Since this involved the Red Court, I informed Warden Captain Luccio. She sent Morgan to help us in the night raid. Also he would be showing me the ropes about Wardening. We couldn't wait till morning, since dear Rudolph, traitorous piece of…
Vessel, calm down.
Now the frigging spirit of combat tells me to cool down. What has the world come to?

Warden Morgan offered me a sword, befitting my office.

I showed him my shaking hands.
-"Thanks but bladed weaponry and the immortal spirit of combat...bad juju."

He was undeterred. The Warden's sword was covered and he approached me with a sandalwood case. Engraved on the top it displayed the JinJang in gold and silver. He offered me the case, while he uncovered the scars on his neck.
-"Dresden, please accept this token of gratitude. It was handcrafted by my cousin Walter. He is a British weaponsmith, and he takes pride in outfitting those who battle monsters."

I took the case, bowing low. This stuff is heavy.
-"No payment was asked but this is freely given. It is received with honest gratitude and will be treasured."

I opened the heavy case and froze.

Ron approached my rigid form and peered into the case. He gave a low whistle.
-"Warden Morgan, please tell me the name of this beauty."

Inside the case, lad the most gigantic pistol I have ever seen. To call it Small Arms was a crime on itself. The surface was silvered, resting on a sea of green velvet. The bullets were large as my thumbs. Inside the case, there were two magazines. One matte black, the other bone white.

The old warden smiled, an honest to God smile.
"This is a .454 Casull, thirteen pounds unloaded and carries six on the magazine. It can kill vampires with a single shot. He eagerly expects to know if you are satisfied with the results."

It would be beyond rude to return such a gift.
-"I don't know how to shoot."

Karrin peered into the case and she licked her lips.
-"I will teach you how to use your gun."
