The Mystery Duelist

I don't own Digimon or Yu-Gi-Oh

"Mr Muto, good morning." Solomon Muto looked up from the ground outside his store where he was sweeping to see Tea jogging over to him.

"Ah Tea, good to see you. Yugi's upstairs getting ready. I'll call him down for you, would you like something to drink?" he asked kindly only for the brunette to look up at the upper floor window.

"No thanks we're already late." She replied.

"I see, Yugi, Tea's here!" Solomon called loudly as his grandson poked his head out the window.

"I'll be right there grandpa!" he shouted back before walking to his desk and picking up the Millennium Puzzle which now had a chain instead of the piece of cord he used to hold it around his neck. "This chain should keep the Puzzle safe; it seems like everyone we run into lately wants to get their hands on it." He said putting the Puzzle around his neck and looking at his reflection in the mirror as Yami appeared behind him.

"And we're going to need it now more than ever." He said.

"We are, what do you mean by that?" Yugi asked the spirit.

"The Millennium Puzzle connects us Yugi, and I sense fate has more in store for us." The spirit replied.

"Well we're in this together no matter what." Yugi told him as he picked up his schoolbag.

"Good. I wish I knew more, but our future is still unclear to me." Yami said as Yugi walked out of his room.

"Well I'll help you figure it out." He promised. He then walked out of the show and saw Tea tapping her foot while looking at him.

"About time." She said with a smile and he sheepishly scratched his head.

"Sorry Tea." He apologised.

"We're going to be late for the big soccer game, you know how much Daisuke's been training for this ever since we got back from Duelist Kingdom." Tea reminded him, grabbing his wrist. "Now come on let's go." She said dragging him along as the boy yelped and waved back to Solomon.

"Bye grandpa, see ya later!" He called and his grandfather chuckled and waved back.

"If the game finishes early come back and help me sweep." He replied with a smile before going back to his sweeping humming to himself.

"So, what took you so long to come down from your room?" Tea asked Yugi as the two walked towards their school.

"I was speaking with Yami, he seems worried."

"About what?" Tea asked looking down at her friend as he held his puzzle in his hands.

"About the future I think, ever since we defeated Pegasus he's been talking about fate. Like he still has something left to do. When you think about it, he doesn't know that much about himself, who he is, where he's from or why he's here." He answered as the Puzzle shone lightly in the sun as they walked past a fortune teller stand where the one sitting at the table wore a large dark hooded cloak covering most of their body and face.

"Futures told, fates unfold, step up boy and I'll reveal the secrets of your future." The fortune teller spoke, making Yugi look at him and walk over to the table while Tea kept walking before she realised her friend had stopped and turned around to see him talking to the figure.

"Can you really see into the future?" Yugi asked the man.

"Yes." He said with a soft chuckle as Tea ran over to her friend.

"Yugi what're you doing?" She asked him.

"Tea, maybe this fortune teller can help me find out what Yami was talking about." He answered with a hopeful innocent smile and Tea sighed to herself before she nodded.

"Ok but we don't have long." She reminded him as the figure looked at Yugi before glancing down at his Millennium Puzzle.

"In order to tell your future, I need to hold a personal item of yours. Your necklace should do nicely." He said, making Yugi take a step back in surprise.

"I'm sorry I can't let you do that." Yugi apologised and the fortune teller frowned.

"Then I can't tell you your future." He informed the boy who glanced down at his Millennium Puzzle and then up at Tea before he sighed.

"Alright…but only for a moment." He said taking his Millennium Puzzle off and handing it to the fortune teller who smirked.

"Ah thank you young man." He said.

"So, what do you see in my future?" Yugi asked and the figure looked into his crystal orb in front of him.

"I see in your future…that this Millennium Item now belongs…to me!" the figure shouted with an added echo as he kicked the table towards Yugi and Tea knocking them both over as he took off down the alleyway behind him with a laugh.

"My Millennium Puzzle!" Yugi exclaimed before he got to his feet and took off running down the alley after the thief. "I'll go after him, you try to cut him off around the corner!" he shouted back to Tea who nodded.

"You got it Yugi!" She shouted before running off down the street.

"You won't get away with this, you creep!" he shouted. "I can't believe I handed him my Millennium Puzzle!" he thought before he saw a piece of paper with an arrow stuck to the wall and he stopped running and saw more arrows on the walls leading him. "This must be a trap, but what choice do I have. I can't lose the spirit of the puzzle."

Meanwhile with Tea she was running as fast as she could while looking for any sign of the thief. "There's no sign of that guy anywhere." She panted as she ran past Bakura who also was on his way to school.

"Hey Tea, what's the rush?" he asked, making the girl spin around and stop running for a moment.

"Oh Bakura, some guy just stole Yugi's Millennium Puzzle!" She told him.

"No, where are they?" Bakura asked her.

"In the alley, we split up to try to catch him." Tea explained, pointing behind Bakura.

'Well don't let me stop you, keep looking and I'll find some help." He told her and she ran off quickly once she was far enough away, Bakura's hair covered his eyes and he dropped his bag. "No one shall be allowed to hold the Millennium Puzzle except for me, I want its power. And I'll track it down using my Millennium Ring!" he unbuttoned his jacket and held out his Millennium Ring. "Show me the way to the Millennium Puzzle, follow its mystical energies." He told his Millennium Item and it glowed and began to lead him in the direction of the Millennium Puzzle.

Soon he arrived at the alleyway where the fortune teller had taken off with Yugi's puzzle and he smirked. "They're close, so very close. I can't let anyone keep me from achieving my goal." He thought before he saw the first arrow and ripped it off before sticking it back on pointing another direction and he smirked.

Meanwhile, Yugi had finally reached the end of the path of arrows and stood outside an old run-down warehouse. "That thief is leading me like a rat through a maze, but why does he want me to follow him." He thought before slowly pushing open the door to the warehouse and he walked inside.

"I know you're in here!" he shouted and was met by laughter echoing all around him.

"Congratulations little Yugi, you found me. Or should I say I found you and your Millennium Puzzle!" the thief said as a light turned on shining down on the Millennium Puzzle which had a metal spike going through one of the links of the chain and he saw it stuck to something.

"Give it back to me." Yugi demanded.

"I'm afraid it's not going to be that simple, if you want your puzzle back, you'll have to fight me for it." The thief informed him as the lights in the warehouse came on revealing a duelling arena and the thief was already standing on one platform looking down at Yugi.

"Who are you? And what do you want with my Millennium Puzzle?" Yugi questioned the figure with a frown.

"I desire the power that your Millennium Puzzle possesses, but according to the rules of its ancient magic I have to win it from you in a duel." The figure informed him. "As for who I am, let's just say I am the one who will control your destiny as I have controlled others and that I am familiar with the power of a Millennium Item, indeed I understand the hidden mysteries more than you will ever know. Like your Millennium Puzzle, there are ancient secrets buried within it that both you and the spirit of the puzzle itself do not know, that's why I will add it to my collection."

"I won't duel you for my Millennium Puzzle, it's already mine." Yugi told the thief.

"But it's currently in my possession." The thief said and Yugi frowned.

"Fine, I accept your challenge." He replied and the thief smirked.

"Of course you do." He said.

"If I have to duel, I'll need Yami's help. Maybe I can still connect with him." Yugi thought looking up at his Puzzle.

"I can…barely hear you Yugi, our bond is weak. It's hard to maintain contact, I'm afraid I won't be much help this duel, you'll have to face him alone." Yami informed him regretfully.

"Alone but I've never duelled without you before. And if I lose, I'll lose you forever." Yugi thought.

"You can win this, just trust yourself and your deck and you'll find your way. Be very careful Yugi, I sense a great evil." Yami told him before the connection faded and Yugi stepped up to his side of the duel arena as the arena activated and their life-points were set at 2000.

"I have seen your fate little Yugi and this duel will be your last." The thief said with a cruel smirk as both set their decks down on the duel arena and drew their first set of cards.

"I don't know anything about this guy and now I have to duel him and for the highest of stakes ever. I don't even have the gang to back me up." Yugi thought. "I'll begin this duel by summoning the Celtic Guardian in Attack mode!" he said, setting the card down and his monster appeared on the field. "I've made my move, now you do yours!"

"I place my monster in defence mode." The figure said setting his card down and a square on his side began to glow yellow and pulse.

"What's the matter afraid to face me head on?" Yugi asked.

"I don't need to go on the offensive little Yugi, it's you who needs to get aggressive if you're going to win back your Millennium Puzzle." The thief answered.

"Fine, then I'll attack with Celtic Guardian!" Yugi shouted and the thief smirked.

"That's exactly what I wanted you to do little Yugi, you've activated the effect of my monster. Cyber Jar." He said as his monster revealed itself to be a machine-like version of the Morphing Jar card Yugi had faced once before. It had an Attack of 900 and a Defence of 900 and it began emitting a powerful sonic blast before both it and Celtic Guardian shattered like glass. "This card destroys every face up monster on the field, and we both get to draw five new cards. So, let's see what's up your sleeve this time little Yugi."

"Time for a new strategy." Yugi thought while looking at his cards. "I'm setting a monster in defence mode." He said making his move.

"And I'm playing mine in attack mode. Meet Mechanicalchaser and Ground Attacker Bugroth." He said summoning two level four monsters to his side of the field and Yugi's eyes widened as he saw both machine monsters.

"More machine monsters, there is only one player I know who has this many machine cards." Yugi thought. "Show yourself Bandit Keith!" he shouted and the figure lowered his hood to show that his hunch was right.

"I was right. But why would Bandit Keith disguise himself and steal my Millennium Puzzle, when I last saw him was when he and Daisuke duelled at Duelist Kingdom, he cheated but Daisuke beat him. He then tried to take the prize money by threatening to hurt Dai, but she kicked his butt and he got taken away to the dungeons of the castle." He thought.

"I am not Bandit Keith; I am simply speaking through him using him as my mind-controlled slave." Bandit Keith said with his voice distorting and Yugi frowned.

"What do you mean, tell me!" he demanded.

"After Bandit Keith was locked away in Pegasus' dungeons after his defeat at Duelist Kingdom and after trying to threaten the life of one of your friends to get the money from Pegasus, he fell into a deep pit of despair. Such a lost soul not knowing what to do or where to go, I simply took control of his mind while he was in his cell and once you all left the island we set him free and picked him up in our ship on the way to collect some rare items." The one mind controlling Bandit Keith spoke through him to Yugi. "I always am in need of new minds to control and he seemed like the perfect puppet to do my bidding, and as fate would have it. He led me right to you and your Millennium Puzzle. Is it all sinking it yet little Yugi?" he asked the boy.

"H…help…m…me…" Yugi then heard Bandit Keith weakly plead as life came back to his eyes for a moment before they glazed over again. "Let the duel continue. I play Machine King in Attack mode." He said and Yugi saw another machine monster appear standing between the other two monsters already on the field. "Machine King has a special ability, he gains 100 attack points for every other machine monster on the field, including himself." He said and Machine King's attack climbed to 2500.

"Machine King Attack with Jet Punch!" he commanded his monster which fired its right fist at Yugi's monster which appeared showing it was Silver Fang before the wolf was destroyed and the fist flew back and reconnected to Machine King's arm.

"It's not over yet, I play another card in defence mode." Yugi said, setting another card down.

"Your defences are useless against my mechanical army, especially after I put this machine on the frontline. Megasonic Eye!" Bandit Keith shouted and a fourth monster appeared on the field. "And it adds another 100 attack points to Machine King, making him ever more deadly. Now destroy his monster." He then ordered the powered-up Machine King who fired his fist at the monster again which appeared revealing it to be Stone Soldier and it was destroyed, crumbling to dust.

"No, my stone soldier!" Yugi said in worry.

"That's right, all your defences are gone. You have no idea who you're up against Little Yugi." Bandit Keith told him as the duel continued.

Meanwhile at the high school, Tea had finally found Daisuke and Tristan and told them about what had happened earlier. "I can't believe this, what kind of jerk would steal Yugi's puzzle." Daisuke questioned as they ran out the front door of the school and Tea led the way back to where she last saw Yugi with Daisuke still wearing the soccer team uniform having no time to change into her normal uniform.

"I'm really sorry about this Dai, I know how much the soccer game meant." Tea apologised and Daisuke smiled.

"Don't worry about it, my friends are more important than a soccer game. Now come on let's get moving people!" She shouted and they ran faster and soon found what was left of the fortune teller's stand.

"This is where that thief was when we met him, he ran down the alleyway." Tea said looking down the alleyway in worry.

"Come on let's go after him." Daisuke said running down the alley with her friends following her only for them to stop shortly after seeing the arrows Yugi had followed now all over the place pointing different directions.

"Hey what gives, who switched all the arrows around?" Tristan asked looking at one of the arrows with a frown. "Did anyone else know where to look for Yugi?" he asked, turning to Tea.

"Well Bakura, I told him when I ran into him and he said he'd go find help." She explained.

"But what if he didn't go looking for help and instead went after Yugi?" Daisuke asked, narrowing her eyes. "Could it be possible that he somehow regained possession of his Millennium Item?"

"But how, I threw it out into the forests around Pegasus' castle back on Duelist Kingdom, Kaiba saw me do it too." Tristan answered thinking back to the day.

"I guess it's not just Yugi's Millennium Puzzle that has a lot of magical powers." Daisuke replied.

"That doesn't matter right now, we need to find Yugi and help him. He's in danger." Tea said in worry.

"You're right, come on." Tristan said and the three ran off down the alley searching for their friend.

Back at the warehouse, Yugi drew his next card and looked at it and his hand and smiled. "It's my move." He said.

"Nothing you can do will save you from my machine army little Yugi," Bandit Keith said with a smirk. "Soon it'll be all over, and your puzzle will be mine." He said as a golden eye appeared on his forehead for a moment.

"I'd like to see you talk so tough once I finish my turn. I summon Curse of Dragon in Attack mode." Yugi said and his dragon appeared on the field with a screech. "Next I play the magic card Polymerization to fuse him with Gaia the Fierce Knight who I hold in my hand to create Gaia the Dragon Champion." Curse of Dragon flew into the air as Gaia the Fierce Knight appeared only without his horse as he landed sitting on the dragon and the fusion monster was ready for battle. "Now Gaia, attack Mechanicalchaser." He commanded and Gaia flew towards the machine monster that flew up to meet the attack only to be slashed in half by Gaia's twin lances.

"Tch, lucky play." Bandit Keith said as his life-points fell to 1250 and he drew his next card. "I swap Megasonic Eye and Ground Attacker Bugroth to defence mode. Then I play the Magic card Machine Conversion Factory, this card adds 300 Attack and Defence points to all my machine monsters." He said playing the card and Yugi gasped.

"Oh no, that means Machine King is stronger than my Dragon Champion." He said looking at the new stats for each of Bandit Keith's monsters. Megasonic Eye had 1800 Attack and 2000 Defence, Ground Attack Bugroth had 1800 Attack and 1300 Defence and Machine King now had 2800 Attack and 2300 Defence points.

"That's right now Machine King Attack!" Bandit Keith commanded and his monster fired both fists at Gaia, destroying the fusion monster and Yugi's life-points fell to 1800. "Your offensive is over Yugi, why don't you just surrender, you've seen how powerful my machines have become. It's the inevitable conclusion to our game that you will lose, so why delay the inevitable?" he asked.

Yugi didn't answer as he drew his next card and his eyes widened. "The Summoned Skull, this gives me an idea, but first I need to play a magic card." He thought before he looked across at Bandit Keith. "Your machines might be incredibly powerful, but they're still made of metal. So, I play Makiu the Magical Mist!" he shouted, playing the magic card and a thick wet mist began forming on the entire field.

"Do you think a little mist will destroy my machines?" Bandit Keith asked him.

"No, but it will cause your monsters to rust and turns them all into one giant lightning rod." Yugi said as the three machine monsters rusted over with their Attack and Defence points dropping by 300 each. "This makes them the perfect targets for my Summoned Skull!" he shouted summoning his monster. "Summoned Skull destroy Machine King now with your lightning strike!" he commanded and his monster's Attack points rose to 3250 thanks to the effects of Makiu and he unleashed a stream of lightning at Machine King destroying it in a bright flash of light.

"You little…" Bandit Keith growled as his life-points dropped to 500.

"The boy is good; he duels better without the spirit of the Millennium Puzzle to aid him. But my deck is filled with rare cards and soon I will crush him with their might, then his Millennium Puzzle will be mine." The one mind controlling Bandit Keith thought with a slight smirk.

"Any more machines for the scrap heap?" Yugi asked Bandit Keith as his turn ended and his Summoned Skull's attack points reverted back to its original points.

"You're finished little Yugi. I play the Magic card Graceful Charity, this allows me to draw three new cards from my deck, and I am quite confident they will be just the cards I need to end this duel." Bandit Keith said as he raised his hand slowly before three cards fell into his hand when he flicked his wrist out of Yugi's line of sight, and he set them on his deck and drew them. "The end is here. I play the extremely rare Zera Ritual Card, it's used to summon one of the most powerful monsters in the game."

Yugi watched as a large cloud of smoke appeared on Bandit Keith's side of the field revealing a ornate throne with giant eyes on it where a figure sat and all Yugi saw of its face were its glowing yellow eyes "I've never heard of that card, but I have a sneaking suspicion I'm about to learn more about then I want to know." Yugi said.

"Very perceptive of you." Bandit Keith said.

"Activating a Ritual Card needs more then just one card; you still need to have the right monster in your hand and what're the odds of that?" Yugi asked before Bandit Keith held up the card in his hand and his eyes widened in disbelief.

"Maybe now you realise just what you are up against. Zera Ritual sacrifices my two monsters on the field to summon the strongest of my creatures. Behold one of the most powerful monsters in the game." Bandit Keith said as the figure sitting on the throne fired two beams from its eyes, turning both machine monsters into smoke clouds that combined and created the ritual monster.

"Feast your eyes on your demise, Zera the Mant!" Bandit Keith said as the creature was revealed to be a giant blue skeletal dinosaur/dragon hybrid with a crimson cape around its neck and it let out a terrifying roar and Yugi saw it had 2800 Attack and 2300 Defence points. "Now Zera attack!" He shouted and his ritual monster roared as it lunged towards Summoned Skull and cut both its arms clean off as the monster exploded into tiny data bits and Yugi looked up at the monster in shock as his life-points fell to 1500.

"Zera obliterated my monster, but I can't give up. I'll never let you get my puzzle!" Yugi shouted defiantly to Bandit Keith and the one mind controlling him.

"Nothing in your deck is strong enough to defeat Zera, just you wait Yugi, you'll admit defeat soon enough."

Meanwhile outside the warehouse, Bakura stepped into view and he smirked. "The Millennium Puzzle is somewhere inside, and what is this…" he mused walking closer to the building. "I am sensing magic from the Shadow Realm inside; it seems collecting my prize will be more interesting than I thought." He quickly climbed up to the open window on the second floor of the warehouse and stepped through and saw the duel taking place. "I see, the Shadow Realm energy I am sensing is coming from Bandit Keith, or rather the one who is controlling the poor fool." Bakura thought as his Millennium Ring glowed and he smirked. "Only I can claim the Millennium Puzzle, Ring sever the strings that bind this man. Free his mind from the Shadow Realm." He instructed his Millennium Item as it glowed and fired a thin beam of light directly at Bandit Keith's head causing the man to stumble slightly.

"What's going on, my connection to Bandit Keith's mind has been disrupted somehow. Impossible only the power of another Millennium Item can do such a thing." The one who had been controlling Bandit Keith thought as his hand holding his own Millennium Item a golden rod loosened its grip for a moment.

"Where am I…and what on earth am I wearing?" Bandit Keith questioned holding his head as he leaned over his duel platform disoriented.

"Bandit Keith, you're back!?" Yugi exclaimed, making the man look over at Yugi.

"What the hell, Yugi Muto!?" he shouted in anger. "What're you doing…" he was cut off when he cried out in pain and clutched his head.

"Keith, your resistance is pathetic now pick up those cards and win me that puzzle." The one controlling Bandit Keith commanded, raising his Millennium Item up as it glowed brightly as he tried to retake control of Bandit Keith's mind.

"I refuse to lose my power over this fool, whoever is trying to sever the connection between us must also be after the Millennium Puzzle, I refuse to let another claim what should be rightfully mine!" the mind controlled angrily declared as his Millennium Item glowed brighter and Bandit Keith slumped before he jumped over the platform and ran across the duel arena.

"Before I lose complete control of this buffoon, I will destroy this puzzle, no one else shall claim it!" Bandit Keith shouted angrily as he grabbed the Millennium Puzzle and he smashed it against the side of the console shattering it to pieces.

"My Millennium Puzzle, no!" Yugi screamed in shock watching as the pieces clattered onto the duel arena. Bandit Keith continued to scream loudly holding his head before Bakura swung in holding an old rope and he slammed into the man sending him stumbling back and he tripped and fell off the duel arena landing in a heap.

"That's quite enough of that." Bakura said as Yugi jumped off the platform onto the arena.

"Bakura, what're you doing here?" he questioned the white haired boy who had buttoned up his jacket to hide the Millennium Ring.

"Tea told me what had happened, so I came to help." Bakura explained with a polite smile before he picked up a few pieces of the shattered Millennium Puzzle. "Sorry about your puzzle but smashed to pieces is better then stolen." He said.

"Yeah, you're right. It took me forever to do it the first time, but at least now I have a chance. Maybe this time it'll be easier since I did it before." Yugi said taking the offered pieces and he looked at the part of the puzzle still hanging from the chain while Bakura slightly smirked.

"And once you do, I'll be there to take it away from you. And to ensure that nobody gets in my way again, I will have to manipulate a piece of the puzzle." He thought as in his hand, he held the last piece of the shattered puzzle which gave off a sickly green aura for a moment. "Ring transfer a portion of my soul into the puzzle piece, so that I may forever be near its ultimate power." He commanded with a thought and the puzzle piece in his hand glowed and he chuckled before he walked over to the unaware Yugi.

"Yugi I do believe you missed a piece." Bakura said with a polite smile, making Yugi turn and smile as his friend handed him the piece.

"Thanks, Bakura, the last thing I need is to lose a piece of the puzzle." Yugi said, taking the piece.

"Yes, well you can't complete it without all the pieces, now we really should be heading back to school." Bakura said as he climbed off the duel arena landing on his butt rather hard.

"You ok?" Yugi asked as Bakura stood up rubbing his sore butt as he walked off. "I'll be right behind you; I just have to unhook my puzzle." He called to Bakura who nodded as he walked out the door.

Yugi then turned back to his puzzle before hearing Bandit Keith screaming again as he stood up holding his head. "Get out of my head, get out of my head!" he shouted grabbing a metal pole he found on the floor and he swung it around wildly before one of his swings struck the power panel on the wall causing it to spark and he fell back as the panel exploded sending sparks flying and the stacked up old wood and other materials caught fire.

Meanwhile not far from the warehouse, Daisuke, Tea and Tristan all looked ahead and gasped on seeing a thick cloud of smoke billowing into the air. "Fire, come on someone might need help!" Daisuke said running ahead and her friends followed her, they soon came across the now burning warehouse and heard someone screaming for help from inside.

"Tea call the fire department we'll try to get inside!" Tristan shouted as he and Daisuke ran towards the warehouse while Tea ran off to find a phone. Tristan reached the door first and grabbed the handle only to jump back as it was burning hot, Daisuke then walked up and kicked the door a few times but it wouldn't break.

"Ah no good. Come on let's do it together." She told Tristan who nodded. "On three." Both backed up from the door.

"Three!" they both shouted charging the door and they slammed their shoulders into it, but it didn't budge. "Three!" they shouted trying again slamming into the door before both backed up.

"One more time, hit this damn door as hard as you can!" Daisuke shouted and her friend nodded as they both charged the door and smashed it down.

"Anyone in here!?" Tristan called out into the flames before both saw Bandit Keith screaming as he ran past them.

"This place is haunted!"

"Did we just save Bandit Keith?" Daisuke asked with a frown.

"No time to worry about that, we need to check and make sure nobody else is in here." Tristan said putting a hand on her shoulder and she nodded. Both turned and walked through the burning building and both gasped as they saw Yugi still on the duel arena trying to put his puzzle back together.

"Yugi what the heck are you doing, we gotta go!" Daisuke shouted to her friend who turned his head to look at them both.

"I can't leave yet! I have to finish putting together the Millennium Puzzle!" he shouted back as another part of the burning roof fell down onto the duel arena.

"All this smoke's gone to his head." Tristan said as he and Daisuke ran towards the arena and climbed up onto it just as Yugi slid the last piece into the puzzle.

"I did it…fi…finished…" he whispered out in relief before he began to sway. "Heat…dizzy…" he groaned, slumping only for Daisuke to catch him in her arms.

"I got ya bud, come on we gotta go." She told him. "Tristan go fetch his deck."

"Got it." He said, climbing up the duel platform and grabbed Yugi's cards before jumping down as the flames grew larger and more of the building began to give way.

"I…I can't leave yet…not without my puzzle." Yugi groaned weakly holding onto the Millennium Puzzle refusing to let it go.

"Oh, for the love of Pete!" Daisuke groaned before she saw a metal pole and grabbed it.

"Hey great idea, we'll knock the puzzle free." Tristan said.

"That won't work, plus we don't have enough time to fool around. Just follow my lead." Daisuke replied with a serious look and she slid the pole through the hole on the spike holding the chain and she and Tristan began pulling on the pole with all their might and the spike soon was pulled out of the duel platform.

"Got it." Tristan cheered as he scooped Yugi up in his arms. "Come on let's run!"

"Don't have to tell me twice!" Daisuke shouted as both ran for the door as the flames roared behind them, both ran outside and saw several fire trucks and firefighters had arrived and were now battling the flames while Tea was back and she ran over to them.

"You guys, you're ok!" She said in relief hugging them all tightly before looking at the currently unconscious Yugi.

"So is Yug, and his puzzle." Daisuke added with a smile and soon the four of them were in Yugi's hospital room after the fire.

"Thank you guys so much, if it weren't for you I'd probably not be here. You both risked your own lives to save mine." Yugi said his face covered in small plasters as were Daisuke and Tristan's faces.

"Of course we did. You're our friend Yug, and that's what friends do." Daisuke replied with a smile.

"Couldn't have said it better myself." Tristan said as he and Dai bumped fists with matching grins.

"How can I ever repay you guys?" Yugi asked.

"Share your hospital food with us, I call dibs on the jelly." Daisuke chirped quickly.

"Hey no fair!" Tristan exclaimed, grabbing her and giving her a noogie making Yugi laugh at his friend's antics and soon the others all began to laugh as well, happy to be all okay after the days harrowing events.
