Welcome everyone to the final arc of Metal ga kill Rising, which is called the Spark of the Revolution. Each chapter of this arc will be multi-part, but will have different title. It has been an incredible journey and I hope you're all look forward to seeing how the rest of this story will conclude as well as the post story scenes.
Chapter 39 Kill the first wave PT 1
(The Border of the Capital)
As the Revolutionary Army looked forward. They are filled with a strong sense of resolve to see this through to the end. Many months of preparing and planning has led to this very moment. The moment that everyone has risked everything for. Which will give them a chance to put an end to the corruption that has tormented countless others. Though with the great resolve that the Army has comes a crucial risk. If they fail on this day, then not only the corruption will still live on. But the collaboration will also mean the source of the corruption will get stronger. When Najenda looked forward at the army of ice-soldiers and the walls of the Capital. She knows that everyone is willing to risk everything for the future of the Capital. After looking at the army that's behind her, Najenda knew that everyone, including Tatsumi, Wolf, and Raiden are ready.
"Enemies as far as the eye can see, this is truly wonderful. This will truly be a decisive battle that will be remembered for years to come." General Esdeath said in an impressed tone
"Their going to come at us from every direction. The Rebels numbers is far greater than anything I expected. I wish my lover can see this." Suzuka said in an impressed tone
"I'm glad I sent Yashan and Vamp out on different assignments. Their abilities and talents aren't suited for something like this. Fortunately, dealing with a large number of enemies is right up my alley. Let's see how they handle ice cavalry." General Esdeath said while looking around the battlefield only to stop at Raiden
"Jack the Ripper, this is the chance for you to stop holding back and show me what you can do. Now is the time for you to prove yourself my equal. Before this day ends, one of us will be proven to be stronger." Esdeath thought to herself with a great deal of anticipation. At the inevitable confrontation against Raiden
"CHARGE!" Najenda yelled signaling the soldiers to fire their cannons at the walls of the Capital. As the cannons were being fired, a large number of the ice soldiers charged towards the Arm and the Rebels did the same.
Once the Rebels and ice soldiers came in contact with each other, the attacks started. A good number of the soldiers were able to destroy the ice soldiers. But the ice soldiers proved to be stronger than anticipated and were able to kill the rebels. Even though the rebels were well trained and coordinated. The ice soldiers weren't held back by physical limitations and were able to keep fighting despite the loss of an arm or leg.
Among the Rebel Army that were able to destroy the ice soldiers with ease are three individuals. The individuals are Tatsumi, Wolf, and Raiden and they are decimating the ice soldiers while advancing to the Capital. Wolf was in his Lycan form and he destroyed the ice soldiers with single slashes from his claws. Tatsumi was able to destroy groups of ice soldiers with single swipes of his spear. As for Raiden, he was destroying large number of ice soldiers in a blinding speed using his sword. Along with destroying the ice soldiers, the three individuals are also advancing towards Capital.
"Those three must be full of themselves if they think they can break through the army by themselves." Suzuka commented on the three
"No, their trying to challenge me, in that case I must meet them head on. Suzuka return to the Palace. I have a feeling that Najenda has a trick up her sleeves." General Esdeath said before she jumped down from the wall and made her way to the small group
The sadistic General was quickly making her way to the group of three with a murderous look in her eyes. The Rebels that saw her tried to attack her with the hopes to kill her. Unfortunately, the rebels were quickly dealt with and had been cut in half in a blinding speed by Esdeath. After a few seconds, Tatsumi, Raiden, and Wolf noticed the General and knew what to do. Raiden used his gauntlet teigu to generate electricity and managed to release a strong flash of light. Even though Esdeath was blinded by the flash, she didn't slow down and continued her pursuit. As she was continuing her pursuit, Esdeath eventually clashed blades with someone and she was excited at the chance of fighting someone strong. Once Esdeath's sights returned, she realized that she was clashing blades with Tatsumi. When Esdeath glanced to the side, she saw raiden run past her while Wolf was standing behind Tatsumi.
"I see, you all wanted to see which one I would go for. Fight Raiden alone, or an entire army. No matter what choice I would make, the Rebellion would still be able to advance in some form or fashion." Esdeath said to Tatsumi with an impressed smirk
"Since your still here, that means you've chosen to fight all of us Esdeath. I've gotten a lot stronger since the last time we met." Tatsumi told Esdeath in a bold tone
"Then let us see how strong you truly are. If I can't truly have you, then you shall die by my hands. I just know you'll present me with a truly incredible fight." Esdeath said before her and Tatsumi fought each other at an intense speed. While Wolf resumed fighting the ice soldiers.
(The Streets of the Capital)
Once the sounds of battle could be heard by the people of the Capital. Everyone nearby retreated to what they hope to be shelter from the battle that is waging. The only individuals that are walking the streets are hooded. But upon closer inspection, they individuals are Akame, Lubbock, Jade, and Leone. After a few more minutes have passed, the four cloaked individuals proceeded to go in the direction of the Palace.
"It sounds like the battle has started." Lubbock said voicing the situation
"Then that means its time for us to do our part." Leone said before her and the rest of the group remembered the discussion a few hours ago.
(A few hours earlier)
"In a few hours, the entirety of the Rebellion will be going to the Capital and once that happens. It will be an ongoing battle with everything on the line." Najenda told everyone
"I get the feeling that there's more to this boss. Are there any targets that has to be dealt with before the battle is over?" Raiden asked Najenda
"Yes Raiden, there are a few individuals has to be killed before they can even escape. Some of you will be leaving so you can successfully infiltrate the Capital. Once the battle has begun, the majority of the Empire's soldiers will be focused on the Rebellion. Giving the infiltration team a chance to get to the targets with little resistance." Najenda explained to the group with them nodding in understanding
"Esdeath has shown to be clever as she is destructive. Do you have a plan regarding her potential involvement?" Wolf asked Najenda
"Esdeath will more than likely oversee the battle due to her position as a General. So we need to put her in a situation where she has to make a choice. Staying in the Capital, or fighting on the battlefield itself." Najenda answered Wolf
"Sounds like you know who will be on the infiltration team and who will be on the battlefield." Leone said with Najenda agreeing
"Your right Leone, you, Lubbock, Jade, and Akame will be on the infiltration team. Since each of you are better suited for stealth, this will be better for your talents." Najenda told the four
"What about me boss?" Chelsea asked in a curious tone
"Chelsea, you will stay here with Hal and help him provide tactical support. You know the layout of the Capital and the Palace and we will still have our communicators. So if something happens we will keep each other up to date. Besides, Hal can't be expected to keep watch over Janey and Kurome." Najenda explained before she continued speaking
"Wolf, Tatsumi, and Raiden will be fighting on the fields with the Rebellion. Since each of you are better suited for direct battles. It's the perfect place for you all, especially in Raiden's case. Since seeing him will give the Rebellion a significant morale boost." Najenda explained to the three
"You mentioned Esdeath having to make a choice earlier boss. Is me being on the battlefield a major factor for that choice Boss?" Raiden asked Najenda
"It is Raiden, initially you and the others will fight on the battlefield and will eventually stand out to Esdeath. Not being able to resist a threat and a strong target, she will likely make her way to you three at some point. I want you to find a way to get the Capital and have Esdeath notice you. This will be the moment that the General will need to make a choice. She knows that you're the only one who stands a chance at killing her. So it goes without saying that she can't risk you roaming the Capital. If she pursues you to the Capital. It will be a chance for you to kill her and with the infiltration team being in the Capital already. It will no doubt make things easier for you." Najenda explained to Raiden the first scenario to the plan
"What if she doesn't pursue Raiden and chooses to stay on the Battlefield?" Akame asked Najenda
"Tatsumi has gotten significantly stronger as a warrior. So I fully believe that he'll be able to hold his own against the General. With Wolf and an army backing him up, Tatsumi shouldn't have too many problems fighting her. With Esdeath on the battlefield, it will give Raiden a chance to deal with some targets and troublesome people. Vamp and Yashan being among them." Najenda said explaining the second scenario of the plan
"Sounds good, either that General dies. Or I get the chance to kill that Prime Minister. I doubt Vamp and Yashan will stand by and do nothing. So we should all be prepared just in case." Raiden said with everyone agreeing
"What about the last syringe we have boss? Since the first one was used on Kurome, we now know for certain that it will work on Esdeath." Chelsea said causing Najenda to think for a moment before she spoke
"I've thought about that and I've come to a decision." Najenda said before she tossed the last syringe to Raiden
"Why are you giving this to me Boss?" Raiden asked in a curious tone
"I have good faith in your judgement Raiden. Since you're our best chance at turning the tides in this war. I think its only fitting that you're the one who decided how this syringe is used." Najenda told Raiden before she spoke to the infiltration team
"Before you all leave, I will give your assigned targets. If they escape before they die, then it will be a guaranteed defeat for us. Now let us all proceed for Night Raid's final mission and put an end to the corruption." Najenda said in a tone filled with resolve
"Akame, how are you doing with your new sword?" Raiden asked Akame before she left
"I've grown quite accustomed to it in the past few weeks Raiden. Thank you and I shall use it to the best of my skills." Akame said before she left with Najenda following her
"Please be careful Tatsumi." Chelsea told Tatsumi in a concerned tone
"Don't worry, I will for the both of us." Tatsumi said before he and Chelsea kissed each other
(Present moment)
"Esdeath didn't follow me, looks like its just us for a while." Raiden told the infiltration team over the communicator.
"Understood, lets go." Akame said before the group went forward. As they were going, they came across a group of soldiers. When the group were spotted, they charged with their spears
"Let me handle them." Akame said before she grabbed the sheath of Murasama and walked towards the guards. As she walked closer to the guards, she removed her robe and revealed that not only she has her new sword. But she is also wearing her exoskeleton suit.
When the guards got close, Akame pulled the trigger on the sheath and was able to draw the sword at a blinding speed. Before the sword was fully drawn, the nearby guards died in a small explosion of blood. With no drop of it reaching Akame as she was walking towards the remaining guards. Some of the guards got close to the assassin and tried to attack her. Though before the attack could reach her, she made a single swing and simply cut the guards in half. Killing the soldiers and destroying their weapons in the process. Once there were no more guards, Akame withdrew her sword and the infiltration team were impressed with what they saw.
"Wow, that sword Raiden gave you is much more powerful than your teigu was. It looks you've gotten an upgrade compared to your teigu Akame." Leon said in an impressed tone
"It's also crazy how similar in name your new sword is to the teigu. The only difference in spelling is that your teigu has the letter E at the end. Whereas your new sword has the letter A at the end instead." Lubbock said to Akame
"Just from those two swings, I could feel its immense power. We must be going everyone, we know who our targets are and they can't be given the chance to escape." Akame said before everyone left
(The Battlefield)
The battle has been waging on for almost an hour and the Rebellion is still going strong. Though there were some losses, the Rebels are still able to hold on strong and are slowly but surely getting closer to the Capital. When Najenda took a better look at the fight between Tatsumi and Wolf fighting Esdeath. She is glad that they are able to hold their own. But is also very cautious because of the level of strength that is being displayed.
"This isn't good, Esdeath is fighting us and not Raiden." One of the Rebel soldiers said to Najenda
"Not to worry, Tatsumi has been personally trained by Raiden and is able to match him in terms of strength. Also, the metallic beast is a personal ally and friend of Raiden's and is exceptionally capable. From what I've seen of their strength, I'm confident that those two are perfectly able to hold their own against Esdeath. As for Raiden being in the Capital, there are some significant threats in the Capital and Raiden plans to deal with them. If Raiden succeeds, then it will make this battle a lot easier." Najenda told the soldier much to his delight
"I see, then everything is going according to plan." The soldier said in a hopeful tone
"I wish I can share in your optimism. But the truth is that with Esdeath electing to stay on the battlefield. This puts us at a long-term disadvantage. Those two are able to hold their own against her, but the problem is that Esdeath has been given a significant boost in power thanks to the nanomachines. My original plan to deal with her has now become obsolete. Since she's here, time is a factor that is no longer on our side. Making things worse is that Esdeath probably has a trick or two up her sleeves that we need to be ready for. Raiden, deal with whoever you have to and return quickly. Because I have a feeling that things are going to get worse in this battle." Najenda said while watching the battle
Esdeath has spent a good deal of time fighting against both her beloved Tatsumi and Raiden's ally Wolf. As the two fighters are fighting against the General. She found herself amazed at how strong her current opponents are. For Tatsumi, she sees that not only has his armor gained a new form. But she also sees how much stronger and faster his attacks were compared to last time. For Raiden's metallic companion, she is amazed that a metal beast is as strong as an artificial teigu if not stronger. It's moments like these that makes the battlefield truly a delight for her.
After parrying another one of Tatsumi's attacks, Esdeath managed to kick him back. After Tatsumi was kicked back, he turned invisible and after doing so. Wolf charged forward and started to furiously attack Esdeath with his claws while in Lycan mode. The General found herself avoiding the attacks as much as possible and realized that she was moving away from him. After avoiding another attack, Esdeath delivered a strong blast of ice and hit Wolf while knocking him back a bit. After Wolf was knocked back, Esdeath moved her head and narrowly avoided a laser from Tatsumi.
Once Esdeath avoided the laser, Tatsumi started to aggressively attack the General. Instead of dodging, Esdeath found herself matching Tatsumi's attacks with her own and spent time doing it. After Esdeath blocked another one of Tatsumi's attacks. He fired another laser while she was so close. Reacting quickly, Esdeath was able to narrowly avoid the laser blast. But found her open to one of Tatsumi's attacks. Once Tatsumi was able to land an attack on the General, Wolf followed up by grabbing her by the arm and threw her to the side. The General was able to quickly recover and once she looked at the two, she began to smirk.
"It seems you've developed some interesting abilities my dear Tatsumi. Not only that, you've gained some powerful allies. I must admit, I was worried that you would have gotten weak during our time apart. But it seems that my concerns weren't warranted." Esdeath said proud of her earlier experience
"There's more where that came from Esdeath. I hope that you remember this day, because this will be your last!" Tatsumi stated to Esdeath while on guard
"Oh I don't doubt that my dear. But you know, if you were this strong a few months ago then it may have been possible for my life to be in danger. But instead, I am excited and with good reason too." Esdeath said before Tatsumi and Wolf shared a brief glance
"Thanks to the gift of Raiden's homeland I've gotten a stronger sword and nanomachines to make me stronger. Thanks in no small part to the nanomachines, I've developed a new ability as result." Esdeath said before she took a deep breath. After a brief second, the General was radiating with a good deal of power. Once Esdeath opened her eyes, she released a strong surge of power that was felt by everyone. When Tatsumi and Wolf looked at Esdeath's eyes. They saw that they were silver instead of blue.
"I call this the Frigid Form and I can assure you all that there is more to this than a different eye color." Esdeath calmly said before Wolf quickly ran to her side and tried to attack her.
Before Wolf got close, Esdeath grabbed Wolf by his neck in a blinding speed with relative ease. Before either Tatsumi or Wolf could retaliate, Esdeath made a smirk and instantly froze Wolf. After she did so, Esdeath made a powerful ice blast and sent Wolf back a far distance.
"Damn it, I'm remotely activating your heating functions early. Just try to hang in there Wolf." Hal told Wolf over CODEC
"That power, how can she be this strong?" Najenda thought while seeing Esdeath with a horrified look on her face
"All of you have shown great skill against my Ice Calvary. But let's see how you all can handle this." Esdeath said before she used a good deal of her strength and jumped into the air.
Once she was in the air, Esdeath started to gather some energy at several spots in the sky. After a few seconds, the entire Rebellion army saw several large balls of ice high in the air and they all shared a look of fear on their faces. Once the ice balls were seen, Esdeath proceeded to launch send them to the ground at an intense speed.
"A meteor shower of ice." Najenda muttered with a horrified look on her face.
When the ice meteor shower occurred, everyone tried to get away from the barrage of ice meteors before they landed. Once the ice meteors landed, there were large cold explosions that soon followed. Many of the rebels managed to get away from the ice meteors that landed. But many of them couldn't escape the explosion that followed and they found themselves dead or completely frozen solid.
Once Najenda looked around at the destruction, she saw that she severely yet unintentionally underestimated Esdeath and realized that she is much more dangerous than ever before. Before she could recover and try to figure out a plan. A single sword was pointed at her. When Najenda saw who it was, she saw that it was Esdeath standing above her.
"I always knew that you would be the one to stand in our way Esdeath." Najenda said to the General not showing a hint of fear
"The feeling is mutual Najenda, now let us see if you'll survive my attack this time." Esdeath said before she swung her sword to attack Najenda. Before the blade reached Najenda, Esdeath quickly jumped back and created an ice barrier to block a barrage of lasers that was aimed at her. After the lasers were blocked, Esdeath looked to see who fired at her and realized that it was Tatsumi. Though when the General saw Tatsumi, she sees that Tatsumi's armor has taken on a new form and looks much stronger.
"It appears that you still have a few tricks up your sleeves Tatsumi. Now let us se if you can hold your own against me." Esdeath said before her and Tatsumi started to fight against each other. The moment the both of them clashed, a large explosion was soon followed and the both of them were pushed back.
"Don't count me out yet Esdeath, I can still keep fighting you." Tatsumi said with his voice slightly distorted
"You won't be fighting her alone Tatsumi." Wolf said quickly getting Tatsumi's and Esdeath's attention. When they saw Wolf, they see that he has a different color and is cackling electricity. Though Wolf has a bulkier look than before, they know that the size won't slow him down.
"I'm glad I equipped the armor parts to you before you left Wolf. This is what I call the ARMR GEAR MK 1. You're a lot stronger, faster, and more durable than before and your claws generate heat." Hal told Wolf over CODEC
"We can still fight too." One of the rebels said while he was with other soldiers. When Esdeath took a closer look, she sees that they are all teigu users.
"Excellent, this is a good opportunity to see if you all hold up against my Frigid Form. Hopefully you will all serve as a proper warm-up until my clash against Raiden." Esdeath gleefully said
(The Palace)
While Raiden was making his way to the palace, he kept his CODEC activated and maintained full awareness of the situation. Once Raiden has been made aware of Esdeath fighting Tatsumi and Wolf. He was confident that they can hold their own. Though what shocked Raiden was the fact that Esdeath has a new form that grants her a power boost and it was enough for her to destroy a good portion of the Rebel army. Raiden is glad to know that his friends are still safe and sound. It doesn't change the fact that he's very much worried.
"Guy's I need to go back, Esdeath is a lot stronger and we don't know what her plan is." Raiden said before he made a turn to return to the battlefield. Only to be stopped by the voice of Akame
"Don't Raiden, you have to continue with the mission and deal with the targets." Akame told Raiden
"I can't just stand by and let that crazy bitch kill people easily." Raiden argued before Leone spoke up
"I know how you feel Raiden, but their trusting us to do our part. Remember, if our targets escape, then all of this will be for nothing. We all knew the risks and we've agreed to it anyway. Besides, we already made it to the Palace and started to kill some of our targets. It would be nothing short of a shame if you turned back after making it so far." Leone said over the communicator before Akame spoke up
"Raiden, I trusted you to find a way to save my sister and prevent her from being a threat. You have done so and I am proud of that. I joined Night Raid because I didn't want to lose anymore people important to me. Trust us and our skills Raiden, we will find a way to survive. We know the risks and we still have the resolve to see this mission through." Akame told Raiden causing him to think for a minute
"The moment things take a turn for the worse, I'm going back to help them. That's the only middle ground I'll meet with you guys." Raiden said before he continued within the Palace
"I understand Raiden, where are you right now?" Akame asked over the comm
"I'm in the Palace on my way to the throne room. The Emperor is proably there with the Prime Minister. If that's the case, then it'll give me a chance to kill Yashan and Vamp in one go." Raiden answered while still going
"Good, we've just got finished dealing with some of our targets. Looks like they decided to hide together which just made things easier for us." Lubbock said over the comm
"We just have a few people left, including that prick Syura." Jade said over the comm
"Then keep going everyone, I'm almost to the throne room." Raiden said before he cut off his CODEC
(The Throne Room)
Once Raiden made it to the Throne Room, he held up his sword ready and waiting for a possible attack. As Raiden was walking though the Throne Room, he was thinking back on his past experience when he snuck into the Throne Room when he first arrived. Raiden couldn't believe that so much time has passed since then and realized the many people Raiden has fought. Along with remembering his first trip to the Throne Room, he also remembered the promise he made to General Budo and knew that he had to uphold it. Once Raiden made it further to the Throne Room, he stopped reminiscing and resumed his mental guard for a threat. Once Raiden arrived at the throne, he saw a disgusting sight in the form of a man. Prime Minister Honest was sitting on the throne as if it had always belonged to him.
"The metallic freak Raiden." Prime Minister Honest said as he was looking at Raiden
"The sack of shit in the flesh. To be honest, I was hoping I would encounter someone else here. But seeing you here just saves me the trouble of looking for you. Now all I have to do is make sure you taste the sweet end of my sword." Raiden said before dashed towards the Prime Minister. Before Raiden got too close, he was pushed back by a barrier.
"A nice defensive measure in case certain people got any bright ideas." Prime Minister Honest said before he continued speaking
"Ever since you've arrived, you have been nothing but a major pain in my ass. You have destroyed a lot of the work I've done and made things much harder for me. You've made a fool out of me and turned many people against the Empire. My hatred for you knows know bounds and to be completely honest. Your more of a hindrance to me than Night Raid ever was." Prime Minister Honest told Raiden
"Well you're the most corrupt and manipulative bastard I've ever seen in my life. We both know that your manipulating the kid. So tell me, how did you get him to be so loyal to you? Or better yet, what happened to his parents? Did you poison them, or have them assassinated? Your too much of a bitch to do anything yourself, so you need to have a kid do your dirty work." Raiden told the Prime Minister
"Hehehehe, I merely did what I had to do against those that threatened my power. As long as the boy does what I tell him. Then I will make sure that he is very well taken care of. His parents were merely in the way so it was a necessary action. But just as I hate you, I should also thank you Raiden. You have brought to light an opportunity that will expand my power and ensures that I will live on for as long as I live. Once I've gotten all I need, then I will work to conquer your land." Prime Minister Honest told Raiden in a excited tone
"Not even trying to hide how much of a fucked up person you are. As for your plans for my home, World Marshal isn't stupid. They won't just stand by and let you do as you please." Raiden told the Prime Minister
"Then you underestimate my capabilities you metallic freak." Prime Minister Honest said before the entire Palace started to shake. Causing the Prime Minister to smile gleefully
"You see Raiden, the young Emperor is in the process of bringing out the Empire's trump card. This barrier was activated in response of that, so I decided to keep you here to ensure you don't interefere with his majesty. Now that preparations are almost complete, its time for me to get a good view of the events." Prime Minister Honest said before he left causing Raiden to attack the barrier but couldn't break it.
"SON OF A BITCH, I FELL FOR THE OLDEST TRICK IN THE BOOK!" Raiden angrily said
"Raiden, you wouldn't have been able to break through anyways and would just waste your strength." Hal told Raiden via CODEC
"Were you able to record the whole thing Otacon? I didn't know he would be there, but since your observing I figured that you might." Raiden asked Otacon
"I was able to record the whole thing Raiden. But given everything that's going on, I doubt anyone would care about a recording." Hal told Raiden
"Don't worry about that detail, but for now I need to get going. Whatever this Empire's trump card is, it doesn't sound good." Raiden said before the Palace shook even further
(Another location of the Palace)
After the infiltration group dealt with their targets, the Palace shook repeatedly. Initially, they all paid no mind to it, but after a while the shaking become more frequent and they all started to get cautious. Making things more worrisome is that they lost contact with the group on the battlefield and not knowing what's going on doesn't sit well for anyone.
"Everyone, something is going on with the Palace. I can't explain it, but it looks like the Empire has something up its sleeves." Leone said voicing her thoughts on the situation
"Jade, do you have any idea on what's going on?" Lubbock asked
"No I don't, when I served under General Budo we were never told of anything like this before." Jade said while the palace shook further
"Whatever is going on, I doubt our targets will want to stick around. I hate to suggest it, but we're going to need to split up. How many targets do we have left?" Leone asked
"Just three, Prime Minister Honest, Syura, and Saikyuu the one who established the assassination squad." Akame answered
"I'm surprised we haven't come across either Vamp or Yashan." Jade said causing the four to share a thoughtful look
"If we come across them while we split up, we're going to have to use our best judgement. Since there's four of us, we'll split in groups of three. Leone will go after the Prime Minister and back up Raiden. I will go after Saikyuu since I have a good idea on where he's at. Lubbock, you and Jade will go and deal with Syura." Akame told everyone
"Akame are you sure, you could encounter Vamp or Yashan at any moment?" Jade said in a concerned tone
"I'm certain Jade, with my new sword and exoskeleton suit. I'm certain that I'll be able to handle anything that comes my way." Akame said reassuring Jade
"Jade, Lubbock, we don't know what tricks Syura will try to pull. So you two must be careful as much as possible." Leone told the two
"Got it, normally I would try to argue against this. But I have a full idea of what your capable of. So you alone should be more than enough. But what about you Leone, your gong at the Prime Minister alone." Lubbock stated to Leone
"It won't take me too long to get to him. Besides, I'll likely come across Raiden and we'll work together." Leone said before the group started to split up
"Remember everyone, we just need to kill our targets. After that we return to the battlefield and help the rebels." Leone said with everyone nodding in agreement before they split up
(The Battlefield)
For a good deal of time after Esdeath used her Frigid form. Tatsumi, Wolf and their allies have fought against Esdeath valiantly. Unfortunately, as Esdeath had said earlier, there really is more to the form than just silver eyes and they all learned this the hard way. T teigu users who fought against Esdeath found themselves greatly beaten, frozen, or dead. The rebels that tried to help didn't fare much better either. Though the fight was admirable, against an empowered Esdeath it was pointless.
Tatsumi and Wolf did the best they could to fight against the sadistic General while she was empowered. Unfortunately for those two, Esdeath proved to be much stronger than any of them anticipated. Tatsumi spent a good deal of time defending against Esdeath's attacks. While Wolf attacked every time he saw an opening. Esdeath though managed to either block or deflect every attack that both Wolf and Tatsumi has made against her. Whenever Esdeath does make an attack, Tatsumi would have trouble blocking it and there were times when the empowered General would land a few hits.
"I didn't expect anyone to be able to hold their own against me and my new power. You truly are as strong as I could have hoped. But now let us see if you can keep this up when I stop playing around." Esdeath said before she started to radiate more energy. Before the General could do anything, a loud metallic noise could be heard. Once Esdeath heard the noise, she held a look of pure disappointment on her face
"Looks like you all held your own against me in my empowered form. Let us meet again on the battlefield soon." General Esdeath said before she retreated
"She's retreating, Esdeath is retreating." One of the rebel soldiers have said excitedly.
"Ground units, continue your advance towards the Capital. Support units, tend to our wounded." Najenda commanded everyone before she went to Tatsumi and Wolf
"How are your wounds Tatsumi?" Najenda asked in a concerned tone
"I should be asking you that boss." Tatsumi sid before he deactivated his teigu and revealed that his body has mutated much further than Najenda could have possibly expected.
"It looks like Esdeath is able to power herself up and become much more of a threat to us. Using my teigu like this is exhausting as it is painful to my body. But if it will allow me to fight her like this. Then I am prepared to do whatever it takes, its not fair for all of us to put our hopes on Raiden." Tatsumi said with a confident smile and look.
"We have lost contact with Raiden and the infiltration team due to Esdeath's earlier attack. It was fortunate that she was holding back, otherwise the outcome would not look favorable. But I must admit that all of this feels odd." Wolf said getting Tatsumi's and Najenda's attention
"What do you mean by this feeling odd Wolf?' Najenda asked in a concerned tone
"Esdeath knows as well as us that she was holding back. If she wanted to kill us she would have done so much sooner. Instead she settled for destroying a good portion of the Revolutionary Army. Also, there is no tactical advantage in retreating now. No matter the state of the Capital or the threat of Raiden. There would be no point in her retreating even now of all times." Wolf said causing Najenda to have a horrified look on her face
"That's right, she could have killed us much sooner if she wanted. So why would she hold back and retreat. Esdeath should know that there was no benefit in retreating better than any of us. So what could she be planning for us?" Najenda thought before one of the rebels shouted
"There's something strange in the Capital. Whatever it is its huge and is looking right at us." The Rebel scout shouted causing Najenda to look at the Capital and see the figure.
When everyone looked at the Capital, they all saw a large metal figure that is much bigger than the entire Capital. One look at the figure and it is clear that the large structure has immense power and is not to be trifled with under any circumstances. As Najenda looked at the figure, she figured out why Esdeath retreated. The reason was because the large force has set its sights on the Revolutionary army and casualties must be avoided.
(The Balcony of the Palace)
"HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA, now you rebel trash will finally get to witness what true power is. Since all of you can't appreciate the generosity of Empire and refuse to know your place. It is only fitting that you all die at the hands of the greatest weapon of the Empire. Because you all deny the security of the Empire, you will all see what hell truly is you rebel scum." Prime Minister Honest stated in a very proud tone
"Witness the Empire's trump card. The very origin and pinnacle of all forms of power, the supreme teigu Imperial Guardian: Shikoutazar." Prime Minister Honest proudly stated while looking at the massive teigu
When Raiden looked at the massive teigu, he had a shocked look on his face. Raiden has fought many threats in the past and these includes but are not limited to Metal Gears. But the massive threat that Raiden is seeing before him is greater than anything he's ever seen before. There is a part of him that wished Snake could give him some advice. But for now, he has to deal with the situation as best as he can.
"Its like I'm seeing Metal Gear EXCELSUS on fucking steroids." Raiden said before he started to think of a plan of attack against the massive threat.

Like Raiden going into his Jack the Ripper persona and Vamp going into his Dracul State. Esdeath has developed a super form as well called the Frigid State thanks to the nanomachines in her body. The only part of her appearance that changes is her eye color which will go from blue to silver while she's using her powered up state. Retreating to avoid casualties from the Supreme teigu is one of the reasons Esdeath retreated. The second reason is that she wants to avoid the risk of major drawbacks to the form since she developed not too long after getting nanomachines. She's also saving the form for Raiden since she sees him as a worthy opponent and threat.
One more thing, not only does Akame now own Jestream Sam's sword Murasama. But she is also wearing the exoskeleton suit that enhances her capabilities for the big battle of the Revolutionary Army. She just hasn't came across someone that would require her to use the exoskeleton suit's full enhancement functions.
Also, I have a good idea for how many chapters are left for the remainder of this story. But the numbers may change depending on how things go for the next chapter.

"Otacon, this armored warrior is different from that Bulat guy I fought a while ago. Do you have any info that could be useful?" Snake asked Otacon via CODEC
"His name is Tatsumi and he has the same teigu as Bulat. But the way he's using it is actually different from its previous owner." Otacon told Snke
"So even though he inherited the weapon from Bulat. I shouldn't expect a copy and paste fighting style." Snake told Otacon
"Your right Snake, from what I'm reading on the files. It looks like Tatsumi is actually stronger than Bulat was when it comes to the teigu. Making things worse, ever since Tatsumi claimed it, Incursio's other ability has been consistently activated." Otacon told Snake in a worried tone via CODEC
"Another ability, as if being invisible wasn't enough." Snake sarcastically said
"Ever since Tatsumi claimed Incursio, the teigu has evolved a couple of times to adapt to the current threat. The more fights Tatsumi has when he uses Incursio. The more the armor adepts and counters the threat." Otacon briefly explained to Snake in a worried tone
"So an almost indestructible armor, that can gain new abilities by adapting to the threat and eventually counter it. Sounds like this teigu is the golden ticket for the super-powered lottery." Snake told Otacon
"It does have some drawbacks Snake. Incursio is a major threat to its user the more it evolves. From what I'm seeing in the reports, Tatsumi's body has undergone a major mutation and it looks quite extensive. If this keeps up, he could turn into something else entirely." Otacon said to Snake in a worried tone via CODEC
"So the stronger it gets, the more self destructive it becomes. But the fact that the kid is willing to endure something so painful. Means that he's willing to power through the pain to get things done. Do you have any ideas on weaknesses Otacon?" Snake asked Otacon via CODEC
"As far as weakness, the only thing I can suggest is try to overpower him as much as possible and not give him the chance to adept. Even though the armor can adept, Tatsumi should still have some limits. Find those limits and you should be able to overpower him." Otacon suggested
"So my heavy weapons and explosives should do the trick. There's a part of me that wants run back and pilot a Metal Gear again. Just so I can have a shot at taking him down." Snake commented to Otacon
"I wouldn't recommend it Snake, if you were able to take down several Metal Gears. Then there's a good chance that the kid should be able to do so as well. Besides, you've fought against tanks, Metal Gears, even enhanced soldiers." Hal told Snake trying to encourage him
"Thanks for the pep talk Otacon, I guess I just have to adept and plan faster than he can and I have a shot at taking him down." Snake said before he proceeded to engage Tatsumi
(Reminisce 12 Loss)
"Hal, from the book that I've read. Its admittedly impressive that Snake was able to accomplish so many things against inhumane odds. But I'm curious about something, in war losses are inevitable. Has either you or Snake ever lost any comrades over the years?" Najenda asked Hal in a curious tone causing him to have a depressed look on his face
"We have lost some friends over the years boss. Some of them actually still bothers us to this day. For Snake he lost his old war buddy Gray Fox. From what I was told the both of them used to be allies. But several circumstances involving his mentor Big Boss caused Snake and Gray Fox to fight each other. Snake won but it was a bitter victory. Gray Fox was seen again in Shadow Moses Island but he wasn't the same. That is where he truly died, while trying to help Snake." Hal explained to Najenda
"I see, its tough to lose a comrade. Especially when they chose to be on the opposite side against you." Najenda told Hal
"As for me, I had a sister but that monster Vamp killed her. To this day remembering how Emma died still hurts me. Even more so knowing that Vamp is still alive while my sister is still dead. To make things worse, our relationship was very strained because of some things that happened a long time ago. She died before we even had a chance to truly reconcile. So when Raiden wanted me to help Akame with the situation with his sister. There was no way I could refuse." Hal said trying to hold back his tears at the thought of his sister
"Hal, I understand how you feel. We've lost allies during our work as Night Raid. Even though the majority of our work involves fighting against the corruption. Each of us still have blood on our hands. We've killed those who are involved in the corruption, but we've also killed those who are just doing as their told. Or people who don't know the full extent how corrupt their bosses were." Najenda explained to Hal before she continued explaining to him
"We knew full well that we could pay the price for the blood on our hands at any time. But we still do what we have to do. Because of our fight against the corruption and the jobs we've been assigned. When Tatsumi first joined us, he said that we're assassins of justice. But no matter how you dress it up, we're still committing murder. We can't even condemn the soldiers of the Empire because they have their own reasons for siding with them." Najenda explained further to Hal
"That sounds rough Najenda." Hal commented before Najenda explained further
"We've lost many people during our fight against the corrupt Empire. We've lost Sheele, Bulat, Mine, and Susanoo. Even though we're on the side of the Revolutionary Army. There will be no records of Night Raid or its members, so none of us will be remembered or be given a proper memorial by those we fight for. We all grieve in our own way Hal, so don't mistake our silence for us not caring about our lost comrades. None of us are heroes, but we stand by our actions." Najenda explained to Hal causing him to have a thoughtful look
"I can go on and on for days about how similar you and Snake are Najenda. Me and an old friend name Meryl made a similar statement about how Snake is a hero. But he quickly tells us that he no hero. He's just a guy who kills because of his orders. When things went wrong, a lot of people turned on him. But to be honest, some of us still believe in him. Because he stood for something that he truly believed in." Hal told Najenda in an impressed tone
"You know Hal, there is a part of me that would love to meet Solid Snake himself." Najenda said impressed by the tales of the veteran soldier once again
