It was two weeks through the pregnancy and already my bump was HUGE. Unfortunately, Carlisle couldn't see the gender of the child. Carlisle said the growth rate is unprecedented and I would most likely deliver within a few days.
Tiffany's POV:
As I walked into Billy Black's house (my father) I could see the instant worry and I saw Charlie in the house too...
"Tammy called, she's staying at the Cullens' for a bit, seems she caught some stomach bug and doesn't want me to get it." Charlie voiced. I realized at that moment what was actually wrong with her.
"She's sick?" I asked in concern. The anger soared through me. My father grabbed my wrist.
"Let it go." He whispered. I wrenched my wrist free and ran to the motorcycle I have, and I sped to the Cullens' place. I banged on the door and Carlisle answered.
"Tiffany."
"Just give it to me straight-"
"Tiffany? Is that you?" I heard Tammy's raspy voice say.
"She's here?"
"She arrived two weeks ago," Carlisle stated behind me.
I marched up the three flights of stairs until I got to her. When I got there, Rosalie was covering her. I tried getting closer but Rosalie growled.
"That's close enough dog." She and everyone else knew I was a werewolf, and she probably reacted like that because our kind are natural enemies.
"What's your problem?!" I barked.
"Rosalie, it's okay," Tammy spoke hoarsely behind her, and she moved to the side. I wasn't prepared for what I saw next...
Tammy was sat on the sofa with a blanket covering her chest and down. Her eyes and cheeks were sunken, as if she hadn't eaten a thing in around 2 weeks or something. There were dark circles under her eyes, most likely from sleep deprivation or maybe a lack of eating food. Sweat covered her face and made it glisten. She looked terribly malnourished. I had already guessed what was wrong with her.
"You look terrible." I joked.
"Good to see you too." Tammy giggled.
"So, are you gonna tell me what's wrong with you, or do I have to guess?"
"Rosalie, would you mind helping me up?" She grabbed onto Rosalie's hand and with Rosalie's help, she was up. That's when I saw it, the large bump that could only mean one thing. I saw a few bruises on her bump, possibly the baby did this by kicking. She quickly pulled her top down once she realized I had seen the bruises. The same anger surged through me.
"YOU DID THIS!" I yelled at Jasper.
"We didn't know it was even possible!" Carlisle voiced behind me.
"What is it?"
"We don't know," Carlisle replied as calmly as possible. "But it's growing fast." He continued.
"I can't see the fetus...and I can't see Tammy's future anymore..." Alice chimed in worriedly.
"If she wants to keep it, she can! It's nobody's decision but hers and Jasper's!" Rosalie yelled.
"This fighting isn't good for Tammy!" Esme yelled, somewhat calmly.
"The fetus isn't good for Tammy!" Alice yelled.
"Baby! It's just a little baby Alice!" Rosalie yelled louder.
"Possibly." Jasper chimed in slightly angrily.
Jasper's POV:
"Tiffany, can I talk to you?" I asked calmly.
As soon as we got outside, Tiffany began yelling at me shouting stuff like:
"How could you?! You monster!" and "You deserve to suffer!" She started yelling profanities at me.
"Tiffany calm down!" I yelled over her.
"Tiffany, I need to do something for me." She snickered and began walking away.
"For her." She knew right then that I was referring to Tammy because she stopped and turned on the balls of her feet.
"What?"
"I tried talking her out of keeping the baby because she'll die giving birth to it but she refused. Can you try?"
"Fine." She sauntered angrily back into the house and back to Tammy.
Tammy's POV:
As I sat back down onto the sofa, Tiffany came in, presumably after talking to Jasper.
"Rose, I'm fine. Really." After I said that, Rose left. "So, Jasper sent you in here to talk to me?"
"Sort of. Though I can't figure out why he thinks you'd listen to me. I mean, you never have before. Since when are you and blondie BFFs?"
"Rose understands what I want."
"What are you thinking, Tammy? Seriously."
"I know this seems like a scary thing, but it's not. It's like this miracle or something. I can feel him."
"So, it's a bouncing baby boy? I'm sorry I didn't know. Should've brought some blue balloons."
"It's just a guess. When I picture him, I see a boy? We'll see."
"You won't."
"Tiff, I can do this. I'm strong enough."
"Come on. You can spout that to your bloodsucker, but you don't fool me. I can see what that thing's doing to you. It's a killer, Tammy."
"You're wrong."
"And when you die, what was the point? Of me loving you, you loving him. How is that right for anyone? Because I sure don't see it. Listen to me, Tammy. Please? Just don't do this. Live, okay? Please."
"Tiff, everything's gonna be okay. Tiff, don't go."
"I know how this will end. And I'm not sticking around to watch."
For some reason, her last sentence hit me HARD like a ton of cinder blocks. I started to feel the way I felt when Tula left me, like someone had just ripped a gigantic hole in my chest, like my heart had basically been ripped out of my chest. Maybe it was just the mood swings from my pregnancy but I felt like it wasn't. Jasper sensed my sadness because he came barreling through the room at vampire speed.
"Are you okay?" Jasper asked, concerned.
"No, not really. Tiffany's last words just hit me hard."
"Why what did you say?" She asked, directing the question toward Tiffany.
"I just said: I know how this will end. And I'm not sticking around to watch." Jasper glared at Tiffany, if looks could kill Tiffany would be dead by now.
"I think it's best if you leave Tiffany." Jasper hissed to Tiffany through clenched teeth.
Tiffany's POV:
I stormed out of the Cullens' house and I went to get onto my motorcycle but instead, I just kicked it over in anger. I could feel my wolf form coming on so I ran into the forest and transformed. I howled making every other wolf in my pack surround me...except for Sam, he was probably the farthest away.
"Is it true, Tiff?" Paul asked.
"What will it be?" Quil questioned.
"It's growing fast!" Paul exclaimed.
"It's unnatural." Leah chimed in.
"Dangerous," Jared said.
"Monstrosity," Quil said.
"An abomination!" Paul chimed in again
"On our land!" Quil continued.
Everyone else starts to chant "We can't allow it!" To me over and over again.
By this time Sam had arrived.
"We have to protect the tribe. What they bred won't be able to control its thirst. Every human will be in danger." Sam yells over everyone.
"We're ready," Jared replies.
"No time to waste!" Leah exclaimed.
"Now?" I asked in disbelief.
"We must destroy it before it's born," Sam said coldly.
"You mean, kill Tammy?!" Seth asked in skepticism.
"Her decision affects us all," Sam replies to him.
"Tammy is human. Our protection applies to her." I screamed.
"She's dying anyway!" Leah snarled. After she said that I charged for her and we tussled for a bit.
"We have real enemies to fight tonight!" Sam yelled.
"Tonight?!" I asked with anger in my husky wolf voice. Sam growled and raised his head high, and uses his Alpha Voice.
"You will fight with us, Tiff."
Sam starts to snarl, forcing everyone in the pack to bow their heads in submission. I struggle as my head is forced to bow down to Sam.
I struggle with all my will, I thrust my head up though. "I... will... NOT! I am the granddaughter of Ephraim Black. I am the granddaughter of a CHIEF! I wasn't born to follow you, or anyone else!" I ran off, still in wolf form. I finally transformed back when I was by an old oak tree. Suddenly, Seth caught up with me.
"What are you doing here Seth?!" I bellowed.
"I left the pack."
"Go home, Seth."
"No! I won't stand behind you!"
"Oh, yes you will!"
"Is that an order? Are you gonna order me around like everyone else?"
"I'm not ordering anything."
"If Sam comes after Tammy, are you really ready to fight your own brothers? Your sister?"
"If it's the right thing to do."
"Whatever. I'm gonna go give the Cullens a heads up." I start walking towards the Cullens' House, Seth was following me.
"How cool is this? A two-person pack. Two against the world."
"You're getting on my nerves, Seth."
"Right. Shutting up. Can do."
Tammy's POV:
After Tiffany left, Jasper just sat with me laid on him while he held me in his strong arms. I could see how angry he was, and I could feel it because his grip on me tightened to the point where I couldn't breathe.
"Can't...breathe." I gasped for air as I said this which made my voice sound even more hoarse than it was. He instantaneously loosened his grip on me.
"Sorry, Tam!" He exclaimed in regret.
"It's fine," I muttered hoarsely as I looked up at him. Suddenly, I felt a stabbing pain in my ribs, like someone was poking a red-hot branding iron in my ribs. I moaned in pain.
"Tammy are you okay?!" Jas immediately asked in concern.
"N-No. M-My r-ribs hurt." I stammered still in pain.
"Carlisle!" Jas yelled. In a second, Carlisle was there at my side.
"She said her ribs hurt, and she feels pain, I can sense it."
"I'll get an x-ray ready!" Carlisle exclaimed. After Carlisle got the x-ray set up, Jasper carried me carefully to Carlisle's "medical room." He laid me on a bed and Carlisle x-rayed my ribs. It only took a minute for the results to come.
"Your rib is cracked, but there are no splinters. You haven't punctured anything." Carlisle said professionally
"Yet," Jasper remarked sarcastically.
"Jasper." Carlisle interrupted.
"It's breaking her bones now. It's crushing you from the inside out. Carlisle, tell her what you told me. Tell her." Jasper pressured.
"Carlisle, tell me. It's alright." I said barely audible
"The fetus isn't compatible with your body. It's too strong. It won't allow you to get the nutrition you need. It's starving you by the hour. I can't stop it and I can't slow it down. At this rate, your heart will give out before you can deliver."
"Then I'll hold on as long as I can and then-" I said confidently but getting cut off by Carlisle.
"Tammy. There are some conditions that even venom can't overcome. Do you understand? I'm sorry." Carlisle replied with sadness in his voice. Carlisle left, most likely to tell the others.
"Jasper, I'm sorry." I voiced apologetically after Carlisle left
"I can't live without you."
"I'm sorry Jazzy..."
"It's okay Tammy, it's not your fault.
Two Days Later:
Two days passed and Tiffany came back and stayed for quite a while. Suddenly, I started feeling cold.
"You cold?" Jasper asked innocently.
"I got it." Tiffany quickly stated as she wrapped her arms around me. She felt hot, it was a wolf thing. I smiled.
"Don't do that." She remarked.
"What?" I wondered.
"Smile like I'm your favorite person in the world."
"You're one of them. Everything feels complete when you're here Tiff." I could see Jasper's face change from neutral to pained. I held my hand out to where Jas was and he held onto my hand. I gave him a reassuring squeeze. And he instantly calmed down, and mouthed 'Thank You.' In which I mouthed a reply 'You're welcome.' Suddenly, I started feeling like I needed to throw up so Jasper quickly grabbed the bucket and put it in front of me.
"I need to tell you all something." Tiffany quickly voiced.
"What is it?" Carlisle questioned.
"Sam, the pack, they're gonna try and kill Tammy."
"What?!" Jasper exclaimed in disbelief.
"Sam's lost the element of surprise and he doesn't want to take you on outnumbered, so he's not gonna come at you head-on. He's got the place surrounded and he'll wait for his opportunity." She explained.
"We won't get through without a fight," Emmett replied confidently.
"No fights. We won't be the ones to break the treaty." Carlisle replied.
"The treaty is void, at least in Sam's mind," Tiffany explained again.
"Not in ours." Esme chimed in.
"Carlisle, no one's hunted for weeks," Emmett informed.
"We'll make do," Esme replied.
"You've done us a great service, Tiffany. Thank you." Carlisle stated in her direction.
