Arc League Championship — Chapter 38: The Four Dimensions: Yasuko and Yuto vs Yuya and Sora

DUEL:

Yuto Abiko (LP 3000) and Yasuko Yukihana (LP 4000)

VS

Sora Perse (LP 1300) and Yuya Sakaki (LP 4000)

With the intervention from both Yasuko and Yuya, it has become a Battle Royal.

"Battle Royal Mode. Joining." The female computer in a distorted voice announced, transforming the duel into a Battle Royal, giving the first turn to Yuya Sakaki

Turn: Yuya (5x cards)

"My turn!" Yuya draws a card from his deck.

"I Set the Pendulum Scale with my Scale 1 Stargazer Magician and Scale 8 Timegazer Magician!" Yuya Sets his Stargazer Magician (Scale 1) and Timegazer Magician (Scale 8) at the edge of his yellow blade, forming the rainbow "PENDULUM" word on it. At once, the time wizard and the star wizard all soar in the air with their respective pendulum scale number beneath them and a giant pendant gorming from the top.

"I Pendulum Summon!" Yuya declared. "Appear, red dragon with beautiful dichromatic eyes! Odd-Eyes Pendulum Dragon!" Yuya Pendulum Summons Odd-Eyes Pendulum Dragon (ATK 2500/DEF 2000). Odd-Eyes Pendulum appears on the field to let out an animalistic roar that booms in the air.

THUMP-THUMP!

Yuya gasped all of a sudden. His heart feels heavy like he was about to have a heart attack. His body gets very boiling hot even though it was cold in the night sky. The chest is tightening, restricting his breathing. Yuya pants, holding a hand to his chest as the burning sensation is roaring inside of him. "What the—? Why is my body feeling so hot," he pondered. "This never happened with Odd-Eyes before."

Unnoticed to Yasuko or anyone else in the duel, Yuto is feeling the same thing as Yuya. His breathing gets tighter, holding his chest. Sweat builds from his skin as the burning feeling still hurts both of them.

Dark Rebellion lets out a growl as Odd-Eyes Pendulum responses with a low snarl. The dragons are staring at each other. Odd-Eyes Pendulum roars very loud to cause Yasuko to cringe from the noise. In response to the call, Dark Rebellion makes a loud screech. Both dragons are boisterous to make Yasuko cover her ears. She wants to draw out the noise that these two dragons are making, but the roars and screeches are getting high pitched.

"What the—?! What the hell?" Yasuko thought. "Why is my head starting to hurt?" The louder the dragons' roar gets, the more hurting it is for her eardrums. It's like the audio feedback blaring into her hearing at max volume. She wants to make the noise stop, but how can she when the two dragons are roaring to resonate with each other.

Dark Rebellion and Odd-Eyes Pendulum continue to create reverberating roars for each other. The roars between two dragons grow intense to the point where a red aura from Odd-Eyes Pendulum and a blue aura from Dark Rebellion emits out of their bodies to be connecting their thoughts even though no one could see them.

Yasuko makes a cringe, holding her hands to her ears tighter to stop the noise from the dragons. As she holds her head, her keychain pendant starts to glow very brightly from the dragon's response.

Yuya pushes in the burning feeling aside and proceeds to make his move. "Let's battle!" he declared. "Odd-Eyes Pendulum Dragon, attack Dark Rebellion Xyz Dragon!" The roaring stops to relieve Yasuko of the painful hearing, but her head is rambling to straighten back.

Odd-Eyes Pendulum stops roaring and obeys to charge in and attack Dark Rebellion. It leaps up in the air and whips its tail over. Dark Rebellion flies up and counters the tail with its wing. Both dragons collide, and the two are now duking it out in the park. Odd-Eyes Pendulum and Dark Rebellion headbutt each other before pulling back to take another blow. Odd-Eyes Pendulum flips its tail over to strike, but dark Rebellion flies hard right to avoid it, but the red dragon makes a final charge to destroy it.

"I activate my trap card!" Yuto declared. "Phantom Knights' Fog Sword!" He flips up his Continuous Trap Card, Phantom Knights' Fog Sword. "This effect negates your attack, and as long as this card is face-up on the field, your Odd-Eyes Pendulum Dragon cannot attack!" The trap card shoots a wooden sword handle that has a skill on the front to emits a fog blade. As soon as both dragons are closing into each other, the fog sword slashes between Odd-Eyes Pendulum and Dark Rebellion to negate the attack and destruction. Dark Rebellion returns to Yuto's side while Odd-Eyes Pendulum lands behind Yuya.

Her eyes narrow at Yuto's trap card. "So, he was prepared?" Yasuko inquired, still dizzy of recovering herself after the dragon roar fiasco.

Sora was surprised to see that Yuto had a trap card. "What the—? Yuto had a trap card that can stop attacks?" After realizing that Yuto had a trap card but didn't use it when his scissor bear monster attack makes Sora glare hatefully at Yuto. "Since he had that Set card, he could've stopped my Frightfur Bear's attack," he hissed. "You sneak! You successfully Xyz Summon so that you can persuade me to attack, but you didn't use your remaining Overlay Unit during that attack!" Sora had another assumption. "You were holding back against me!" he accused. "How dare you making a fool out of me?!"

"Actually, that was on you," Yasuko objected. Sora flinches back as he turns to Yasuko. "Yuto knew exactly what you were plan on doing because you would fall for his bait to destroy his Xyz monster." Her eyes narrow at him. "Even you're too clueless to let yourself be underestimating your enemies."

Sora's teeth tightened, clenching together in anger. "How dare you…" he growled.

Yuto had nothing to say to Sora. Even Yasuko explaining to him would be his words of choice if he wanted to talk. He glances over to his doppelgänger.

"Timegazer Magician's pendulum effect activates!" Yuya exclaimed. "Once per turn, when a trap card targets a Pendulum monster, I can negate the activation and Set it!" The time wizard extends his time gauntlet and uses its mechanism to Set the card back on the field.

"All right!" Yuya cheered.

"I activate my Trap! Booby Trap E!" Yuto flips his second Continuous Trap Card, Booby Trap E. "This trap card gains the effect of one Set Continuous Trap Card on the field!" By revealing his first trap card, the second one gains the effect of Phantom Knights' Fog Sword and negates the effect of Odd-Eyes Pendulum again.

Yuya is surprised. "It gains the effect of the trap card that Timegazer's pendulum effect negated?" he inquired.

"Yes," Yuto confirmed. "And because of Phantom Knights' Fog Sword's effect, your attack is negated."

"And as long as the trap card is not Phantom Knights' Fog Blade, that means Odd-Eyes cannot attack or use its effect," Yasuko explained.

Yuya cannot do anything at his turn. After all the work he had to do to stop Yuto, he's got his Odd-Eyes Pendulum. "I set a card face-down and end my turn," he concluded. Yuya Sets a card.

Turn: Yasuko (5x cards)

Yasuko narrows her eyes. "My turn!" She draws a card from her deck.

"I Set the Pendulum Scale with my Scale 3 Magical Abductor and Scale 8 Odd-Eyes Mirage Dragon!" Yasuko declared. And so, she sets the Magical Abductor (Scale 3) and Odd-Eyes Mirage Dragon (Scale 8) to her Pendulum Zones, forming the rainbow 'Pendulum' word on her blue blade.

The abductor with obsidian black hair in wizard wardrobes that has teal flame outlines holding a scepter staff that has a red orb containing a spell counter, and the green dragon with bone armor and green scales that has red and green eyes appear inside the pillars of light with their respective Pendulum Scale numbers below them.

"Now, I activate the spell, Spell Power Grasp!" Yasuko activates the Spell Card: Spell Power Grasp. "This card lets me target one card on my field, and it gains a Spell Counter, and then I can add one Spell Power Grasp from my deck to my hand!" She throws her hand over to the abductor. "Magical Abductor's Pendulum effect activates! Each time a Spell activates, it gains a Spell Counter!" Yasuko adds herself a second copy of her Spell Power Grasp, and then the abductor gains two Spell Counters due to its effect and pendulum ability.

(Magical Abductor: Spell Counter 0 2)

"Now, I activate Spell Power Mastery!" Yasuko activates the Spell Card: Spell Power Mastery. "I add one Endymion card from my deck to my hand and then, for every Spell Power Grasp or Mastery that I control or in the graveyard, I can place as many Spell Counters as I can on every card that I control!" A card pops out to let Yasuko add Endymion, the Mighty Master of Magic. "I add Endymion, the Mighty Master of Magic!" she called. "And then both my Magical Abductor and Odd-Eyes Mirage Dragon gains two Spell Counters!"

Due to the effect of her spell, the abductor's Pendulum effect activates, which gives it an extra spell counter for both of them.

(Odd-Eyes Mirage Dragon: Spell Counter 0 2)

(Magical Abductor: Spell Counter 2 5)

"No way!" Yuya gasped. "Two of them!"

Yasuko gestures to the abductor. "I activate Magical Abductor's Pendulum effect!" she called. "I can remove three Spell Counters to add one Pendulum monster from my deck to my hand!" By removing three of the spell counters from the abductor, Yasuko chooses one Pendulum monster that she can summon: Odd-Eyes Phantom Dragon.

(Magical Abductor: Spell Counter 5 2)

"I add Odd-Eyes Phantom Dragon from my deck to my hand!" Yasuko called. "Now, with these two monsters, I can Pendulum Summon any monsters between levels 4 and 7 simultaneously!" She throws her hand into the air. "I Pendulum Summon!" she announced. "Appear! Mythical Beast Jackal King, Endymion, the Mighty Master of Magic, and Odd-Eyes Phantom Dragon!" Yasuko Pendulum Summons Mythical Beast Jacal King (ATK 2400/DEF 1400), Endymion, the Mighty Master of Magic (ATK 2800/DEF 1700) and Odd-Eyes Phantom Dragon (ATK 2500/DEF 2000) in Attack Position.

The first monster was a spellcaster sorcerer with long white hair underneath his black crown mask while wearing an obsidian drape which has a ring on his back decorated with spell counters holding a giant gold scepter that has an orb; the second monster is the jackal king spirit that is the size of a car with blue armor all over its body: and the third monster is Odd-Eyes Phantom.

THUMP-THUMP!

Yuya and Yuto suddenly gasped. From the moment Odd-Eyes Phantom appears on the central park, the two of them felt their heart skipped a beat, but deeper than the last time when they first encounter each other.

The red and green eyes of Odd-Eyes Pendulum and the bright gold eyes of Dark Rebellion blazes brightly, and the two dragons turn to Odd-Eyes Phantom. Dark Rebellion growls very dangerously, looking ready to destroy Odd-Eyes Phantom even though Yasuko and Yuto are teaming up. The two dragons commit another resonating roar to be loud enough that it's making Yasuko's ears hurt twice as much as before.

"Damn it! Not again!" Yasuko yelled, covering her ears.

As Odd-Eyes Pendulum and Dark Rebellion roar with strenuous antagonism, Odd-Eyes Phantom makes a roar to match their might. This time, it wasn't just Yasuko who is hurting from hearing the dragons' roar; Sora, Yuya, and Yuto can feel their ears being pierced by something sharp that it's probably going to make them bleed.

"Wha-what the hell's going on!" Sora cried, holding his hands close to seal his ears in an attempt to stop the noise.

Yuto can't even take the roaring any longer and covers his ears.

Yuya grunts, holding his palms closer to his eardrums. Nothing is stopping the three dragons from making the loudest noise in the city. It can be practically be heard from anywhere. The ground was shaking, causing the pebbles to rattle furiously. The leaves from the trees and bushes sway at the invisible soundwaves of the dragon's roar. Yasuko wanted to make the roaring, and the sharp pain stops by making her move.

"B-battle!" Yasuko ordered. "Endymion, attack Sora directly! Odd-Eyes Phantom Dragon, attack Odd-Eyes Pendulum Dragon!" The mighty sorcerer and Odd-Eyes Phantom on Yasuko's side of the field obeys and makes a jump. Dark Rebellion and Odd-Eyes Pendulum stop roaring to relieve everyone from the painful noise.

While the mighty sorcerer goes after Sora, Odd-Eyes Phantom is confronting its twin. Odd-Eyes Pendulum accepts and goes for the attack to smack its twin its red tail, but Odd-Eyes Phantom manages to catch it by biting its tail and throwing it over in the air.

While the two dragons fight amongst themselves, the mighty sorcerer closes in to finish Sora off once and for all.

"I activate my Trap Card! Designer Frightfur!" Sora exclaimed as he flips up his Trap Card, Designer Frightfur. "This card lets me Special Summon Edge Imp Tomahawk from my graveyard and treat it as a 'Frightfur' monster until the end of the turn!" Sora uses his trap card to Special Summon Edge Imp Tomahawk (ATK 1800/DEF 800). The demon monster made of tomahawks into one body appears on the field.

The mighty sorcerer comes in closer to the monster and blasts it away with its purple beam that disintegrated his monster, dealing damage to Sora.

(Sora: LP 1300 300)

Odd-Eyes Phantom and Odd-Eyes Pendulum clash against one after another, sliding across the field and hitting each other with all of their strength. The dragons have reached a stalemate, so the monsters charge up their two signature beams. After significant time to recharge, the two dragons unleash powerful red and spiraling blue laser beams at each other, impacting against one—

KA-BOOOM!

Both dragons are instantly destroyed, creating a big crater at the blast of where the two beams collided.

"Since Odd-Eyes is a Pendulum monster, they both go to our Extra Deck!" Yuya pointed out.

"Same here," said Yasuko. They both take their dragons and inserts them in their Extra Deck zones for safekeeping.

"And since Yasuko destroyed your Odd-Eyes Pendulum Dragon, my Booby Trap E goes to the graveyard," Yuto added as his face-up trap card disperses in thin air.

"Jackal King, attack Sora directly!" The jackal king glows brightly in response to make one big energy charging up and blows a blue flamethrower to finish Sora out of the duel.

"I activate my trap! Break Away!" Yuya flips up his Trap Card, Break Away. "By discarding one Spell Card, your Battle Phase ends, and all of your monster's effects are negated until the end of the turn!" The jackal king fires a blue flamethrower at Sora, but the trap card creates a force field to shield the boy from any impacts.

"Damn it, Yuya!" Yasuko snapped. "This is getting out of hand!" She gestures to the spot where their dragons were battling each other. "Look!"

Yuya turned his gaze over and was shocked that there was an enormous crater caused by Odd-Eyes Pendulum and Odd-Eyes Phantom. "We keep this up, and we'll be in front of the newspapers talking about how we destroy the park!" she retorted. "This has to stop right now! I end my turn!"

Turn: Sora (0x card)

Yuya can't believe that it only took his dragon and Yasuko's to create destruction to central park. He didn't think that his attacks would cause real destruction.

"End your turn?" Sora shouted. "You're completely useless, Yasuko!" He then turns around and pushes Yuya. "If you can't do anything, you get out of here, all of you!" He looks between Yasuko and Yuya.

Yuya was looking at Sora. "Sora?" he asked.

Sora is glaring at Yuto. "He's my prey! Don't ever interfere!" he shouted at Yuya. "And you—" he points at Yasuko, "—Get the hell out of my way! I'm taking down Yuto alone, you just butt out of this!"

Yasuko narrows her eyes. "Like fat chance, dickhead!" she exclaimed, maddening Sora even more.

"What was that?!" Sora shouted. "You have no idea what you're doing!"

Yasuko blinks once before she said, "It's clear to me that I know what I'm doing." She looks up at Yuto from the stage. "This whole thing is more than just a duel school, or a personal grudge is there?" she asked him. "If he's telling you are his prey, then is it true that this squirt's the enemy that you've been seeking and that he and his so-called teammates hunting you and your friends?"

Yuto didn't respond, but clearly by the gaze of his grey eyes tells Yasuko otherwise. "So, it is true then?" She turns back to Sora. "Everything you and Shun said…is it all true?"

Yuya is more confused than ever. "What's all true?" he asked. "What does it all mean?"

Yasuko's narrowed eyes never faltered. "That Sora's a part of psychotic hunters," she stated. "And that they're hunting people who are from the hometown that Shun spoke of."

"What?" Yuya gasped. "But Zuzu said that Shun and Yuto came to this city to look for Ruri because Sora's teammates kidnapped her!"

Yuto and Yasuko react in surprise. Though Yuto realized it from the start, Yasuko is now confused as Yuya. "Kidnapped? What do you mean Ruri was kidnapped?" she asked. "What did Zuzu told you that I wasn't aware of?"

"Zuzu said that Yuto told her," Yuya revealed.

Yasuko turns to the person behind her. "Yuto?" she asked. "Did you know that Ruri was kidnapped?"

Yuto didn't respond to her, making Yasuko turn her body around to face Yuto. "What the hell's going on!" she demanded. "You guys act like this is war! Just split it!"

Sora scoffs. "Ha! I tell you guys why he won't talk," he laughed. "Because if he answers, then he'll have to admit how weak they are." Sora takes out a big lollipop from out of his pocket and chomps it with one bite like he did back at his duel with Shun. "He's nothing but a loser refugee," he answered. "He fled when my team took it over from the Xyz Dimension!" He drops his half-eaten lollipop and stomps on it.

Yasuko is sure that Sora's talking crazy, but she can't believe what she is hearing. The thought of Sora talking about Yuto being a resident in a dimension startles Yuya as well.

"Xyz Dimension?" Yuya and Yasuko chorused inquiringly.

"Be quiet! You haven't conquered us yet!" Yuto argued. "Shun and I didn't flee! We came to this world because we have to fight against the Fusion Dimension!"

Yasuko can't be sure what to believe. "Xyz Dimension? Fusion Dimension? What is that?" she asked.

"Allow me to enlighten you this," said Sora as he points at Yuto. "Shun and Yuto are not from this world!" he proclaimed. "He and Shun are from another world! From the Xyz Dimension!"

"Where the hell is this going at?" Yasuko asked.

"My teammates bravely fought and defeated the Xyz Dimension," Sora explained. "If I lose, I tarnish the glory of the work that my teammates have earned! I won't be able to forgive myself since I was the best in my Academia's advanced class, and because of that, I was given a personal mission!"

Yasuko can't comprehend what Sora was talking about. The girl finds their claims to be bogus and that there was no way that there could be another dimension. "Impossible!" she rebuked.

Sora ignores her comment and proceeds to make his move. "My turn! Draw!" Sora draws a card from his deck. "From my hand, I activate the—"

Beep-Beep-Beep!

Sora paused right in his move when he notices that his duel disk has gone haywire. He checks it, only to realize what is happening. The blue blade on the duel disk starts to glow red. "What the—?" he gasped, watching what is happening to him. "No! Stop! I don't want to go home yet!"

Everyone was watching the boy's duel disk going haywire. "What the hell's happening to him?" Yasuko asked.

"Wait! I can't return to Academia yet! Not until I beat that Xyz user!" Sora pleaded, trying to remove his duel disk, but it won't come off. "Not yet! I can't go back just yet!" His plead turns into a scream before he glows digital blue and scattered into thousands of blue light particles, disappearing from sight.

The three of them stood at the center of the stage area, looking at the spot where Sora used to be. Not even Yasuko can believe it. Her eyes are wide, froze on the spot. "What…what the…" she uttered, almost too speechless to even think what she just saw. "What the frig was that?"

Yuya stands at the lower ground, also in shock. He saw Sora disappear before his eyes. "Sora? Sora!"

At the same time, Yasuko and Yuya turn to Yuto. "What happened to him?" Yuya demanded.

"Sora returned to the Fusion Dimension, his home," Yuto answered.

"His home?" Yuya questioned.

Yuto nodded. "Correct," he said. "Just like me, he's originally from another world, or in this case, a parallel earth."

"A parallel earth?" Yasuko inquired before she rebuked the idea. "What kind of parallel earth is that supposed to be? A multiverse or something? That's all just a theory!"

"Yeah!" Yuya agreed. "You're speaking nonsense! There are no other Earths out there! There's just this one! So quit messing around already and tell me the truth!" he demanded, angrier this time. "And whatever you do, don't say that you already have!"

Regardless, Yuto just told them, "It's the truth."

"Ah, come on!" Yuya whined. "I said don't say that!" He raises his fist in front of him. "Just give back Sora! He's hurt from his duel with Shun Obsidian!"

Yuto keeps his face calm as he responded with the same proficiency. "Don't worry about that, Academia has doctors."

Yasuko blinks in confusion. "Academia?" she inquired. "What? Is that a duel school or something?"

Yuto nodded. "Correct," he affirmed. In pure anger, his fists clench together. "Academia is a duel school, but it's a duel school in the Fusion Dimension where they train their students to become duel warriors."

Yasuko and Yuya are now baffled by a duel school that teaches people to fight against the enemy.

"What the hell?" Yasuko gasped.

"Duel warriors?" Yuya breathed.

Yasuko and Yuya glances at each other, considered the new information that is in their heads. None of them knew what was coming and didn't like the term 'warrior' because it mostly involves fighting. They didn't speak, unsure if whatever Yuto is saying is all true.

Turn: Yuto (1x card)

"Now that Sora Perse is gone, it's my turn now," he said. "But I have no reason to continue with the duel." He plays his Quick-Play Spell Card, Emergency Provision. "I activate the Spell Card Emergency Provisions. This card lets me send any number of Spell and Trap cards that are on my field to regain 1000 life points." Yuto sends his remaining trap card that is on the field to regain life points.

(Yuto: LP 3000 4000)

"I end my turn," he concluded.

Yuya is by far so confused about what Yuto just did in his last turn. "You got rid of your trap card? Why would you do that?" he questioned. "You could've attacked me with Dark Rebellion."

Yasuko lets out a breath that she's been holding, seemingly agreeing with Yuto. Moreover, she is annoyed that Sora just went up and vanish in the air before she can interrogate the boy. Not to mention the headache that's starting to form in her head.

"Damn," Yasuko cursed. "Now, my only way to find answers is with this guy." She turns to Yuya. "Yuya, he's got a point. There's no reason to continue this duel," she stated. "I'm done."

Yasuko turns her duel disk over and pulls out her deck to withdraw from the duel to leave it all to Yuto and Yuya. Her monsters dissipate in thin air.

The boy is having mixed feelings over Yasuko's withdrawal from the duel. "What? You're done?" Yuya questioned, looking surprised.

Yasuko stares at him. "Yuya, I told you, he's a pacifist in nature," she stated. "He wishes not to hurt anyone, but if you're going to make him do it, then he will."

Yuya is sure that Yasuko's crazy to even withdraw from a duel. She never usually backs down from any challenge or sorts, but seeing how Yasuko is serious than before said otherwise. "Just…please hear him out," she said. "And then, we can leave."

Yuya knows what's at stake, but he has questions to ask his doppelgänger. "Alright fine," he obliged.

And so, Yuya pulls out his deck to let all of his monsters disperses in the air.

In return, Yuto does the same thing and takes his deck out of his duel disk to let Dark Rebellion disappear.

DUEL: No Results

Yasuko starts to take steps forward to be at Yuya's side. She cannot trust Yuto just yet without listening to his story. She only met him once but doesn't know anything about Yuto or if he's a psychopath like Sora.

"Nice, you listened for once," said Yasuko.

"Like I have a choice," Yuya replied. "But, more importantly." His head glances over to face Yuto. "There's something I want to ask him."

Yasuko turns halfway to face Yuto as well. "Same here."

They don't know if Yuto is a friend or hostile, so the best course they can do is be understandable with him to find their answers.

Under the clear night sky where the stars dazzled above Yasuko and Yuya, the two duelists stand at the ground, looking up to Yuto Abiko who is at the stage. The cool look on Yuto makes them believe that he poses no real threat to them, but they have to be cautious, especially for Yasuko, because she can't be sure if she should trust him.

Yuya's eyes looks through his peripherals. "Yasuko," he said. "Who is this guy? And why does he look like me." He sprints to Yasuko before she can answer. "And don't say he's my twin brother or a clone."

Yasuko turns her head away. "Then I guess he's you from an alternate universe then," she assumed.

Yuya's shoulder sagged in annoyance. "You seriously got this idea from a comic book?"

Yasuko turns her head. "I can think of many things," she commented.

"Yuto," Yuya announced first to Yuto. "Now that Sora is gone, aren't you relieved?" he continued to ask him a few questions and comments. "In your duel against Sora, you could've won if you used two Overlay Units and tried to end the duel by just destroying Sora's monster, but you only used one."

Yuya thinks back of how many times Yasuko told him that Yuto is a pacifist. If what she said about him is true, then he can confirm his point. Yuto has the chance to use his monster's effect to deal bigger damage, but he only used one. Seeing how Yuto dueled in there confirms Yasuko's claim. "So, Yasuko is right then," Yuya admitted. "You don't want to actually fight, don't you?"

Yuto nodded. "In truth, yes," he confessed. "But the only reason was because Academia were the invaders."

Now it's Yasuko's turn to ask Yuto. "Academia invaded the whole Xyz Dimension you spoke of?" she questioned. "What is going on here?"

"I know that it is hard for the both of you to believe me, but it's true," Yuto confirmed all the questions that Yuya and Yasuko are plagued with. "They overran the Xyz Dimension and took my teammates and my friend's sister."

Yasuko didn't know what she is feeling right now. Sad. Empathy. Guilt. There are a lot of things that she doesn't know about Yuto or Shun. All she knows is Yuto and Shun are fighters as they are trying to fight against the Fusion enemy that she doesn't know about.

"And let me guess," Yasuko suggested. "The people of Fusion Dimension attacked you."

Yuto nodded.

Yasuko turns to Yuya. "If Shun said all those things back at the LDS stadium, then what he said was probably true," she explained quietly to Yuya before facing back to Yuto.

"Your asshole friend, Shun Obsidian, said that they turned your homeland into a battlefield," Yasuko pointed out. "How'd you all managed to survive?"

Yuto focuses on Yasuko. "With Dueling," he replied. "Like us, the Fusions use dueling as their tools for war."

Yasuko and Yuya are taken back by the answer. "War with dueling?" Yuya repeated.

Yuto didn't say anything; he just stares at the two of them.

Yasuko isn't still too sure about the whole dimension thing that Yuto and Sora there talking about. Even though it may seem bogus to her, she wonders why. "Then tell us this," said Yasuko. "What is the Fusion Dimension and Xyz Dimension?" she asked. "You said that Xyz Dimension is your home, is that why you are not familiar with any other Extra Deck summons?"

"That's what Academia calls it," Yuto replied. "Similar to how they use Fusion Summon, all the duelists in our world use Xyz Summon."

And that's when Yasuko realized something. The way how Shun describes the day of his duel that violently destroyed the Action Field must have jogged the bad memories of the place. The three of them didn't speak again, letting the wind currents blow their hairs. She wonders what else that Yuto knows.

"This city of yours," Yasuko asked. "What was the name?"

Yuto blinks once. "Heartland City," he revealed, surprising Yuya and Yasuko.

"Heartland City?" Yuya inquired. He turned to Yasuko and asked, "Isn't that the Action Field where Shun and Sora dueled in?"

Yasuko nodded. "Now, I'm getting the bigger picture," she responded. "If Shun came from this Heartland City, then it must be why he was so pissed in dueling at Neo Heartland City."

"No wonder why Shun and Sora were acting so crazy," Yuya reminisced. "They must've met at this city that is in the Xyz Dimension."

Yasuko narrows her eyes suspiciously. "Not possible," she protested. "I think Shun and Sora met for the first time, and they didn't even know about them until they duel."

Yasuko isn't sure now of what to believe right now. First, Sora and Shun were dueling viciously at the duel, the second was the fact that Sora and Yuto are not of the world, and the third was the disappearance of Sora.

It was getting too much for her to process it all in. "So then, why would you be here if not at the Fusion Dimension?" Yasuko asked.

Yuto narrows his eyes. "We were at a disadvantage," he said. "We don't know much about how they came to our world. Their technologies are too complex for us to reverse engineer. We were only able to get two devices to travel. One for me…"

"And one for Shun Obsidian," Yasuko assumed.

"Correct," Yuto confirmed. "We came here to look for Ruri."

The silence between the three of them lasted for a few moments. Yasuko can see some kind of resemblance from Yuto to Yuya. Both of them are alike, but Yuya's more dimwitted than Yuto as he is more collective.

"Yuto," Yasuko addressed to him. "Your homeland. This Heartland City of yours. What was it like?"

Yuya is surprised to see how Yasuko is going further to understand Yuto. Because of Yuto's pacifist nature, maybe it's the reason why Yasuko's starting to trust him. He, too, wants to hear Yuto's story and listens to the boy.

Yuto blinks to have a sad expression. "It was paradise," he answered blissfully. "Heartland City is like any other city you can imagine. After the attack, dueling was the important thing that mattered the most. Everything about Dueling is all about survival, but it was not supposed to be a tool of war and conflicts."

To Yasuko and Yuya's surprise, Yuto speaks with passion as if he, too, loves dueling.

"Dueling is the most exciting thing that everyone loves about. When people duel, everyone smiles and enjoy themselves to have the best time of their life," Yuto continued. "That is how it was until the day Academia came and attacked. Before the day of the invasion, Heartland City was overflowing with smiles." The more Yuya hears about Yuto's story, the better he understands him. Yuya felt that there is something connected to Yuto. Smiles is the one thing he loves about dueling, and Yuto explains it as if he loves smiles just like him.

For the both he and Yasuko, they can imagine just how Heartland City could be based on the Neo Heartland City Field spell and from the descriptions of Yuto and Shun's stories.

The sound of adults and children were playing with each other in a duel. The roar of the monsters battling. The laughter. All of the things that they can imagine how much fun it is for them to enjoy dueling.

Yasuko can see how much Yuto and Shun enjoy dueling, but the attack made them as hard as war veterans. "And I take you were a duelist too?"

Yuto nodded. "I was," he replied.

"How'd they came?"

"A dimension ripped through the boundaries," Yuto explained. "It was just a typical day. Everyone was dueling. Normal life is the start. But then…the sky grew dark with thunder and clouds. From there, the Fusion invaders came by cutting through their boundaries. In the middle of the day, legions of Fusion duel warriors broke out from bolts of lightning and tear through our city, attacking everyone. They turn our city into a land of fire." As Yuto continues to talk more about the invasion, his eyes narrow to where it becomes a scowl, his fists tighten to where it turns white. "All of us had nowhere else to go. They destroyed our culture, our land, and our history. All of it. Gone in a one single day."

Yasuko can imagine how the scene would unfold. She takes in Yuto's description of how the Fusion attack the city. Probably with meteors, laser robots, and flying monsters to attack and defend. Duel Monsters battling each other. Wrecked buildings. A post-apocalyptic scenario.

Yuya can see how angry Yasuko is right away as Yuto explained more of the history during the invasion. "They turn our people into cards one after another," he said. "All of my friends. Everyone. The only ones that remain are us, the Resistance."

Her scowl never left her eyes. "All of them? Even children?" Yasuko asked, hissing in her end.

"Every single one," Yuto admitted.

Her anger starts to rise. Yasuko is feeling the same amount of rage that Shun must be harboring. Her hands clenched to a fist, resenting the people of Fusion even more than ever. "Son of a bitch," she growled.

Surely her knuckles are turning white, feeling more fire and fury than ever. She cannot believe what Yuto is telling her. Her teeth grit so hard that it's hurting her jaws. Her scowl twitches uncontrollably. Now she understands what Shun must be feeling in his duel against Sora, who is a Fusion summoner. "Those bastards," Yasuko snarled. "Those friggin' bastards…"

Yuya is seeing how much hate that Yasuko must be feeling. Unlike her reaction, he is appalled by hearing Yuto's story. He wanted to feel angry too, but he cannot. The thought of using dueling for tools of war and conflicts is making him have horrific emotions regarding the situation.

"I…I don't want to believe that," Yuya proclaimed. "I don't want to believe that people would use dueling to invade another world."

Yuto narrows his eyes at Yuya. "You think it doesn't concern you because it's far happening already?" he queried. "What you can't see isn't everything. Many things are happening right now that you cannot see."

"Like what?" Yasuko takes a step forward. "Like death?"

Yuto turns to Yasuko. "Not death, but close," he answered. "I've seen people turned cards in front of my eyes."

Yasuko's eyes widened, shocked of something worse than death. "What? Like how is turning into cards even worse than death?" she asked, getting weary of her question.

"Worse than you can ever imagine," Yuto stated.

The anger inside of Yasuko left instantly. It doesn't explain to her something else about what Yuto talked about. "You said that there are the Fusion and Xyz Dimension, but then…" And then, she realized something else about the conspiracy. "Wait, so there's a dimension where you can Synchro Summon?"

Yuto nodded. "Correct," he confirmed.

Yasuko turns back to Yuya, who is having the same expression. Both of them are getting the fact straight now.

"So, wait, there's more than just two worlds?" Yuya asked.

"Yes," Yuto replied.

Yuya can't help but look at Yasuko for support. She, too, is thinking of the same thing. They already learned that there are more than just two worlds.

"Fusion, Synchro, and Xyz Dimension," Yasuko listed. "Three different dimensions with three different Extra Deck summoning methods."

Yuya then realizes something else. If there is a Fusion, Synchro, and Xyz Dimension, then he wonders what dimension he and everyone else are in since there has to be more than just one world. "So, what is this world then?" he asked.

After much consideration, Yasuko can only say one word. "Standard." Yuya turns to Yasuko in shock. "Everything in this…world," she said with uncertainty. "…Is pretty much standard. Standard summoning like Tribute or Ritual. They are considered Standard because of how we use the Main Deck. And on top of it all, there is only a few people who can use the Extra Deck summons." Her scowl reverts back to being narrowed, thinking hard of what Yuto is telling them about. "How many worlds are there?" she asked.

"So far, just four," Yuto verified. "There are four worlds in total."

"Really?" Yasuko responded. "I thought it would be of a multiverse or something."

Yuya is irritated. "You have got to stop reading those comic books; it's racking your brain with too many nonsense and stuff like this," he said.

"Hey, we have our own earth, so it might work," Yasuko replied before turning back to the main topic. "But let me guess this straight, there are only four dimensions." Yasuko is trying to clear up everything to make it simpler for her and Yuya to understand. "All four of them are all based on a summoning method, right? The three dimensions are Fusion, Synchro, and Xyz, which is based on the Extra Deck, but Standard is only the Main Deck. How's that possible?" Even though she is getting the answers from Yuto, more questions are now popping in her head. Yasuko needs to know more.

"For some reason, I don't know," Yuto answered truthfully. "I don't know why there are four dimensions either. It's a mystery of how and why the worlds are separated based on the summoning method."

Yasuko hits a dead-end right after Yuto finishes explaining the whole situation. There are still questions left unsolved. She only discovered that there is more than just the world that she is in. "Fusion, Synchro, Xyz, and Standard," she listed.

"And Fusion is invading the Xyz Dimension," Yuya added. His face grimaces at the thought of dueling being used for war. "That's horrible. Why did it happen?"

Yasuko wonders what started the Fusion Dimension to go to war with the Xyz Dimension, where the residents in that world are living their lives, not wanting anything to do with fighting and war.

"What reason do they have to just declare war on some dimensions crap?" Yasuko inquired. "Those people just want to live their lives; they don't want anything to do with war."

"Yeah," Yuya agreed. "I don't know much about this whole dimensions and stuff like that, but there is one thing that I do know." He takes a step forward to be in front of Yasuko, declaring his own words. "Dueling isn't a tool for war!"

Yuto was surprised. He never met anyone who is just like him. He didn't know that Yuya has the same interest and the same ambition about dueling. He waits and listens to Yuya.

"Using duels to invade? That's totally wrong!" Yuya rebuked. "The dueling that I believe in is Entertainment, and the purpose of it is to make everyone smile and be happy!"

Yasuko isn't sure if that is the case for dueling. She didn't want to admit it, but she somewhat agrees with Yuya in her head. She had a feeling that its what dueling is supposed to be about; to make entertainment and a good show for everyone to smile. Well, in Yasuko's case, she doesn't have a purpose for dueling, but thinking of how the Fusion Dimension is using them to attack random innocent people is a red mark in her books.

"There, I still something that I want to do out of dueling," said Yuya, speaking to Yuto. "I remember something clearly." He grabs his pendant around his neck and holds it tightly. "My father united everyone through dueling!" Yuya thinks back and remembers the times that he watches his father, Yusho Sakaki, duel in the open. "My father honed Action Duels so that I would have the power to capture everyone's attention and make them smile!"

Yasuko stays quiet to listen to Yuya's ambitions. "I also feel like I'm getting closer in doing that," said Yuya. "That's what my Entertainment Dueling is supposed to be." His grip on his pendant tightens. "I don't want dueling to be used to hurt other people."

Yasuko was looking at Yuya with interest. She can see how there is a comparison between Yuto and Yuya. She saw how Yuya shares the same philosophy of dueling as Yuto. "Yuya," she uttered.

Suddenly, a very bright green light illuminates from the right side. Everyone turns to the source. Somewhere in the middle of central park, a green light shines out of nowhere.

CRASH!

A loud crashing noise screeches from the other side, knocking at least two of the light poles down.

The girl covers her eyes to shield from the light. "What the hell is that?" she called. The light stops glowing as the new figure arrives on the scene. They cannot tell who it is because of the thick steam coming from the vehicle.

Yuya, Yuto, and Yasuko spot someone who was on top of what appears to be a white motorcycle vehicle. The inner wheels were glowing streamline yellow, and it has some kind of hornet motif glass window at the front. Several gold and white elements with black stripes decorate the main body of the vehicle. "Ouch," the person on the motorcycle grunted. "Damn it, why here now of all times?" The person adjusts his neck before straightening himself up. "Sheesh!"

Neither of them could see who his face was since he wears a white helmet with a blue top. The person removes his helmet and faces toward the three of them.

Though it surprises Yuya and Yuto, it shocks Yasuko the most. She turned to Yuya and said, "Yuya, you never told me that you are a triplet."
