Arc League Championship — Chapter 39: A Painful Identity Crisis; Yuto Abiko vs Yugo
Yasuko isn't sure whose who anymore. First, there was Yuya Sakaki; second, there is Yuto Abiko; and lastly, there is a third person on top of a white motorcycle with the same identical face as both Yuya and Yuto.
The person is probably in the same height as Yuya or Yuto. What's distinguishing to all three of them is that they all have dual-colored hairs. Yasuko never realized it until then when she saw the three of them together. Yuya has red and green hair; Yuto has black and light purple, and the third person has blue hair in the back with yellow bangs swept to the right side of his head.
The stranger has greenish-blue eyes. He wears what appears to be a white jacket with red lines and yellow stripes on the sleeves that goes along with his white motorcycle jumpsuit that has red, blue, and yellow stripes that meet in the center in a chevron pattern. He has white gloves on, and his jumpsuit has shoulder, elbow, and knee pads, and gray boots
"It's you," Yuto called to the stranger, seemingly recognizing the boy.
The stranger looks to his right and saw Yuto. He seemed shocked and surprised to see him. "You!" he called back. "Finally, you're the one that I've been searching for a long time now!"
Yasuko can't be sure of what to say to the stranger. It seems so bizarre that she didn't think of seeing three more boys who look identical to each other. She turns to Yuya. "Yuya, you never told me that you are a triplet."
To Yuya's dismay of annoyance, Yasuko still believes that he had brothers even though he told her many times over that he does not have siblings. "Ah, c'mon!" Yuya wailed.
Yasuko turns to the stranger and askes a different question. "Hey, you there," she called. "Are you Yuto's twin brother, or Yuya's triplet?"
The stranger turns to Yasuko in the middle. He seems taken back by her question. "What? I don't have a twin brother; I'm an orphan," he proclaimed. Much to Yasuko's surprise, the stranger claims to be an orphan just like her.
"Then I supposed you are a clone then," Yasuko assumed.
The stranger got annoyed so easily from Yasuko's assumption. "What the hell makes you think I'm a clone?!" he snapped. "I am definitely not a clone!"
"Then you must be some kind of Yuya or Yuto from an alternate universe." Again, Yasuko makes a different assumption of why there are three different people with the same face.
"The hell do you keep getting this kind of stuff?!" the stranger retorted. He then points at Yuto. "You there!" he called to Yuto. "We never finished our fight the last time because your loser buddies interfered, so I demand a rematch! Now that it is a one-on-one, I won't lose!" For someone who talks of a big game, Yasuko can see the arrogance of the stranger. She is sure that the stranger can't possibly beat someone who is clever headed as Yuto Abiko.
The stranger crackles his knuckles together, looking ready to fight Yuto. "Duel me!" he demanded. "This time, I'll crush you for sure!"
Yuto narrows his eyes at the stranger. "Very well then," he accepted, activating his duel disk to emit a purple blade. "I'll take you down, Pawn of Fusion!"
"Pawn of Fusion?!" Yuya and Yasuko gasped together, seeing how the stranger in front of them could be related to the Fusion Dimension.
The stranger is bewildered, hearing his name being mispronounced. "Who the hell are you calling 'Fusion?!' It's not Fusion! My name is Yugo!" he snapped. "Don't make that mistake!"
"Yugo?" Yasuko repeated his name.
Yugo then activates his motorcycle, to turn on the computer. "Duel Mode: engage," a female computer from the motorcycle announced. A green blade disk emits from the motorcycle. Oddly though, it's a double angular, symmetrical green blade from the motorcycle. "Autopilot, standing by." Yugo puts back his white helmet on and prepares to rev his bike up and running.
"You're toast!" Yugo declared. "Here I go!" And with that, Yugo twists his stick to let the motorcycle accelerate forward fast, coming straight for Yuto
DUEL:
Yuto Abiko: LP 4000
VS
Yugo: LP 4000
"DUEL!" Yuto and Yugo shouted to start the duel.
Yasuko had to get out of the way because the motorcycle was coming fast in her direction. She jumps to the right, avoiding the motorcycle. Yugo uses the speed and momentum to bounce off the seat and flies overhead to the stage where Yuto is. "I'll go first, and I'll win!"
Turn 1: Yugo (5x cards)
Yuto gets out of the way as Yugo lands his motorcycle on the stage before pivoting hard right. "When there are no monsters on my field, I can Special Summon Speedroid Terrortop from my hand." Taking out one card, Yugo Special Summons Speedroid Terrortop (ATK 1200/DEF 600). On his field is a set of thirteen scarlet red spinning tops with one end being bigger than the rest, but the one at the front has two blades popping out.
Yasuko gets up and watches Yugo past her and Yuya. "What the hell?" she inquired. "He can summon a monster from that motorcycle?"
"I know," Yuya agreed. "Is that motorcycle his Duel Disk?"
"Speedroid Terrotop's special effect activates!" Yugo stated. "When this card is Normal or Special Summoned, I can add one Speedroid monster from my deck to my hand!" Yugo chooses one and adds his monster, Speedroid Double Yoyo. "And I add Speedroid Double Yoyo from my deck to my hand!" He then takes out another card and Normal Summons Speedroid Tri-Eyed Dice (ATK 300/DEF 1500). "Next, I summon the Tuner monster, Speedroid Tri-Eyed Dice!" A four-sided pyramid dice monster with all four red eyes and two electrical circle dots appear on the field.
Yasuko is shocked that the duelist riding the motorcycle has a Tuner monster. "What? A Tuner monster?" she inhaled. "So then…is he going for a Synchro Summon?"
Even Yuya is surprised. "So, is he a Synchro summoner?" he wondered.
"I tune my level 3 Tri-Eyed Dice with my level 3 Terrortop!" Yugo declared. The four-sided dice monster transformed into three green rings to scan the spinning terrortop monster until it is nothing but three glowing orbs.
(3 + 3 = 6)
"Cross-shaped magical sword! Slice and dice all of your enemies with your power! I Synchro Summon! Appear! Level 6! Hi-Speedroid Kendama!" Yugo Synchro Summons Hi-Speedroid Kendama (ATK 2200/DEF 1600). On his field is a monster that is blue kendama that has a little body in the middle of the two shields with a pointy top.
Yasuko stares at the Synchro monster that Yugo has. "So there really is a Synchro Dimension after all," she determined. "But why is this guy using a Synchro monster if Yuto claims him to be a Pawn of Fusion?" Her eyes narrow at Yugo, riding with his blue kendama monster.
"I activate Kendama's special effect!" Yugo announced. "Once per turn, I can banish one Machine monster from my graveyard, and you take 500 points of damage!" Yugo banishes his Speedroid Terrortop to let the blue kendama monsters shoot out a blue beam from the point and at Yuto. The boy reacts quickly and runs out of the way for the blast to miss him, even though he still takes the damage.

"I set a card face-down and end my turn." Yugo Sets a card.
Turn 2: Yuto (5x cards)
"Wait a minute," said Yuya. "Yugo's a Synchro summoner? But isn't Yuto's enemies supposed to be the Fusion Dimension?"
Yasuko looks at the battle between Yuto and Yugo. "Apparently, he may be an ally, or probably got caught up in this mess," she assumed.
"My turn!" Yuto draws a card from his deck.
"I summon The Phantom Knights of Ragged Glove from my hand!" Yuto Normal Summons The Phantom Knights of Ragged Glove (ATK 1000/DEF 500). A blue ghost warrior wearing armor and two enormous gauntlets appears on Yuto's field. "When there is a Phantom Knights monster on my field, I can Special Summon The Phantom Knights of Silent Boots from my hand." By using his monster's effect, Yuto Special Summons The Phantom Knights of Silent Boots (ATK 200/DEF 1200). Next to Yuto is a blue ghost wearing a brown drape and pants over itself.
"I overlay my Level 3 The Phantom Knights of Ragged Glove and Silent Boots!" As Yuto declared, the ragged glove ghost and the boot ghost turns into purple and violet lights to shoot in the air before falling into the galaxy portal.
"Soul of warriors fallen on the battlefield, revive now, and become the light to rend darkness! I Xyz Summon! Appear, Rank 3 The Phantom Knights of Break Sword!" Yuto Xyz Summons The Phantom Knights of Break Sword (ATK 2000/DEF 1000). From the field on Yuto's side is a blue flaming headless horseman attached to the armored ghost horse wielding a massive sword with two Overlay Units rotating around it. "When a monster uses Ragged Glove to Xyz Summon, it gains 1000 ATK points until the end of the turn!" Since the ragged glove ghost was used to summon the flaming ghost horsemen, its giant sword glows neon violet.
(The Phantom Knights of Break Sword: ATK 2000 → 3000)
Yuto gives a chase after Yugo and his blue kendama monster. "Now, battle!" he declared. "Go, Break Sword, attack Kendama!" The flaming ghost horseman charges in the way of the blue kendama and sliced it into two pieces, destroying the monster to deal battle damage to Yugo.
(Yugo: LP 4000 → 3200)
He nearly lost control of his motorcycle because of the force that almost drives him away. "Whoa! I better watch out!" Yugo cautioned.
Yuto stops running as he Set his card. "I set a card face-down and end my turn," he concluded. "And now my Break Sword's ATK points return to normal."

Turn 3: Yugo (3x cards)
Yugo drives his motorcycle over to make himself stop. The wheels screech on the concrete floor. Once he stops, Yugo turns to glare at Yuto. "Bastard," he cursed. "You're gonna pay for that! I'll make you pay back a double—no— a hundred times over!"
Yugo accelerates his motorcycle over to Yuto as the boy dodges him to let it past. "My turn!" Yugo draws a card from his deck.
"I activate my Spell, Speed Recovery!" Yugo plays his Spell Card, Speed Recovery. "I can Special Summon one Speedroid monster from my graveyard to my field! Resurrect! Kendama!" By using the spell card, Yugo was able to Special Summon Hi-Speedroid Kendama back to his field as the blue kendama monster appears back on his field again. Yugo rotates his motorcycle over to let it slide over the hill and fly up in the air.
"Let's battle! Kendama, attack Break Sword!" Yugo declared.
Just as the blue kendama monster comes over to attack, Yuto had a Trap card waiting for him. "I flip my Continuous Trap, Phantom Knights' Sword!" Yuto activates his Continuous Trap Card, Phantom Knights' Sword. "This card gives my Break Sword additional 800 ATK points!" A second sword piece appears to connect to the broken half of the flaming horsemen's sword, giving it a boost.

"Now Yuto's got the upper hand," said Yuya.
"Yep, with 2800 ATK points, Kendama will get destroyed because of its weaker ATK points," Yasuko added.
"Don't underestimate me!" Yugo protested. "I also activate my trap, Speed Turn!" Yuya flips up his Trap Card, Speed Turn. "It switches Break Sword to Defense Position and loses 500 DEF points!" The ghost horseman switches to Defense Position, but it loses some points as the result of its defenses.

With the ghost horsemen's defense power weakened, the blue kendama monster flies straight toward it. "Your monster is finished!" Yugo exclaimed.
"Not gonna happen!" Yuto objected. "Break Sword isn't destroyed in battle by sending Phantom Knights' Sword to the graveyard instead!" The two monsters clashed with one another, but the top half of the ghost horsemen's sword is destroyed by the blue kendama.
"I activate Kendama's special effect," said Yugo. "It can deal piercing damage!"
Yasuko did the math in her head and makes a precise calculation. "Since Kendama has 2200 ATK points and Break Sword has 500 DEF points, the differences will be a total of 1700 points of damage," she calculated.
Yuto tries to run away from the blue kendama, but the monster pierces the ground hard enough to send him flying over and hit the ground painfully.

Yasuko and Yuya cover themselves as the strong winds of debris flies around them.
"Whoa!" Yuya panicked. "What an impact!"
"This is friggin' crazy!" Yasuko exclaimed. "You idiots need to chill out!"
Yugo turns his motorcycle to screech it across the ground until it stops. "I set a card face-down and end my turn." Yugo Sets a card
Turn 4: Yuto (3x cards)
Yuto grits in pain. He gasped, trying to get some air. Yuya sees how hurt he is and tries to run to him. "Yuto!" he called.
Yuto gets up and raises a hand to Yuya. "Stay there!"
Yuya stopped running and gasped, "What!?"
As the boy gets up, Yuto glares at Yugo. "My turn!" He draws a card from his deck.
Yuto rotates his ghost horsemen to be vertical in Attack Position. "I switch my Break Sword to be in Attack Position." He Normal Summons The Phantom Knights of Ancient Cloak (ATK 800/DEF 1000). "I summon the Phantom Knights of Ancient Cloak!" On his field is a blue ghost wearing a purple cloak drape with three hovering plate and two staffs.
"I activate Ancient Cloak's special effect," said Yuto. "If this card is in Attack Position, I can switch it to Defense Position, target one DARK monster on the field to have it gain 800 ATK points until the end of my opponent's turn! Break Sword gains 800 ATK points until the end of your turn!" By switching the cloaking ghost to defense, the ghost horseman was able to gain more power boost by lighting up its massive half sword.

"Let's battle!" Yuto declared. "Break Sword, attack Kendama!" The ghost horsemen charged forward and sliced the monster in half, destroying with an explosion to cause Yugo to flinch.

"I set a card face-down and end my turn." Yuto Sets a card. "And now Break Sword's ATK points return to normal."

Turn 5: Yugo (2x cards)
Yugo smirks and looks at Yuto. "You duel quite well," he commented.
Yuto narrows his eyes. "I won't lose to the like of you, Pawn of Fusion!"
Yugo gets insulted after Yuto mistook his name. "What the hell!?" he snapped. "My name is Yugo! Stop saying 'Fusion' over and over again!" Yugo is easily angered when someone doesn't get his name right. "You're really annoying me now!" He grips his knuckles. "Not only did you steal something so precious from me, but you even keep getting my name wrong!"
"You're the one who stole from me!" Yuto retorted.
"Shut up!" Yugo snapped. "We'll talk right after I beat you!" Yugo revs his motorcycle again and drives straight for Yuto.
"My turn!" As he drives past Yuto, Yugo draws a card from his deck.
Yugo takes out one card and Normal Summons Speedroid Double Yoyo (ATK 1400/DEF 1400). "From my hand, I summon Speedroid Double Yoyo!" Yugo summons a green monster shaped as a yoyo with razor blades sticking out from the wheels. "I activate Double Yoyo's special effect," he said. "When it's summoned, I can Special Summon one level 3 or below Speedroid monster from my graveyard to the field!"
Yugo Special Summons Speedroid Tri-Eyed Dice. A small portal opens up as the four-sided pyramid dice monster. "I Special Summon the Tuner monster, Speedroid Tri-Eyed Dice," he said.
Yasuko isn't sure if she is having auditory hallucinations, but she could've sworn that she heard a loud dragon roar echoing out of nowhere. Turning her head, she looks around to wonder what is making the roar.
"What the—" Yasuko wondered.
Unknown to Yasuko, all three of the identical boys felt something stinging their chest. They cringed and pushes it down to ignore the growing pain.
"I know," said Yugo. "You want to battle him too, so I'll bring you out." He raises his hand in the air. "Here I go! I tune my level 3 Tri-Eyed Dice with my level 4 Double Yoyo!" The four-sided dice monster turns into three green rings to scan the razor yoyo until it was nothing but four glowing orbs before it shoots out a bright light.
"Spread those wondrous and beautiful heroic wings and strike down your enemies at the speed of light! I Synchro Summon! Appear now! Level 7! Clear Wing Synchro Dragon!" Yugo Synchro Summons Clear Wing Synchro Dragon (ATK 2500/DEF 2000). From out of the bright light is the third dragon that is the most beautiful thing that Yasuko has ever seen.
Clear Wing Synchro is a white embedded with black armor scale dragon that has aqua green crystal panels on the shoulders and four more at the waist where it doesn't have legs, but it has a long tail rooted in white and black armor scales along with blue armor on the chest and the forehead to have it as a horn sticking up as it spreads open its six finger claws out. Clear Wing Synchro gives the loudest roar ever to make its appearance known to anyone who sees it.
Yasuko's eyes are wide, full of shock. She can't believe that there is someone from the Synchro Dimension who possess a different kind of unique dragon.
"Clear Wing Synchro Dragon?" Yasuko uttered, almost breathless.
"He's got another dragon?" Yuya inquired. "This is getting real!"
Yugo rides his motorcycle with Clear Wing above him, flying alongside with the rider. "Let's battle!" He throws his arm over. "Clear Wing Synchro Dragon, attack Break Sword!"
Clear Wing soars high in the night sky, letting off the aqua green radiance of pure energy emit from the crystal plates. Mechanical circuits activate on the plates. Once it is powered, Clear Wing makes a dive down toward the ghost horsemen. "Whirlwind Hell Dive Slasher!" A strong air current surrounds the dragon to give it maximum power. Clear Wing swoops in and takes out the ghost horsemen to pieces, destroying it and damaging Yuto's life points.
(Yuto: LP 1800 → 1500)
Yuto was sent flying back from the winds, causing him to fall back again.
"Yuto!" Yuya called, trying to run over to support, but Yuto refused.
"Stay back!" Yuto ordered. He gets back on his feet and goes after Yugo.
"Break Sword's special effect activates! When this card is destroyed in battle, I can Special Summon the monsters that were used to summon and increase their levels by 4!" The mirage of the ghost horsemen appears before vaporing into blue flames to Special Summon The Phantom Knights of Ragged Glove, and The Phantom Knights of Silent Boots.
"Since they're back, I'll get rid of the ones that I don't like," Yugo scoffed. He takes out one Spell Card, Shock Surprise. "I activate the spell card, Shock Surprise!" he exclaimed. "I can banish Speedroid Double Yoyo from my graveyard to destroy your Ancient Cloak!" By removing the razor yoyo from play, the Spell card fires a purple beam to destroy the cloaking ghost monster.
"I end my turn," Yugo concluded.
Turn 6: Yuto (2x cards)
Yugo stops his motorcycle and turns to Yuto. "You know why I destroyed it?" he asked. "Summon it. Clear Wing Synchro Dragon knows that you have it. It's waiting for it."
Yuto was caught on to what Yugo was talking about. "What?"
"Don't play dumb," Yugo rebuked. "I know I arrived here because my dragon guided me to it right here, the same way how it guided me to Heartland." Yasuko and Yuya were surprised, hearing Yugo's words loud and clear.
"What?" Yasuko inquired. "Heartland?"
"Does he mean that he met Yuto back at Heartland?" Yuya wondered.
"Let's finish it this time," Yugo vowed. "Go ahead! Call it out! Dark Rebellion Xyz Dragon!"
Yuto isn't too sure about it is the right move, but then it would the perfect chance to finish the duelist he encountered. "Finish it?" he inquired. Yuto hesitates at first, but he wants to find his friend, so he's going to beat Yugo.
"My turn!" Yuto draws a card from his deck.
"I overlay my Phantom Knights Ragged Glove and Silent Boots!" The gauntlet ghost and the boot ghost transform into purple lights once again to shoot in the air before falling into the galaxy portal.
"From the pitch black of darkness! The fangs of rebellion will fight all of those who are foolish enough to oppose its stupidity powers! Descend now! I Xyz Summon! Appear! Rank 4! Dark Rebellion Xyz Dragon!" Yuto Xyz Summons Dark Rebellion Xyz Dragon (ATK 2500/DEF 2000).
Dark Rebellion reappears back with its purple and turquoise scales that goes with its grey back blades and two pink glowing orbs, jaws open and roars out an ear-piercing screech to let its sharp chin bone drop as its bright gold eyes glows under the night with two purple Overlay Units floating around it.
Yasuko is witnessing the dragons. She hears their roar and the screeches to each other. She is sure that they were calling to each other. "Clear Wing and Dark Rebellion…" she uttered. At the same time, the crystal pendant on Yasuko's keychain starts to glow once the two dragons appear on the field.
Yuya watches the dragon in front of him until something pulsed through his body. He felt it getting very hotter like he's on fire. "What the—?" he grunted. "My—my body's feeling hotter than before? What gives? It's like it's on fire."
Yasuko focuses her gaze at the two dragons in front of her. She then spots Yuto having trouble adjusting something that is making him cringe in pain. He gives a small grunt at first. His eyes are closed, trying to suppress the pain. When he snaps his eyes open, it was a look that Yasuko and Yuya find it shocking.
Yuto's eyes are glowing bright purple. No pupils, just a bright purple glow. He looked hostile.
"Yuto?" Yuya wondered.
Yasuko turns to Yugo, and to her shock, he has the same reaction. His eyes are glowing bright green. His snarl is as dangerous as Yuto's growl.
"Yugo?" Yasuko inquired.
Neither of them didn't hear their names being called. They were focused on their opponents. "You wanted to finish this?" Yuto asked, sounding just as dangerous as Shun. "Fine then, let's end this here!" His voice echoes a hollow menacing ringtone. "My Dark Rebellion Xyz Dragon will destroy you…and it will destroy everything!"
Upon the declaration, something terrible happened. A very sharp, throbbing pain pierced right into Yasuko's head. She gasped in shock before the pain becomes unbearable torture. She holds her head and lets out an ear-piercing scream for the first time in her life. Her head is starting to hurt. It feels like someone was stabbing her head multiple times. The images of Dark Rebellion and Clear Wing and the shout from Yuto is triggering something inside of her head to crack open. The anguishing headache is increasing her pain in her head. The headache was so excruciating that it causes the girl to fall on her knees as she was holding her head very tight.
Yuya hears her scream and turns around to see Yasuko in pain. "Yasuko!" he panicked. Running over to help, Yuya kneels and supports her. "Yasuko! What's wrong! Yasuko! Tell me what's wrong!"
"Oh my god!" Yasuko screamed. "What the hell?! My-my head! I-It hurts!" She pushed Yuya far away, holding her head to stop the headache. "My head!" she yelled out of her lungs. "It hurts! Make it stop! Make it stop!" She can't hear what she is shouting as the pain deafened her eardrums. "Make! It! Stop!"
Yuya never saw how pained Yasuko is feeling. She was fine just a while ago, but she is now hurting with insufferable agony.
Yuto and Yugo were more focused on each other despite, ignoring the painful screaming from Yasuko. They were focused on each other, glaring with animosity.
"I activate Dark Rebellion's special effect," Yuto declared. "By using one Overlay Unit, your level 5-or-above monster's ATK points is halved, and this card gains that amount!" Dark Rebellion opens its wings and discharges purple electricity to shock Clear Wing to submission, taking away its power. "Treason Discharge!"
(Dark Rebellion Xyz Dragon: Overlay Units 2 → 1)
Yasuko continues to scream, forcing her head on the ground to stop the throbbing pain. "Damn it!" she yelled. "Make it stop!" She throws her head back, but to no avail. "It hurts! Make it stop!"
"Clear Wing Synchro Dragon's special effect activates!" Yugo countered. "When a level 5-or-above is the target of an effect, that effect is negated and the monster that activated it is destroyed!"'
While holding Yasuko to support her, Yuya turns to Yugo in shock. "No way!" he gasped. "Negate and destroy?"
The crystal plates on Clear Wing galvanizes the circuit boards inside to fuel its energy needed to break free from the monster's effect. Like a star bursting out, Clear Wing snaps the purple electricity apart and flares off a bright circuit light over to Dark Rebellion.
"I activate the Trap, Phantom Knights' Wing!" The Trap Card; Phantom Knights' Wing, flips up and deflect the circuit beam light from coming close to Dark Rebellion. "Dark Rebellion Xyz Dragon isn't destroyed, and it gains 500 ATK points!" Not only did Yuto managed to block Clear Wing's effect, but he also boosted Dark Rebellion's power.
(Dark Rebellion Xyz Dragon: ATK 2500 → 3000)
Yasuko was trying to suppress the pain in her head. "Damn it!" Yasuko grunted. "It hurts! It hurts!"
"I'll finish you…" Yuto growled. "I'll destroy you…and then…destroy everything!" Yuya is hearing how Yuto is emphasizing his word as his declaration.
"Destroy everything…" Yugo spoked. "Burn everything to dust!"
Yuya turns to Yugo. "Yugo?"
"I'll destroy everything!" Yugo and Yuto chorused together as if they are synchronizing their emotions and minds together. "I'll destroy everything!"
Yuya is getting more scared by the reaction from Yugo and Yuto. He didn't think that the duel would escalate the hostility, and what's scaring him the most is Yasuko screaming in pain. Her cry is blaring into his ears. He doesn't know what is going on with Yasuko to endure the pain. He wants to find out how he can stop it, but what can he do? None.
"Stop it!" Yuya shouted. "No, stop it! Don't use dueling to unleash your hatred!" No matter what words that Yuya shouted, it didn't convince the other two to stop the duel.
All of a sudden, Yasuko stops screaming as her arms dropped from gripping her head. Darkness descended over her vision and her numbing brain. She faints from the pain in her head and the exhaustion from her lungs. Her body shuts down and falls to the ground.
"Yasuko!" Yuya called. "No! Yasuko!" He checks on her and shakes her while calling to her. "Yasuko! Wake up! Please wake up!"
Yuya tried to revive Yasuko, but the cynical girl is out cold. She looks utterly dead in his eyes. Her own eyes are closed, completely unconscious. The sight of Yasuko's body makes Yuya's eyes twitch in shock. He was there to help her, but he cannot do anything. There was nothing more that he can do as Yasuko is now unconscious.
Yuto raises his hand. "Go and battle," he declared. "Dark Rebellion Xyz Dragon, attack—"
Yuya has had enough and sprints over to stand in front of Yuto with his arms spread open, hoping to prevent the duel from escalating even further. "Stop!" Yuya yelled. "This isn't a duel! I won't allow it!"
Yuto is still not convinced, so Yuya pressed on to try and get in through him. "Don't you get it? A duel is supposed to make people smile and become happy!" he pleaded. "It's not used as a tool of war! It's not supposed to hurt people!" Still not convinced that Yuto understands him, Yuya pushes forward. "You said it yourself! Dueling in your hometown, Heartland City, causing it to overflow with smiles! Don't you remember that?! Your people duel for smiles, and is that what you want?!"
For a few seconds, Yuto seems unresponsive for a moment. Then, something made him snapped. He blinks his eyes twice before he opens them back to revert to his grey eyes. "I…I don't know what I was thinking…" he said regretfully. "I don't want to hurt anyone anymore..."
Yuto collapsed in fatigue from whatever state he was in. Yuya supports him but stops for a momentarily. "Yuto."
"I end my turn," Yuto concluded.
Turn 7: Yugo (1x card)
"My turn!" Much to Yuya's surprise, despite Yuto breaking away from his berserk state, Yugo isn't free from it as he draws a card from his deck.
Yugo Normal Summons Speeedroid Razorang (ATK 2000/DEF 0). "I summon Speedroid Razorang from my hand!" On the field is a gold boomerang before it transforms into a mechanical humanoid with two parts as its arms and one leg.
"What are you doing!?" Yuya cried. "This has to stop!"
"No, it doesn't!" Yugo argued. "I activate Razorang's special effect! Once per turn, by switching it to Defense Position, one monster loses 300 ATK points!" The razor boomerang transforms back to its boomerang form and spins fast.
Yuya is confused about what Yugo is planning. "Dark Rebellion has 3000 ATK points," he pointed out. "Even if you lowered it…"
Yuya thinks wrong when Yugo makes use of its effect. "I use Razorang's effect to lower Clear Wing Synchro Dragon's ATK points!" he declared.
"What?" Yuya gasped.
"Clear Wing Synchro Dragon's effect activates! Since a level 5-or-above monster is targeted by a monster effect, Clear Wing negates that effect and destroys it!" The crystal circuit boards on Clear Wing glows to let the dragon flare off its light beams to destroy the razor boomerang.
"So then, you're going to stop fighting then?" Yuya asked, relieved that Yugo makes the right choice.
"Not a chance!" Yugo rebuked suddenly, shocking Yuya. "Clear Wing gains ATK points equal to the destroyed monster's ATK points!"
"No, please stop!" Yuya begged.
Clear Wing Synchro is surrounded by an aqua green aura that boosts its power to be stronger than even Dark Rebellion.
(Clear Wing Synchro Dragon: ATK 2500 → 4500)
"Let's battle!" Yugo declared. "Clear Wing Synchro Dragon, attack Dark Rebellion Xyz Dragon!" Clear Wing ascends to the night sky to let it crystal circuit boards glow in response to the power boost. Once Clear Wing is strong enough, it creates a storming whirlwind to start diving down to the dragon. "Whirlwind Hell Dive Slasher!"
Clear Wing dives like a bomber, creating a force of air currents in the front. Dark Rebellion isn't going down so easily and flies ahead over to stop the monster. The two monsters clash against each other, but Clear Wing Synchro overpowers Dark Rebellion and disperses it into dust. Clear Wing Synchro was coming in fast at Yuya. He was distracted long enough for Yuto to push him aside.
"Yuya!" Yuto called just as Clear Wing comes close—
KA-BOOOM!
The impact not only obliterated the grass area of the park, but also all of Yuto's life points'
(Yuto: LP 1300 → 0)
WINNER: Yugo
Yuya recovers as he gets back up to see the destruction of the park. The fountain was crushed in Yuto's duel with Sora, the crater at the center was formed after Yasuko's Odd-Eyes Phantom and his Odd-Eyes Pendulum battled, and now the grass area in front of him was destroyed as the result of Clear Wing's attack.
"Yuto!" Yuya called. He hurries on over to Yuto, who was lying in pain. He had his Dark Rebellion Xyz Dragon card out, knowing that he may lose it. Strangely though, his body shuts down after his duel. He cannot move his legs. It is like he's become crippled.
"Yuto! Are you okay?" As Yuya comes to support Yuto, Dark Rebellion glows in resonance with the card in Yuya's duel disk. Yuya notices the glow and looks on in surprise.
Yasuko's keychain starts to glow even brighter than before. Even to the point when Zuzu's bracelet's first glow. The night sky vanishes under the bright light illuminating from the crystal keychain from Yasuko and Yuya's pendant.
Yugo snaps himself out of his strange berserk state. He grunts in near exhaustion. "What?" he groans. "What happened? What did I do?" He wonders himself. He wants to know what happened, but his head was hurting that he cannot remember. Two bright lights caught his attention, and he turns over to sources. "What is that?"
One is where Yasuko's unconscious body is with her keychain pendant. The other is where Yuya and Yuto are at.
Somehow, Yuya and Yuto's cards form a sphere around them, turning everything inside into day. Yuto manages to regain consciousness before looking up to Yuya. "Yuto!" Yuya cried. "Hang in there!"
Yuto feels very faint. He was active for quite a while, but now he's feeling weaker. He looks at Yuya to think back about what he said to him. Everything that Yuya told him about dueling to make a smile and to make people happy is a person that he can put his faith in. To think about how Yuya wanted to make people happy with his dueling, Yuto can't help but smile as well.
His hand is shaking a little bit, but he brings up the card of Dark Rebellion Xyz Dragon. "Take this…" said Yuto. "Make people smile through your dueling…"
Yuya was taken back. Yuto is offering to give him his monster to him even though he hasn't learned how to use Xyz Summon. "Always remember…use your power, and your dueling…to bring smiles to the world and to the future."
Yuya is hesitant to take Yuto's card, knowing that it means a lot to him; however, to see that Yuto giving him his card indicates that he is trusting him to use it.
Yuya takes Dark Rebellion Xyz Dragon to his possession. "I will," said Yuya. "For you…"
Yuto nodded, giving Yuya his grateful smile before suddenly, his whole body turns bright and the entire central park under the bright white light.
Sometime later, Zuzu has been searching for Sora almost all night. She is nearly tired from running around. She comes over to the central park. Along the way, she happens to notice that some of the park was destroyed. The fountain was reduced to rumble, the grass hill was nearly destroyed, and the crater in the concrete had a big hole.
Suddenly, her bracelet starts glowing is resonating to something. Zuzu happens to notice it on the instant. "What? My bracelet is glowing?" she inquired. "Does this mean that Yuto's here?" She had to assume it was Yuto since whenever she is near Yuto, her bracelet would start glowing, but it's glowing different than it was before. Unlike its long pausing glow, the bracelet happens to be blinking rapidly before it stops.
Zuzu turns up to the park. There were two bodies at the scene of destruction. She lets in a horrific gasped at the sight of the unconscious Yasuko on the ground. "Yasuko!" she cried. Zuzu runs as fast as she can to help Yasuko. She bends over and turns the body over to make sure that she is breathing.
"Yasuko!" Zuzu called to her. "Yasuko! Are you okay? Yasuko!" There was no response. The cynical girl is still profoundly unconscious.
She looks over the second body, and to her horror, it was Yuya. "Yuya!" she called. "Yuya!" No matter how many times she called to him, Yuya didn't respond. He was out cold too. She fears whatever happens to both of them. She desperately tries to wake Yasuko up, but to no avail.
"Yasuko! Yuya!" The only noise that can be heard in the dead of the night is the pleading cry of Zuzu Hiiragi.
I like how people keep mispronouncing the Yugo's name even though it didn't sound like it. Anyways, there is all a part of my own custom story, but I won't just spoil it just yet. I bet you figure out what this all means by this point, but don't assume that conclusion just yet. There is more to than meets the eye.
Thank you for reading this chapter. I know it's not much, but I was dead tired to expand this one further. Maybe in the next chapter, I will try to make it more interesting. I get that this duel was kinda boring if you've felt like it is, but I like to write good stories at with the best of my writing abilities. I promise that I will do better in the next one. And this is essentially important for my main character as the story goes on.
