Epilogue: Rex's Story

Corrine was confused. She had seen Rex writing on his computer before he left. Rex hated writing, so why was he doing it now? He didn't have any schoolwork, school was out! Curious, Corrine walked to his room and went inside. His computer was still open, and it was open to a writing program. On the page seemed to be the beginnings of a story. Still curious, Corrine decided to read what Rex had written. It read this:

Rex didn't see why he had to go to the prom. All of his friends had dates, but he didn't. Of course, his friend Pyra had asked him to go with her, but with the aid of quick thinking, he was able to get out of it. She had had feelings for him since grade school, but he didn't share her feelings. He had never met anyone in New Elysium High School that he had feelings for. So while his friends danced the night away, he was busy binging cringy anime on his phone. He looked up. He didn't know why, he just did. And he saw her. A girl. She was sitting across the room, sitting at a table like he was. She was wearing a pretty blue dress, but It seemed that she had nobody to dance with. She was staring back into his eyes. And they were just staring at each other from across the room. Rex then stood up, almost on impulse, and he began to weave his way through the couples. He needed to meet this girl!
