Chapter 36
Drake
Once again, before we could actually kiss, we heard our friends' voices near. I let go of Iris reluctantly, yet leaned closer. 'We're not done, Valentine.' She smiled. 'I hope not.' 'Guys, are you okay?' Tim asked carefully. Hana eyed him, looking cranky. 'Maybe they would be if you hadn't flashed the picture in her face like that, Timothy!' Iris smiled at Hana and nodded. 'We're fine, I was overreacting. What's up next?' Everyone looked surprised, and the guys eyed me. I shrugged, pretending like I had no idea what caused her shift. 'I think I know how to make this up to you,' Danny said, and pointed at the list. Tim nodded, and Bertrand sighed. 'Really?' I glanced, then nodded. 'We have to.' I looked at Iris. 'I'm not nearly drunk enough for this, but it's for you.' The girls all raised their eyebrows, but I was already pulling Iris with me. She giggled, 'where are you going?!'
I searched the signs, and finally found the karaoke bar. 'Oh my god, you are… voluntarily…' Iris said surprised. I frowned. 'It's on the list, so slightly involuntarily… but I have some making up to do after flirting with someone else I think,' I said, a cheeky smile on my face as I kissed her, then walked up to the man standing next to the karaoke machine.
Iris
'What have you done to my brother?' Savannah asked surprised as Drake walked up to the man next to the karaoke machine. I let out a laugh and shook my head. 'I have no idea, I haven't seen him like this before. Yeah he isn't grumpy around me… but singing…' I shook my head again. Tim, Bertrand and Danny followed Drake, and talked to the man, who handed them four microphones. Drake turned around, a slight grin on his face. I raised my eyebrows, and put my hands on my hips. He chuckled, jumped on stage, and looked at me. 'Valentine, I usually wouldn't do this, you know that. I'd prefer sitting in a bar, drinking whiskey… but you've got me singing. This is to you, my fiancée.' I blew him a kiss and smiled big, feeling butterflies fly all through my body. 'Who is this guy and what has he done with Drake?' Hana asked surprised. I laughed, still feeling surprised myself.
The song started, and the tones immediately told me it was a Jonas Brothers song.
He didn't.
I cheered loudly and jumped up and down. Tim, Bertrand and Danny joined him on stage, and Sarah, Hana and Savannah exulted as well.
'Caught my heart about one, two times, don't need to question the reason I'm yours, I'm yours.. I'd move the earth or lose a fight to see you smile, because you've got no flaws… no flaws. I'm not trying to be your part time lover, sign me up for that full time, I'm yours, all yours,' Drake sang, and the others chimed in.
'So what a man gotta do, what a man gotta do, to be totally locked up by you?'
The girls and I laughed and cheered as the guys sang to us on stage. I felt thousands of electric sparks jolt through my body as I watched the love of my life singing a fricking Jonas Brothers song. Hana was filming the performance, and all I could think about… was how amazing Drake was. He was looking at me, a playful grin on his face as he saw how much I liked this. I giggled. Suddenly, a group of girls walked into the lounge, and cheered, walking up to the stage. Drake's grin disappeared, and Tim, Danny and Bertrand's faces turned uncomfortable. 'That's the other girl group,' Sarah gasped, and pointed at the black haired girl in the front. 'That's the girl from the picture, isn't she?' Savannah said.
I nodded, and suddenly felt slightly bad for her. 'This isn't going to end well…' Hana said as she quickly stopped filming. Tim eyed me, a little worried. I raised my hands, no idea what to do. 'Maybe we should run,' Sarah hissed, looking at the door. 'Well… this is the spot we have to be, because the next part of the night would in fact be… karaoke,' Hana said, her cheeks a little reddened. Suddenly, Tim and Danny jumped off stage, and walked over to me, taking my hands and pulling me towards Drake. 'This isn't a good idea,' I hissed, but Tim and Danny looked slightly desperate as well.
Drake bent down, grabbed my waist and lifted me on stage. Even though we were in quite a crappy situation, his eyes were really loving as he smiled at me. I couldn't help but smile either. Danny gave me his mic, and gestured me to sing the last part together with Drake, which we did. We started singing to each other, and suddenly I realised that that was the first time we sang together. I saw a spark of recognition in his eyes as well, and he grinned, making me giggle. He grabbed my hand and twirled me around while singing Joe Jonas' lines, as I sang Nick Jonas' lines during the last part.
The moment the song ended, he pulled me close and smiled against my lips. 'If you ever tell anyone I learned a Jonas Brothers song for you…' I laughed and raised my hands. 'I wouldn't dare.' He smiled, clearly forgotten the entire problem, as he leaned in and pecked my lips. 'Thank you for singing a song like this, it's incredibly sweet.' He shook his head and winked. He grabbed my hand and walked off stage, giving our mics to the karaoke man. 'Thanks,' he said, and Drake already pulled me along towards Hana, Savannah and Sarah, when we heard the girl he'd hit on.
'Drake?'
Drake
Fuck! How could I've forgotten? I turned around quickly and looked into Elaine's eyes. 'Elaine, hi.' She raised her eyebrows and placed her hands onto her hips. 'Okay, we can explain,' Danny said, feeling the pressure as he walked up next to me. 'This is my fiancée,' I said, pointing at Iris, 'we're getting married… this is my bachelor party and we were doing a scavenger hunt.' Elaine's eyes widened. 'So you guys think you can just get phone numbers and have your fun?' She spat. Her friends were standing behind her, glaring at me. 'Eh, well…' Bertrand said, but Savannah elbowed him.
'Look, Elaine, I think the guys don't feel too good about it themselves, I know you don't deserve it, but-' Iris started, but Elaine snapped. 'Shut up, the grownups are talking,' she snapped. Sarah gasped, and the moment her words had gotten through to me, I straightened my back and pushed Iris behind me. 'Don't talk to my fiancée like that,' I said, my voice low and dangerous immediately. Elaine's eyes were shooting fire. 'I choose how to talk to your fiancée, you asshole.' I narrowed my eyes and clenched my fists. 'What are you going to do, Drake, hit a girl for saying something about her? You deserve it after the stunt you pulled.'
Iris quickly pushed me aside, 'guys please, let's just part ways ok-' She couldn't even finish her sentence, because Elaine was quicker. My eyes could hardly acknowledge what had just happened, but the slapping sound, and Iris almost tumbling towards the ground by the force of Elaine's hand made it clear. I caught Iris quickly, and lifted her back up onto her feet. I cupped her face, looking at her cheek which grew red immediately, and my hands started shaking from anger. Iris was staring at Elaine incredulously, but before I could even start yelling at her, I heard two other people yelling at her. The first was Tim, and the second one was a lot more scary. 'WHAT THE HELL DID YOU JUST DO?!' I heard Emma yell from the doorway. 'Uh oh,' Iris muttered, rubbing her cheek. Emma ran up to us and glared at Elaine, who just laughed. 'Walk it off, you dwarf.' Emma snorted, and clenched her fist. I pulled Iris behind me, and was still fuming as I took my stance next to Emma.
'You have no idea what you just did,' Emma hissed. 'Emma,' I heard Jimmy say, trying to reason with her. 'She punched Iris, Jimmy,' Tim said furiously, 'let Emma have her way here.' 'Guys, please,' Iris begged from behind me. Emma grabbed Elaine's dress and pulled her down to her level. 'I may be tiny but I'll kick your ass. I'm willing to listen to my friends if you leave now… otherwise I will leave you on the ground. Your choice.' Her voice was a pure threat. Elaine wavered, looking Emma up and down, then finally threw her hair onto her back and stomped off, her friends following her swiftly.
Emma turned around immediately and walked up to Iris. 'Are you okay? What happened?' Iris smiled slightly. 'Thanks, Em. Drake will explain.' I sighed. 'So she was the girl I'd hit on to get her number, and that definitely didn't turn out fine in the end.' I walked over to Iris and took her in my arms. 'I'm sorry she hit you, baby. Are you okay?' She nodded. 'Doesn't my cheek match my dress now?' The others chuckled slightly.
I looked at Jimmy. 'Please tell me your phone number hunt ended just this badly.' Jimmy grinned, 'I didn't even try, Drake. These things happen.' I groaned and kissed Iris' cheek softly. 'You want some ice?' She shook her head. 'God no. I've been hit before, I'm good.' Emma burst into laughter. 'Are you referring to that girl losing it in the club?' Iris nodded. 'I think I still feel my jaw crack at times.' Emma grinned. 'Back in the Netherlands, this girl pushed me off the bar, and I fell, twisted my ankle. Iris got so angry, she got into a fight with the girl.' Iris blushed slightly. 'Yeah, well… that's Dutch Iris.'
I cocked my eyebrows and grinned at her as she blushed. 'Long time ago.' Tim wrapped his arm around his sister's shoulders. 'Even though you had to endure the slap, I'm thinking you may still win first prize due to Drake's mistakes of choosing that girl to hit on.' I glared at him, yet Iris chuckled. 'We'd better!' Tim and Maxwell grabbed the lists, and their phones to see the evidence. Iris sent Tim our group picture she'd taken, so our evidence was complete. We all swapped stories of what we'd done, and there I learned that Emma had been twirling on a stripper pole. Jimmy's eyes had seemed quite dark once she'd mentioned the pole.
After a little while of comparing, Tim and Maxwell looked up, completely surprised. 'It's a tie.' 'Hold on, I was hit for nothing?!' Iris said, folding her arms. Tim chuckled and nodded. 'It appears so. This means that neither group has to sing!' We all cheered, but Hana and Tim were still grinning. 'Neither group… but karaoke is still a part of this evening!' I groaned. 'Here's the reaction to karaoke I'd expected before,' Iris joked, poking me in my stomach. I smirked. 'Yeah, the whiskey's worn off, you getting hit wasn't that fun to watch.' She let out a laugh. 'Well, I see no other option than to sing something nice for you.' She walked up to Emma, whispered something in Emma's ear and the latter nodded, a mischievous sparkle in her eyes. The girls walked over to the karaoke guy and asked for a song. He gave the both of them a mic, and the girls walked on stage.
The music started playing, but I didn't recognise it.
"Oh damn, oh damn, oh damn, I'm so perplexed with just one breath I'm locked in… Oh damn, oh damn, oh damn, I'm so perplexed that it's almost shocking,' Iris sang, as she looked at me, a seductive smile on her face.
Damn it. Tonight wasn't the regular kind of torture, it was the immense kind of torture.
"I know I know you know, your heart your mind your soul.. your body. They won't they won't they won't be careful, but I guess that you don't… know me,' Emma sang, and her eyes were fixated on Jimmy. 'Cause if I want you, and I want you babe, ain't going backwards, won't ask for space… as space is just a word made up by someone who's afraid to get too…' Iris sang, as she walked off stage slowly, walking up to me, while Emma continued singing as she walked up to Jimmy.
'Close, I want you close…'
Iris had finally arrived at where I was standing, and she stood close to me, singing how she wanted to be even closer. I placed my hands on her hips and felt myself growing hard again as her darkened eyes pierced into mine, our sexual tension almost palpable. She turned around slowly, pressing her back to my chest. I growled softly as she grabbed my hand and placed it onto her hip, as she moved her butt slowly.
Way too soon, the song ended, and both Jimmy and I were hardly able to do anything else than to stare at our fiancées. The girls handed the mics to Maxwell and Tim, who were jumping to do a song. Everyone cheered, but both Jimmy and I pulled our girls close. 'You wanted me close, right?' I whispered into Iris' ear. She bit her lip and nodded. 'I definitely do.' I pulled her pelvis against mine and softly groaned into her ear. 'Sharing a room or not, I will be undressing you tonight.'
Her eyes grew darker again. 'Drake…' she whispered, and finally… for the first time in forever, or so it seemed, our lips connected, kissing the way I'd been wanting to kiss her all night. A deep passionate kiss, showing how much we wanted it. How much we needed it. 'Just wait until the dancing part of the evening,' she whispered into my ear. My breath hitched. 'I'm not sure I'll make it,' I sighed. She smiled, and turned around in my arms, again, pressing her butt against my pelvis. I growled softly, but smiled slightly when she grabbed my arms and wrapped them around her waist.
A lot of our friends sang a song for us, or sang a song, and Jimmy and I even had to participate in another Cordonian Quartet karaoke, our girls cheering in the crowd. Iris, Emma, Tim, Jake and Danny sang a few Dutch songs together, and while singing they were laughing extremely hard. My Duolingo Dutch didn't always explain why, but at least I understood a few of the sentences and words. Finally, it was time for the last part of the evening. Maxwell and Tim led us all back to the big ballroom, as Jason and his gameshow were now gone, and a DJ had replaced him. 'HAVE FUN!' Tim and Hana yelled, already starting to dance with each other. Jimmy eyed me, and I knew what he was thinking. 'Eh, we're getting some drinks first,' I said, in need of a good whiskey. Jimmy nodded, and asked everyone what they wanted. He and I went to get the drinks, and he looked at me once we'd ordered.
'That girl thing was intense,' he said, leaning against the bar, his eyebrows raised. I nodded and frowned. 'Now I remember why I hated being single and having to flirt.' He chuckled. 'Oh that's the reason.' I rolled my eyes. 'How are you handling Emma tonight, you're looking like you don't want to be here anymore,' I teased. He stared down at his hands. 'If you're referring to me wanting to drag her away here and throwing her on a bed somewhere else, you're definitely right. She's been a god damn tease tonight.' I grinned. 'I've never heard you use "god damn", Jimmy. I guess you really are broken.' He sighed, 'to the extent of total loss. What about you?' I snorted. 'Same thing. Iris's been downright torturous.' Jimmy shook his head with a smile. 'Terrible… couldn't be happier to marry her.' I joined his smile. 'Me neither, man.'
We walked back with all the drinks, and handed them out. 'To the brides and grooms!' Tim said as he stuck his beer into the air. The others all followed, and so did I. I hated toasts, but to this one… this was finally a toast I could agree to. 'To us,' I smiled at Iris. She nodded, and kissed me as she stuck her glass into the air. I downed my whiskey and the dancing commenced.
Iris
I danced with everyone that night. At first I dragged Drake onto the dancefloor and drove him crazy by dancing up against him. 'I'm not going to take this much longer before dragging you out of here, Valentine,' he'd warned, and even though I would've loved to continue, I knew I'd been teasing him way too much that night, so I'd winked and switched to regular dancing. After Drake, I danced with Tim, and all the others cheered for us to do one of our famous routines. 'Fine, Valentwins?' Tim grinned. I nodded and grinned back. 'Valentwins.' We started dancing, which I'd really missed. Tim and I had been dancing together ever since we were about seven, doing street dance routines and performing for our parents. Emma, Jake and Danny joined us about halfway into the song, because Tim and I had often taught them dances when we were younger.
Everyone cheered as we finished, and we group hugged, laughing as the dancing had all reminded us of our youth. After that, Emma and I were "crazy dancing" with Maxwell, and it ended into him breakdancing and Emma and I cheering. As I was dancing with Savannah and Hana, Savannah pointed at something behind me. I turned, and saw Drake being cornered by Kiara. The latter seemed quite drunk, and Drake seemed pretty uncomfortable. Savannah giggled, 'god, Kiara's been after him for years. Ten, maybe. Poor girl.' I felt really bad for Kiara, but I couldn't help but laugh because of Drake's face. 'I'm on it,' I heard Emma say behind us. Emma walked up to Drake, put her hand on his shoulder, and said something to him. Drake's face grew incredibly relieved, causing Savannah, Hana and I to burst into laughter. Emma said something to Kiara, and pulled Drake with her.
She dropped Drake in the guys group, and returned to the girls group herself. 'Poor guy, Kiara was really flirting with him, saying things like "tonight is the last night you could ever sleep with someone else… would you?",' Emma said, her eyebrows almost raised into her hair. 'I told her no.' Hana gasped and Savannah gasped. 'Savage, Emma!' 'What, she's not messing with my best friend,' Emma said and winked at me. I giggled. 'Let me know if anyone hits on Jimmy, I haven't unleashed Dutch Iris for a while,' I said. Emma laughed and shook her head. 'Where were you a while ago during the Scavenger hunt? Jimmy's been hit on plenty of times.' 'How did he react?' Hana asked surprised. 'Well he looked about as happy as Drake just did, so the girls were gone quite quickly,' Emma chuckled. I grinned, 'proud of him.' Emma nodded. All the girls gathered, and we started dancing together. The guys were standing in a circle, talking, moving just slightly, but us girls were dancing and shaking our hips.
The guys got distracted by us quite soon, and we were well aware. Savannah winked at me and started dancing with Hana, and Hana giggled, and moved along with her. I grinned at Emma, and pulled her close to me. 'So, would Jimmy and Drake enjoy two girls dancing together?' She chuckled and looked over my shoulder. 'Drake definitely does, he's staring at us and he looks like he's desperate to drag you out of here.' I giggled and glanced at Jimmy. 'Jimmy's eyes are almost black, yet he seems uncomfortable. Maybe his pants aren't comfy anymore.' Emma burst into laughter and grinned up at me. 'They're going insane. I haven't been so nice today.' I let out a laugh, 'me neither, definitely.' She giggled. 'By the look in their eyes, you take our room okay, just let me know when it's safe enough to come back,' I told her. Her cheeks reddened slightly. 'I thank you, and I won't send Jimmy back to his room until I've received your message.' I bit my lip. 'Deal.' We grinned at each other and continued dancing.
'So this is Dutch Iris?' Savannah joked, and Emma laughed. 'Not even close. Iris was quite the bad girl back home.' I slapped her shoulder. 'I mean yeah, sure.' I rolled my eyes. 'Okay, so I kissed a friend of mine when I was drunk one time.' Emma cocked an eyebrow. 'Okay, so I kissed a few friends when I was drunk. Big deal!' I glared at her as she grinned. 'All I'm saying, this is your bachelorette party, you have to be honest to your sisters in law!' Savannah and Hana giggled. 'Yeah, I'm guessing we've all been there,' Savannah said mischievously and winked at us. We cheered, 'Sav!' Emma giggled. 'I haven't,' Hana said surprised. Savannah grinned, 'well thank god you're drunk, come here!' She pulled Hana's face towards hers, and pecked her lips. 'Oh damn!' Emma giggled and cheered. I looked over at Tim's face, and he seemed gobsmacked. I burst into laughter, directing Emma's gaze to Tim's face, and Bertrand's wasn't any better.
'Hm, Drake and Jimmy seem distracted by their kiss… maybe we should crack it up a notch,' Emma said mischievously, and pulled me closer. I bit my lip to contain my laughter, 'you really want Jimmy to just drag you out of here, don't you?' She nodded and raised her eyebrows. 'Definitely. I want his calm exterior to crack and break down.' I grinned. 'Good, because he's coming over, you've cracked him.' Jimmy's face was all but calm as he walked over to us and whispered something in Emma's ear. She smiled, a little smugly I might add, and reached him her hand. She winked at me and let Jimmy lead her off the dancefloor.
I chuckled, yet before I could even move, I felt a body heat behind me, a pair of hands on my hips, and lips against my ear. 'I need you up against me now.' My heart skipped a beat and I felt a million butterflies racing through my body as I turned around and looked into Drake's darkened eyes. 'Do you now?' I asked softly as I wrapped my arms around his neck. 'Hell yeah,' he whispered, and grabbed the fabric of my dress on my back as he pulled me closer. He pulled my hips against his, and started moving slowly, putting his forehead against mine. I tangled my hands in his hair as I felt him grow hard against me, making me moan into his ear. 'You must really want to take off those pants by now.' His eyes caught mine, and his voice was low and hoarse when he answered. 'You have no idea.'
For a little while, we were quiet, dancing together and hardly noticing anything else but each other, and the rising of the undeniable raw sexual tension. His hands were roaming over my back, my hands were tangled into his hair, gripping him tightly… his eyes were undressing me, and I was thinking about how to unbutton his suit the quickest… but then finally we couldn't take it anymore. 'Are you ready to end your bachelorette party?' He whispered into my ear. I smiled and pecked his lips. 'More than ready.'
He grinned and grabbed my hand to pull me along. 'Hey, where are you guys going, you're not supposed to be hooking up together!' Tim said with a grin. 'Yeah, this is your last night, you're supposed to be hooking up with other people!' Maxwell joked. I chuckled and kissed both Hana and Tim's cheeks. 'Thanks for the amazing party guys, I owe you.' Drake already pulled me along before they could answer, so I heard a faint laughter behind me.
He led me upstairs, yet after we'd had the first staircase, he already pushed me against the wall and pressed his body against mine. 'Damn it, Valentine, you've been torturing me so badly,' he said, his voice hoarsely. 'What about you,' I whispered, and let my hands slide down his chest. 'The suit, the wild hair… the Jonas Brothers song…' I moved my lips towards his neck, making him groan. 'You standing up for me,' I gripped his hair again, 'that was incredibly hot.' 'Hell,' he whispered and lifted me up, wrapping my legs around his waist, kissing me longingly. I deepened the kiss immediately, and moaned when his tongue found mine. My moans always drove him crazy, and this was no exception.
Suddenly, he pulled back, reluctantly, and looked into my eyes, while he panted slightly. 'What Maxwell said about this being our last night… are you sure you want to spend it with me?' I stroke his cheek with the back of my finger. My sexy, vulnerable man. 'Do you want to spend it with me?' I asked softly. He frowned slightly, 'yes,' he stated immediately, his voice hoarse.
I smiled, unwrapped my legs from his waist and winked before grabbing his tie and softly pulling him with me.
