A/N: I'm so sorry for taking so long in updating. Thanks for reading!
Hilary screamed as she was blasted against the wall harshly. Black Dranzer kept its gaze on her, yet she wouldn't allow the evil bitbeast to defeat her that easily. Her body was soaked in sweat as the heat blurred her vision.
"Ty!" She called out to her unconscious friend hoping that he would wake up. She glanced at Dragoon. "Come on, Dragoon. You need to help me protect your master," she whispered imploringly, yet the bitbeast didn't appear. It had disappeared the moment that his master, no friend, passed out.
"You are pathetic, Hilary," she winced as she detested the way that he said her name. "You will die here with that pathetic boy."
She gasped when he once again got in front of her. She held her neck defensively, but he made no move to grasp it. Instead, he threw her harshly against the wall. To her horror, the wall wasn't a wall after all. Her eyes widened as she realized that he had thrown her against the glass window, which cracked at the impact.
Hilary screamed as it gave away and she fell. Time seemed to have slowed down, as she looked at the bitbeast in shock. Just as suddenly, her vision was blocked by black. An arm wrapped around her as she felt her descent halted.
A strong masculine cologne scent reached her nose as she looked up in shock. She almost cried in relief when she saw a familiar figure holding her up. His fingers bled as he held the edge of the window tightly. Shards of glass were impaled in his hand, yet he held on.
"K-Kai!"
"Don't let go," he groaned as his arm shook.
"Hilary!" Brooklyn cried out as he looked down at Kai's arm. He shook as he tried pulling Kai up, but the weight was too much for him. Hiro's raging battle against Black Dranzer became a background noise for him as his sole focus was to save Hilary and Kai. "Don't let her go, Kai."
Kai didn't even have the strength to glare at him for his stupid request. Of course he wouldn't let go. He didn't care about his own life, what mattered was protecting Hilary.
Hilary heard the anxious calls of their friends as they witnessed the events in horror. She trembled as she feared to even breathe. Kai's blood had dripped down his arm now.
Brooklyn realized that he didn't have the strength to lift them up, so he closed his eyes and opened them to reveal ominous green eyes. A powerful vortex appeared in the sky.
Kai opened his mouth, but shut it once it started pulling him and Hilary up. She wrapped her arms tightly around Kai's waist as they were both lifted into the air.
Brooklyn looked at them in deep concentration, hoping that it worked. The powerful pull sent them flying, and he winced when they flew up higher than what he intended. He closed the vortex and anxiously watched as Hilary and Kai once again plunged down.
Fortunately, Kai wasn't one to give in easily. He held on to the top of the building and using his now free hands lifted him and Hilary to the roof. The brunette maintained her strong grip on Kai's waist that he started choking at the force.
"I'm sorry," she gasped as she pulled away. "Oh, Kai!" She embraced him but then pulled back as she watched his horribly injured hand. It bled heavily, yet he didn't complain.
He had done this for her.
Her eyes softened as she looked up to find him looking at her tenderly. She wanted to cry at the raw emotions on his eyes. He loved her. This she knew, but it became more real as she realized that he had been willing to sacrifice his life for her.
"Kai, thank you," she whispered softly. Instead of responding, he turned away.
"Let's go, we need to go help Brooklyn and Hiro. We also need to check on Tyson."
Remembering that they were battling the powerful bitbeast, Hilary nodded, trying to hide her injuries from him. She placed a hand on her back and flinched when her hand returned covered in blood. Fortunately, Kai hadn't seemed to notice. Heck, she hadn't noticed earlier either. She had been running on adrenaline.
However, the adrenaline wore off and she whimpered softly at the pain. Despite her body protesting, she ran after Kai, but she couldn't help but glance at his hand. It was bleeding heavily, but it was evident that he wasn't going to stop to treat his injury either.
Hiro frowned as he gave a glance to his little brother. If something happened to Tyson, he would never forgive himself. He was partially responsible for releasing Black Dranzer, after all.
He closed his eyes as the guilt became too much to bear. His brother's bleeding head wouldn't leave his mind.
"Poor poor Tyson. He won't resist much longer," Black Dranzer cackled. Brooklyn's eyes narrowed as Zeus growled at the dark bitbeast. "You'll all die."
"You killed your host," Hiro said as he eyed the phoenix. "You won't survive long without a host, you disgusting parasite."
"I have a host," Black Dranzer responded as it glanced at the cracked glass that had traces of blood. More specifically, Kai's blood.
Understanding what he meant, Hiro smirked. "Do you really think you have the strength to control Kai? You must be stupider than I thought," Hiro taunted.
"Kai and I are the same," he hissed back as his attacks became more aggressive. Zeus intercepted a particularly harsh attack against Metal Driger. "Once I have his little girlfriend, he's a goner."
At hearing this, Brooklyn flinched. "You stay away from her!"
"Ah, the wench does work fast," he cackled. "First Kai and now you. I'm impressed. Who's next? Tala?" Brooklyn glared as his eyes became green once again.
"Brooklyn stop!" Hiro placed a hand on his shoulder seriously. "It was bad enough that you pulled that stunt earlier. One wrong move and-"
"And? Come now, Hiro, it was just now getting interesting. What did you and your groupies do?" Black Dranzer asked as his eyes turned into slits. "No matter, we will reign supreme."
Black Dranzer let out an ear wrenching screech as the building suddenly erupted in noise. The building shook as bitbeasts took off flying from inside the building.
Kenny's eyes widened as he saw the amount of bitbeasts that took to the skies like hundreds of bees swarming a hive. They covered the sky as they shrieked.
They hadn't expected this many bitbeasts. The readings hadn't picked up on all of them. Ray gasped as he looked at them in disbelief. His hand instinctively grabbed onto Mariah's. The pinkette looked at him in disbelief. "Ray"
"I love you," he confessed as he looked at her in the eyes. She blushed at his admission and kissed him. They both knew that the chances of surviving were slim to none. Had he not been shocked enough, Lee would have said something. However, he was paralyzed in fear and shock like everyone else was.
Surprisingly, it was Oliver that released his Beyblade first. He called out to Unicolyon and his bitbeast went head first into the attack. Everyone watched in shock as the short blader attacked without fear. "Enrique, this is for you" he whispered as Unicolyon pushed through aggressively.
He took out bitbeast after bitbeast.
Unfortunately, he was greatly outnumbered.
"What are you useless idiots doing!? Fight them!" Boris roared at his bladers. They all snapped out of their trance as they all released their bitbeasts. It was an incredible sight as bitbeasts clashed with bitbeasts.
Max followed suit as he released Draciel. "Come on guys, we can do this! Draciel!"
"Driger!"
"Hopper!"
"Galux!"
Every blader called out their respective bitbeasts as they tore through the malignant bitbeasts, who were not holding back. Spencer looked down at Tala's unconscious form. "Wake up, Tala, we need you!"
Hilary and Kai stopped in their running as they took in the chaos that was taking place outside. They exchanged glances before continuing their trek towards Black Dranzer, which was their greatest threat.
Brooklyn ran with Tyson on his back. He held onto both Dragoon and Shiro as he turned back to look at Hiro. Tyson's older brother had ordered him to leave. When he had protested, Hiro had looked at him imploringly. "Please don't let them take the one person that is most precious to me." At those words, Brooklyn couldn't argue.
He knew Hiro would have done the same had their positions been reversed.
Adjusting his hold on Tyson, Brooklyn looked back sadly as Hiro used his body as a shield, yet he didn't waver. Tyson groaned as his eyes opened lightly. His body was still hot from Black Dranzer's previous attack, and his vision was blurry. His drooping eyes took in his brother's back. "Hiro," he whispered, half conscious before letting his body once again drop on Brooklyn's shoulder.
Brooklyn opened the door to the stairway and nearly ran into Kai and Hilary. He let out a sigh of relief once he took in their appearances. They looked mostly unharmed, but now was not the time to check them over.
"We need to leave," he hissed.
"What about-"
"Hilary, no questions," Brooklyn implored as the brunette's eyes widened in understanding. She had vaguely heard Hiro's voice when she had been holding on for her life.
"No, we need to help Hiro." She shook her head.
"Hilary, keep running," he begged her, but she once again shook her head.
"Get out of the way Brooklyn!"
"Kai, please," Brooklyn now begged the bluenette. Time was of essence, he didn't know how long Hiro could hold Black Dranzer off. He knew Kai understood when he glanced at Hilary's bleeding form. After a slight hesitation, Kai nodded.
"What are you-" Hilary shrieked as Kai picked her up and lifted her to his shoulders. She struggled against him as he held her waist in an iron grip. He then ran down the stairs with Brooklyn following hot on his heels.
She pounded her tiny fists on his back, yet Kai didn't stop. Tears fell from her eyes as they went further and further away from the battle. Her eyes turned to the unconscious Tyson, who had a distressed expression. Like her, he was held tightly by his waist. He groaned lightly as he was close to waking up.
"Please Kai! Please!" Hilary cried as he pushed the door open for him and Brooklyn.
They were outside.
However, he still didn't release her. He and Brooklyn ran several feet away.
"Kai!" The bluenette looked up as he ran towards Bryan.
"Bryan! Hold her," Kai said as he released Hilary. Confused, Bryan obeyed. He held the fiery brunette as she attempted to run back to the building. "Hilary! Stop being ridiculous," he hissed.
Bryan grabbed onto Hilary's wrists as she used all her strength to pull away. "It's no use," Bryan told her as he took in her tearful expression. "What are-"
Brooklyn's eyes softened as he placed Tyson down on the ground. He then pulled out Zeus and launched. He nodded to Kai, who followed suit. Both bitbeasts appeared simultaneously as Tyson's eyes opened slowly.
His eyes slowly adjusted to the building as he groaned. "Tyson!"
"What-"
His question was cut off as his eyes widened after witnessing a scene that he would never forget.
Hiro flew against the wall as Black Dranzer's eyes met his. Blood dripped down Hiro's face as he prevented the bitbeast from leaving. "Why won't you just quit!" the dark bitbeast hissed.
"Because I won't let you hurt my little brother," Hiro chocked as the blood trailed down the corner of his mouth.
"How sweet," Black Dranzer hissed. "But you're too late, I will ensure that you get a front row ticket to Tyson's demise." The loud screech of Dranzer and Zeus drew their attention. Hiro smiled lightly as he understood Brooklyn and Kai's message.
They had made it out.
Hiro's eyes narrowed. "You will not touch my little brother anymore! This ends here!" He pulled out a remote. Black Dranzer eyed it boredly, not understanding the implications.
"I hope you can forgive me for everything I've done wrong, Tyson. Your big brother is a major screw up, and I'm sorry."
"What are you babbling on about?" Black Dranzer hissed.
"Let your brother make amends with the only good thing he can do for you." Hiro's eyes closed as he swiftly pressed the button. "I love you."
Metal Driger let out a high pitched scream before it happened.
"It's okay, buddy," Hiro whispered to his faithful companion.
Then the whole building exploded.
Black Dranzer squawked as it was not fast enough to avoid it.
Tyson's screams were cloaked by the loud explosion. He hadn't seen his brother, but he had been able to hear and see Metal Driger. He quickly connected the dots as he realized that his brother blew himself up. "No!"
Kai held onto Tyson as the bluenette flailed around wildly. In his desperation, he was willing to run towards the building.
"Let me go!" He cried as Kai clenched his eyes shut. This was something he wat not good at, but for the boy that he considered his brother, he would comfort him. "My brother! Please, not again. No, Kai, no!"
Kai wrapped his arms around Tyson and embraced him. Too numb to be shocked at receiving an embrace from the aloof blader, Tyson screamed out curses as he struggled against Kai. The bluenette didn't release him as Tyson grew too tired to hold himself upright.
"Kai! Hiro! No! NO!" Kai still held him tightly as Tyson's screams tore through his heart. "Why, Hiro?"
Hilary felt a tear fall as she cried out in horror. Bryan released her as he was taken over by the shock. "Hiro!" Brooklyn's arms wrapped around her as he tried shielding her eyes from the destruction. Even if he knew it was too late.
She had seen everything.
