Chapter 47: Declan's Revenge Part 2
Declan smirked as he saw Yuya's look of fear before he made his next move.
"Scared, Yuya? You should be, because I activate the spell card Dark Contract with the Mant! Now, all of my D/D monsters gain 1000 attack points during the battle phase (2000-3000) (2400-3400) (2500-3500) (2600-3600) (3000-4000). Genghis, take out his Drummerilla!"
"I'll use his special ability to give him 600 attack points (1600-2200)!"
"It's nowhere near close enough!"
Sure enough, the fire tore through Yuya's Drummerilla like a knife through butter, obliterating him. The wave continued, destroying a building before stopping.
Yuya: 3200
"Gust King, take out his Rune Eyes!"
A huge gale left Alexander's sword, ripping Yuya's dragon apart and further destroying the city as concrete cracked and buildings crumbled.
Yuya: 2700
"This is the end for you, Yuya. Doom King Armaggedon, end this!"
Yuya looked up to see massive wave of energy heading his way. He spotted an action card and moved to get it...
Only to be hit by the wave, creating a huge explosion that covered his half of the arena in smoke.
"Yuya!"
Declan smirked, pushing his glasses back into place.
"That's what happens when you bite off more than you can chew, Yuya."
"This duel isn't over until its over!"
Everyone gasped as the smoke cleared and Yuya emerged, battered but still alive. Yuya struggled to climb out of the massive crater the attack had left him in.
"What? But that attack should've ended you."
"Should've, but thanks to the action card Great Escape your attack was cancelled and your battle phase is over."
Despite the turn of events, Declan smiled.
"Well played, Yuya. Of course, I should expect no less from the son of Yusho Sakaki. I end my turn with two cards face down."
Wearily, Yuya drew his next card.
"I draw! And I activate my own Cards of Sanctity, giving us both some extra resources. Next, I activate the spell card Pendulum Shuffle, returning all cards in the Pendulum Zone to their owner's hands."
Yuya's pendulum monsters returned to his hand.
"But that's alright, because I replace them with and Xiangke Magician Xiangsheng Magician! Next, I Pendulum summon Odd Eyes Pendulum Dragon, Performapal Bot Eyes Lizard, and Performapal Pendulum Sorcerer! Now, I use Bot Eyes and Pendulum Sorcerer to build the overlay network to Xyz Summon Dark Rebellion Xyz Dragon!"
The two dragons roared in symphony, causing their opponents to stumble back.
"Now its time for the finale! First, I use Xiangke Magician to make Dark Rebellion's rank equal to Odd Eyes's level (4-7)! Next, Xiangsheng Magician allows me to treat Dark Rebellion as a level 7 monster for an Xyz Summon!"
"What?"
"It can't be!"
"With these two monsters, I build the overlay network once more! Rise forth, Odd Eyes Raging Dragon!"
Yuya's armored dragon emerged, its twisted roar shaking the very earth.
"And by detaching one overlay unit, I can destroy all of the cards on your field since he was summoned using an Xyz monster!"
"What?"
Lightnig struck from the sky, obliterating both Declan's field and the road, leaving nothing but a scorched crater.
"And for every card he destroyed, he gains 200 attack points, giving him 1400 extra attack points (3000-4400)."
Yuya's dragon roared as it grew stronger.
"Time for you to pay, Declan! Odd Eyes Raging Dragon, end this duel now!"
Declan tried to outrun the attack, but the blast caught up with and consumed him easily, toppling every building on the block until only the tall tower in the middle remained standing.
"Way to go, Yuya!"
"You showed him who's boss!"
"Mr. President!"
"Celebrating so soon?"
Everyone gasped to see a scorched but not defeated Declan standing amongst a sea of rubble. In front of him was the Action Card Miracle.
Declan: 1300
"Its a good thing I found this lying in the rubble. Guess this duel is still on."
Yuya snarled and clenched his fists, but did not move.
"I guess so. Its your move."
"Thank you. I draw."
Declan drew his card, shaking off the lightning from his Dark Contract as if it were nothing.
Declan: 300
Once looking over his hand, Declan smirked, his victory guaranteed.
"Are you ready, Yuya? I activate the spell card Dark Contract with the Swamp King. Do you remember what this card does?"
"Of course I do! It allows you to fusion summon a fiend type fusion monster using cards in your hand or on your field."
"You're half right. True, it has the usual fusion effect. But what you don't know is that if I'm summoning a D/D/D monster, I can banish materials from my graveyard as well."
"What?"
"You should be honored, you'll be the first to be subject to my new monsters. I banish D/D/D Flame King Genghis and D/D/D Gust King Alexander to Fusion Summon D/D/D Super Doom King Purple Armageddon (3500/3000)!"
Thunder and lightning crackled in the sky above as Declan's monster descended. It was massive, towering even over the Heartland Tower. A massive pair of wings unwrapped themselves, swooping up massive gusts of wind that put out the few remaining fires. Its tail was really a dragon, slithering around and glaring at Yuya. Compared to this monster, Odd Eyes Raging Dragon was nothing more than a mosquito.
"Ah man, that is not good!"
"No, and its about to get a lot worse. My Super Doom King can destroy one of your monsters once per turn."
"What?"
With a massive swoop, the dragon ate Yuya's dragon whole, swallowing it in one gulp.
"And when he does that, you lose life points equal to half of its original attack."
"What?"
The dragon once again opened its mouth, only this time to unleash a massive wave of energy, striking Yuya and sending him flying.
Yuya: 1200
"Purple Armaggedon, end this duel."
Yuya barely had enough time to recover before the Doom King wrenched the tower from its foundations and threw it at him. This time Yuya managed to dodge, allowing the last building left to crumble to pieces with Yuya's life points.
Yuya: 0000
Declan wins!
Declan approached Yuya and helped him to his feet as their surroundings disappeared.
"Don't you see now? If we don't take the offensive and strike soon, Duel Academy will return and do the exact same thing as what happened in Heartland City to us. You are good, Yuya, but you aren't enough to protect the world by yourself, and neither am I. We need to work together. Will you join me?"
Realizing Declan was right, Yuya nodded. Once they had left the duel court, Declan gathered the Lancers to hold a meeting.
"Go home and spend time with your families, for you may not see them for a long time. Shay and Sora, you're welcome to stay here at Leo Corp for the time being. Make sure you're well prepared for the long journey ahead because in one week's time we leave on our mission. Dismissed."
