Heroic deeds?
The five them slowly ascended the tower, The Dragon-blood with stealth skills leading them. On the third level they found the room that the soldiers were using to rest.
"No."
The Social Dragon-Blood put her foot down on using any more of her essence to charm them. They needed to get them out of the tower to clear it but Shirou didn't want to give the order.
Their Social Exalted sighed and spoke the order herself quietly "Everyone within that room must die. Attack on five."
Shirou could have said something, he could have stopped it. He knew however that they didn't really have another way.
At least it was quick.
The others split up to make sure there was no-one left in the tower as Shirou climbed to the roof.
"Who goes there?" A masculine voice asked in high realm just before climbing the last few steps to the roof. Shirou stopped but he had been heard by now. There were two possibilities for who he faced, either it would be a mortal with the duty of guarding this tower or it would be A Dragon-blood with the same.
If it was a mortal, Shirou might be able to get him to surrender. If it were an Exalted however that would be next to impossible. A dragon-blood would be dressed differently than a mortal soldier so he would be able to tell with just one look.
The man ordered something again, this time in Low realm so Shirou failed to understand. He seemed to be trying to figure out if there really was someone there then. Shirou traced Kanshou and Bakuya and felt the strength they now gave flow into him.
"Last chance!" The man called out and Shirou heard the distinctive sound of a bow at full draw.
The watchtower had a roof to keep the rain off in bad weather, it was supported by some beams. Shirou leapt up with his enhanced strength toward the beam, as he did he heard the bow release and he dropped his blades. His hands reached the beam and he pulled himself up out of the arrow's path. He looked down to find out what sort of person was guarding the tower.
It was a dragon-blood, of course it was. A man in white Jade Lamellar armour and carrying a blue jade Long Powerbow, no normal soldier woud be equipped that heavily.
Both Artifacts spoke to him, he got flashes of their past as the man drew the bow for a second time. Shirou swung from the beam down toward the man and traced another pair of blades as he fell. The man stepped to the side to dodge his blow but Shirou followed up by throwing Kanshou towards him.
The Dragon-blood jumped to the side again but that throw had another use, Shirou reached backwards as the Bakuya from the first set of summoned blades flew towards him. As he caught it he threw the Bakuya he already held towards the Dragon-blood.
The Dragon-blood ducked and drew his bow to full draw and as he did Shirou called the other blade from the stairs to his hands. The arrow was fired and Shirou parried it out of the air with his first blade before leaping forward with the second. Behind the dragon-blood the two blades he threw earlier arced back.
Shirou muttered in Japanese under his breath as he struck "Crane wings, without opening" He swung only for the Dragon-blood to leap back. He continued on with another pair of slashes "Spirit and technique, reaching the mountain".
"Spirit and technique, crossing the Yellow River" Shirou's swords slashed in different directions "Our Name, ending in a different heaven"
The Dragon-blood dodged again but it looked like Shirou's flurry had exhausted the man's ability to dodge so the last two blades swung in without difficulty as Shirou slashed again himself "Two rivals, sharing a life"
The four blades bit into flesh as Shirou finished the technique's incantation "Triple-Linked Crane Wings"
Shirou watched the Exalted bleed out but was shocked when the man stood suddenly and punched him in the face. Shirou flew back as the man ran up and grabbed him. Shirou called another pair of blades before stabbing in a panic toward the man to place another two swords into him.
The man didn't drop him, instead he roared and threw him over the ledge to the ground below. Shirou's eyes opened wide as he sailed into the sky.
Half way down he realised how to save himself, two thirds of the way down he traced another set of blades and plunged them into the wall. He pulled himself up and stood on the blades that were stuck into the wall, he traced another set of blades and jumped before stabbing in again and repeating.
Somewhere in the back of his head he realised that this was reckless or even impossible but it only took about fifteen seconds to climb back up the tower and onto the roof. The first thing he did was dodge an arrow shot at him but jumping once more onto the roof. He ran across the roof and broke through to slash at him from above.
The man pointed an arrow at him and fired. Shirou let it hit just to surprise the Exalt before slashing through him. He channeled his essence into his sword skill and let his blades inflict lethal wounds.
Shirou fell back as the man collapsed. Shirou looked down at him and sighed before hearing a roar from below the tower, the attack had begun on schedule. He could trust the others to hold the tower while he assisted the battle. He lifted the man's bow (No reason to waste essence by tracing his own copy) and took his quiver.
He nocked an arrow and let his eyes fall on a squad of soldiers on another street. He found their leader and released.
End of chapter
I hope that this fight wasn't ridiculous, I just wanted to try and write a stunt based battle.
Also the Triple-Linked Crane Wings speech was an alternate translation of Shirou's version of it. I wanted to make it noticeably different from Archer's version.
