Chapter 25
Alexis stood up and asked, "Who is the father of your unborn child?"
Elizabeth looked at Diane. Diane nodded that it was ok to answer her question.
"Jason Morgan," Liz answered.
Sam stood up and shouted, "She's lying."
Judge Mitchell banged her gavel, "Ms. Morgan, sit down. One more outburst and I will hold you in contempt. Miss. Davis continue."
"You said Jason Morgan is the father of your unborn child, that is correct right?" Alexis asked.
"That is correct," Liz answered.
"Are you saying that you had an affair with a married man," Alexis asked.
"Jason and Sam had already separated and heading towards divorce," Liz told her.
"How did you know that?" Alexis asked.
"Because Jason told me," Liz replied.
"How you know that Mr. Morgan wasn't lying to you?" Alexis asked.
"Because I have been friends with Jason for many years and he has never lied to me once,' Liz told her.
"Really? Because Ms. Jacks said, in a written statement, that you used to follow Mr. Morgan around like a lost little girl and that he only tolerated you. She also stated that you would try to come between Mr. Morgan and his wife," Alexis stated.
Liz laughed before she answered, "Of course she would say that. Ms. Jacks has never liked that Jason and I were close. She would get in my face and called me names for years. Jason would constantly tell her to leave me alone and she would never listen to him. She lives in alternate universe when it comes to Jason. She believes Jason was out on this earth to take care of her even when she was married. As coming between Jason and Sam, I have always respected Jason's decision,"
Alexis looked at Liz for a minute and asked, "So you never slept with Mr. Morgan while her was with his wife or wives?"
"Objection your honor. My client's love life has no barring on this case," Diane yelled, standing up.
"Your honor, I am trying to find out why Mr. Morgan would leave everything to her and not his wife." Alexis said.
"Sustained," Judge Mitchell said.
"I am done," Alexis said, going back to her seat.
"You may step down. Mrs. Morgan." Judge Mitchell said. Elizabeth got up and walked back to her seat. "Miss Miller, call your next witness."
"I call Francis Corelli to the stand," Diane said.
Francis walked up to the stand and the bailiff had him to place his right hand on the bible and asked "Do you swear to tell the truth, the whole truth and nothing but the truth so help you god?"
"I do," Francis said, and the judge told hum he could be seated.
"Mr. Corelli, when was the last time you saw Jason Morgan before his death?" Diane asked.
"I saw him a few days before. I went with him when he went to get his divorce and then when he filled out his will and I signed as a witness," Francis said.
"No more questions," Diane said, and she sat down.
"Miss. Davis," the judge said.
"Mr. Corelli, how many years did you work for Jason Morgan?" Alexis asked.
"Up until his death," Francis answered.
"Really? And how is it that Mrs. Morgan had never met you?" Alexis questioned.
"Well, the reason the formal Mrs. Morgan has never met me was because Jason had me working in Italy," Francis told her.
"And what is that you do? We all know Mr. Morgan was a criminal," Alexis said.
"Objection," Diane yelled.
"Sustained. You don't have to answer the question," Judge Mitchell said.
"If it is ok, I would like to answer," Francis asked the judge and the judge nodded.
"I manage an art gallery in Rome. Jason bought it yeas ago and sent me to oversee it. It was supposed to be a surprise for Elizabeth," Francis said and mouthed "Sorry" to Liz, she smiled and mouthed back "It's ok."
"Why would he buy her an art gallery? It was listed in his list of properties he owned. Also, they were never in a relationship and everyone knows that Samantha Morgan was the love of his life," Alex stated.
Francis laughed and said, "That is where you are wrong. The reason it was not listed was because it is in Elizabeth's name. Plus, Jason has confided in me for years,,,"
Alexis cut him off by saying, "That is actually Sonny Corinthos and Carly Jacks' job. After all, they are Mr. Morgan's best friends."
"You think? But that is what Jason want them to think. He would tell them what they wanted to hear. He tells me the true stories. Anyways, Jason bought the gallery for Elizabeth because she is the true love of his life, He was pushed into the married with Sam, actually both of his marriages, by his so-called best friends," Francis said.
"But Mr. Morgan has a child with Sam," Alexis continued.
"Jason was convinced that the child was not his," Francis said.
"No more questions," Alexis said.
"Your next witness Miss Miller," the judge said,
"We have no more at this time but would like to request a chance to call more later," Diane asked.
"Objection," Alexis said.
"Overruled. Miss. Miller your request is granted. Court is adjourned for lunch. We will continue at 1pm with your first witness Miss. Davis," the judge said.
