Chapter 53: Rage Against the Machine
Ava collapsed, and Steve jumped before her with his makeshift shield. This Red Lantern Hulk spat out blood, which started to burn away at the steel door.
The War Machine flew into the at firing at the Hulk.
As a barrage of missiles collided with the red and emerald giant, he turned, and a shield of energy covered him protecting him.
War Machine heard a click as he ran out of missile, "…oh sh-"
The red ring glowed, and he found a massive red fist colliding with him.
Steve tossed aside the ruined shield and picked up Ava and ran for cover. He barely got a glimpse of Tony and his team tumbling out of the hole in the wall. The Hulk didn't miss them either as the War Machine fell back; he turned his attention to them.
The Doctor and Alexis bolted to the sides, and Tony flew into the air. Hulk crashed into the Black Crow Unit mech and tossing off those who clung to the mech.
The sudden impact did knock the sense back to the driver.
Shutaura Sequenzia, the leader of the Black Crows, saw the giant grabbing her mech as to toss it.
She slammed her fist onto a red button, an intense charge of electricity pulsed through the outer shell. The Hulk Roared and tore off one of the machine's legs. Alarms blared across the mech.
Hulk tore another leg, and Shutaura struggled to keep the mech from toppling over. She didn't have to work too much as the Hulk grabbed it began to crush the front.
Shutaura pulled a lever, and hatches on the hull opened up, shooting out several disks made of rare earth metals. In the fraction of a second wire shot out from the mech attaching themselves to the discs. Inside, Shutaura watched, and her eyes flashed with energy.
Shutaura was an esper; her power was to store and release explosive energy through the use of rare earth elements by touch or throw wire.
A massive explosion erupted in front of the Hulk's face.
Tony landed near Steve, "What happened? We weren't even gone a day. Last time I checked Bruce-"
"Boss!" A voice rang out from the suit as the helmet snap over his face. Quickly the HUD displayed information that had been gathered by the ring.
CPU turned his head into a projector to show the others the same date he and FRIDAY had pulled.
"….oh." Alexis gulped.
"Yeah, does it look familiar?" Scarlett spoke up.
"That's a lot like my tech but…different. It's alien tech on a magic base, real dark magic."
"That's magic?" Touma walked over,
"Can you turn it off?" Scarlett asked him, "You can do that with tech and magic, and this is both."
Alexis seemed to hesitate, "I can try."
He closed his eyes and focused as he tried to activate a spell to tap into the ring.
He suddenly got images of Bruce, of the Hulk, a lab, Missy, a barren world with lakes of boiling blood and a massive red lantern above them., Thanos, screams, glitches, and the ring.
"RAGE! RAGE!" HE screamed; the problem was that the ring used that chance to tap into him.
He opened his eyes, which glowed bright red.
"That went horrible." Rocket readied his gun.
The other backed away he was seething with rage.
"Alexis!" Scarlett grabbed his face and made him look her in the eye, "Beatrice…remember her." She paused, "Please don't go if we have any chance to get her back we need you. I- I can't be the last one standing. We're barely holding it together without her. If the last one, I'm not going to try."
The rage seemed to fade a little.
"Contact," The Doctor placed her hands on his head.
The Doctor twitched, "It's okay, just helping you out. You two did the hard part, just helping put up some defenses."
Alexis sighed and fell back against a wall; he was shaking, "That- that- not doing it again!"
"What happened?" Tony asked.
Alexis looked ready to vomit, "That's Old Tech, ancient from a very advanced civilization. And the magic base …it's blood and rage. It was forged in death, planet-scale death. It's attracted to rage. Given time I could probably start breaking it down but-"
"We don't have time." Steve pointed.
"It's unstable, and I don't know what will happen attached to someone like," he motioned to the Hulk.
"FRIDAY'S scans are picking up on some strange readings," Tony told the group. "I think he's going to go critical, I don't know how long we have but if we don't stop him soon the energy output…" Tony sighed, "It's not great, considering it's the Hulk it probably won't kill him, and it will do it again before he makes a bigger explosion until there is nothing left. I don't know if the Planet or the Hulk will give out first."
"We need to get that ring away from him," Natasha told them.
"It's not going to be easy," Thor looked on, "those shield block most anything. If you get past them, you then have to deal with the Hulk."
"My hand," Touma told them, "If it's magic, I can cancel it."
The Doctor spoke on his behalf, "I can vouch for his hand."
Steve gave him an encouraging smile, he didn't like the idea of kids on the battlefield, but h was barely older when he tried to enlist. Plus, his hand might be the key to stop the rampage. "I like that spirit. If your hand breaks the shield, we still need to get the ring."
"Me," Ava spoke up, Martha tried to stop her, but she moved. "That ring was having a hard time scanning me. I think I can get close, maybe disrupt it enough to get you a shot at the ring."
"We have to hold off the Hulk," Thor told them, "he's dangerous, and I've fought him close up to know if you give me a chance he will smash you."
"Ava?" Steve asked, "Are you up for it?"
Ava looked at the monster, "I don't think I have a choice, do I?"
"Ava gets close and disrupts that ring, everyone else, find a way to hold back the Hulk long enough for…"
"Touma Kamijou, just call me Touma," Touma replied, he tried to be open to everyone. Plus, he felt he could trust his man.
Steve nodded, "For Touma to get an opening."
Alexis trembled.
Steve just told him, "Catch your breath."
"Missy," He said, "I saw Missy, she did something to the ring. There's something- something to stop this."
Mickey told him, "She managed to stop him for a moment, but he blasted her back. We haven't seen her since."
Steve had power, nothing supernatural or super-soldier; he had a way that made people trust and listen to him. Slowly they all started to fall in line with his plan.
"Let's get to it."
The explosion ran out, Shutaura pulled a switch, and the cockpit opened up, launching her into the air. As she flew into the air, she pulled out her handgun and fired at the monster. Not that it did anything, but it annoyed him enough to let her slip past.
Itsuwa was working on getting the others up. Kanzaki was the first to come through, "We have trouble."
Kanzaki looked on in shock as green, and red monster smashed a mech. "Is that a demon?" Looking at it, she felt sick.
The Hulk turned to them as his next target.
It began to charge at them, but before it could, a large set of armor flew around him and jumped on.
A gauntlet slid on his ringed hand before a helmet slammed down. The armor would break but hopefully by them sometime.
A gauntlet flew past Tony, dropping him something. Tony picked it up and tossed it at Steve.
Instinctually Steve picked it up; it was his shield.
"Had Friday pick it up on the way," Tony told him, "Fixed it up a bit."
"Tony…" Steve tried to say.
"Not the time, captain."
"Right," strapping the shield onto his arm. Steve rushed in along the others.
The others got up in time to see the green behemoth tearing at the armor that stitched itself on him.
"What the hell is that?" Mugino yelled.
The white beetle crawled beside her, "A monster?"
"No, shit Sherlock," she paused, realizing she was talking to a beetle.
"Hello, I'm the Doctor." The blonde timelord walked over to them, "We got off on the wrong foot, but let's fix that. Right now, we could use your help. Because if we don't create an opening for Touma Kamijou to touch that ring, we might find ourselves in the middle of a huge explosion."
Steve ran ahead of the others, "Keep him off his balance! Attack from all sides and move, don't let him get his bearings! Attack and run!"
With a burst of red energy burst apart the Hulk Buster armor.
Tony shook his head, "That was broken anyway."
Steven jumped into the air and slammed his shield into the Hulk's head, but a red energy shield blocked him.
Steve jumped back as the Hulk reached for him.
"Play nice, Bruce!" Tony flew behind him, firing a laser.
Hulk went to swat him before Mickey and Martha both fired on the opposite end. He turned into to get a face full of plasma thanks to Rocket.
The Hulk roared, and the sky crackled with power and thunderstruck him, the Hulk tried to raise a shield, but it shattered.
The Hulk roared again, but he stopped as a green beam struck his face.
Mugino huffed, "Usually, that does it."
The Hulk's eyes boiled as it started to regrow.
"You need more guts!" Sogiita said more than a little excited. He ran forwards. "AMAZING PUNCH!"
His fist glowed bright he struck at the Hulk, but a red shield formed around him. Sogiita kept going, and the shield shattered, and the punch hit. The Hulk fell back but reacted quickly before grabbing Sogiita and slamming him to the ground.
"Enough of this monster," Kanzaki pulled out her sword and slashed at him. She jumped back, avoiding his swipe.
Kakine rushed in as a swarm of beetles and pulled Sogiita away.
"I'm okay," Sogiita was bleeding and likely had a rib broken.
The white beetles began to duplicate and swarm over the Hulk, trying to contain him. Kakine wanted to hold him, but a bubble formed around this ring bearer pushing away the beetles. Finally, an explosion of energy forced the dark matter bugs away.
Hulk stood tall and victorious, but then he spotted a young boy ahead of him.
Aang didn't like fighting, he didn't like using his full power, but it was clear that this creature could fight back. This world felt strange; being there felt weird, he tried to clear and focus his mind. He moved to will the elements around to him to move. He stomped, and the ground before him jotted out, and with a push, it moved towards the Hulk. The Red Lantern Hulk rushed toward to meet the attack to shattered the earth barrier with a single strike. As he walked past the dust, he saw Aang with the wind whipping around him.
Balls of fire and whips of water spun around him along with stones. Aang's eyes glowed brightly. With one motion, Aang commanded gale-force winds to rush at The Red Lantern Hulk carrying everything they could with them. The Hulk raised a shield and walked forwards, the shield shattered, and he continued to raise another shield. Flames, stones, water, ripped at the Hulk, but he ignored them along with the winds and would just create a new shield for everyone broken. The Hulk would not stop; the world could turn against him, but the rage inside him wouldn't let him stop.
Nearby Rhodey's head ached.
"Up already? Good. We have work to do."
The faceplate slid off as he laid on the ground.
"Morning sunshine." Missy sat beside him, doing something to one of the weapons on his shoulder.
"What are you doing to my suit?"
"Giving it an overdue upgrade. I probably voided the warranty, but I won't say anything if you don't."
"What?"
"You're out of rockets, so I adjusted your lasers plus tweaked this fun sonic canon." Missy motioned to the fight, "better get to it; I don't think we have much time left. Just hold him off until my plan sets in."
"What plan?"
"Oh, very complicated, no time for that. Get back to the fight, soldier boy." She smacked the amour.
Rhodey booted up the War Machine armor and got back into the air.
Aang was pouring the power, but the Hulk continued, every injury healed before the next shield was shattered. The world around him seemed to be falling apart, and Aang had no idea how to stop it, none of his previous lives had ever run into anything like this.
Before he knew it, the Hulk reached out for him.
"Duck!"
Aang barely heard him in time to duck and roll away as a beam of ice encased the Hulk. The ice lasted for seconds, Alexis knew that when he fired. He tied the concept of freezing to actual ice and disrupted the spell before it could activate the effects.
His hand ached and felt ready to drop, the gun had a battery, but the magic components did require his own energy.
Scarlett stood beside him and began to drench the Hulk with flames. The flames weren't going to slow him down either.
Alexis and Scarlett traded looks, they both fired their attacks together, letting them collide on the Hulk at once. When great heat collided with a great cold, something happened to an explosion.
All three of them were blown back with great force.
The Hulk fell backward, stunned even for just a moment.
"Sorry, Bruce!" Rhodey yelled as he turned the weapons on the Hulk.

Bruce's head ached, he felt like someone kicked him in the face. He blinked, and he was sure he could see lights flashed into his eyes, and something was resonating with his skull.
It was almost like someone was trying to wake him up with ultrasonics and lights.
"What?" He looked up to find himself in a lab at Culver University. It was just like when the Hulk was born, smashed, and beyond repair.
Then he saw him bathed in red light, the Hulk unmoving, and his eye vacant as a red ring glowed in his open hands.
Slowly Bruce started to remember what had happened.
"What's going on, Big Guy?" Bruce touched the Hulk and saw what was happening, how an out of control Hulk fought his friends.
Bruce felt sick, but he felt something, the Hulk wasn't in control.
"It's the ring," Bruce mumbled as the Hulk shuddered.

The Hulk screamed the veins on his body began to glow; he flailed around wildly shot of red energy went around randomly.
A bunch of the Dark Matter beetles were torn apart by a wild blast.
Steve managed to block one of the blows with the shield. Tony and Rhodey managed to dodge the blast mid-air.
Jenny and Jack had been in the middle of carrying Alexis and Scarlett away from the front line; Jack used his body to block the blast.
"Well, this shirt is done for." Jack hissed as he felt his skin burn.
One of the blasts struck Mugino, and she screamed as it burned through her arm. Katara drew some water from one of the underground pipes that had been broken during the fight.
"I think I can help." Katara went to heal her, but her flesh melted, revealing scorched steel.
"Don't worry," Kinuhata assured her, "That's her prosthetic arm."
"Still hurts like hell!" Mugino yelled, she turned off her prothetic eyes that were flickering now.
Ava took a deep breath and ran at full force. The Hulk barely noticed, and shield formed to block her, but she phased through them. Ava grabbed his hand and tried to tug on the ring.
The ring flickers.
A-AVA STA- STARR OF EA-EARTH.
YOU HAVE GREAT RAGE IN YOUR HEART!
Ava felt something cling to her; she felt rage. The pain she always had, how angry it made her, how SHIELD had used, how the Pym's cost her the lives of her parents." Her white outfit started turning red.
"Ava!" Scott ran towards her.
She had no one; she was as good as dead. She told that to Scott when he found her, but he tried to save her. Janet tried to save her despite nearly killing her. Bill tried to save her; he knew she could better. She tried to ignore the pain; the rage was bubbling inside her. She needed to focus; there was a chance to get them back; she couldn't give in.
The ring screamed.
CONFLICT EMO-EMOTIONAL RESONANCE REGISTERED.
WILLPOWER OVERRIDING R-RAGE.
The red light left her, and she held onto the ring,
ERROR! ERROR!
The shield Vanished, "It's working."
"Hold him down!" Steve ordered.
"Now!" Kanzaki ordered Itsuwa.
Both magicians pulled out wires and wrapped them around the Hulk, the spell pulled on his skin and tugged him down.
"Aang!" Katara yelled out water bending a whip to wrap around the giant dragging him down. Aang did the same and tried to pull him down.
The Hulk's legs struggled against the force and started to pull away.
"Come on, let this work!" Suki ran behind him with her fan extended and slashed away at his legs. Suki hoped that the pressure points that Mai taught her would work on someone this size. Nebula saw his leg started to tremble and plunged her sword into finally dropping him to the ground.
Scott grew again, and his giant foot pressed down on him, but he still felt the Hulk struggle. "I don't think it's going to last."
"Dogpile!" Tony yelled out. Landing on the Hulk and followed by Rhodey.
Thor flew over and used Storm breaker to pull away from his free hand.
They all added whatever force they could to hold him down.
"Come on, Bruce!" Nat yelled as she tried to pull him down.
Touma rushed at the hand but continued to scan everything around them; it sputtered at Touma to raise an attack. Touma's hand reached for the ring but energy pulse from him pushing the air and Touma away.
The Hulk trembled as he tried to get up.
Kinuhata, The Beetles, tried to push him down.
"He is super strong!" Kinuhata pushed, her small frame felt even with her power she might snap.
"Come on!" Jenny pushed.
"A dog pile with people in skin-tight suits!" Jack hissed, "I can't even enjoy it."
"Not now, Jack!" The Doctor scolded him.
"Captain Cheesecake," Mickey whispered to Martha.
"Just die already!" Mugino moved over, adding her weight, one arm down she still was unwilling to lose.
Rocket jumped in between Suki and Nebula; he wasn't sure why he bothered; he was nothing compared to the weight of the others.
Alexis and Scarlett jumped on barely coming too, CPU and Darkhelm joined in turning into chains to try and pin the Hulk.
Shuatura wasn't sure what was happening but jumped on board; her bodysuit did enhance her strength a fair bit. She pressed, she had met Touma, and he had saved her if he was trying to stop this thing then she should help.
Even Sogiita, with a broken rib, called on his powers and held the Hulk down, "Come on, everyone! Just put in some more guts!"
Steven held the Hulks head, "Come on, just hold on."

Bruce saw the fight happen before him, "The ring is stronger than the Hulk." He looked up to the other he feared and hated but saw that in those eyes, he saw fear.
"You're scared?" He realized something, "You don't like being controlled. Is that why you refused to come out?" He looked at the ring, "I don't know if you can hear me, but if we want to beat this thing, we have to work together."
Bruce grabbed the ring, and the Hulk's hand closed on him.

The group of people trembled as the Hulak started to get up.
"Hurry!" Bruce's voice broke out, Hurry!"
He held himself still, letting the others pin him down.
"Touma, do it now!" Steve called out, "Bruce, his holding him!"
"Got it!" Touma gritted his teeth and pushed himself forwards, and his hand touched the ring.
There was the sound of glass shattering and pulse of energy that blew everyone back, Scott tumbled against the building.
The ring plopped off his hand, and the Hulk moaned and trembled as his body began to shrink.
Soon Bruce was all that was left and flipped onto shi back; he grabbed his chest.
"Boss!" FRIDAY'S voice rang out, "Dr. Banner's heart- it's gone!"
"What do we do?" Natasha asked him.
"There's nothing we can do." Tony told her, "The scans say that his hearts are gone, crushed. That ring looks like it destroyed it and replaced its functions. Without the ring… Bruce…"
Natasha grabbed Bruce's hand as he coughed blood, his body growing cold and slowing down.
"NOOO!"
They all jumped back as the Hulk took over again, he glowed green as he forced his enhanced healing factor to push through all the damage regrowing a heart.
The Hulk settled onto the ground shuddering in pain. "Hulk…. Bruce… no go…we stay…"
With an exhausted breath, he passed out.
"That happened," Aang noted, stunned.
"What happened? Where am I?" Shuatura asked.
"We are taking him into custody." Ross walked over with some soldiers.
"Oh, please." Missy followed suit, "You little soldier all ran out bullets and fell back, those guns are empty."
Yeah, the soldier realized she was right.
"That doesn't change things," Ross snarled at the woman and then turned to the Avengers.
Steve got up, they were all exhausted, and even a fight with ordinary unarmed soldiers wasn't a win at this point.
"Secretary, we have more important things to worry about. We can do this, we might be able to bring everyone back, but we need to work together. We need everyone, Bruce included."
"Empty promises, Captain." Ross shot back, "You will surrender now or-"
THADDEUS ELLIOT ROSS OF EARTH.
YOU HAVE GREAT RAGE IN YOUR HEART.
"What?" Touma was the first to react, the red ring, covered in the Hulk's blood hovered into the air. Touma tried to grab it, but it flew from him.
Maybe it was because of it part technology that wasn't being been messed with at the moment. Perhaps it was because compensating? Maybe it was self-repairing. It didn't matter; the ring was active, and it flew onto Ross' hand.
"Shit!" Several people said that.
SWIP. BANG.
It happened so fast no one took it in, but Ross' hand exploded, taking the ring with it. He fell backward and unresponsive.
Natasha found a broken arrow at her feet.
At a distance, they could make out a man with a bow.

Steve and Rhodey smooth things over with the soldiers. The soldiers didn't exactly agree with Ross but were unable to ignore a direct order. Maybe it was the stress of the situation, but Ross had been acting strangely.
Martha had helped stabilize his injury. Not that there was much to do the explosion destroyed his hand but cauterize it too. The soldiers were going to take them, and the soldiers that were injured.
They even agreed to testify that Ross started everything, which he kind of did. They weren't even sure he got the okay from his superiors, and with everything happening, it was likely not to be investigated. Ross wasn't going to make it an issue, he was out, and it didn't look like he was going to come too.
The second in command talk to Steve and Rhodey, "Do you guys really think you can bring them back?"
Steve tried to be optimistic, "I don't know, but we're going to give it our best shot. I know that doesn't seem like much-"
"It's enough, before this… my dad raised me on stories of Captain America. Before this, I had a wife and son, and if you're saying you're going to try, I'm going to believe we got a shot."
"We'll do our best."
The soldier saluted, "Captain. Colonel."
They returned the gesture, and the man headed out with his men.
Rhodey smiled, for the first time in days, Steve looked happy even if a little bit, "Look at that, don't tell me that doesn't feel good."
"It's okay,"
"Just okay?"
"Maybe a little better than okay."

Natasha sat in silence with Clint. He had arrived just in time, but he didn't come with good news. Natasha had tried to call him, but it never went through.
There was nothing she could say that would make this situation better. She just sat with him to make sure he knew he wasn't alone.

Martha, Mickey, and the Doctor had treated the injured; Katara was a big help with the smaller things. Ava had started to seize again, but they got it under control. Bruce… was alive, which was a lot better then they expected. He was unresponsive at the moment.
Mugino was out, and they would need to rebuild her arm. They eventually got Sogiita to lay down and sedated him so he'd stop trying to move.
Jack, Rocket, Missy, and Nebula were double-checking that none of the tech they brought from the Garden was going to do anything else do anything.
CPU and Darkhelm had begun to repair the Gate, it was nothing too severe, but they would probably have to make sure it could handle more weight.
Jenny calibrated some more of the wrist device and handed them out as Tony and Alexis explained things.
Jenny told them, "Okay, keep those on, should make sure you get translations quickly."
Touma looked confused, "Why you're all speaking Japanese?"
"Nope," Alexis told him, "Or maybe, the algorithm is a bit weird. It messes with language centers of the brain. Sometimes it easier to make the wearer speak a new language than just make everyone around them understand-"He shook his head, "It should just make it easier for everyone to understand everyone. It should be fine, but try not to touch it with your right hand."
"We got to name them," Tony commented. "You're not great with names."
"If you want to name them?"
"The devices translate, they teleport us, they tether us. How about TDs?"
"Sure,"
"And the gate?"
"What about it?"
"Gate? It's so generic. And we keep calling the doorways there as gates; it's confusion. Let's call those the gates and the overall machine the Hub. It pretty much works like one."
"Okay, okay, fine."
Scarlett clapped her hands, "Can we do this later?"
Kakine transformed back into his pure white human form as Jenny gave him one of the TDs.
Itsuwa asked, "So you brought Kamijou here because you wanted his help?"
"yeah, I can't say I understand how that hand works," Tony admitted, "but with someone with Thanos powers, it might be useful."
Kanzaki listened; she thought she was a pretty good judge of character. These people didn't seem to be lying. They all seemed genuine in their desire to defeat this Thanos and undo what had been done. Maybe the vision was mistaken or misread.
Aang was playing with the switches and buttons on the watch device.
Suki asked, "So, what is your plan?"
"Find allies, friends, and like-minded people," Steve walked over, "those who can help. We plan to gather our resources together and find a way to tackle this situation. We need to find Thanos, beat him, and take the gauntlet from him."
Though Tony agreed to send anyone back home who didn't want apart of this, most agreed to help.
Aang, Katara, and Suki agreed to stay; they were already on board. Touma knew the plan and agreed. Kakine decided as he too had lost people and wanted them back. He assured them that when Kakine got up, he'd be eager to join. Kinuhata seemed interested but didn't agree to stay until she talked to Mugino.
Itsuwa and Kanzaki decided to remain, for many reasons, including making sure Touma was safe. If something were wrong, they'd try to convince him to come back with them.
Shuatura wanted to stay too help, and her mech was damaged. She also pointed out that there were dark aspects in the city she was from. If she returned, she'd have to explain what happened, and she was likely not going to enjoy the experience. Something both Itsuwa and Kanzaki both agreed about out even on their side of things. But if they were able to bring everyone back, then their return would likely be hidden. If all things failed, there would be ways to return safely, but it would take time to set up. In the meanwhile, she'd be happy to try and help.
Tony was pretty pleased with those they recruited, even if most were tagalongs.
"Okay, what next?" Tony asked.
"I got some ideas," Steve told them, "we can work on multiple fronts. I think there are some more people in this world. We can ask for help."
Alexis sat behind the Hub's controls and brought up multiple holographic screens. "Scout has been busy. Now that we've worked out some of the kinks in the tech. More or less," he cleared his throat, "Uh, he found several worlds with people that might be able to help."
Many of the holographic screens began to worlds with people performing rituals or building equipment.
"We could send them a message to help them along, and" Alexis opened up more screens, "and there were several worlds who could provide help even if they couldn't find their way here."
Many of those worlds showed people helping their fellow men, some fighting threats in their world, some training for a fight they never knew would arrive.
"We can send them messages to see what they think, see if they want to talk, and we can visit them. So, where do you want to start?"
DAKARA SG-02
CAPITAL, FREE JAFFA NATION
The desert planet was usually peaceful, but it broke its chaos today.
After the fights with the Ori, the Jaffa rebuilt their capital city. They hoped after past errors and scars; this would be a sign of how they would always rise again.
The newly built city was under attack, and the Jaffa were loosing.
Anubis walked across the battlefield; his very presence horrified the Jaffa. This was his universe; many of those who were running from him had been under her service. Thanos had restored him, and once again, his containment suit was whole, he looked like the cloaked figure of death strolling the battlefield.
Anubis stretched out his hand and electricity coiled in his hand, he fired off and struck one of the treacherous Jaffa. Anubis had often plotted when he could use these powers again, but this victory lacked. The Ancient had fled or died, and he survived, and he lived.
Vilgax pointed forwards, commanding his drones to fly ahead and fire at the warriors. One of the Jaffa held a staff weapon and fired plasma at Vilgax. Vilgax merely blocked the blow and rushed forwards. He wasted no time and slamming the Jaffa to the ground and crushing his skull. He ripped the staff from his hands; he decided he might keep it as a trophy. These warriors were fierce; they didn't beg at their death; they just fought to their last. Still, he couldn't enjoy the battle. Even the look of terror as their "god" Anubis returned wasn't amusing.
Frieza was bored; these creatures were not much sport. A bit of training, they might make better soldiers than his. But even now the Frieza Force was slaughtering them, they seemed to lack the ability to fly, and that helped a great deal. Though these Jaffa still managed to shoot down a few of his men. Though that just saved him the problem.
Frieza flew around their ships, these Death Gliders with ease. He held a finger, and a quick beam shot down. Frieza did marvel at their design, almost like a bird with widespread wings, there was something majestic about it, and he approved.
Frieza looked up where several pyramid-shaped ships hovered above, releasing more of these Death Gliders.
"The design is really quite nice." Frieza complimented.
Frieza wasn't even in his golden form; he kept shooting these ships down. The larger vessels did have shields that he couldn't pierce without putting more effort. He didn't want to put the effort, and honestly, he didn't have time to build up the needed energy. The Gliders weren't powerful but kept blasting him, forcing him to move and focus on them.
He might say he was having a bit of fun, but he wasn't.
There were only three reasons to beg for mercy from an enemy.
First was because you lost, and you were too afraid to face death. That wasn't something any of them feared, not anymore.
Second, they were incompetent or gullible and believed they should serve their victor. They weren't that.
The third reason was that they were using them or waiting for a chance.
Thanos strode across the battlefield without a concern. He followed Anubis to the edge of the ruins of a once-grand temple.
Anubis reported, "It was once here,"
"I see," Thanos replied.
"It looks like it was destroyed in my absence."
Thanos held out the gauntlet, and the power and green stones began to glow. He slowly twisted his arm, and the rocks started to move back in place, rewinding time and reassembling the building.
The Jaffa stood in equal parts awe and horror as the temple and the weapon that once sat on top rebuild themselves. The Jaffa spent millenniums worshiping the G'ould, an alien race that enslaved them as their gods. They managed to do many things, but nothing like that.
Anubis had been a G'ould, and he hated to admit that this was beyond him. And the Dakara Superweapon soon was rebuilt in all it's glory, a weapon that could wipe out all life in the Galaxy.
One of the Jaffa braved getting closer to Thanos to try to blast him. The blast never reached Thanos with a flick of his thumb portal open, swallowing the blasting and opening up right in the Jaffa's face.
That was why the conquerors didn't move against Thanos. They all joined with the same mindset, wait until there was a chance and strike him down. They'd steal the gauntlet and take all of creation for theirs. The problem was the chance never arrived, even distracted using his powers Thanos kept a keen head and could manipulate the world for his advantage. If any of them moved, he could end them without a second thought.
They had no choice but to serve now, betraying him would mean death. And what was coming would soon mean a fate worse than that if they were not on his side when it happened.
A Hyperspace window opened up, and a large grey ship flew out. It didn't wait for an instant before it fired upon them, one blast getting Frieze by surprise and knocking him to the ground.
More ships filled the air forcing Vilgax back. Anubis from a distance saw a grey metal ring come to life, and water like energy filled it. Soon soldiers in black wielding guns rushed through offering supporting fire to Jaffa and making their way to the temple.
"Tau'ri," Anubis growled, "They could be troublesome."
"No need to worry," Thanos assured him, "We are done here."
Thanos smiled if this weapon was what Anubis promised it could be quiet useful.
The blue gemstone began to glow.
"Why you-!" Frieze screamed, ready to kill them all when a portal swallowed. Vilgax, his drones, and the Frieze force were all swallowed next by various portal. Anubis stepped into his own portal.
Thanos handled the gauntlet as they stones glowed, and the ground trembled. A massive portal formed at the foot of the temple, and it began to sink into it. Thanos looked at the warrior and the humans that just arrived. Soon the temple was gone.
One of the human soldiers grabbed his communication device, "Stargate Command, we got trouble."

The various Luthor's mulled over the data they had gathered. Luthor-92 brought a damaged Mother Box, which helped to collect some more information and confirmed more distressing information.
Indigo double checked the information and confirmed their results. They came to one-course actions; it wasn't one that any of them were eager to carry out.
Luthor 38 looked at the plan they had before them. "Okay, I think this one will work. We've gone over it a dozen times. Considering the scope of things ten-seconds is great."
Luthor 73 agreed, "As, morally questionable as this might be, we really don't have much of an option."
Luthor 00 sighed, "Then it's settled one universe needs to end so all the others can live. Let's get started we don't have much time left."
Author's Notes: Hi, things haven't been great for me. Lost my job, stuck at home. Been depressed, had a fair bit of anxiety. So yeah, don't count on fast updates, I'm just not in the best mind set to write.
So for my notes, Ross has always been marked with E. as his middle initial but I can't find his middle name. Like they never came up with it. I gave him Elliot after his actor in the Lee movie, I like Sam Elliot.
SG-02 is the world of Stargate, same universe that Anubis came from. Whose seen that universe?
The fight against the Red Lantern hulk was hard, I didn't get to show everyone because well there were a lot of character. I'm not going to have everyone fight one guy any time soon.
The ring was damaged to start off with, probably why the shields kept breaking. In reality with a working ring the Hulk would have been far more dangerous and have been a real world Breaker.
Or at least able to destroy the world a lot faster.
Okay, so there going to send messages out and some people are going to start coming in no their own. Others will be talk to and might need some help. If you guys have any prefrences of worlds we've seen already let me know.

DeltaGamer: Well, they tried to talk to him. But exploding his hand and putting him in a coma works too. But to be fair he did lose someone important to him, his daughter. Their relationship hasn't been the best but the last few months have been a bit better.
Power levels are shit. Thanos is currently hands down the most powerful being in existence except maybe an almighty god, that depends on your own religious views. Those working for Thanos know they can't beat him, he doesn't leave his guard down. And if they give him a reason he can erase them.
danielhakkim054: Probably not. The Doctor and Missy already stated how these stones work that going back in time would not help. Event would still happen and the snap would still happen across existence.
If the Luthors are right it doesn't look like we have five years.
