The students of UH got a two-day holiday after the sports festival, so they could recover from their injuries. Instead of resting, however, Prince Icy Hot decided to go visit his mother. Early in the morning, he got dressed for the occasion. He wore a simple outfit, light blue skinny jeans, a black shirt that said, "ALL AMERCIAN BLONDE SUPERMAN!" on it, a white bandana around his neck, and a small canvas backpack.

"Are you sure you don't want me to go with you?" asked his older sister as he put on his shoes. He curtly replied, "Yes."

"But you've never seen her in the hospital before," she insisted.

"I can go alone. I'm not a child."

"Okay. But if you get lost just text me."

"I won't get lost." The Prince tied shoelaces and stood up. "I'll be back before dinner," he told her. "Can we have noodles and the little octopus sausages?"

She nodded. "Sure. See you soon."

So the prince walked out the door, out of the manor, and down the street. As he strolled alongside the peasants of Typical Japanese City, he began to wonder just what the hell he was doing. What the hell am I doing? Why am I going to see Mommy now all of a sudden? I haven't seen her since the incident. His hands started to tremble. What if she still sees Daddy when she looks at me? What if she tries to kill him again?

He trekked up a sloping sidewalk, and waited at a crosswalk to cross the street. Or what if she doesn't remember me? What if she forgot all about me?

The walk symbol appeared, and he began to cross the street. His head was down. He was lost in thought. Or what if she does remember me and she gets angry that I never came to see her? The prince sighed. I'm sorry Mommy. I never had the courage to—

"Hey kid, look out!" someone shouted.

The prince looked up. A speeding armored truck was running the red light. In hot pursuit were a dozen police cars. In a blink of an eye, the Prince put up an ice wall. The truck crashed into it, smashing the front windshield and crushing the hood and front bumper.

The bystanders all around the prince gawked at him. The prince gawked at the scene in front of him. The police cars screeched to a stop, surrounding the totaled truck. One of the officers jumped out of his car and ran to the prince. "Good job kid!" he said, patting The Prince on the back. "You just stopped the infamous Toilet Paper Raider. He's been stealing toilet paper from people's houses for weeks now."

The other officers ran to the back of the truck, and pried it open, revealing a huge stash of the 2-ply product. The Prince didn't particularly care, so he wanted to leave. But he couldn't, because before he knew it, the Pro Heroes and news people descended upon him, to talk to him. Then the police interrogated him, so they could write their police report.

After wasting an hour in that situation, the Prince made his way up the street toward the train station…only to find out that all trains were closed. There was a 30-ft tall supervillain blocking the railways, demanding, "Give me 2 Gazillion Yen, or else I'll destroy the city's main rail station! MWHAHAHAHA!"

As the bystanders waited for the professional heroes to come kill this guy, Ice Prince groaned. "I just want to go to the hospital," he mumbled under his breath. Fortunately, it only took 10 minutes for Attack on Titan Lady to show up and kick the villains ass. Unfortunately, she herself destroyed the city's main rail station. So, now the Prince had to walk all the way across town to go to the damn hospital.

So Prince Half White was walking along the sidewalk, pissed off about the train situation and worried about seeing his mother. He wondered if the Fates were telling him to go home and forget about this whole episode. But, he also knew that these sorts of things happen every day in Typical Japanese City. "That's why we need professional heroes," he reminded himself. But just as he was saying that, a group of dudes jumped out of an alleyway, grabbed him, and pulled him into to shadows.

There were six guys, each wearing dark purple clothes, sunglasses, and leather bracelets on their right wrists. One guy had the prince in a headlock as the others search in his pockets.

"Give us your wallet kid," said the guy who looked like the ringleader. His hair was slicked back, and he had a lot of piercings on his face. "Give us your wallet and we won't beat you up so bad."

The Prince was confused. "Why do you need my wallet?"

"Oh a smartass, huh?"

The guy who had him in a headlock, said, "Boss, he has a backpack."

So the boss ripped the backpack off and rummaged through it, taking his cellphone and wallet. He pocketed the cellphone and took the cash out of the wallet. That's when the Prince remembered something he'd saw on an episode of Sesame Streets.

Elmo had been walking down the streets with celebrity guest Ariana Grande. They were talking about loving yourself and being self-confident, when all of a sudden, a villain popped out in front of them and grabbed Elmo. "Give us your wallet!" the villain demanded. Ariana Grande used her quirk, E7-Sharp, to send a melodic soundwave blast to disorient the villain. Elmo then used his quirk, Super Elmo Punch, to punch the guy's lights out. Then they both ran and called the police. At the end of the episode, Elmo said, "Remember everyone, be careful in these streets! Anyone can get mugged."

"Oh my god, I'm being mugged," the Prince realized. He leaned forward, flipping over the guy who had him in a headlock. Then he froze all of his assailants in place. They all screamed, "What the hell?!" The Prince snatched his wallet, money, and phone back from the Chief Mugger, and then punched him in the face with a "Super Elmo Punch!"

Then he called the police and waited for them to arrive.

"Wow, kid," said one of the twelve policemen who arrived at the scene of the crime. "You stopped the Mug Shot Squad, an infamous band of miscreants that have been mugging people on this side of the city for years!" Another policeman said, "Hey, didn't we see you earlier at the toilet paper heist?"

At this point, it was mid-afternoon, and the Prince really wanted to see his mother. "Are we done here? I really need to go to the hospital."

The policemen gasped. "Are you hurt?"

"No. I just need to see my Mommy."

"Oh no, he's in shock! Call an ambulance!"

"In shock? No, I just need to see my Mommy at the hospital."

So two policemen drove him to the hospital, and escorted him inside. Finally, at the hospital, the Prince walked up to the receptionist and told her, "I'm here to see my Mommy."

"Oh good," she replied. "What's her name? I'll tell you the room number."

The prince stared at her. She stared at him. She repeated, "What's her name? I'll tell you her room number."

"She's my Mommy. Her name is Mommy."

The receptionist was puzzled. She looked up at the police escorts. One of the policemen, Officer Brigadier General Wakson, told the Prince, "Kid, you have to tell the nice lady your Mom's full legal name."

The other officer, Captain Yum-Yums Dogsworth (he was a dog), asked, "You know the name of your mother, right?"

No he didn't. For him, her name had always been Mommy. "Uh…"

The Princess was sitting in the living room, watching the news on TV while studying for her entrance examinations for Mom School. She just happened to finish reading the chapter about what to do if your only son runs off to go on an adventure and seek his destiny. She happened to look up at the TV, and to her surprise, she saw her little brother on the news. The news anchor lady asked him, "How did you stop that speeding truck?"

The Prince pointed at the ice wall. "I put up a wall of ice."

"Weren't you afraid? Wasn't it scary?"

"No I didn't even notice the truck was speeding at me. That's why Elmo always says to look both ways before crossing the street."

The Princess frowned. "What the hell?"

That's when she also got a call from her little brother. She answered the phone, "Hey, Bro, you okay?"

"Yes," he replied, hesitantly.

"Are you sure? Where are you?"

"I'm at the hospital?"

"Did you get hurt?"

"No, I'm here to see Mommy."

"Oh, right. So have you seen her?"

"Um… what's her name?"

"Who?"

"What's Mommy's name?"

"…You don't know Mom's name?"

"…It's Mommy, right?"

The Prince's Big Sister sighed. "No, Half White, no. Her name is not Mommy. It's Queen Yukina Snow White."

"Oh. Okay. Thank you."

He hung up the phone.

The Queen's Room Number was 2230.

The 30th room on the 22nd floor.

So the Prince walked down the corridor of the hospital, escorted by Officer Brigadier General Wakson and Captain Yum-Yums Dogsworth. The three of them entered the elevator, and Captain Yum-Yums pressed the button for floor 22. Right as the door was about to close, someone called out, "Oh, wait, hold the elevator." Officer Wakson held the door open for two more people to hop on the elevator.

To the Prince's surprise, it was Green Boi, and his mom. "Thanks!" Green Boi said with a bright eyed smile as he and his mom stepped in. The Bean was wearing an All American T-shirt and khaki shorts. His mom wore a simple pink dress and a blue cardigan. She was carrying a small gift basket. And for some reason, Green Boi was carrying a large bouquet of flowers. He exclaimed, "Oh! Prince Zuko-kun!"

The Prince was startled. "Bean Child? What are you doing in the hospital?"

"Me and my mom are here to see someone." He looked at the elevator buttons. "Looks like we're all going to the same floor." He turned to his mom. "Mom, this is Half White Prince Zuko, from my class."

The woman glared at the Prince. "Yes, the one who broke your hand to bits during the sports festival."

"No, Mom," Green Boi groaned, as if they'd had this argument before, "I'm the one who broke my hand. I didn't have to fight him like that."

"Well either way your hand is broken and it'll never be the same again."

Yikes. The Prince hadn't meant to permanently disfigure his classmate.

"Mom," Green Boi groaned. He turned to Prince Zuko. "My hand is fine. I can still write fanfiction so I'm good. So what brings you here to the hospital?"

A slight pause. "…I'm here to see my mommy…"

"That's good! Are you excited to see her?"

The Prince shrugged and looked askance. He put his hands in his pockets and kept silent.

Bean Child blushed. "Oh, yikes, my bad, I didn't mean to pry. Yeah, my mom and I came here to bring flowers and apologize to someone Explochan's mom beat up. We're trying to convince him not to press charges, or else Explochan's mom will get her 10th civil offense and be officially marked as a minor villain in the city registry."

Green Mom sighed. "I'm so tired of cleaning up that woman's messes. But I can't let her go to jail. Her family will fall apart."

"That's why you're a good friend, Mom. And I look up to you and respect you for that."

"Aww, my precious son."

They hugged each other.

The prince sighed.

The elevator pinged.

They were on Floor 22. They all stepped out of the elevator. Green Boi and his mom suddenly tensed up. They looked at the policemen behind them. Green Mom spoke up, "Um, Officers, why are you here?"

Captain Yum-Yums replied, "We're with the boy."

Green Boi and Green Mom exhaled with relief. Then they quickly ducked into room 2219. The Prince paused in front of that room. He wondered, Would my relationship with Mommy be like that if the incident hadn't happened? He touched the leathery skin around his left eye.

He trudged toward room 2230. And with each step he took, he began to feel heavier and heavier. His legs felt weak, and he started to sweat. He began to panic. What if she still hates my left side? He wondered. What if I still look like Daddy? He stopped moving. What if she hates me?

Captain Yum-Yums and Officer Wakson each placed a hand on his shoulder. "You can do this kid," they encouraged him. "We've got your back."

"Can you both leave?" the Prince shot back, annoyed.

He regretted asking the nice officers to leave. After all, they were only trying to help. But he didn't know them personally, and he didn't want them to insert themselves into his life like that.

Also, he didn't want them to see him like this. He was sitting on a bench outside his mother's room, crying. He didn't even understand why he was crying. He wasn't blubbering like Green Boi usually does. It was a steady flow of small, hot tears. Light enough to wipe away whenever a nurse, doctor, or visitor walked past him in the hallway. But painful enough to burn his face and the back of his hands.

He wanted to go see his mom. After all, he'd come all this way. But his legs felt so heavy and he was crying. Was this the best way to go see her? This would be the first time in years, so he didn't want her to see him crying. But he couldn't stop, and the tears were painful, and he didn't want to get up. So he sat there for what seemed like years.

But it was only about 30 minutes.

And in that 30 minutes, Green Mom had convinced Politically Influential News Media Owner Guy not to press charges against Angry Explosion Mom for beating the shit out of him for the nasty article he wrote about her son. News Media Owner Guy hadn't liked Explochan's demeanor during the Sports Festival, so he attacked the boy in the newspapers, calling him, "an Uncouth Foolish Little Boy" and a, "Villain-in-Training". As a man who had never faced any consequences for his actions, of course he didn't expect the boy's mother to break into his home and beat him up the night after the publication.

She'd given him a hell of a beat down, so he'd be in the hospital for the next eight weeks, receiving treatment for the burns. So imagine his terror when Green Mom said, "Do you really think that you'll stop her just by pressing charges? If you press charges, she'll kill you. If she's going to go to jail, she'll go to jail for murder, not aggravated assault. She'll finish the job she started. But before that, she'll kill everyone you love. Your wife. Your children. Your mistress. Your pet turtle. Everyone."

"Not Mr. Patches," begged the injured executive. "Please, he's a good turtle."

So he agreed not to press charges. Satisfied, Green Mom was eager to go home and cook some special udon to celebrate. "Let's stop by the grocery store on the way home," she told her son.

"Um, actually," Green Boi said, "can I go talk to my friend first? He seemed like he needed some character development. I'm sure he's still here."

Green Mom looked at her cellphone. It was almost 5pm. "Okay, but we need to leave before sunset because the muggers come out at night."

"Okay." Green Boi said as he ran off down the hall. He instinctively knew to head toward the soft sound of misery. And he found the Prince quietly crying outside of his mother's hospital room. "Prince Zuko-kun?"

The Prince looked up. He sighed. He wiped his face. He didn't reply. Green Bean sat beside him. "You okay?"

Silence from the Prince.

"Did you see your mom?"

Silence.

"Do you want me to go with you?"

"Why do you care?" the Prince asked.

"Because I'm a good person…"

Silence.

The Prince was usually a stoic guy. Quiet. Reserved. Not much emotion. The whole first season, he was just chill. So why, all of a sudden, did he start to experience these intense emotions? All these feelings were so weird and painful to him. He didn't know how to tell this Green Bean about it. But he wanted to. He just wanted to talk to someone. So the Prince sniffled and wiped his face. "It's just difficult."

"…I could only imagine. I'm lucky enough to have my mom."

"…So it's just you and your mother at home?"

"Yup. I've actually never met my dad," Green Boi admitted. He held Prince Zuko's hand. "I've literally never seen him. I don't know who he is or what the fuck happened to him. Part of me thinks he's dead, and Mom doesn't want to admit it to me yet. Part of me thinks that she doesn't really know who my dad is. Part of me thinks he might be a villain or something—Ah! But I digress. Don't get me started. I'll mutter and mutter and mutter. Haha."

Prince Zuko laughed a little. "Must be nice."

"Yup. I really love my mom."

"I do too…" He stood up. "Okay, I'm going."

"Good!" Green Boi smiled. The Prince put on a brave face.

He finally stepped into his mother's hospital room.

The door creaked eerily as it closed on its own. With a click, it shut completely. The room was all white. It was lit by the sunlight pouring in from a single, ceiling to floor window on the right side of the room. A couple of transparent curtains were draped over it. They wafted gently from the breeze of the air conditioning unit, because that window was bolted shut.

Sitting in front of that window was The Prince's mother. Queen Yukina Snow White. Everyone who worked with her at the hospital simply called her The Queen. And The Queen was too fixated on whatever she was looking at outside the window to notice that someone had come in. Accordingly, Half White took a deep breath, and called out, "Mommy?"

She turned around.

She squinted her eyes.

She brushed a strand of her long, straight, white hair out of her pale, weary face.

She shook her head. "I'm hallucinating again."

The Prince stared at his mother. In all his nightmares of this moment, he had imagined that his mother would scream at the sight of him. He had imagined that she'd throw things at him and cry and call him a devil and attack him.

But he never imagined that she wouldn't think he's real.

"No, Mommy, it's me. Half White."

She nervously fidgeted her fingers. "No, stop, please, I'm sorry." She sat on the bed and turned away from him. "I'm so sorry. Please, just go away."

"No, Mommy, it's really me." He sat down beside her and grabbed her hand. "I'm really here."

She paused. She stared at him. She touched his face. She touched the scarred skin around his eye. She shook her head. "Is it really you?"

He nodded.

She took a deep breath and blinked back icy tears. "No it can't be you. Your father said you hated me. He said I messed up your whole face."

"It's really me, Mommy. And I'm not angry at you. I love you."

She stared at him. She hugged him. "I'm hallucinating. I know I'm hallucinating." She tightened her grip. "Because that's what I've always wanted you to say."

The Prince emerged from his mother's hospital room with his head down, and his shoulders shuddering. He wiped his face and sniffled. Green Boi saw this. He immediately hugged the Prince.

They were quiet. Green Boi patiently waited to see what The Prince would say. For a while, he didn't say anything. So Green Boi guided him to sit down outside of his mother's hospital room and they just sat, hand in hand, quietly.

After a few minutes, The Prince said, "She was so happy to see me."

"Really?"

"Yeah…"

"That's good."

"I should have come to see her sooner."

"No, no, it's fine. You've seen her now."

"I know, but all these years she thought I hated her. But I love her. She's my mother."

"It's okay. She knows now."

"But she should have known sooner."

"All that matters is she knows now, okay?"

The Prince nodded.

"You took a big step by coming here to see her today."

The Prince nodded. "Yeah."

Green Boi hugged him. Prince Icy Hot returned the hug.

As Green Bean and his mom walked home from the hospital, she asked, "How was your friend?"

"He's struggling a bit, but he's strong. He'll get better."

She nodded. "What a terrible thing, to be separated from his mother like that. And his poor mom, my goodness, I can't imagine being locked away in a hospital, unable to see you. I'd go crazy."

"Yeah, it's a sad story."

Green Mom hugged Green Son. "I love you so much Precious Green. I'm so proud of who you are and the hero you will be."

"I love you too, Mom," he replied with a smile.
