Once in Atlas, we split up. Roman went to con the Schnees out of some more cash, and I was looking through the different military bases to find out where the gun was.
We knew it was on Atlas proper. The tech was too important to be in the middle of nowhere and too sensitive to be down in Mantle.
I had discovered my semblance about a year ago, and while I wasn't proeficient enough to make independant images yet, I was able to use it to disguise myself.
And disguise I did. I now had short brown hair and the face of a generic 24 or so years old woman. I also had a Specialist's uniform in order to avoid being questionned by the soldiers.
Even though the Atlesian military was very strict, Specialists still enjoyed some degree of leeway.
Finally, I hadn't taken my parasol as I had a fairly high chance of being caught, and I didn't want to leave it behind, so I had a standard issued Atlesian gun with normal bullets in it. It wouldn't be of any use against any of the Specialists, but it would allow me to kill the bottom foot soldiers that would be guarding the lab I was looking for.
Aura was tricky like that. It wasn't a very closely guarded secret but the lowest classes could easily live without ever knowing it existed.
Most importantly is that there wasn't many people who unlocked their aura. Having your aura unlocked made you a natural attractor to grimm.
Not because it was like a beacon in the dark, but because having your aura unlocked meant you were wearing your very soul at all times, and that made it all the more easier for grimm to percieve your emotions.
One angry Huntsman could easily attract ten to a hundred times more grimm than any non aura user.
I walked through several bases as if I belonged there until I found what I was looking for. The most secure research facility was at the bottom level of a base just next to the Hunters' Academy.
I walked to it without a hitch, until I took the elevator. There was another Specialist, with pure white hair, going at the level just above mine.
When I pushed the button nonchalently, she narrowed her eyes.
" I don't think I saw you before... Why are you going down there."
I showed her the scroll I had taken just for this heist. On it was one of my illusions, showing a fake name, identification, and cripted orders to go down to that level for additional security.
I had learned a lot of things back at boot camp, but I had to sneak around in order to learn their encryption protocols.
" I see." she said, her eyes still narrowed.
We arrived at the second to last level and she moved out of the elevator. I continued down.
Once down, I showed my illusion to gain access. Since my illusions were physical I could fool the sensors easily.
I walked out of the elevator and to the center of the room, where a gun was exposed. The prototype for the technology I was currently stealing.
None of the cameras sent data outside of the room, it wouldn't make sense for them to let information on their most secret technology out of what was their most secure lab.
On my right and left were two soldiers standing guard. I placed myself at a spot where they wouldn't be able to hide from and quickly shot them down before placing a chip inside the computers to download the data.
I would have prefered to kill them with a sword, as I would have felt better doing so, but efficiency was the key here, and I didn't have a sword on me to begin with.
Once the downloading was over. I took the chip and replaced the prototype with my gun. I then placed an illusion on top of the prototype to make it look like the one I had came in with before making my way back to the ground floor.
Once at ground level, I simply had to go through the paperwork and checks that were in place for anyone going in or out of the secured facility.
We were almost done when the elevator doors opened to let the Specialist I had met earlier out. She pointed at me and shouted.
" She's not a Specialist. Arrest her now ! "
Kivuntappaja : There are a few reasons for that.
My writing style. I don't do detailed descriptions so it cuts a lot of words.
I wanted to post once a day, so where a normal chapter would make a line break and continue I stop there and make a new chapter.
As for the lack of reviews, I'm afraid the combination of Neo/Team RWBY isn't something people look for. I'll probably be changing it soon.
