Chapter 32

Weiss slowly made her way down the Schnee manor's hallways, in her youth she almost never came down this particular set of hallways, the only time being when she was six, having had a nightmare Weiss sought comfort from her mother and father, in the end only earning a harsh slap to the face for her weakness.

Weiss never really loved her father, always seeing him as an obstacle to overcome rather than the kind and nurturing man he was supposed to be but she never thought he was capable of the things that he had done. Weiss continued to lead everyone to her father's bedroom, arriving after a few moments they reached Jacques's room, Summer, Qrow, and Raven preparing to bust the door down, suddenly being stopped when Weiss held her hand up. "There are security measures on the door, if you bust it down an alarm will sound," Weiss explained, pulling her scroll down and swiping it across the door's lock. The door flashed green, the door unlocking with a small metallic click. Summer, Qrow, and Raven entered the room, telling team -WBY to watch the door.

Upon entering the room the group found Jacques asleep in bed, joined by a woman that was very obviously not his wife. While Summer and Qrow were distracted, Raven sent a quick message on her scroll, going completely unnoticed by the two.

A loud cough woke Jacques from his slumber, the man sitting up with a furious expression. "What the hell, do you think you're doing here?" Jacques yelled, waking the woman that slept next to him. "Get out," Summer said, looking at the woman as she pointed her thumb towards the exit. The woman quickly wrapping herself in a blanket and bolting out of the room. Qrow, Summer, and Raven all pulled out their weapons, pointing them towards the angry man. "Let's just all calm down, what do you want?" Jacques asked, a nervous sweat appearing on his brow as he scooted back instinctively. "Where Is she?" Summer demanded, placing the tip of her spear against his throat.

"Who?" Jacques asked, receiving a kick in the face from Raven, sending him spiraling to the floor.

"I say we take a finger or two, show him we're serious," Raven suggested, resting Omen against Jacqus's hand. "Wait! Jacques shouted, "just tell me who you're looking for, I'm sure we can come to some sort of arrangement." Summer lifted the hood of her cloak up, revealing her silver eyes and black hair that turns red at the tips. "Where's my daughter?" Summer asked, kicking Jacques down and placing one of her combat boots against his throat. "I...I...don't know who you are or who your daughter is, just leave me alone," Jacques said, attempting to get Summer's boot off of him, to little success. "Don't lie to me!" Summer snarled, lifting her boot slightly, just to slam it back down, knocking the wind out of him.

"I would listen to her," Qrow suggested.

Jacques knew who they were looking for and he knew exactly where she was but from what Issac had told him, the potential lien that he could gain was too great to throw away. "I'm not lying, I swear on my children's lives, that I have no idea who or where your daughter is," Jacques promised, scooting back so that he was sitting against the wall, right next to his nightstand. "Enough! We tried it your way but now we try it my way, for every minute you don't tell me where my daughter is I'll take a finger," Raven said, slashing Omen towards Jacque's hand. Jacques screamed in agony as his left pinkie finger was severed, the bloody body part landing a few meters away from him.

"60 seconds," Raven said coldly.

"W-W-Wait I'll tell you where she is, just let me go," Jacques begged. "The faster you tell me where she is, the more likely I'll be to let you live," Raven said. "Jacques paused for a moment, "she's in our scientific research facility in Mantle," Jacques answered, making hope appear in Summer eyes. Raven subtly pulled out her scroll, sending a quick message on her scroll, she was putting a lot of faith in Cinder but what choice did she have, if she allowed Summer and Qrow to find Ruby she would never see her again. "You better not be lying," Qrow threatened, stepping away from the wall that he was leaning on. "Alright let's go," Summer said, heading towards the exit, stopping when Raven stepped in front of her. "Get out of my way!" Summer growled, pointing her spear towards Raven. "Yeah, I don't think so, as much as it pains me I'm going to have to keep my baby girl waiting a little more," Raven said, her eyes glowing with the spring maiden's magic. "I knew bringing you with us was a mistake, thanks Oz," Summer muttered sarcastically.

While everyone was distracted, Jacques pressed a button on the side of his nightstand, activating an alarm that blared through the Schnee manor, "and that's just perfect," Summer muttered, preparing to fight Raven.

Weiss had a deep frown on her face, she had seen the unfamiliar woman rush out of her father's room and knew what that had meant. Yang and Blake had attempted to comfort their teammate, unfortunately having little success. A little while later loud shouting could be heard from inside, causing team -WBY to worry. "Should we go in?" Blake asked, feeling uncomfortable with being in the Schnee manor "I don't know, mom said to stay out here and keep watch but I got a bad f.." Yang started, being interrupted as a loud alarm started blaring over the Manor's sound system. "What is that?" Blake asked, covering her sensitive cat ears in an attempt to ease the pain. "It's the alarm system, something must have gone wrong," Weiss explained, turning to enter her father's room. Until Qrow suddenly came flying through the wall. "Qrow!" Yang shouted, rushing to her adoptive father's side. "Are you okay?" Yang asked. "I'm alright, firecracker, just took a nasty hit," Qrow explained, slowly standing up. 'My father did that to you?" Weiss questioned, with a raised eyebrow.

"Of course not," Qrow said, "it was, Raven. We figured out where Ruby is and now Raven's trying to kill us," Qrow explained.

Yang's eyes turned a deep red, her shotgun gauntlets engaging, "I'll kill her," Yang snarled, heading through the whole that Qrow made, she was quickly followed by Qrow and the rest of her team. Upon arriving they found Summer battling against Raven, the group quickly jumped in, surrounding Raven on all sides. In response Raven placed her hand on the floor, creating multiple pillars of ice shoot out at the group.

The group expertly dodged the ice, sidestepping or jumping out of the way. Seeing that the ice wasn't delaying them, Raven created a wall of fire around herself, quickly pushing it out in the hopes that it would incinerate her enemies. Raven was surprised when her biological daughter ran through the fire, momentarily forgetting that Yang's semblance made her fireproof. Yang blasted forwards, using her shotgun gauntlets to propel her towards Raven, picking her right arm up to unleash a devastating blow on the woman that was supposed to be her mother. Raven easily caught the attack, twisting Yang's arm and using her momentum to fling Yang to the ground. Summer and Qrow came at her next, Summer swiping her spear towards her legs, while Qrow brought Harbinger down towards her head. Raven caught Harbinger with Omen, jumping over Summer's spear, Raven brought her legs up, kicking Qrow back. With Qrow no longer an immediate threat, she focused on Summer sending a multitude of slashes towards Summer, the woman having trouble keeping up with the pace. Eventually Raven found an opening, slashing Summer along the leg with Omen, about to deal the final blow, Raven's weapon was pulled back, Blake standing at her side with Gambol Shroud in its sickle mode. Raven quickly grabbed the ribbon of Gambol Shroud, yanking it forward to bring Blake crashing into the ground. Raven attempted to press the attack, finding that her feet would not move, looking down Raven found her feet covered in ice.

Raven growled in annoyance, looking towards Weiss, who was holding Myrtenaster in the ground. Raven melted the ice with fire, sending a bolt of lightning at Weiss.

Weiss was flung back by the attack, her aura taking a massive hit. Raven heard the sound of someone running towards her, turning around Raven barely had enough time to raise Omen as Harbinger swung towards her. Raven gave her brother a teasing smirk, "you're always too slowly baby brother," Raven laughed. Unfortunately for Raven, Qrow's semblance seemed to be on his side for once, Raven suddenly slipping on the puddle she created mere moments ago. To Raven's surprise, Qrow actually started laughing at her, causing her blood to boil. Before Raven could get back up Summer was on top of her, holding her down with her spear at Raven's throat. "That was incredibly stupid," Summer snarled, hearing a slight ding from Raven, which caused the woman to smile.

The entire time Raven kept a smirk on her face, causing Summer and the others to become confused. "What are you smiling at?" Yang asked, her hair an illuminated gold. By now Raven had started to lightly laugh. "Something funny?" Qrow asked, with a raised eyebrow.

"It's just, I need to thank you," Raven laughed.

"Thank us for what?" Summer asked, a slight edge in her voice. "For staying with me," Raven answered, "Summer, come on, you knew this was coming but you still wasted your time with me and I can't thank you enough for that," Raven said. Realization hit Summer fast, "RUBY!" Summer shrieked, bolting out of the room. Raven wasn't worried, if Cinder was where she said she was, then Summer wouldn't reach them in time. Qrow looked at his wife's retreating form, "Yang, take your team and follow Summer, I'll take care of Raven," Qrow said. Yang hesitated for a moment, wanting to help her father subdue Raven but she decided to follow her mother, wanting to see her baby sister again. Yang rushed out of the room, quickly followed by Blake, Weiss however decided to stay behind, helping Qrow restrain his sister and deal with her family's security team. "Professor Qrow?" Weiss asked. "What's up kid?" Qrow asked, his eyes never leaving Raven. "Where's my father?" Weiss asked out of curiosity. Qrow quickly looked around the room, "I don't know," Qrow admitted, a little angry that the man who kidnapped his daughter got away.

"He must have gone into his panic room," Weiss rationalized, turning her attention back to Raven. "I suggest you surrender ma'am, I would prefer not to have to tear up my own home," Weiss said, leveling Myrtenaster.

Ruby screamed in agony, her worst nightmares playing before her, she was forced to watch Yang, Blake, Weiss, and her mother die over and over again, each time bringing her incredible pain. She was completely unaware of her surroundings, completely unaware of the sadistic man that continued to pump gargoyle venom into her veins. "Wow, doc, she's totally lost it," Zachery laughed, lifting up Ruby's limp head, staring at her dazed silver eyes, throwing her head down unceremoniously. "Gargoyle venom is a powerful toxin, it's bound to have some nasty side effects," Issac laughed, moving a frozen boarbusk to the other side of the room.

Zachery laughed as well, pulling another grimm in front of Ruby. "Out of curiosity what kinds of side effects?" Zachery asked, causing Isaac to begin chuckling again. "Sore throat, intense head pain, loss of eyesight, intense trauma, loss of hearing, sores, hair loss, and in extreme cases, death, that's why I told Jacques to find me a young person with silver eyes, there's a less likely chance that her heart will give out as fast," Issac explained.

"Well then, shall we continue?" Zachery asked, grabbing another syringe full of gargoyle venom.

With another sting of pain Ruby was trusted further into her nightmares. Zachery and Issac spent the next 30 minutes moving grimm, bringing them into a huge room after Ruby would freeze it. They were now taking a small break, Zachery offering Issac a cigar, which he gladly accepted. Just before Issac could light his cigar the sprinkler system activated, dousing both me with water. "What the..? Zachery started, being stopped as the door to the room blasted open, a woman on fire stepping through.

"Crap," Zachery muttered.
