Troy was in the locker room getting ready for the championship game when his phone rang. He smiled at the caller ID. "Hey Baby."

"Hey Wildcat."

"Are you leaving soon, the game's gonna start soon and I need you here."

"I'm leaving soon, I'll be there Baby. I just have someone here who wants to talk to you."

He smiled as he heard the phone change over. "Hi Daddy."

"Hey Baby Girl, are you ok?"

He heard Gabriella in the background saying 'is there something you want to tell Daddy?' and the little girl responded. "Good luck Daddy."

"Thank you Angel, I miss you."

"I miss you."

"I'll be back soon Baby Girl and we can watch a movie."

"Ok, bye bye Daddy, love you."

"I love you too Angel, bye." He heard Gabriella take the phone back. "Brie?"

"I'm heading out the door now, I'll be there soon. Don't worry Wildcat, I know you'll do great."

"And you'll sit behind the players' bench?" He asked hopefully.

"But Troy, that area's only for family and -"

"I want you there Baby, please."

"Ok Wildcat." She heard the coach in the background. "I'll let you go Baby, I'll be there soon. Good luck and I love you."

"I love you too Brie, see you soon." As he got off the phone, he felt Chad shove him. "What?"

"You're whipped Captain."

He rolled his eyes. "Yeah yeah, whatever. When you get a girl like Brie, you will be too Man."

"Whatever you say, who were you talking to? I know it was Gabster at the start and end but who was the other person?"

Troy didn't know how to respond so he was relieved when the Coach interrupted and they had to go onto the court.

It was a tough game and the Wildcats narrowly won, Troy scoring the winning basket. He congratulated the team and avoided the cheerleaders as he made his way to Gabriella who had a grin on her face. As soon as he was close, she pulled him into a tight hug. "Congratulations Wildcat."

"Thanks Baby." He said before tipping her chin up and kissing her softly.

"I'm so proud of you Troy."

He leant his forehead against hers and closed his eyes. "I love you."

"I love you too."

Their moment was interrupted by the coach. "Bolton, wrap it up, we're having a team photo and giving out the championship rings." His eyes sparkled as an idea popped into his head.

He kissed Gabriella's cheek. "Wait for me Baby and I'll take you home, I'll be back." She nodded as he walked over to his team and they took their photos. He looked over at his girlfriend and gestured for her to join the photo. She shook her head resolutely mouthing 'it's a team photo.' He pouted at her making her giggle and shake her head before he turned back to the cameras.

The coach started to hand out the championship rings and Troy nudged Chad, "can I get you to take some photos."

Chad looked at him quizzically before looking over at Gabriella and he connected the dots; he rolled his eyes. "Yeah Captain no worries."

Troy grinned boyishly in response as the coach handed him the ring. "I don't think you'll be keeping this for long." He laughed at Troy's shocked expression. "I know my players Bolton, I know exactly what you're gonna do."

Troy rubbed the back of his neck and shrugged in response as the coach shook his head, moving onto the next player. After all the rings were given out, Troy and Chad walked over to Gabriella. The Wildcat captain took notice of the thin strapped red dress she was wearing (We're All In This Together) and grabbed his letterman jacket. He wrapped it around her shoulders and she threaded her arms through, kissing his cheek in thanks before turning to the boy who had become like her brother. "Hey Chad."

"Hey Gabster." He grinned.

She looked at him skeptically, turning to her boyfriend. "He's got a look on his face, something's going on."

Troy shook his head, rolling his eyes at his best friend before turning his attention back to his girlfriend. He slipped the ring off his finger and took her left hand, putting it on her ring finger. She bit her bottom lip, watching his actions as he kissed her knuckles before he stood up. "I wish I had a big speech prepared but I don't think I'd be able to get the words out right. But I love you Brie so think of this as a promise ring."

She smiled brightly and kissed him softly keeping in mind their audience. She leant their foreheads together, whispering, "I love you Wildcat."

"I love you too Beautiful."

They were interrupted by Chad. "Alright Lovebirds, let's take some photos so we can celebrate."

Gabriella giggled and turned towards Chad. She wrapped her arms around Troy's waist, leaning against his chest as he wrapped an arm around her shoulders and Chad took some photos. Chad sent them through to Troy and was about to turn away when he remembered what they'd been talking about before the game. "Hoops, you never answered my question, who else were you talking to while you were on the phone with Gabs?"

Gabriella answered instead. "If you want to find out Chad, you can come over tomorrow and meet her."

"Sounds good then, enjoy your night since I doubt I'll be seeing you guys at the afterparty."

"Bye Chad." Gabriella turned her attention back to Troy when they were alone. "You can go to the afterparty if you want, I don't want to ruin your celebration."

He rubbed their noses together which made Gabriella's heart leap. "Nah I just want to go home and spend the night with my two favourite girls." She grinned and hugged him before they made their way home.

Later that night, Troy sat on the couch watching as Gabriella played with Isabella. He grabbed out his phone and looked at the photos Chad took. He took his favourite one – Gabriella leaning against his chest with his arms around her – and he copied it to Instagram and started typing a caption:

I've been waiting to tell the world about us for the past 8 months and I'm glad to have you by my side tonight. I love everything about you Brie, you're beautiful, sweet, strong, selfless and so much more.

"Love is the centre of the universe, it can heal any damage we have inside of us... showed me that whatever our souls are made of hers and mine are the same... you once asked who I love most in this world, it's you" - I feel that this quote defines us perfectly and it's no wonder that it's from your favourite movie.

I know that we belong because you are the music in me. A line from your favourite song and this encompass us too.

I know the 'whipped' comment is definitely going to appear but I don't care. I love you Brie always and forever Baby ❤️

He smiled and posted the photo before turning back to his girls.
