After the First Task, we had a party at the common room. Ron and Harry finally made up, and everyone is happy again. Well, everyone with the exception of Hermione Granger.

"I can't believe it! She's done it again!" She hissed as she flipped into the page of the Daily Prophet. From what I've heard, Hermione came over at the Champion's tent yesterday and had a good luck talk with Harry. Rita Skeeter, the newspaper editor/author, apparently caught the two hugging. And then Victor Krum defended Hermione.. something like that.

I sighed out of annoyance and took the newspaper away from Hermione, just as she was about to rip it into pieces out of anger. "Ignore that rubbish Hermione. You know it's not true, no one even reads this except for people like Rita herself. Gossipers."

"Still, she can't just write stuff about me!" I decided to let it go since I never win arguments from Hermione anyway. Just then, a first year named Nigel came up behind Ron, holding up a big box.

"It's a package for Ron Weasley?" He questioned, looking between me and Harry.

Ron took the package while rolling his eyes. Nigel didn't move, but kept on staring at me and Harry. Hermione gave me a confused look before raising an eyebrow at Ron. "Not now Nigel." He groaned, pushing Nigel away.

"What was that about?" I asked.

"I promised him Harry's autograph." He said simply. "And he has a crush on Misty, and he wanted me to introduce him." Okay? Well that's something new. . .

Ron opened the box, revealing an old, weird looking dress robe. "Mum sent me a dress?" Ron asked in disbelief.

Harry started laughing. "Well it does match your eyes! Is there a bonnet? Aha!" There was actually a matching bonnet along with the robes.

"Not now Harry." Ron groaned, clearly embarrassed. He went over to Ginny and said, "Ginny, these must be for you."

Ginny looked disgusted and she was trying not to laugh. "I'm not wearing that! It's ghastly."

"They're not for Ginny! It's for you! Dress robe!" Hermione exclaimed while laughing.

"Dress robes? For what?" Just then, McGonagall's voice echoed throughout the castle.

"All Gryffindor please go to the Transfiguration classroom right now."

"Do you think we're in trouble?" Hermione asked nervously, causing me to roll my eyes. "You worry too much Hermione." I said before following the group of Gryffindors in the Transfiguration classroom. As soon as we walked in, I noticed all tables are gone, and instead, a long bench on both sides of the room.

Professor McGonagall pointed at the seats. "I want all girls on the left, all boys on right." And so we split up. I sat on the left side, between Ginny and Hermione. Across was the boys, who was staring at us girls, which makes things a bit awkward. I barely realized Filch is also here, fixing up a big music player thing.

"Now, the Tri-Wizard Tournament has a very special tradition. The Yule Ball. It happens on Christmas evening. We, along with our guests, will gather up in the Great Hall. As representatives of the host school, I expect all of you to put your best food forward.. literally. Because the Yule Ball is a dance. Special dance."

Yuck. The other girls around me started giggling and whispering to each other, while I just stayed quiet. I'm not really fond of dancing. I can dance, but I just feel weird. It's so...girly? I mean with the dresses and shoes and makeup... Last time I went to a fancy dance like this is when my mum's friend's wedding.. we had to dance with someone. It's a long story.

"Silence please. The house of Godric Gryffindor has commanded the respect of the wizard world for nearly ten centuries. I will not have you, in the course of a single evening, ruin the name by behaving like a bunch of babbling, bumbling band of baboons." We have a tongue twister in there.
Across the room, I saw Fred and George laughing quietly at each other. I also saw Ron whispering to Harry, but apparently, not loud enough because McGonagall heard him.

"Mr. Weasley!"

Ron shot up from his seat. "Yes?" He gulped.

"Will you join me please?" Ron turned a bit red and walked over in the middle of the room with hesitate. "Good, now put your hands on my waist."

Ron's eyes widened and looked at her in disbelief. "Where?"

"My waist."

I was having a giggling fit while Ginny hid her face behind me so she could laugh without McGonagall noticing. "Hermione, watch our for McGonagall. I think she likes Ron." I joked while I was still giggling.

Hermione glared at me before laughing. "Now everyone up your feet!" McGonagall ordered.

All the girls except me stood up from their seats, while the boys stayed down and did nothing. Lazy gits. The only one that stood up is Neville. "Awe, see Neville's the only brave guy here. True Gryffindor!" I commented as Neville blushed and went to go ask Ginny to dance with him, which she gladly accepted.

So the rest of the boys shyly asked a girl. I was going to hide in the corner or something, because I really do not feel like dancing. But before I could way away, a hand went to my wrist. Seamus Finnigan.

"Hey Irish buddy, what's up?" I asked casually.

"Care to dance, Miss?" Seamus asked modestly while bowing.

I don't even want to dance, but since Seamus is a great guy, and he's Irish.. so why not. "Sure!" He took my hand and lead me to the middle of the room, and we started swinging back and forth slowly. This is awkward.

"So, who are you planning on asking to the Yule Ball?" I asked, starting a conversation.

He blushed for a bit and answered, "If I have the confidence, I would ask Lavender Brown." Oh yeah, he fancies her for quiet a long time now.

"Ah, well good luck." I said, looking around. Ron is still dancing with McGonagall. Harry is dancing with Hermione, Fred with Angelina Johnson, George with Katie Bell, Neville and Ginny.

After the dancing was over, we all went to the Great Hall for dinner. I was walking alone, since I Ginny and Hermione ran out and left me.. I don't know why. I'm walking on one of the corridors, until a hand went on my shoulder behind me. I turned around and saw a Hufflepuff guy that hangs out with Cedric. I don't know who he is though.

"Um, hello?"

"Hey, Misty.. you've heard about the Yule Ball right?" He asked nervously. Not even giving me the chance to nod, he continued. "Would you go to the ball with me?"

I shook my head right away and smiled apologetically. "Sorry, I'm already going with someone." I lied.

"Oh, well then.. have a good night." With that, he ran away with a red face. I feel really bad rejecting someone. I just didn't know him well enough. I entered the Great Hall, and sat down between Hermione and Ginny.

"Let me guess, you've already been asked to the ball." Hermione said, not even questioning it.

"Yes, how did you know?" I asked in disbelief. She's too smart.

Ginny answered, "It's not really a surprise. I mean, it's predictable that someone will ask you. A whole bunch of boys will be in line for you! I mean you're beautiful! Evenmore beautiful that those Beauxbaton Veela girs."

I smiled at the two of them. "Awe, but you two are beautiful as well."

"Who asked you?" Hermione smirked. "I bet at least one Durmstrang boy will ask."

"A Hufflepuff boy asked me but I said I was going with someone... because I feel bad. I don't even know him." I said, looking down at the table. For some reason, my eyes wandered off to the Slytherin table, and look at Draco.
He was talking to Pansy Parkinson. I don't know why, but I felt like my hopes are all gone and I feel bad.
Why would be be taking to Pansy anyway?
