Chapter: 24 Self Destruct
All the aliens fell off from the jerk of the ship. B.O.B. became a spiral slide. Link set me down and pushed me down the B.O.B. slide. I screamed as I turned around and curved down. Then at the end my body, without the strength to catch myself, did a face plant. Link jumped over my body and picked me up by the scruff of the neck.
"Nice landing," he said sarcastically.
I stuck my tongue at him.
Susan came down last. Then B.O.B. morphed down to his usual shape. His eyeball bobbed to the surface and swiveled to look at us.
"Where's Doc?" he asked. We all look down sadly. Not sure whether to tell him or not. Suddenly a speaker cracked and fizzed and a voice announced there was thirty minutes till the ship self- destructs. We all ran to the opening where we once got in.
A lot of flying saucers were flying out of the Mother Ship. The Mother Ship shook some more, and chunks of it started to fall.
We ducked for cover.
"How are we going to get off this ship!?" asked Susan over the loud noises of the breaking down ship. "I don't know!" answered Link. Suddenly the part where we stood gave away. We all screamed and grabbed to whatever we could. I couldn't since my arms didn't want to cooperate with me.
I was a sitting duck. Link grabbed my arm before I fell off the edge. Then the ship jerked some more and then Susan was holding to part of the ship. B.O.B. suctioned on to Susan's back while Link held on to her pant leg while gripping one of my wings.
Oh you don't know how it feels to have wings that are feeling like they are being ripped out of your back. I screeched in pain.
"Calm down Bat! We will die in a minute!" Link yelled to me. Then the ship gave away and then we were falling through the sky. "AAAAAAAAAAHHHHHHHHHHHH! We all screamed as we waited to meet our fate. Suddenly something flew under us and caught us in time before we hit the ground. "Think again Link!" answered a familiar voice.
It was Monger!
He survived the explosion.
Then the thing that saved us roared. It was Insecto! I started to tear up. "Insecto! You're alive!" yelled Link excitedly as he slid down to Insectos nose. He then noticed Insecto's transformation.
"Aaand you are a butterfly," he said as he smiled nervously at the eyelashes of the huge butterfly. Then Insecto/ Butterflyausaurous flew down to land. Susan picked me up and set me down against a boulder.
"What happened to Bat?" asked Monger as he got off Butterflyausaurous. "She defeated a Mother Slug and it knocked all the strength out of her," answered Susan as she stood up.
We then heard a loud explosion. Part of the mother ship exploded and now it looked like an upside down Y. Suddenly it slowly soared over us and kept going straight.
"What the-?" said B.O.B. as he watched it go over and go over the Desert Mountains. "Where is it going?" asked Susan.
Monger and Link shrugged.
Then it disappeared over the mountains.
Then Monger gasped.
"It's heading toward San Francisco!" he said.
We all gasped.
"It's going to self destruct!" I finally said.
"You monsters aren't done fighting the aliens! Get your butts over to San Francisco and stop that ship! Go! Go! Go!" yelled Monger. We did as we were told.
I tried getting up, but since I was taking my time to get up and Link wasn't born patient, Link grabbed me and chucked me up and over on Butterflyausaurous.
"Well that was nice," Susan said sarcastically as she got up on B.
"We don't have time to wait for her to take her first steps we have to go!" Link snapped at her. Then when B.O.B. oozed up on B. and we were off.
I spat out some of B.'s orange hair and rolled over on my back. I sat up slowly and looked down at the small world. Then I looked where we were heading.
The sun was rising over the faint ocean. Fog swirled around in the sky making the sunrise a blur of orange and yellow. I could barely see The Golden Gate Bridge.
Wow.
It was amazing.
The wind whipped through my short dark hair and my bruised ears. Then I saw the Mother ship in front of us, and I could've sworn I heard it:
Ten minutes till self- destruct.
