Chapter-25: The Hooded Monk
A/N: This wouldn't have been possible without my friends, Banshee69 and IpsitaC77 apu. I love you guys.
Prompt: Purple
Word Limit: 120
The bouquet of purple flowers makes him wonder who might've sent them. He lets his fingers gently graze the velvety, smooth petals before leaning down and taking a sniff.
He doesn't detect a scent. What's the point of being pretty if it doesn't have a scent to match? He wonders.
That's when he notices the small white card tucked into the bouquet.
It reads, "For traitors like you, the Monkshood will make your heart stop."
The card falls from his trembling fingers as he feels the poison from the treacherous flowers coursing through his body. He tries to scream, but no sound comes.
James wakes up with a start, his heart beating like the wings of a hummingbird at the vivid nightmare.
