The entire defense force, numerous Autobots and some Elite Guard had the Allspark chamber sealed off from everyone. Cascade was without her over armor in her smallest form looking at the giant cube before her. She suddenly giggled and Jolt looked at her in question. "It's weird I can hear it," she said. "It's not really saying anything though. It's closer to music than anything else. Are we ready?"

"Almost," said Ratchet from where he crouched down over the nearby equipment.

"You know," said Cascade. "Worst case scenario, there's an energy discharge from the joining and it blows out all your equipment."

"Stay positive youngling," said Wheeljack in reprimand. "That is not being positive."

Cascade merely shrugged and moved closer to the Allspark. She was nearly touching the Allspark when Jolt suddenly pulled her back. "Don't go so soon," he pleaded.

"Waiting won't change a thing," said Cascade looking back up at the cube.

"No, but even a few minutes matters to me," said Jolt taking her hand.

Cascade conceded and allowed him to lead her back over to Ratchet.

"Now youngling," said Ratchet. "Let's go over this again."

"It's fine Ratchet," said Cascade waving a hand dismissively. "I got it the first time and really it's not up to me."

"Fine," huffed Ratchet. "We're ready." He stood up, reached over and removed a chip that suddenly ejected from Cascade's head.

"This isn't goodbye," said Jolt releasing Cascade's hand.

"There never was time for goodbye even the first time," said Cascade activating the transformation back into a pillar. The whirring of parts sounded as a large mass unsubspaced and twisted into its original form. Ratchet already had Cascade's memory chip safely stored since they had removed it before she began the transformation. She had merely enough residual memory remaining to automatically call her transformation. Small pieces of extraneous metal that weren't part of the pillar fell clattering to the ground and suddenly Cascade's spark was exposed to the outside without a chamber. It flickered, but Jolt was there a second later enclosing it into a carrying chamber while Wheeljack supported him from behind. They quickly moved back from the pillar to let Ratchet scan Cascade's spark while the pillar finished its transformation back into its original form. Ultra Magnus and Optimus then hefted the pillar and inserted it into the empty slot. As the Allspark became whole again, an energy pulse swept through the chamber.

"How is she?" asked Optimus turning to Ratchet in worry.

"Stabilized," said Ratchet looking up from the emergency carrying chamber. "We were lucky. The energy discharge from the Allspark didn't disturb anything. I can't say how long it will stay that way. We need to get her spark to her new body soon."

When Cascade finally came online, she ran through her startup systems and took stock of her current body's capabilities. She was now taller than a mini-bot, but slightly shorter than the average bot. She no longer had wings or boosters and she wasn't quite sure how she felt about losing her flight capability once again. Her subspace was currently empty. The parts she had scavenged had previously been donated to the med bay team and Ironhide held any weapons that weren't apart of the pillar. There was no longer a subspace key or any other relics as they had been converted by the pillar and that made her very unhappy, but at least she still had some basic medical knowledge left in her memory. They hadn't left her completely defenseless as she was equipped with two cannons in her arms, but that was all in terms of weapons. Otherwise she was mostly a blank form like one of those worker bots back on Trisen. She didn't even have a visor this time and she missed it. Her optics came online to see Ratchet and Jolt standing over her. "Hello," she said emotionlessly.

"Cascade, what does your system check tell you?" asked Ratchet.

"It's saying everything is optimal," said Cascade. "There was no damage to my memory chip so memories are also intact."

"Welcome back," said Jolt gripping her arm and pulling her into a sitting position.

"Cascade, they put in a lot of work to save you," said Hyperfall from across the room.

"Of course," said Cascade immediately. "Apologies, thank you for your assistance in keeping me online."

"She's pretty mad," said Pivot to Hyperfall over the private comm. "She's gone all formal."

"Do you blame her?" replied Hyperfall. "Compared to the rest of us she has lost so much."

Cascade vented in frustration while Ratchet continued with his scans. Despite Jolt being obviously happy that she was online, all she could feel was irritation and regret. She couldn't even show her true feelings or she'd be seen as ungrateful so she had to repress them until they left her alone.

Hyperfall motioned for Jolt to come over to him. "She's pouting," said Hyperfall putting a hand on Jolt's shoulder. "You have to remember that she was only three years old when we met you all. She's also used to winning so in her mind this counts as a big loss. It will probably take her awhile to accept it, but she'll get over it eventually."

"Cascade, what's your weapon status?" asked Chaosbreaker speaking up.

"Two integrated cannons fully operational," said Cascade. "And basic combat defense."

"I feel for you bitlet, but it's better than nothing," said Chaosbreaker in sympathy.

"We wouldn't leave her defenseless," said Ratchet reprovingly.

"Our standards versus yours Ratchet are quite different," said Choasbreaker. "That was all I was saying."

"Don't make me throw you out of here," threatened Ratchet. "Cascade, what about your medical knowledge?"

"Basic medical knowledge remains intact, but procedures are limited," said Cascade. "I am officially removing myself from all medical duty. Hyperfall, you and your team will need a new medic."

"Understood," said Hyperfall. Knowing that her mood was only going to get worse, he signaled his team and they left the med bay.

Jolt was back by her side, but Cascade payed him no attention. She had to politely sit through about a dozen more well wishers before she was finally left alone. Every question that was asked like Prowl's question about her battle computer that she had to respond to with "complete loss" killed her a little more inside. She knew she had to be grateful to them for saving her life, but she didn't feel like it at all. Even when she had completely reconstructed Jolt's body, she had given him more advanced systems and better weapons. Right now she felt cheated after all the effort she put into the war. It was like they had suddenly forced her to become a civilian instead of offering her the choice of remaining a soldier. It was what they wanted not what she wanted. The worse thing was that this body was all they had given her and she no longer had the medical skills to enhance her systems herself. All she really wanted to do right now was mourn what she had been. Perhaps she had made a big mistake by not declaring herself an Autobot. Perhaps they would have given her more if that was the case.

As soon as Ratchet released her from the med bay, she was pulled into a meeting with Smokescreen. She told him that it would take time to adjust to the new body and gave generic answers to anything else he asked. She wasn't in the mood to be candid with him. Once she was free from him, she went out into Cybertron and disappeared from anyone that had known her.
