gritted her teeth and sprayed the recliner down then began wiping it down with the rag she had used to clean off the couch.

"FUCK FUCK FUCK." She cried out as the pain dramatically got worse. Tears rolled down her cheeks and she bit her lip trying to breath through the pain. She straightened up and froze as the pain just amplified out of nowhere. The searing pain tore through her body. She screamed trying to work through it.

"Lex." Happy bellowed from the kitchen. She couldn't respond and sank down to the floor. Her stomach was hard as a rock and she knew something was wrong. She was scooped off the floor as Happy flew through their house. She screamed again burying her face into his chest as she dug her nails into his arms.
