Chapter 25: A Canterlot Masquerade Madness Part 2
Inside the Canterlot Ballroom, there are plenty of ponies and creatures wearing different costumes. There are tables around with decorations of different colors. All the ponies appear to have a good time. The group of friends walk inside to be greeted by the princesses and the pillars, even Stygian. Like every creature else, they are also wearing costumes as well.
Princess Celestia smiles and says, "Twilight. Sun. I'm glad that you all are able to make it."
"We wouldn't miss it," Twilight says.
"Yeah. Especially when there's a party involved," Pinkie happily says.
The group then begins to giggle with smiles on their faces.
Sun walks to Somnambula, "Hi Somnambula, it's good to see you again."
"And I am happy to see you, child. It has been quite a while," Somnambula says.
"So how are you and your friends doing?" Sun asks.
Stygian walks over, "We've been having a good time. To be honest, I'm also a little nervous."
"I think we all are. We've never been to a costume party before. It seems exciting enough to go when Princess Celestia and Princess Luna," Meadow Brook says.
"Well. I know that you all will have a wonderful time," Twilight says.
Twilight looks around and asks, "Where's Flash Magnus?"
"He's part of security in case any unwanted visitors decided to come to the party," Luna says.
"You can say that again. With our history of having some bad guy crashing the party one way or another," Rainbow says.
"Indeed," Rarity says, dressed as a mermaid.
Celestia turns to Sun and the Dazzlings. Girls, if it's not too much trouble. The band we asked to the party is unable to make it. We were wondering if you can play a song."
Sun and the Dazzlings smile.
And Sun says, "We don't mind at all."
"Sure. We don't mind giving the ponies a show while we're here," Aria says.
Sonata happily says, "Yay! That sounds like fun!"
Every creature in the group cheers with excitement, and begins to split up to go have some fun.
Rosy turns to Cozy Glow and asks, "So Cozy Glow, you wanna go get something to eat?"
"No thanks. I'm not feeling too hungry right now," Cozy Glow says.
Then she turns her head to see Sun, Twilight is leaving with Somnambula and Starswirl.
"I think I'm going to go dancing," Cozy Glow says.
"Alright but remember to stay with your teachers so you won't get lost," Blossom Glow says.
"I will," Cozy Glow says.
"And don't forget to have fun," Nights Glow says.
"Okay," Cozy Glow says.
Then Cozy Glow leaves her family to go to the dance floor with Sun and the others. Unknown to the group, the ghost ball is secretly flying over them in the ceiling and see the group of friends down below. Soon, the party continues with excitement and fun.
At the table, Pinkie, Fluttershy, Meadow Brook, Rarity, and Mist Mane are talking and chatting at the table. At the same time, Applejack, the Crusaders, Yona, Gallus and the other young students are listening to one of Rockhoof's stories and they love to hear it.
On the dance floor, Sun, and the others are dancing to the music and are having fun. Sun and Somnambula talk to each other with smiles on their faces.
Sun says, "And then Pinkie is somehow able to put up an entire last minute party with one hour with just her party cannon."
"See that your friend Pinkie from your world has the same characteristics as the Pinkie Pie I come to know in Equestria," Somnambula says.
"You can say that. Then again, I know how those two are and always manage to do practically the impossible," Sun says.
The two mares begin giggling. Then the two mares turn to see Cozy Glow who is dancing with glee. She is dancing as she jumps on the ground and then begins to fly in the air with twirls and gracefulness. The ponies and creatures who see her look up and are smiling to see Cozy Glow dancing so gracefully. Sun and the others are surprised to see how gracefully Cozy Glow is dancing on the ground and in the air.
"Wow. I never knew Cozy Glow can dance like that," Fluttershy says.
"I know. She got the moves," Pinkie says.
"And they are very elegant," Rarity says.
Everypony continues to be surprised, impressed, and happy to see Cozy Glow's elegant dancing. Night Glow, Blossom, Glow, and Rose Glow are also happy to see Cozy Glow dancing and having so much fun.
Celestia, "I must say, Cozy Glow surely knows how to dance," Celestia says.
"Indeed," Luna says.
"Hmm, it's strange. Cozy Glow told me that she can dance, but never told me it was like this," Twilight says.
"I must admit, Cozu Glow is a great dancer. Right Somnambula," Sun says, turning to her ancestor.
She then noticed the stunned and yet, sad look on her face.
"Somnambula, are you okay?" Somnambula?" Sun asks, but isn't receiving a reply.
Somnambula is completely lost to see Cozy Glow dancing go gracefully and with a big smile on her face. Cozy Glow is soon replaced with a different pegasu that resembles Sun, but wears a silk like crown and a tiara on her head. Somnambula's eyes begin to get watery and on the verge of tears.
She softly says, "Sun Goddess."
"Um, Somnambula?" Sun asks.
The mare shakes her head and turns to Sun as she wipes the tears from her eyes.
"Yes?" Somnambula replies.
"Are you feeling okay?" Sun asks.
"Yes. I'm feeling okay," Somnambula says.
Sun however is not fully convinced that Somnambula is okay. In fact, she is worried to see the tears coming from her eyes. She decides not to push it and allow her to explain when she feels comfortable. Above the ceiling, the mysterious ghost ball continues to watch over them from above and is waiting for the perfect moment.
Throughout the party, Sun, Twilight, and the others have all kinds of fun. They play games, eat food, dance, and all kinds of excitement at the Masquerade Party. But as the night goes by, Sun is starting to notice something odd. Sun notices that Cozy Glow is starting to become close with Somnambula. In fact, Cozy Glow has been with Somnambula throughout the night, never leaving her side. She also hears Cozy Glow calling Somnambual mother or mama a few times. She can tell that Cozy Glow and Somnambula are starting to bond, but the way Cozy Glow acts towards her is strange.
After that, she calls Twilight, Applejack, and her girls, along with the Dazzlings to discuss her confusion. When she tells her friends, Twilight and the others become confused.
"I don't see what you find so strange. I think it's nice that Cozy Glow is hanging out with Somnambula," Applejack says.
"True, but she rather be with her and no pony else. Even Crescendo and Rose asked if Cozy Glow can hang out with them and the others, but she always says no," Sun says.
Twilight says, "I have to admit, I've noticed that Cozy Glow called Blossom Glow by her name and instead of calling her mom. And yet, she called Somnambula mom."
"I have to agree. Cozy Glow's dancing seems to have Somnambula in some kind of daze. Almost as if she has seen that specific dance before," Fluttershy says.
"I don't see what the big deal is," Rainbow says.
"And there's something else. I talked to Crescendo earlier and he told me that he saw Cozy Glow walking down the halls in the school at night. When he went to talk to her, she doesn't remember leaving her room," Sun says.
"And let's not forget her dreams that seem to be blank out of. Of course, many ponies sometimes forget their dreams, but those dreams she has were nightmares. I don't know what is going on, but it has me concerned when she slept through my class," Rarity says.
"Hmm, maybe we should talk to Cozy Glow and Somnambula to see what's going on. I think Somnambula is also getting attached with Cozy Glow as well," Sun says.
"Sounds good, but as I recall, it's about time for you and the Dazzlings to perform," Twilight says.
Sun and the Dazzling answer, "Right."
Soon enough, Sun and the Dazzlings are on the stage. Sun uses her magic to change all four of them into human beings and are still wearing their costumes. All four are mostly standing in front of the microphone while the band is behind. Sun then points her finger to the pony band and they begin to play loud music that brings up the ponies and other creatures mode. Sun then grabs the microphone and begins to sing.
Sun:
Smash through the blocks that bar your way
No time for fear just let it all fall away
The Dazzlings:
(all fall away)
Sun:
Nobody believes in me and you, just look at the way they stare
So what if we live in a walled garden, as long as I've got you then I don't care
The band continues to play as the drums are being beat and the guitars are strumming. All the creatures in the party is enjoying the music
Sun:
Kick off the wall and take the plunge
Tripping through 2 dimensions
Up on the moon we'll twirl and swoon
Just lead the way
The Dazzlings:
(and I'll follow you)
Soon, Sun and the Dazzlings transform, gaining their pony ears, wings, and extended hair.
Sun:
I'll throw my hat in the ring, 'cause you're the one
A miracle in three dimensions
Follow the brick path straight to my heart
And we'll grab the flag together the fireworks are gonna start
Sun and the Dazzlings continues to perform, making the whole crowd excited. The ghost ball that is above the ceiling is watching them as well. Sun continues to perform as the Dazzling sing backup.
Sun:
Shake off the chains, you're running free
You'll be amazed at all that there is to see
The Dazzlings:
(there is to see)
Sun:
Together we're racing for the goal, and no one can stop us now
Maybe we don't know where we're going, but we're gonna get there somehow
Climb up the vine and land in the clouds
Maybe then we'll swap up for down
'cross the sea we're still you and me
I'll follow you
The Dazzlings:
(Just lead the way)
Sun:
You've got me over the moon, and that's no jest
We're miles above the rest
Look in your eyes and I know we'll be fine
So let's shoot for the stars and make this love really shine
The trumpets continue to blow as the drum gives the beat and the guitars are strumming.
Sun:

Once the song is done, every creature cheers with excitement. Sun and the Dazzlings give each other High-fives for doing a great performance. Sun then notices how close Somnambula and Cozy Glow are now, and thinks it's time for them to figure out why.
Before she can, somepony lets out a scream.
Then stallion exclaims, "What is that thing?"
"It looks like a ghost ball or something," A mare panics.
Suddenly, Twinkle screams, "I'm scared of ghosts!"
Every creature looks up to see a glowing white ball that is flying around. All the creatures in the room begin to panic and run away like crazy. The ghost ball continues to fly around, almost like it's looking for something.
Rarity turns to Discord, "Uh Discord, please tell me this is a prank."
"To be honest…" Discord says.
"No," Cosmos and Screwball answers.
"Then what is it?" Rainbow asks.
The ghost ball then begins to fly around the sky and fly around. Sun and the Dazzlings. Then around Twilight, Applejack, Fluttershy, Rarity, Rainbow Dash. Rainbow tries to catch it, but she missions. Finally around Pinkie. Pinkie giggles as the ghost ball flies around her. The ghost ball flies to Cozy Glow. Cozy Glow then begins to follow the ghost ball.
"Cozy Glow!" Crescendo exclaims.
Crescendo then chases after her.
"Sandbar, wait for us!" Screwball calls out.
Screwball, Sandbar, Yona, and the others begin to follow after her.
"Kids, come back," Twilight comes out.
"Crescendo, wait for us!" Sonata calls out and hurries up to catch up with Crescendo.
Twilight and the others hurry after them. Celesta, Luna, Starswirl and the pillars, even Cozy Glow's family follow them. They leave through the doors and down the hall. Cozy Glow's eyes change to a strange teal color and continues to chase after the ghost ball. Sun, and the others hurry after them.
Sun asks, "Where are they going?"
"I don't know, but something really weird is going on here," Twilight says.
"And we won't find out until we figure out where they're heading," Luna says.
The group continues to follow Cozy glow and the ghost ball until they reach the room. Soon, the door closes behind them all when every creature enters the room.
Sun asks, "Cozy Glow, are you okay? What's going on?"
"We're sorry to have brought you here?" A familiar voice asks.
The ghost ball travels down to Twilight, Sun, and the others as the ponies and creatures stare in shock. Suddenly, the ghost ball changes to a transparent glittering version of Twilight.
Sandbar quickly recognized her, "It's the Tree of Harmony."
"Hello young ones, it's good to see you again. I'm sorry about all this, but it is the only way for us to make contact with you," Spirit Twilight says.
"We?" Rainbow asks.
Suddenly, an unknown voice appears from Cozy Glow, "Yes. I'm afraid that Equestria will soon face a terrible ordeal."
The group becomes shocked to hear the voice coming from Cozy Glow.
"Cozy Glow?" Sun asks.
Pinkie gasps and panics, "She's been possessed by a spirit."
"Not quite, but it's someone Somnambula and the other Pillars know very well," Spirit Twilight says.
Cozy Glow walks to Somnambula and says with a smile, "Mother, I… I'm very glad to be able to see you again. I haven't seen you since you had to leave with Stygian and the others to fight the sirens."
Somnambula becomes shocked. And soon, she begins to smile as tears begin to fall down her face.
She then softly asks, "Sun Goddess, my child? Is that you?"
"Yes, mother. I am Sun Goddess," Cozy Glow says in the spirit's voice.
She then hugs the older Pegasus, "I miss you so much mother."
"And I too, my child," Somnambula says.
Sun Goddess in Cozy Glow's body looks at her and the others. Twilight, Sun, and the others are in a state of shock. Cozy Glow is possessed by Sun Goddess, Somnambula's daughter and Sun's ancestor. Sun is the only other being who is just as stunned as she is.
"I do apologize for possessing your friend, but it is the only way for me to speak to you," Sun Goddess says.
"I'm afraid we don't understand. You said that Equestria is going to have a great ordeal," Sun asks.
"I'm afraid so. Your enemies, Tirek, Chrysalis, and the Storm King are up to something. A plan that requires them to use Grogar's Bell and to destroy Equestria once and for all," Spirit Twilight answers.
The group gasps in shock to hear the terrible danger that will arrive to Equestria and the three villains: Tirek, Chrysalis, and the Storm King are the main problem.
