Lola is now 6 months old now. The Locksley family has finally gotten into a routine . Lola was sleeping through the night if she was in Robin and Regina's room. They tried to get her to sleep in her room but she had different ideas.
The boys were adjusting well. Henry was 8 years old and in second grade. Roland was 4 and starting preschool. They worried how Roland would take starting pre school but he enjoyed it. He loved meeting new friends .
They were in the process of planning their anniversary party. Even though it was 6 months ago, with everything going on they wanted to celebrate it right and wait until the baby was older. Cora of course was controlling the planning of it all. She had different lists and samples on the dinning room table. She had made up with Regina and was working on continuing the good track they were on.
" Regina dear I need to finalize some of the final arrangements ." Cora says
Regina walks into the dining room and sits with her mother.
" Mother I really hope you didn't go to a lot of trouble."
" Well its your 10th anniversary you deserve to celebrate. "
Just then Lola cries and Regina turns to get her but Cora grabs her shoulder.
" She has to learn to soothe herself." Cora says reassuring her.
Regina doesn't care that was her baby crying . She went upstairs to to their room and picked up a crying Lola.
" Hello my sweet girl. Whats the matter hmmm?"
Lola looks at Regina and giggles .
" Theres mommy's happy girl."
Regina walks with Lola to the rocking chair. She sits on it holding her baby girl. Robin walks in and smiles at the sight.
" There's my favorite girls." Robin says walking toward them kissing Regina's head followed by Lola's.
" We should get ready for the party soon."
" Celebrating 10 years with milady."
" 10 years and three children later. Are you happy?"
" You have made me so happy." Robin says kissing Regina. " I have a gift for you. After the party we are going to go away for the weekend."
" What about the children?"
" Your mother and father offered to watch them."
" Lola hasn't been away from me since ." Regina says thinking about when Lola was kidnapped.
" It might do you both some good. She will be in good hands with your parents" Robin says trying to reassure Regina .
" She needs me Robin"
" I know she does, but you need time to yourself. Tell you what lets try it just for tonight and if she has trouble adjusting being away from you we will come right home. I want tou to feel comfortable."
" Its just hard leaving her for the first time."
" Remember how hard it was to let go of Roland on his first day of pre school?"
A couple of months ago Roland was enrolled in pre school. It was the first day and Roland was feeling nervous. Regina and Robin also felt nervous, they were worried how Roland would handle preschool. Robin was helping him get ready while Regina tended to the baby.
" Well us Locksley men are a fine bunch of handsome men." Robin says proudly looking at his son.
" Daddy are we ladies men?"
" Lets not let mommy hear you say that."
" We handsome daddy?"
" Oh my men are so handsome . My little man on his first day of school." Regina says proudly walking in to see her son.
" Shall we go to school? " Robin asks
Roland looks at his parents nervously shuffling his feet.
" Oh Roland its ok you'll make so many friends. You will have fun learning new things like shapes and colors. I have something for you" Regina says . She shows him a lion king backpack making Roland's eyes widen.
" Lions!" Roland says excitingly
" Yes Lions for my little man."
Roland takes his backpack and runs downstairs. Robin and Regina watch as he runs. Robin puts a hand on Regina's shoulder.
" He'll be ok you know" Robin says trying to reassure Regina.
" I know"
An hour later they walk Roland to school. It was a beautiful day and they could use fresh air. Lola was sleeping soundly in her stroller. Roland held Robin's hand as they walked toward the school . They walked inside and Roland looked around his classroom and looked back at his parents.
" Now we will be back in a few hours. You have a fun day son." Robin says
" Your going to have an amazing time. I'm going to miss you you know."
" I be ok I'm a big boy." Roland says to Regina
Regina gives him a hug. She looks at him one more time before she leaves the room. She has tears in her eyes watching Roland going to play toys with the other kids. She watches him and wonders where the time has gone. Robin walks behind her resting a hand on her shoulder and kissing her cheek.
" He's going to be ok Regina."
" I know its just he's so big now, our little boy." Regina did the hardest thing she could that day and that was to walk away.
"It wasn't that bad and he adjusted well."
" If I recall when we got home you cried until we picked him up."
" Thats a bit of an exaggeration don't you think ?"
Regina looked and Lola and knew what Robin said was right. Her children meant everything to her and one of the hardest things to do was to let go.
