Just a quick note to say thank you for all the reviews so far. Also, the times are a little off but I'm just going with the flow and making it work haha. Also, this chapter will start before the conversation between Matilda and Lucas then flips back to the right time (however the amount of time the first takes if it was real should hopefully cover the gap in time). Anyway, here's the next chapter.

(8:20am) 1 hour and 25 minutes previously…

In the Middle of the Bush

After eventually getting Xavier back to the top of the ridge. Colby and Bianca had just finished checking his injuries over.

While securing the bandage on Xavier's ankle, Colby said: "It's not too tight?"

Xavier shakes his head in response.

"You need to keep the leg up." Ryan says from where he was stood beside Belle and Kyle.

"Yeah, I know." Colby threw back getting sick of Ryan telling him stuff he already knows "Rocco, can you get him something please."

Rocco gets up and grabs the first aid kit to get some painkillers for his friend.

"Guys, I'm so sorry." Xavier suddenly says to them all.

"Hey, don't be silly. You've got nothing to apologise for just relax." Bianca replies.

From where she was sat on a rock, Belle asks: "Is there anything I can do to help?"

"I think you've done enough Belle." Colby tells her "Don't you?"

"Take it easy. It's not going to help anyone is it?" Kyle says sticking up for his girlfriend.

"If she had kept her greedy hands out of Bianca's bag in the first place none of this would have happened."

"Don't just blame Belle for this."

"It was her fault that Xavier went over the ridge."

"How can it all be her fault when Bianca was arguing with her and pulling the bag too?" argued Kyle.

"You gotta admit the kid has point." Ryan laughs.

"Stop calling me kid!" Kyle yells at Ryan "I'm not a kid and I'm not your kid that's for sure!"

Deciding to say something before Ryan can, Colby said: "Are you serious right now? Because last time I checked Belle took the bag in the first place. Also, Kyle you need to stay out of this as it has nothing to do with you."

"It has everything to do with me considering it's my girlfriend your attacking right now." Kyle pointed then turned to Ryan "I'm sorry for having ago as I can tell your on Belle's side here."

"That's ok and I'm sorry for calling you kid. However, I am not sorry Colby for agreeing with what Kyle has just said." Ryan yelled at him the cop.

"Why doesn't that surprise me?" Colby stated "Look just stay out of stuff that doesn't concern you got it?"

Belle has had enough at this point and decides to be the bigger person and say: "I'm sorry, I was in a lot of pain."

"You're in pain?" Colby said, "How do you think Xavier feels?"

"It's not my fault. I didn't mean…" Belle starts to reply but Colby cuts her off.

"Yes, it is Belle. It is absolutely your fault. If I have to listen to your pathetic whinging for a second…"

"Hey now wait a second." Ryan says then points at Bianca "What about her she was part of this mess."

Bianca doesn't say anything as she already feels guilty about what has happened to her sister's boyfriend.

Ignoring Ryan's comment about Bianca, Colby asks: "How do you think we are going to get out of here now?"

"Yeah well, you doing your nut isn't going to help." Ryan informs him.

"OK GUYS!" Rocco suddenly shouts knowing this arguing isn't helping anything or anyone. However, this goes ignored by the pair.

"I don't see you coming up with any better ideas!"

"Listen, all I'm trying to do is get us out of here in one piece…"

"Oh, do you reckon you could do it without killing any of us in the process?" Colby spat at him.

"That's it." Ryan said before charging at Colby.

Bianca watches the two of them and not wanting anyone else to get hurt says: "Come on that's enough!"

"Don't push me Colby." Ryan says as he hits Colby's hand away.

"Guys, come on!" Bianca says again "Colby, just leave it!"

Colby just glares at the pilot before moving away and walking back over to Xavier.

(10:17am) 32 minutes later…

Summer Bay – Tony and Rachel's House – Living Room/Kitchen

"Woah, I guess I didn't realise Charlie could get a fruit salad so wrong." Lucas laughed as he grabbed the bowls to clean up.

Matilda laughs as well then says: "No it's not that, Charlie did a great job it's just I guess I'm not really that hungry."

Lucas just smiles and continues to clean up.

"Leave that I'll do it."

"Nope, nice try but you've got to go over the notes I've brought you home from school last Friday."

"Ugh, thanks for that." Matilda sighs as she sits back down.

"Well, the novel for English is pretty good actually. I really enjoyed it." Lucas informs her as he too sits back down.

"You would."

"So, have you given any more thought as to when you might be coming back to school?"

"Not really."

"Well everyone has been asking about you."

"What have they been saying?" Matilda asks with a worried look on her face.

"Nothing. They've just been worried."

"So, what have you told them?"

"That you were in the fire and you got pretty badly hurt." Lucas says then notice the look on her face "Mattie, people care that's all."

Matilda doesn't say anything in reply, so Lucas continues: "Look, I'll keep bringing you your schoolwork, so you don't fall behind, ok?"

"I might em, have a shower and get dressed. Em, then can we go over the notes later?" Matilda asks him as she stands up.

"Yeah, I'll be here." Lucas replies.

With that Matilda leaves the room and Lucas is left alone.

Standing up he goes to finish cleaning up the breakfast stuff but there's a knock at the door and he turns around, shocked to see his ex-girlfriend stood in the doorway.

"Hey, what are you doing here?" Lucas demands to know not understanding why she would just turn up out of the blue.

"I really need to talk to you." Lee says to him.

"Well, now is not really a good time."

"It can't wait." Lee says with tears running down her face "I need to talk to you right now. Please."

Lucas doesn't reply he just stands there staring at her.

Meanwhile…

In the Middle of the Bush

After the argument no one was really talking to each other to keep the peace.

Looking off into the distance Ryan suddenly breaks the silence: "We really need to get moving guys. How's the ankle looking?"

"Not good." Colby manages to say calmly "Still can't put any pressure on it."

"Yeah well, I'm sorry but I don't think we have much choice." Ryan said, "I want to try and make the plan you originally had this morning before it gets too hot."

"Surely letting Xavier rest here for a few hours isn't going to make a difference." Rocco suggested as he looks at the pain written across his friend's face.

"Well, considering we have very little food or water and no idea about how long we are going to have to last out here. I would say that every hour makes a difference, wouldn't you?"

"Guys, it's fine. Really I can walk." Xavier butts into the conversation not wanting another argument to happen.

"How? Your ankle is the size of a melon." Kyle points out to him.

"Kyle's right, you'll only make it worse." Bianca informs him remembering when April was little and made an injury worse.

"It's like Ryan said, we don't have choice." Xavier tells them all as he tries to get up "Alright, now please come on."

"Woah woah. Lean on me." Rocco says not wanting Xavier to do anymore damage.

With the help of Rocco, Xavier finally manages to stand up the best he can.

"This is crazy." Kyle says to no one in particular as he watches his friends.

Grabbing his own bag and Xavier's, Colby checks: "Are you sure you want to keep going?"

"Yep! Let's go, come on." Xavier replies.

With the help of Rocco, the teen hops away with the others all following.
