Summary: "I thought Agent A. was your mom." "Wait, seriously?"
"Hey, Rob!" Wally said, springing himself over the couch.
"Hey, Walls."
"How'd the cooking lessons go? Is the kitchen still standing?" Wally teased, poking him in the side. Robin made a noise of protest, before giving Wally a shove.
"As a matter a fact it is. And I brought the result here to prove it."
"Awesome, dude."
"And because you're not a good enough judge because you will literally eat anything, I brought the rest over for dinner for the team."
"Sweet! And I am too a good judge!" Wally said, indignantly. Robin raised an eyebrow, as Wally glared at him.
"Come on, help me set the table and stuff and we'll call the team in."
"You got it, dude."
...
"This is great, dude!"
"Yeah, this is great Robin! I can't believe you made this! You'll have to give me a few tips next time I make dinner." M'gann said, happily taking another bite of mashed potatoes.
"Thanks, M'gann. I'm still learning though. The one you should really be thanking is Agent A. for teaching me."
"Tell Agent A. He'll have to give me a few pointers next time I'm over there," Wally said, around a mouth full of food.
"Wait, "he"?" Artemis said, frowning.
Wally glanced at Rob. "Well yeah." He said, swallowing his food. "Agent A. is a he."
"What?!" Artemis said.
Connor frowned. "I thought Agent A. was your mom."
Wally and Robin both blinked, before simultaneously bursting out into laughter before they noticed the rest of the team didn't join in. "Wait seriously?" Robin said, a hint of laughter remaining in his voice.
"Well, the way you spoke of him led us to assume," Kaulder said, trailing off.
"Really?" Robin asked, surprised. He gave Wally a questioning look. The redhead just shrugged, before shoving another bite of chicken into his mouth. "Like when?"
"Well..." M'gann piped up.
"Hi, Robin!" M'gann greeted him as he entered the kitchen.
"Hey, M'gann. What are you making?" He asked, taking a bite of the apple he had just grabbed.
"I'm making brownies, but the batter's not turning out quite right."
Robin peered into the bowl. "Try adding an extra egg. That's what Agent A. showed me to do. It usually helps." He offered, before walking out of the room.
"And ever since then, my cookies have turned out how they're supposed to. And on TV the moms are always the ones helping with cooking and baking, and they always know what to add or change if a recipe's not turning out right." M'gann said, blushing a little.
Robin frowned a little. "I guess. But just because he knows a lot about cooking, doesn't make him my mom."
"While that may be true, it's not the only occurrence that caused this suspicion," Kaulder said.
Recognized. Robin. B01
"Hello, Robin. Are you going to join us for the movie?" Aqualad inquired, as Robin walked into the cave's den, where the rest of the team was gathered getting ready to watch a movie.
"Yeah, gotta change first," Robin said, yawning. "No sweaty suits on the couch." He mumbled, heading to the bedrooms. The team looked after him confused, before Wally burst out laughing, turning the confused looks his direction.
"He forgot where he was." He said, waving it off. "Agent A. would kill him if he or Batman ever sat on the furniture with their costumes still on, and has a strict rule about changing and getting their costumes in the wash before they're even allowed near the furniture." He explained, with a chuckle.
The team just nodded, excepting the answer.
"Okay, so he's a little strict about laundry and tracking dirt and grime in the house. Big deal."
"Usually on earth TV shows it's the mom always doing the laundry, and telling the kids to be careful about getting things dirty," M'gann said.
"Yeah, man. He's stricter about that than Aunt I. And that's saying something." Wally said, giving him a pointed look.
"Yeah," Connor grunted. "And you're always saying how Agent A. makes sure you get your homework done. Isn't that what parents do? and if Batman is your dad, then Agent A. had to be your mom." Connor concluded. Robin just face-palmed and didn't bother to correct the fact that Batman wasn't even his dad. That would lead to way too many questions.
"And Agent A. always seems to be packing you food or snacks and stuff, and that's usually what mom's do," Artemis said, chiming in.
"Hey dude, you coming to the beach with us?" Wally asked, standing in Robin's doorway, with the rest of the team in the hall behind him.
Robin sighed. "I gotta finish this English assignment first. Agent A. will kill me if I don't have this done by the time I get home."
"When's it due?"
"Tonight."
"Ouch."
"Yeah. And you know how Agent A. gets when I leave assignments till the last minute." Robin sighed.
"Yeah. Well, good luck, dude. Join us when you're done." Wally said, flashing (no pun intended) him a thumbs up. Robin returned the gesture before turning back to his homework.
"Dude, you got the goods?" Wally asked, launching himself over the couch, landing next to Robin. Artemis and M'gann were both on the floor. M'gann trying some type of braid on Artemis, who had reluctantly given in to M'gann's pleas to play with her hair.
"You know it," Robin said grinning, retrieving something out of his bag.
"You guys sound like you're doing a drug deal," Artemis snorted, before cringing as M'gann tugged particularly hard a piece of hair, apologies quickly tumbling out of the Martian girl's mouth.
"Hardy, Har, Har," Wally said, sticking his tongue out at her. She quickly returned the gesture. "This is better blondie. It's Agent A's banana bread!"
"Tada!" Robin said, revealing the banana bread wrapped in foil.
"Yes!" Wally said, reaching for it, but pouting when Robin kept it out of reach. Robin broke off a large piece, handing it to Wally who made quick work of it. Then he broke off three significantly smaller pieces for the three of them without super speed metabolisms. He handed one to Artemis and one to M'gann who made a third arm appear in order to grab it since her other two hands were occupied.
"This is pretty good, Boy Wonder," Artemis said.
"This is great Robin!" M'gann chirped.
"I'll be sure to let Agent A. know." He said, before taking a bite of his own piece.
"Okay, but for the last time, Agent A. is NOT my mom!" Robin said, throwing his hands up in frustration.
"Okay, Boy Blunder. So if Agent A. isn't your mom, then who is he?" Artemis asked.
"He's...He's..." Robin looked to Wally, who just shrugged, clearly at a loss. "He's my grandfather," He finally settled on.
"Seriously?" Artemis said.
"Yup. He's my grandfather."
"...Well, then tell your grandfather that if he has any more tips for perfecting cookies I'd love to hear them." M'gann finally said.
"He has all the secrets to cookies," Wally said. "Agent A. makes the best cookies in this world. And trust me, as someone who's been around the world, I would know. Speaking of, did he happen to send any of his world-famous cookies?" Wally asked, eagerly, seeing as he had already finished his seconds of the meal.
Robin flashed him a smirk. "You know it."
"Yes! Agent A. is the best!" Wally said as Robin handed him a cookie.
Sorry for the abrupt ending. I wasn't quite sure how to end it. Have been having a little writer's block lately and that made this a little hard to get out, but I finally did. I was worried this would be too short but it's 1300 words so it's fine.
Anyway, thanks for reading. Feel free to review or PM me. Love you guys!
