Jane and Maura!! Love and Happiness!! The Life We Have Chosen:

Chapter 28

As Maura stood watching through the observation window as her wife, Jane doing physical therapy, she was both hopeful and thankful for the progress that Jane had been making over the last 6 weeks. Jane had amazed everyone, including the Doctors, nurse, and therapists, she had beaten death again, and was proven to be a force to be reckon with. Over the last few weeks, she had became known as a very determined, hard head, and stubborn patient, when it came to listening to the instructions that was given to her by doctors, nurses and therapists, the only person that she listened to was her wife Maura. Jane had spend 3 weeks in the hospital, and after a shouting match with the hospital staff, who was more than happy to released her to Maura, who had made every arrangement possible so that Jane could come home and be taken care of. Jane was relieved when in the middle of the argument, when she felt a small hand on her shoulder, and the soft voice of her wife, Maura telling her to get in the wheelchair, so they could go home, Jane sat down, and snapped her mouth closed. Smiling up at her wife as she was wheeled out to the awaiting SUV. The ride home was silent, Maura gently woke up Jane, once they arrived home. The whole family was glad that Jane was home.

Alot of things had changed since the shooting, decisions were being made by both of the women concerning their's careers, neither woman had mentioned what each was thinking. They were focused on Jane's recovery and physical therapy. The PT told Maura that it was a great thing that Jane was physically active and in great shape, it would be a plus in her recovery. Jane had always prided herself in keeping physically fit, running and hitting the gym daily. Maura loved her wife and was proud of her wife's proud, she found Jane still the sexy badass woman, she fell in love with all those years ago, and Jane still had an affect on her just by looking at her. She was pulled out of her thoughts when she was pulled into a hug by two strong arms, and felt lips kissing her. Breathing in the scent of Jane, she relaxed into the loving embraced of Jane. Breaking apart from the kiss, Jane whispers should I be worry that you are dreaming and thinking of someone else, baby? Opening her eyes, Maura looked up into those chocolate eyes that she loved, and smiled saying No, sweetheart, you are the only one for me, you still the one and will always be, leaning in for another kiss. She loved this woman and couldn't get enough of her.

Jane had been focusing on her recovery and PT, since waking up in the hospital weeks earlier, she had also been doing alot of soul searching and thinking about her wife, children and career. So today after completing her PT and finishing her laps in the pool, she was now playing in the shadow end of the pool with Ava Grace and Susie. Maura was in the kitchen making lunch for them, she had been outside with them earlier and the two kids were playing while Jane finished her laps. Both being like their Mama, had decided to jump into the shadow end of the pool as their Mama was swimming to that end of the pool. They were mini versions of Jane and since the shooting had been clingy wanting their Mama attention constantly. Maura couldn't blame any of their children, they all in one way or another, would seek out Jane wanting her attention and comfort from her, Maura was the same way she had to feel, see, and touch Jane. Especially at night when sleeping, Jane noticed Maura now slept on top of her, wrapping her arms tightly around Jane. Maura could never get enough sex with Jane, she often would take Jane at various times and places, needing to feel her. Jane enjoyed this side of her wife and after being married to her wife all these years, she understood this was Maura's way of coping.

After getting out of the pool, drying of the girls and herself, they ate lunch, cleaning the table, both girls fell asleep after eating lunch, placing them on the sofa outside under the patio and covering them. Jane asked Maura if they could talk, Maura nodded. Maura was now sitting in Jane's lap. Clearing her throat she asked Maura if she would love her any less if she wasn't a detective anymore? Stating that for the last few years, she has been beaten, kidnapped, poisoned, stabbed, and shot more times than she would like, her body was riddled with scars and she was healing as fast as she used to. That she would like to see their children graduated high school, college, fall in love, get married and have their own children. She had been thinking, but wanted to discuss maybe retiring and for awhile just staying home spending time with her and their children, but if Maura didn't agree she would return to the force after she was released from her Doctors. Please don't be mad or upset at me, Maura. Maura sat there looking into the woman that was the love of her life, soulmate, her everything and her world.

Minutes had passed, Maura was going over everything that Jane had said and was trying to form the words to answer Jane. Because Maura had been doing alot of thinking of her own, since the shooting, while sitting by Jane's bedside, and during her recovery. She had been waiting for the right time to bring up the subject. Leaning in passionately kissing her wife, she pulled back when both of them needed air. As she started to answer Jane, the doorbell rung.
