The next thing the happy couple knew it was the day of their wedding and Derek and Penelope were pacing back in forth in separate areas of the Rossi mansion. Reid couldn't help but laugh as he watched Derek pace back and forth, he sighed and said, "I don't think Dave is wanting to have to redo the floor in here".
Derek looked up and said, "huh, what"?, Hotch said, "calm down Derek, calm down", Derek blew out a deep breath and said, "I can't man, all I can think about is the fact that I'm getting married in a little while and I'm, man, I'm nervous, my hands are shaking and it feels like my heart is going to burst out of my chest and fly out the door".
Dave said, "son everything is going to be alright, it's normal for people to be nervous on their wedding day, trust me, been there, done that" and Reid and Hotch in unison said, "yeah three times" causing Derek to laugh and shake his head. Derek sighed and said, "distract me pretty boy, tell me something, anything".
Reid said, "uhhhhh, yeah, okay, how about this one case" and Derek sat down and listened as Reid started filling him in on one of their most recent cases. When he was through Derek said, "wow, that sounds like a real sick puppy you had there", Dave said, "oh he was, he was but thankfully he's in prison where he belongs".
Hotch looked at Derek and said, "have you given any thoughts as to what career you're going to go after now or are you going to keep dancing"?, Derek said, "no, I''m giving up on dancing, from now on all of my shows are going to be in private and only for my beautiful wife" and Reid grinned and then said, "have you given any thoughts to maybe joining the bureau"?, Derek said, "I don't know, do you think that it would be something I could do"?, Hotch said, "oh I have no doubts".
Derek said, "I don't know, what if I didn't have what it took to be an FBI agent"?, Dave said, "well son you won't know until you've tried it". Reid said, "why don't you at least fill out the paperwork and find out what it's going to entail"?, Derek said, " now that I can do and just as soon as we get back from our honeymoon I'll do just that".
Hotch looked down at his watch and said, "it's time for us to head out to the backyard" and Dave said, "and that's my cue to go up and get kitten". As he started for the door Derek said, "please tell her that I love her". Dave winked and said, "I will son, I will" and they all followed him to the door but where he turned left they turned right and headed toward the stairs.
Meanwhile in the other part of the house Penelope sighed and said, "I can't believe that I'm getting married and that in a few months we're going to have a baby". JJ rubbed her own growing stomach and said, "yeah, tell me about it Garcie and that time will slip off before we both know it".
Fran looked at Penelope and said, "sweetie you look so beautiful, my son isn't going to be able to keep his hands off of you". Sarah grinned and said, "I've never seen my baby brother so happy before, being in love with you has really changed him", Penelope said, "being in love with your brother has changed me too".
They were pulled from their conversation as they heard a knock on the door, Fran walked over and opened the door and said, "come in Dave, come in" and then she stepped aside to let him into the room. He said, "ohhhhh kitten you look amazing", she turned and said, "thanks Dave and thanks for letting us have our ceremony and reception here".
Dave said, "it was my pleasure Penelope", he walked over and kissed her on the cheek and said, "Derek wanted me to tell you that he loves you". She smiled and said, "how is he"?, Dave said, "nervous but we managed to calm him down and he is now outside with Hotch and Spencer and they are waiting on us".
The women all hugged her and Fran said, "we'll go ahead down and take our seats", JJ and Emily headed toward the door and Emily said, "we'll be waiting on you down by the door". Penelope blew out a breath and nodded her head yes. Dave then held out his arm and said, "shall we kitten"?, she looped her arm through his and said, "we shall papa bear, we shall", they then stepped out into the hallway and started making their way toward the others to finally get the wedding started.
