Kyandi: Greetings, my lovelies!
Roksana: We're back and, for some strange reason, Kyandi-sama is smiling at me in a very creepy sort of way.
Kyandi: That I am. I won't even deny it.
Roksana: Why are you smiling at me like that.
Kyandi: Hehe...you're going to find out.
Roksana: You just went from creepy to psycho.
Kyandi: Just wait. You're going to eat your words.
Roksana: Which ones?
Kyandi: You'll see. Everyone, enjoy and review.
Roksana: ...Kyandi-sama does not own Katekyo Hitman REBORN.
Chapter 56 Transfers
A few days later, while catching up on all the paperwork that Hibari had let build up for her, Roksana was taking over Hibari's desk in the Reception Room when the boy himself came back from patrolling the school grounds. He found her hard at work, the charm bracelet on her right wrist, jingling as she moved papers out of her way, never once glancing up at him. As he did every time he saw the charm bracelet, Hibari frowned.
She had recently added two new charms. One was a collective charm bought for her by Tsuna, Yamamoto, Gokudera and Ryohei. It was a little crescent moon that currently hung between the liger and cake pop charms. The second was a gift picked out for her by Haru, Kyoko, Bianchi, and I-pin, and took the shape of a phoenix.
Hibari swore, if he saw a charm pop up from Mukuro, he was going to lose it.
As it stood, he had a way to deal with his annoyance where that charm bracelet was concerned.
If only a little bit.
Entering the room, he shoved the door closed, drawing Roksana's attention up from her paperwork at the sound. She only looked at him for a moment before she turned back to her work, ready to be done with all the paperwork.
"Couldn't find anyone to beat up?" she asked, turning back to her work.
"No." Hibari replied.
"Too bad for you." was the idle reply he got back as he approached the desk.
Roksana scooted over when Hibari reached for a drawer to pull it open and dig inside it, clearing the way for him while continuing to do her work. She didn't even realize the little box he sat on the desk, she was so busy, until he took hold of her wrist. Roksana instantly stopped all moment, her eyes snapping up to him.
She had been very weary about any and all physical contact he made with her since he had bitten her upon her return to school. Having him touch her now, had her on high alert.
"What is it?" she asked.
Her apprehension turned to curiosity when she saw him fiddling with her charm bracelet, his attention very focused, like something was giving him a hard time. Anymore focused than he already was, and Roksana was sure that he would pop a blood vessel.
Or blow out his brain altogether.
"You better not be removing any of my charms." she told him.
Hibari didn't respond or even acknowledge her comment, just focused on her bracelet. Which only made her even more curious as to what he was doing. Then she heard a very low, soft click and Hibari's brow, which had been furrowed, relaxed. Seeming pleased with himself, he released her wrist. Roksana pulled her wrist back to herself, counting to make sure there were still six charms...and was shocked to find a seventh.
Holding her bracelet up to eye level, Roksana scanned the charms, finding the new addition. There, hanging between the horse from Dino and the liger from Xanxus, was a new charm shaped like a very familiar pair of animals.
"Is that Hibird and Roll?" Roksana asked, actually smiling as she looked at the tiny charm of the bird and hedgehog that were Hibari's companions.
Hibari didn't say anything, just waited to hear what she had to say about the charm. While she normally didn't like to validate his actions, whether they were good or bad, especially not in a positive light, because it gave him an even bigger ego than he already had, she supposed she could make the exception just this once.
Just once.
"I love it. Though, I never took you as the type to have to need to be represented on something as superficial as a charm bracelet." she remarked, turning back to her work.
She really didn't think he would feel the need because, one, he was constantly biting her now, leaving marks visible to others, and, two, he was the only person to ever give her a necklace that she wore everyday. Though, to be honest, he didn't know about the latter despite all the time he had bitten her on the neck.
And she wasn't going to tell him, either.
Instead of saying anything in reply to her comment, Hibari perched himself in the window sill behind her, watching the court yard below while Roksana continued her work. They fell into an easy silence, Roksana working her way through another stack of papers. It was then that Roksana came across some documents that made her paused.
"Huh...we're getting seven transfer students?" Roksana asked.
She heard Hibari get to his feet before he was leaning over her shoulder, peering down at the papers in her hands. Roksana turned the paper so that he could see it too. Both of them read the paper detailing the transfer of seven students from a Shimon Middle School. Apparently, earthquakes had been terrorizing the school, sending the students fleeing, and seven of them, were to end up at Nami Jr. High.
Seven.
After facing so many issues revolving around groups of seven in the future, Roksana had grown quite weary of the number. Seeing a group of seven students coming to their school from the same place...Roksana had an uneasy feeling in the pit of her stomach. She wasn't sure what could possibly go wrong with these transfers, but she had learned to never underestimate anything.
Weird things just kept happening around her.
She was just going to have to keep an eye on these seven.
One never knew what could come around the corner.

A few days later, Tsuna was sent rushing out of his house, already late for day duty at school. He, like everyone else at school, had heard about the new transfer students, Roksana telling her group of friends about them over dinner one night. On the way to school, Tsuna spotted the transfers, but decided against greeting them.
Of course, he didn't have long to dwell on thoughts of the transfers when Reborn showed up to tell him that Timoteo had sent a message, notifying them that they would be holding the Inheritance Ceremony to pass the Vongola over from Timoteo to Tsuna. Tsuna freaked out when Reborn told him that mafia from the world over would be gathering in Namimori for the ceremony.
Tsuna rushed to school in order to tell the others. Roksana wasn't in class, though, since coming home from Italy, she hadn't been all that much. She was too busy catching up on paperwork for the Disciplinary Committee while doing all her backed up homework in the Reception Room while she worked.
How the girl managed to catch up on all her work and maintain high grades after being gone for a month, Tsuna didn't know.
Though, he was pretty sure Dimitri had probably gotten her a tutor to help.
As class started, they were introduced to the two transfer students that would be in their class.
One was a girl with the weirdest sense in fashion any of them had ever seen. She walked into the room wearing a star dusted body suit with fur on the hood, huge sunglasses and what looked like pool floats around her. She introduced herself as Shitt P. but asked the class to call her Shitopi-chan. Gokudera was instantly convinced that Shitt P. was an alien or some kind of U.M.A.
The other transfer student, didn't make quite the impact that Shitt P. did, but he still made an impact. He was a mousy, short boy with red hair and eyes and bandages and bruises all over his face. He couldn't meet anyone's eyes and spoke so quietly that no one could really hear him when he introduced himself as Kozato Enma. After twice of having to be asked to repeat himself and speak up, Enma just fell silent, a gloomy air about him.
Everyone in the class as sure he was the type to get beaten up and bullied a lot. Which only reminded Tsuna of himself before Reborn showed up and his friends joined him. That day, after school, it was proven right when Tsuna came across Enma being beaten up by some local high school thugs. After being forced to come to Enma's rescue by Reborn, Tsuna got beat up along side Enma. When Tsuna helped Enma to gather his books, the strangest of things happened when their hands touched.
Tsuna's Vongola ring reacted.
Leaving Tsuna confused, Enma gathered his things and left.
It was the next afternoon, at lunch, that Roksana met the new transfers. That is, after the group's oldest girl, Suzuki Adelheid, challenged Hibari for the Reception Room, insisting that she would be claiming it for her Liquidation Committee. The whole thing lead to a fight between the two, all members of both groups, save for Roksana, who was busy dealing with another issue, gathering around the two on the roof. It was there that Reborn revealed that all of the new transfers, were part of a small mafia family; The Simon Family.
A fact that Tsuna revealed to Roksana later that day when he saw her in-between classes, the girl just finally getting close to catching up on everything where she could return to class.
At lunch, Roksana decided to join her friends outside for lunch and went in search of them. It was then that she came across some thugs in the uniforms of a high school that rivaled Nami Jr. High's high school division. They were picking on Enma in the back court yard. Enma's friends had just showed up and were coming to help him when Roksana, herself, decided to act.
Everyone came to a complete stand still with a foot suddenly came flying out of nowhere to slam one high schooler's head into a tree. As the foot retreated, the high schooler slid to the ground, out cold and nose bleeding.
Turning, eyes traveled up over the heeled, black, knee-high boots, the blood red, thigh-high stockings with ribbons hanging from the hems, the school issued skirt shortened to make it easier to reach the sansetsukon strapped to her left thigh, the white dress shirt worn unbuttoned and tied just under her breasts over a black tank top with a Disciplinary Committee armband pinned on the left arm, the school issued bow tied around her neck, the bow tied to the left side of her slim throat, up over the lollipop stick poking out between full lips, the silver-blonde pigtails, and the two toned eyes that were filled with annoyance.
When the high schoolers' eyes landed on Roksana, seeing the signature committee armband, two-toned eyes, silver-blonde pigtails, and lollipop, they knew exactly who she was. It was a group that Roksana had dealt with before, so they knew what to expect if they decided to continue causing problems. Bracing her right hand on her hip, her left hand coming to rest on the sansetsukon strapped to her thigh, Roksana fixed her eyes on the high school boys before her.
"I do believe we've been through you bothering Nami Jr. High students before, haven't we? This is our newest transfers student." Roksana told them as Enma's friends joined Enma. "So, boys, you have one of two choices, here. Either you can stand there and take your punishment like men, or you can run and prolong your existence for however long it takes me to find you. Which will it be?"
Almost instantly, the boys grabbed their downed friend and made a run for it, dragging him behind them. Roksana, both hands now braced on her hips, turned to watch them, heaving a huff.
"Willows!" Roksana called after them before turning to look down at Enma. "Sorry about that. That particular group of high schoolers aren't the brightest. No matter how many times they get the lesson beaten into their skulls, they never learn. If they bother you again, just let a member of the Disciplinary Committee know. I'll have them keep an eye out for those trouble makers from now on."
"It's fine." Enma replied lowly.
"You're the new transfers, I see. I'm Volkov Roksana. I'm the Disciplinary Committee's vice-chairman. I heard one of you had a run-in with our chairman this morning over the rights to the Reception Room. Is that right?" Roksana asked.
"Yes. That would be me." Adelheid told her.
"I would apologize for Hibari's behavior, but, with Hibari, if I apologize every time he acted so boorishly, or, let's face it...like himself, I'd spend the rest of my life apologizing for that man, and that's not going to happen. I refuse to be that woman that spends all of her time apologizing for the men in her life." Roksana told her, giving a shake of her head. "I heard your..."dispute" was interrupted before a clear victor could be decided?"
"That's right." Adelheid replied.
"Sounds about right. We try to keep Hibari from fighting with other students as much as we can. Well...fighting with any other student but me. Though, even if you had won, it wouldn't have mattered. Hibari doesn't have the power to grant or change claims over clubrooms. That power lies with the vice-chairman of the committee. In other words...I decide what committees and clubs get what rooms." Roksana admitted. "Sorry, but I'm not about reassign the Reception Room. As amusing as it would be to watch Hibari absolutely lose it if I did, I would much rather deal with an unhappy student, than an unhappy Hibari. I'm getting rather tired of him literally biting me when he's displeased."
"You mean he actually bites people!?"
This came from the transfer student in Ryohei's class, Aoba Kouyou, and had Roksana letting out a curt laugh.
"No. Unfortunately, that little "honor" falls to me alone. He's a real brute about it, too." Roksana said, pulling her shirt collar to side to show the fading bite mark and bruise on her shoulder from where Hibari bit her over her charm bracelet.
"Sounds like he's jea-"
"No offense, but say the word "jealous" and I will kick you in the face." Roksana said, cutting Kouyou off. "That is not the type of relationship we have. Period."
Roksana turned to Enma then, bending to offer him a hand up. Enma thanked her, reaching out to take her hand. The moment the two clasped hands, Roksana was nearly blinded as the heirloom ring her mother had given, which she had taken to wearing on her right hand between Belyy and Notte's ring forms, burst to life with a flame Roksana had never seen before. Something tucked under Enma's shirt, reacted to it, the glowing of a flame under his shirt outlining the shape of two objects hanging from a chain around his neck.
Roksana yanked Enma to his feet and instantly let go of his hand, holding her hand up in front of her to peer at the flame now surrounding her mother's ring. It gave Enma and his friends the chance to see the ring clearly. The flame was close in color to her Sky flame, but this flame was y-shaped and was more of a reddish-brown color with a yellow core. It definitely didn't feel like her Sky flame and for sure didn't feel like her Moon flame.
"What the...I've never seen a flame like this before..." she muttered to herself as the flame died out, vanishing completely. When it was gone, Roksana's eyes snapped to Enma and his friends, all of who were staring at her with shock. Her eyes narrowed as she started at them, one side of her mouth twisting up in a purely weary look. "You...what was-"
"Roksana!" Roksana cut off, turning as Yamamoto's voice suddenly reached her. The boy stood at the path leading around to the front of the school, waving to her, a big grin on his face. "We're going to eat in the front court yard! Come on!"
"Coming!" Roksana called back before turning back to look at Enma and his group. There was a suspicious look on her face now, the girl's instincts throwing up a red flag. They could see the suspicion in her eyes as she looked at them. Instead of saying anything though, she gave them a bow of the head. "If you'll excuse me. Enjoy your lunch."
They watched as Roksana turned on her heel and took off, hurrying over to Yamamoto, throwing just one last weary look over her shoulder as she went. It was only when the two were gone from sight that any of them said anything.
"Was that...?" Kouyou asked.
"Yes, it was. Figures we would find it here, and she's a Vongola guardian, no less. Had the Vongola Ring of the Moon on her left hand." Adelheid replied.
"What should we do?" asked Ooyama Rauji, the large boy still staring at the direction Roksana had vanished in.
"For now, we just watch. Right, Enma?" Adelheid asked.
"Yeah." Enma agreed.
Watch and wait.

Roksana was able to return to classes as normal the following day, where she found out that Tsuna and Enma had been attacked by an assassin out to kill Tsuna before the Inheritance Ceremony. Because of that, Roksana, along with every guardian from both the Vongola Tenth family and the Simon Tenth family, were requested to gather at a local burger joint, Nammy's.
Gokudera got annoyed when the only ones two show up, were him, Tsuna, Yamamoto, Ryohei, Enma, Adelheid, Kouyou, Mizuno Kaoru, and Ooyama.
"What the hell!? Why isn't everyone of Vongola and Simon here?!" Gokudera demanded, drawing attention to himself when he stood and yelled this.
"W-well...it can't be helped, Gokudera-kun. Hibari-san doesn't like crowds, and Lambo went out to play." Tsuna told him, getting him to sit back down.
"We called Chrome in Kokuyou Land, but Jyoushima Ken hung up on us. Roksana said she'd be by in a little bit. She's cleaning up a mess that Hibari made when he got angry with one of the clubs." Yamamoto added. "She said she'd be here as soon as possible."
"We tried to call out all our members too. But Katou Julie is out right now, and Shitt P. is busy meditating." Adelheid told them.
"Wha!? Meditating? Her?! So she communicates with the depths of the earth around this time of day." Gokudera said, writing it down.
"You're still going on about that!?" Tsuna exclaimed. "B-by the way, Gokudera-kun...didn't you have something you wanted to say to all of us?"
"Yes!" Gokudera said, flying to his feet once more and clearing his throat. "Today, you were attacked by some mafia punks that want to interfere with our ceremony. There's no guarantee that it won't happen again. That's where Vongola and Simon need to come together and protect the Tenth, along with this area!"
"Huh?!" Tsuna gasped.
"What?" Kouyou asked.
"I discovered that both families' members' area of expertise are well divided. So we should form teams between members that share areas of expertise, in order to protect Tenth!" Gokudera said, showing them the paper he had drawn up. "Firstly, the sports freaks, Yamamoto Takeshi and Mizuno Kaoru. In the third year's building, there's Hibari Kyoya, Suzuki Adelheid, Sasagawa Ryohei, and Aoba Kouyou. In Namimori Park, there's Lambo and Ooyama Rauji. And in other areas near Kokuyou, there's Chrome Dokuro and Katou Julie. Of course, the one to protect Tenth's classroom will be me and Shitt P.! And lastly, thought I doubt he'd be of much help, there's Kozato Enma. We also have Volkov Roksana, who's here, there, and everywhere. She'll go between the groups, though, she'll probably be found around Hibari the most." Gokudera told them.
"Who will be found around Hibari?"
All of them looked up, finding the speaking person standing at the end of the table. Roksana stood there, lollipop stuck in her mouth and her head tilted to the side in a questioning look.
"Roksana!" Tsuna greeted as they all looked at the girl.
"We were talking about assignments for protecting Tenth!" Gokudera told her.
"Right, Reborn said he had been attacked earlier, but from what Reborn told me...it doesn't sound like Tsuna needs the extensive guarding you're suggesting." Roksana remarked. "He defended himself pretty well."
"You never know what could happen!" Gokudera replied.
"Actually, I think, out of all of us, I'd have the most experience with this kind of thing, don't you think, Hayato? Or have you forgotten all the attempts on my own life?" Roksana retorted.
"Oh...right." Gokudera sank back down into his seat.
"I'm pretty sure that Tsuna can fight off any assassins someone might send after him. That being said, I'm, by far, the most paranoid and suspicious of us all, so I'm going to agree to this. Especially after the last year and a half we've had." Roksana added before turning her eyes to Simon family members. "Sorry, I'm afraid I didn't get your names the last time I saw you. Like I said, I'm Volkov Roksana. Just calling me Roksana, no honorifics, is fine."
Adelheid introduced herself and the others sitting with her.
"And this is Kozato Enma. He's in your class, I believe." Adelheid said, finally reaching Enma who was sitting to her right.
When she said Enma's name, Roksana's brows furrowed, the girl's eyes going to Enma. Unlike most people who flinched when her eyes suddenly, and sharply, shifted to them, Enma actually met her eyes, confused by the expression on her face.
"Kozato?" Roksana asked.
"Yes." Enma replied.
"Is something wrong, Roksana?" Yamamoto asked.
"It's just...that name sounds familiar. Like I've heard it before." Roksana said lowly, her eyes remaining on Enma. Adelheid and her companions looked from Enma to Roksana, but Roksana merely shook her head and turned her attention to Gokudera. "No, it doesn't matter. Anyway...I'm sorry, but I can't stay. As the only Moon Guardian in the Vongola since the first one, Reborn has me acting like the glorified welcoming party for some of the guests coming for the ceremony."
They could tell just from looking at her face, that it wasn't a role that she really wanted.
"Why don't you just tell Reborn you don't want to do it?" Tsuna asked.
"Because it was really the Ninth's request, and I actually like that man. Apparently, he thinks it looks good for the family to have the rare and elusive Moon Guardian play nice." Roksana replied.
"You can play nice?" Gokudera asked.
"Hayato, if you ever want a girlfriend, you might want to learn what comments are best kept to yourself." Roksana told him, Gokudera frowning in reply. "All of this aside, just text me with whatever all of you decide on. Oh! And remember, Dimitri invited you guys over for dinner tomorrow."
"You sure you can't stay?" Tsuna asked.
"Yeah, sorry. I'll talk to you guys later." Roksana told them, turning to Enma and his friends, giving them a bow of her head. "It was good seeing you again."
Roksana bid them all goodbye, leaving as quickly as she came. The moment she stepped outside the doors, though, she pulled her cellphone from her pocket and dialed a number. When the line picked up, Roksana spoke quickly as she headed off down the road.
"Dimitri? Yeah, there's something I need you to do." Roksana told her butler as she hurried along the sidewalk. "I need you to get your hands on my mother's family registry."
It looked like Roksana had some research of her own that she needed to do.
END
Roksana: Oh...my...God...NO!
Kyandi: Yes! Eat your words, Roksana!
Roksana: NO! You knew the who time that there were other types of flames and you let me make that bet!?
Kyandi: I sure as hell did! So, guess what you're going to be doing soon.
Roksana: No! Why should I be the one to admit anything? Why not him!?
Kyandi: Just because you admit it to yourself or someone else, doesn't mean you're confessing love to him.
Roksana: I do not lov-
Kyandi: Save your breath. Remember, I made you. I'm well aware of how you feel for Hibari.
Roksana: This sucks!
Kyandi: You're the one that made the bet, so deal with it. Everyone, please enjoy and review!
Roksana: Unfortunately, we'll be back tomorrow.
Kyandi: Bye-bye!
