LIGHTNING STRIKE

PART 1. SPEEDSTER

MARKO MARDON

Professor Mark Mardon is a world, famous Meteorologist and scientist. While he may seem like an average man he is obsessed with the weather and the idea it can be controlled. His obsession came the fact that his parents were killed by a hurricane while they were vacationing in the Bahamas. Their deaths and the aftermath of the storm had a profound effect on him.

He began studying the weather and doing experiments to create artificial storms. He eventually won a grant from Luthor Corp to advance his research. "Alright let's do one more diagnostic test and then we will activate the machine." Mark says to his team. It takes an hour to complete the test. When the diagnostic is done he activates the machine.

"Professor we are seeing a rise in ionic pressure and there are storm clouds gathering."

He smiles, "Its working!" Lightning flashes across the sky as it starts to rain.

BARRY

He is in the laboratory working alone. When he hears the lightning and then the rain. Suddenly a lightning bolt strikes through the window, hitting a shelf with chemicals. Barry is bathed in the electrified chemicals, burning his body and placing him in a coma. A fire starts, but the sprinklers come on and the fire alarm sounds throughout the precinct.

Even though he is unconscious, Barry is aware of everything going on around him. The burns from the chemicals instantly heal. An hour passes by before an EMT comes. "He's still alive. They place him on a gurney, take him to the ambulance and drive to the hospital.

"Barry can you hear me?" Joe says, "I'm right hear buddy."

A few hours later Iris shows up and is informed that Barry is in a coma. "What the hell?" Doctor Eobard Thawne says examining Barry's blood. "Nurse I want all blood sample from Barry Allen to come to me directly."

"Yes Doctor."

Two days later Barry wakes up, "Barry you're awake!" Iris says.

"Hi beautiful."

"You scared us there."

They kiss, "I'm fine. In fact I feel better than fine." They decide to keep Barry for one more day of observation. When he released Barry catches a cab home. The next morning Barry goes for a morning jog. As he is running down the steps his eyes glow and lightning starts jumping across his body. He runs all the way from Central City, Missouri to Coastal City, California. When he stops his clothes are burned and his shoes are worn out.

"Oh my God!" He manages to get to a homeless shelter and is given some clothes and food. "God why am I so hungry?" He buys a ticket and catches a plane back to Central City. He goes to the side of the main building at the airport. "Okay…Run home. Run home…Run home." The yellow lightning starts jumping across his body and he gets home in five seconds. He enters the house and passes out.

When he awakens Joe and Iris are standing over him. "Are you alright? I was about to call the Ambulance again."

"I am really hungry." He eats, but goes to the kitchen and eats more. Then he orders a pizza.

"Where are you putting all that?" Joe asks.

"I have something to show you. Okay get your car and drive to the park."

"Why?"

"Just do it. Please." Joe gets in his car and drives to the park a mile away. His cell phone rings. "Are you at the park?"

"Yes I am here."

There is a boom, "I am here as well."

"How did you?"

"I think the accident gave me super speed."

Instead of driving home Joe takes Barry to a storage unit. "Why are we here?"

"I need to show you something. Your grandfather was a speedster as well. They called him Excess."

"Excess?"

"He was a masked hero…"

Inside the storage unit is a costume with a lightning bolt on the chest. A hat and a mask that goes across the eyes. "This is so cool."

Joe opens a container and removes a blue liquid from it. "This is a liquid supplement your grandfather made for himself. It filled his stomach when he got really hungry from running so fast."

"Did my father know about this?"

"No…I knew because my father was the Guardian. He told me."

Barry takes the suit and refines it. He shows his friend Cisco Ramon who in turn shows him his Meta-Human power. "Dude why didn't you tell me you were a Meta-Human?"

"Some of us don't like registering and so we don't." Barry, Joe, and Cisco go to the old horse racing track, which is closed down. Barry and Cisco had built a super speed gun to track how fast Barry can go. "Mike check one two."

"I hear you Cisco." Barry is wearing the suit. "Alright here we go." The yellow lightning jumps across his body and he starts running around the track. "How fast am I going?"

"Dude you just went from zero to seven hundred and eighty in 6 seconds. You are going twelve hundred miles per hour right now. See how long you can maintain that speed."

He stops to drink the blue stuff to fill his hunger. When Barry goes home he eats a box of chicken, two loaves of bread, two large pizzas, and he drinks a two liter of soda and a gallon of water. Barry uses the money he got from selling an AI program to Wayne Enterprises to buy a building to set up a base. He buys computers and makes another suit.

PART 2. THE FLASH

Barry is in a store buying a soda when a man comes in with a gun. "Give me all the cash in the register…NOW!"

Like a bolt of lightning Barry knocks the man out and leaves after paying for his soda. On his first day off after the hospital Barry meets with Cisco at their secret hideout. He dawns his costume. "Man you look badass. And I have a name for you…Flash!"

"I like it. Would have gone with the red streak, but whatever."

"Red Streak…That is horrible."

"Sir…I am tapped into cameras throughout the city…The Midas Trust Bank is being robbed." The artificial intelligence known as Gideon says.

The Flash runs across town traveling at 1,200 miles per hour. When he reaches the bank the Bank teller had just pressed the button and a robber is shooting at him. To Barry everything seems to have slowed down. He grabs the bank teller snatching her from the path of the bullet and takes the guns of the ban robber.

"What the hell!" A man says after loosing his gun and seeing Flash.

"Call me Flash." He says and knocks the men out with multiple punches. He rescues a young girl from a kidnapper. He rescues multiple people from a burning building and saves some people from a car accident.

When Barry gets home Joe is waiting for him. "We've been getting multiple reports from people all over the city about a red streak."

"Really that's weird."

"Look Barry be careful. There are people within my department already talking vigilante. If they find out who you really are."

"They won't."

"What about Iris? You know how she is about secrets."

To reveal his secret to Iris Barry tells her by showing her. He runs her to Mexico and back in a matter of minutes. A few days later Barry is leaving his studio when someone calls his name. "Barry Allen?".

He locks the door and looks at the man, "Whose asking?"

"Clark Kent Daily Planet. I would like to ask about the night your Mother died."

He sighs, "I told the cops what I saw that night and I told many reporters. I have had enough people laughing at me."

"I read what you posted online as a kid. I believe you."

He looks at Clark suspiciously, "You believe me? You believe that I saw two streaks of lightning one red, the other yellow ricocheting around the House. It was like a tornado blowing through my House. Then something grabs me and takes me twenty blocks away. You believe that story?"

"I do, but if we are to prove that your father is innocent we need to come up with another story."

"It's the truth."

"You became a Forensic Scientist to prove your father's innocence right? I have friends who may be able to help." Emile comes to Central City and they do a forensic scan on the House and discover microscopic drops of blood not belonging to the victim or Mr. Allen.

With help from Clark Kent and Emile Hamilton, Barry is able to prove that his father is innocent. "SURPISE!" Everyone yells when Henry Allen comes home. Iris had written the headlines and article for the Central City Gazette.

HENRY ALLEN CLEARED OF CHARGES

Halfway through the party Henry taps his glass. "I want to thank all of you for standing by me all these years. I especially want to thank Joe. My best friend who took my son in and helped him become the man he is now."

Later father and son go to Allen's studio. "You've done well for yourself son."

"Thanks dad."

"So are you going to tell me?"

He frowns, "Tell you what?"

He smiles, "Sit down son. When I was growing up there was a man. A hero by the name of Excess…Excess was a speedster…He was also my father Richard Allen. Now people are talking about the Flash…"

"Yes dad…I am the Flash."

EOBARD THAWNE

Doctor Eobard Thawne is obsessed with Meta-Human mutations and when Barry Allen came to the hospital he did all in his power to make sure no one knew that Barry Allen had been mutated by his accident into a Meta-Human. He took Barry's blood, experimented on it and now he is ready to inject himself with it. Red lightning jumps across his body and he passes out. He remains unconscious for two days and awakens with super speed.

After creating a suit that will take the heat of the increased speed he can travel at, Thawne uses his speed and runs to Paris, stays for a few days and then runs back. When he enters his apartment a hooded woman is waiting for him.

"Who are you?"

"My name is not important…You possess a gift from the gods."

"I gained my power through science."

"And magic is science few people understand." The hooded figure opens a chest and inside are diamonds, emeralds, rubies, and sapphires. "I have a job that only someone with your gifts can accomplish."

"What is the job?"
