This probably won't go on for another 24 chapters after the next, but we'll see what we can do. We even reached 2000 favorites. Anyway, enjoy the words. Let's try to get more views for this story.
- Side Story: Full Gauntlet Spider Part 1 -
One afternoon on one of July's Thursdays, Izuku and Momo can be found walking down the hall hand in hand. Dressed in their heroic gear, the two stop just before the iron wall door that leads to the Support Course's Development room.
Izuku, looking up at it, asks, "What do you think she wants to discuss?"
"It's hard to tell," says Momo with her arms crossed. "I hope it's not about that."
"Hmm?" With no intention of answering him, she opens the door to the student workshop.
Of course, as she reaches for the door, now becomes the perfect opportunity for Izuku's spider-sense to kick start. He moves quickly grabbing hold of his girlfriend in bridal style and jumping to his left. In that instance, the door explodes outward, slamming against the wall where they once stood.
While the rich girl remains in shock, the spider boy turns his head over slowly to face the person responsible for that sudden destruction. Stepping out into the clearing smoke, assisted by her many coughs, is Mei Hatsume. "Wipeout!"
"Hatsume," says Izuku, patting his head with a sigh. He turns to Momo, asking, "Are you okay?"
"Yes," she coughs, "of course I am."
"What brings you here, mister troublemaker?" asks Hatsume as Izuku steps inside with his girlfriend.
"Aren't you also a troublemaker?" The pink-haired girl shrinks looking back at her teacher, flinching seeing his angry face.
Stepping away from that minefield, Izuku and Momo go further into the room. Up ahead at a table, Melissa Shield can be seen waving to them to come closer. "Welcome, Deku and Momo!"
"Melissa," the couple wave to the inventor as they approach her and her work station. Seeing her, Momo narrows her vision and asks, "Why are you wearing that mask?"
Pointing at her mouth at the cover over her nose and mouth, the blond says, "It's just for Izuku. The pheromones are getting stronger."
The brunette nods in agreement; that must be why Izuku's still wearing the mask.
Once that's done with, Melissa takes out a briefcase and opens it before them, showing a small red wristwatch of an item situated in its center. It looks to be two rectangles placed together adjacent, with a blue smaller one in between them. "See this?" she says, taking up the item.
"… a watch?" asks Momo touching the item.
"Nope!" Melissa takes Izuku's right arm and places the item on top of his wrist just like a watch. She then presses the blue button, causing light to release from the object. Red pieces fly out from the item and spread across the limb of the spider boy stopping past his knuckles and the elbow of his arm. The armor looks like the wraps boxers wear on their arms.
"Whoa!" Izuku looks in awe at the amazing invention on his arm. He flexes his limb and throws a punch.
Momo examines the armor as well. "This is…"
"Something I made a while ago." Melissa takes the padded arm. "So you know, Uncle Might has done a lot of fighting, and often I would see him hurt. That inspired me to make this, the Full Gauntlet."
"Full Gauntlet?" Izuku repeats this in English. "So, this would work for him?"
"Realistically," she begins, "this can resist his full strength three times. It also pads the inside protecting the user from breaking themselves when in use."
At that, those green eyebrows of his rise into mountains. His eyes sparkle in awe. "Oh?! You mean I could fight at full strength wearing this?!"
"Exactly!"
"Wow!" Ecstatic, Izuku smiles at the implication. With this, he can use One for All on himself without having to worry about breaking bones or anything. Maybe they can adjust it so it prevents him from having heart problems.
Momo looks back and forth between the two. For some reason, she feels jealous believing she knows more than she lets on. Does she know about One for All?
Izuku presses the button to deactivate the gauntlet. "So, are you giving this to me?"
"Not really. The plan is to make the Full Gauntlet the base for the armor you wanted, but…" A finger curls her hair Nejire style. "That's as far as it'll stretch."
"It is?"
Melissa removes the wristwatch and shows it off turning it back and forth. "The Full Gauntlet is composed of nanotechnology allowing it to be stored for easy carriage. I can make more, but the material that allows it to brace the user is limited in quantities. Not to mention, I'd rather upgrade it to a stronger metal. But then I'd have to reprogram them from scratch."
"Is it that hard to rebuild?"
"The difficulty isn't the problem." She turns to Momo. "I just need the materials to create a full gauntlet that can spread to your entire body."
"Oh, I see…" Momo instantly states, adjusting her clothes. From her abdomen expunges a sphere of steel the size of a honeydew melon. She then presents it to Melissa.
Eyes on it, Melissa says in shock, "Oscillite?!"
"I can make Oscillite with my Quirk." Momo then showcases her arm gauntlet and the shield attached. "It's in all of my weaponry now."
"Wow!" Melissa takes the metal ball before testing her knuckles against it. "We need to spend time together on this, all three of us."
"Wait, me too?" asks Izuku.
"This is for you, so you need to put in the help too."
Chapter 47: Die Geisterspinne
September 24, 10:00 am…
Unimaginable pain squirms within his restless form. No sense or feeling of calm as he breaches the depths of darkness to reach the light of the living. After for who knows how long, Izuku Midoriya is waking up from the devastation he suffered.
Looking around, our emerald protagonist sees that he is lying on top of a table face up. He can see up above the light of the sky vaguely filtered by the ceiling made of glass, gray, and green. He leans up from where he sits and immediately feels something moving inside of him when it shouldn't. Crying out he grabs his ribs.
"Try not to move so much, Deku." A new voice catches his attention. He quickly turns around to see her sitting in a chair to his left holding a box full of medical supplies.
"You…"
"It's Ghost-Spider," she replies, closing the box up. "You were lucky I was able to follow those two. Your identity would have been exposed otherwise to the entire world."
"My identity?" Placing a hand to his face, he finds that the mask has left his possession. Not only that, but his suit's also gone too. He's left in just his underwear. "My clothes!"
"They're over there." Ghost Spider points over to a cabinet. "The ethyl chloride was still on it so I had to clean them."
Getting up, Izuku moves softly to the cabinet to grab his clothes resting on top of them. Ordinarily, he would feel extremely embarrassed about being half-naked in front of a girl. But – and while he's still rather shy – he's used to the advances Momo and Melissa have thrown his way. Not to mention, at the moment, that's the last thing on his mind.
He picks up his suit, groaning at the damage done to them from his latest villain run in. There are rips from Hitomi's tentacles, splatters of his blood dried up on the blue, and burn marks from the electric shocks. His mask has also seen better days; the lenses are cracked, it also sports a rip, and it possesses most of his dried up blood.
'It's amazing I lived through that.' Thought in mind, Izuku turns around to face his savior. "Ghost-Spider, why did you save me?"
He can't exactly tell, but she seems rather distraught. "I just wanted to. For me to live, I need your DNA. Or else the spider venom inside of me will kill me."
A true answer, but not one he was hoping for. "Was that the only reason?"
She remains still, staring at him with those white lenses of hers that seem rather cartoonish. "I would be lying if I said otherwise, Izuku."
"Then, why else did you save me?"
The Ghost Spider rises from her seat and walks to Izuku. Sighing a lifetime's worth through her mask, the lady in white reaches up and grabs hold of her mask. With a light pull, the mask rises over her face slowly. Once fully removed, the ghost's true face is fully revealed as a fairly attractive - cute even - girl with rosy cheeks. Her chestnut brown hair with matching eyes freezes Izuku.
Gasps escape his throat. His eyes widen far more than usual. Dropping down onto his behind he drops his mask. His heartbeat catches him off guard. "OCHAKO?!"
"We made a promise."
Staring before him, the boy remains in disbelief. Here he stands, aching beyond all belief, and before him is the girl that has kickstarted his career as a vigilante. As much as he wants to hug her, recent developments are bringing up skepticism. Can he be sure that she's the true blue?
Stepping forward, he asks, "Is that you, for real, Ochako?"
"Deku?"
"I'm not hallucinating because of the ethyl chloride, right?" he asks next in his mumbling tone, staring down at his hands now. "Or, maybe you're that shapeshifter that appeared to me before? Maybe I'm dead and meeting you at limbo."
"Oh, Deku," she mumbles, shaking her head in disbelief. He has not changed much since their first meeting, still an overthinker. Then again, that's probably why he ended up in this situation in the first place. "I can assure you you're not dead. The pain from yesterday is still real on you."
Ochako then walks forward placing a hand on his face. While he accepts it, his face still shows him on guard. Yet she can tell he's desperate to know if this is true. "Do you remember when we met up the day before my death?"
Taking a quick second to think back, Izuku says, "That was when we started training our Quirks and abilities together…"
She nods. "Do you remember what we talked about?"
"Yes, we were talking about our goals."
"And then you asked me why I wanted to be a hero, and I said I wanted to make enough money to give my parents a better life-"
"A better life." He matches her word for word, his eyes widening as the tears resume flooding. They splash out hitting her in the face. "IT IS YOU!"
"Yes!" The two embrace, hugging one another as friends who have not seen each other in such a long time.
"Ochako, I'm sorry!" he cries, dampening her shoulder his head rests upon. "I'm so sorry! I've wanted to say that for so long, and… and now I can!"
"I know you did…" she replies, her eyes also becoming a free flood cascade. Her arms push him away as she speaks. "I never wanted us to end up like this. It's my fault you became a vigilante, but it's not your fault I became this."
"What happened? Why are you working for them?"
"It wasn't my first option…" Ochako breaks free from his warmth to sit on the table. "That night, my parents and I were walking down the streets. My dad got a new contract with Astro Corp and we were out celebrating."
Izuku takes a seat next to her, his eyes and ears in her possession. "We were leaving the restaurant, and then he appeared."
"Akaigan Ken…" Izuku mutters, already knowing who was responsible.
She agrees wordlessly. "He was running. Desperate. He needed a ride, and tried to steal our car." The girl shakes as she remembers that night. Her canines bite on her bottom lip as she recalls the screams.
'Give me the car!'
'You won't get away with this. The heroes will get you for this!'
'Arrogant old man! If you're gonna be this defiant then why stop here?!'
'Daddy!'
BANG.
"The gun was aimed at my dad. I… I made myself lighter and pushed him out of the way." She palms the top of her left breast. "I don't remember much after that. I think I was taken to Jaku Hospital, and I met him."
"Him?"
Elsewhere…
As Izuku and Ochako are catching up, the same time elsewhere in the city has Momo, Melissa, and Shino walking down the streets. Unlike before where they held their hero costumes, they each have on less than inconspicuous outfits.
Momo wears a pink dress with a top held up by a strap around her neck. She has a strap around her waist with a large ribbon, also pink. Over her eyes are the blue light lens glasses Melissa gave her and a golden necklace over her partially visible cleavage. She carries a satchel, red, and black high heels for the rest of the outfit.
Melissa wears a bright blue dress nigella dress with a fluff on the shoulders. Her platinum blond hair shines dropping down with no real change. She wears shades over her face, wears sandals to expose her pretty toes, and carries a shopping bag. The girl also wears makeup, mostly eyeliner.
Shino on the other hand just wears her regular civilians, this time wearing the wig that comes with her costume.
"So," begins Melissa as she adjusts her top, "I understand that we're wearing this to hide our identities and not stick out, but is this not excessive?"
"No, this is effective," says Shino while walking, noting the looks some people are giving her and her younger entourage. "No one would suspect heroes dressed like this; we'll be fine as long as we keep a low profile." She gives someone a wave, and his eyes turn into hearts.
"Well, thankfully we have our gear here," Melissa mutters while lifting the shopping bag in her hand.
Momo looks up at the sky and sees an electronic billboard. On it, she sees a picture of Uwabami and sighs. "To think, I almost went to her agency… maybe I should have."
Shino looks up, noting the words below. "Her funeral will be within the week."
Melissa looks around staring before her. "He's closer. Let's go."
The trio of lovely ladies makes their way ahead following the blond spider girl.
For a few minutes, the girls continue their trek until reaching a less populated area of Musutafu. Here, there are fewer collections of buildings which means the sun is beaming on them brighter than before. While walking, Momo looks ahead at the two ladies leading the charge.
"Miss Sosaki," says the young Yaoyorozu, catching Black Cat's attention. Sighing through her nose, she lowers her lenses and says, "I never really got to say this, but thank you."
Still, in motion, Shino looks back as the girl continues: "Thank you for getting this mission together. I don't know what I would have done if I didn't get help."
The mind speaker huffs with a smile delivering content. "It's no problem, Yaoyorozu. I owe your little pet spider more than ever, so helping him just comes as second nature." Her face colors a slight blemish. "I don't know what I would have done without him either."
Staring at her, Momo gives a glance over to Melissa who nods, before asking, "If it's okay with you, could you answer this honestly?"
"Of course."
Now that she has this time to think, Shino Sosaki has been just as desperate to find her boyfriend as she was. Going further into that, the cat lady has also been spending time with Izuku behind her back. There was also a time where she held this expression that she feels is familiar, if only in comparison to her own. Momo can only ask, "Do you have feelings for Izuku?"
With that, just like the previous tone that went with their presence, the three ladies stop where they are. Turning back around to properly face Momo, Shino resigns with defeat. "It's that obvious, isn't it?"
"Wait, you do?" Melissa suddenly speaks, lifting her glasses to reveal her surprise. "Wow. Deku is more popular than I thought."
"Don't you as well?" The judgment pendulum quickly turns to Melissa's direction. "It was my understanding that everyone in this group has feelings for him."
"No, just you two." The blond points to the two brunettes. "I won't lie; Deku is a nice guy and I thought about the possibility, but I don't see us being together romantically." She gestures to the rich girl. "She gave the okay for him to knock me up when we're older because of the pheromones, but that's about it. We'll be sex friends."
Momo shakes her head. "Please don't say it like that."
"What would you identify this relationship as?"
Shino Sosaki frowns in disbelief at what she's hearing. "You're okay… with Izuku having sex with other women?"
"No, I'm not," is Momo's immediate response. "I love Izuku and he loves me, that will never change no matter who comes for him." 'Except for Ochako, maybe…' "I just wanted to know how you felt about him, so I can encourage you to take that leap and let him know."
Surprised, Shino asks her, "You want me to tell your boyfriend I've had feelings for him for a good amount of time? What if he sees me differently?" She then rubs her left arm from the shoulder down. "I mean, I am after all twice his age. No one would question an older man with a younger woman, but they'll instantly hate on the opposite; why do you think Takeyama hasn't made a move after that photo?"
"Takeyama?" While Melissa is in the dark, Momo knows just what she's referring to. Never has she been grateful for someone keeping away from her boyfriend than her, and the age gap between him and her is only seven years. Sadly, Shino's feelings are behind a fifteen-year wall, which is just like Midnight and she's even worst than Mount Lady when it comes to promiscuity.
"Look, we'll talk about this later." Shino turns to Melissa.
"Over there." The blond spider points over at the greying greenhouse just close by. "He's inside there."
"Good. Let's get him back."
From the bag Melissa carries, Shino pulls out her claws and mask. With just these tools, the girls head for the greenhouse pumping their feet as fast as they could.
'What were you doing saying that anyway?' Momo pauses when she hears her mind tenant. 'Is it that important that you bring something like another woman having feelings for your boyfriend?'
She sighs. 'I've had feelings for Izuku for a good deal of time, and have gone as far as suppressing them to focus on what I thought was important. But when I accepted those feelings, I felt so much better. If she tells him she'll be able to be freer and not have this awkwardness around him.'
"Oh?" She could feel Kur moving in her head. 'Are you saying that because you want her to feel better? Or so you'll feel better when she gives up?'
'That… that's not true.' Momo shakes her head.
'Or maybe you're considering revving things up by adding a wheel or two.'
'Blocking you out!'
Returning to reality, Momo and the others reach the greenhouse. They stop at the entrance, seeing two figures inside the gray glass.
'They can probably see us on the other end…' Momo cups her chin thinking of a plan.
"Allow me. I can camouflage you." Taken by surprise, Kuri takes over causing Momo to vanish.
"Yaoyorozu?" Shino looks around for the invisible girl.
"We'll go in from the top and catch them by surprise. In ten seconds, go in from the front door."
Kicking off her shoes, Momo climbs up the side of the glass and reaches the rooftop. She draws a knife from her pocket and slices a circle giving her an opening. A tendril catches the circle before it could fall.
She then drops down landing on the floor as lightly as she could. Turning into the direction of her beloved she shouts, "Izuku!"
The boy sits up from where he is and turns around quickly to the source of his name. There he finds the girl coming into reality. "Momo?"
"Izuku!" She runs over to him, reaching out and hugging him. Tightening herself around him, Momo holds the boy she loves as tightly as possible. "You're okay."
Though surprised by her arrival, he reaches under and hugs back, relaxing in her embrace. After a bit they break away, Momo asking, "Are you okay?" Her eyes look down at his torn costume. "No, of course not. You've been through a lot haven't you?"
"Momo, I-" The front door opens up – busts down is more accurate – and in rushes Melissa and Shino, the latter extending her claws. "Mandalay? Melissa?"
"That's Shino!"
"Deku, you're okay!" Melissa says with relief.
The two girls make their way to him, stopping when someone jumps out. Moving from behind a table appears Ghost-Spider, masked and everything to hide her Ochako face. "You!" Shino gets into a fighting pose.
"No, wait! It's okay!" Izuku turns from Momo to where Ochako and Shino are. "Ochako, stop."
There is a moment of silence, Momo looking at Izuku in shock when he says that name. "Ochako?"
"Wait, I know you." Ochako removes her mask glancing at the blond.
"So do I!" Shino and Melissa say this in unison.
Izuku limps over to Ochako, Momo following after close behind. As he reaches them, he says, "Nobody has to fight anyone. She's on our side."
"Deku, how can you say that? She's that spider woman from the I-Expo incident who took the Quirk Amplifier remains."
"She's also the spider woman who helped that Noumu escape."
The spider boy looks confused at that last part. Does she mean the same one that he heard attacked Muscular and let him and Iida escape?
Momo takes his shoulder and locks eyes with his. "Izuku, you said Ochako right? As in the girl that died?"
Both Melissa and Shino remain in shock as the couple faces each other. He says, "Yes, that Ochako Uraraka."
"But how?!"
"I wasn't dead, just unconscious when I was taken to the hospital." Ochako steps over to where there would be rows of plants situated, now space. "I later found out the truth; they replaced my body with a dead person's and pronounced me deceased, just so they could turn me into a weapon."
Looking back and one another, Melissa steps away from Shino to ask, "Why you?"
"They do this to a lot of children with promising Quirks," Ochako replies with a sigh of discontent. "When someone with a useful ability gets in their range, they try to get their hands on it by either recruiting that person, turning them into a Noumu or just stealing the Quirk."
Here, Izuku chokes on the guilt forming in his throat. "By they, do you mean All for One?"
"Him, Tomura Shigaraki, and their backer Daruma Ujiko…" Ochako rubs her hair. "I don't know when they did it, but I know that once they found out someone could survive the spider venom that gave you powers, they wanted to get the secret to it. Once they got a knife with your blood on it they used that to make a prototype upgrade and gave it to their throwaways. Only three survived the beta test, including me."
Her mind remembering the experiments, she instinctively grabs her arm. Screams reverberate through her head with each passing second of reminiscence. Immediately she stops, shaking her head to free from the darkness, facing the people around her.
Shino, eyes narrow in skepticism, drops her question. "Then why did you not help him earlier? Why are you even sentient? None of the Noumu we've faced or brought in were capable of speech, let alone intelligence."
Ochako faces the adult. "The Noumu are classified into three groups; Low, Mid, and Upper. Each of them is good for fighting, but only the Upper can contain multiple Quirks. Above them is the High-End, which have multiple Quirks and require the longest time for surgery." She adjusts her hair, showing a piece of skin removed. "If I had a classification, I'd say I'm the same as Kurogiri."
"Kurogiri?" Izuku and Momo look back at each other.
"But, I still had a Quirk so the venom would have killed me. That's where Deku came in." She points to him. "His DNA could neutralize the negative effects so I kept eating his blood and earlier his hair."
"You did?" Izuku touches his hair, brushing aside snips of his epidermis that haven't fallen off.
"I don't… what?"
"Quirkless people can resist the negative effects," Melissa tells the adult, bringing her out of her confused state.
"But Ochako," speaks Momo walking up to her, "why have you been still working with them? And if you are Ochako and Izuku's friend, why didn't you tell him before? What happened to him to end up on the internet by Gentle?"
"By who?"
Ochako inhales. "I want Shigaraki and Daruma to pay for taking me away from my parents and friend. I need to expose Shigaraki's face, his name, or else he'll get away with this. He has no alibi now, just a blond girl who can transform into anyone including him."
At that, Izuku raises his head in a flinch. 'Blond girl, who transforms?'
"Although now I can't return to them. They'll be onto me if Toga tells them what she did." Ochako then walks over to a counter and grabs an item resting there, the camera that recorded Izuku and his mask being removed. "As for how he got there, you'll have to ask him. I only managed to find Deku by following Gentle after he fought off the Sinister Six."
That's a peculiar name. "Sinister Six?" asks Momo.
"I'll tell you later." Izuku grabs his abdomen. "We need to get somewhere safer, and I need new clothes. Everything I had with me is buried with Aldera."
Sighing with relief, Momo adjusts her dress to pull out some men's' clothing. "I gotcha covered, Izuku."
"Thank you Momo." The two look at one another as he receives her gifts.
Watching them, Ochako remains static with brightening eyes. "Hmph. They're getting along well." She turns over to Melissa as Izuku steps somewhere private to change, handing the blond the camera. "You take this. I'll go into hiding. I need to go somewhere."
"Wait, Ochako…" Melissa takes the camera. "You said you're a Noumu, but not a single one of them disobeyed the VA's orders. Even if you wanted to help Deku, how were you able to?"
Silent, Ochako looks aside before back to Melissa meeting her crystal blue eyes. "It's hard to explain because I still don't believe it."
"Huh?" Shino watches their conversation.
"Someone inside my head guided me."
Elsewhere…
Tomura Shigaraki sits with crossed legs at the sight before him. "Marvelous, Hitomi." Hitomi stands tall grasping her head.
Her vision clear, her body more energized, and for some reason her chest bigger, Hitomi feels like a brand new person. She glances at her hands and clenches the fingers one by one. "This is amazing. I feel incredible!"
"You're not gonna chant, are you?"
Glaring at him, Hitomi summons her tentacles to snap at Shigaraki. She then glances over in the distance, seeing a pile of blood and flesh are thrown about. "What about him?"
"Collect him. We might find a use for a legion."
Kei: So, we were supposed to start the Hideout Raid in this chapter. But, we decided to dedicate this to the Ochako Reveal. Next time though. I wish I was as motivated as Mizu.
