Chapter 48 Loss and Gain

In one of the tallest towers in Tokyo a man with greying hair sits behind an extremely large vintage wooden table making his way through a stack of papers and sighed

"Are you sure you want to do this?" he enquired softly

"Yes I'm completely sure this is what I want" Saena said firmly "I need to be sure that legally speaking I can't be connected to her and if what I saw this morning was anything to go by it has to be now , really I should of done it years ago but I suppose I was hoping that I would never have to deal with this possibility"

" alright then just sign at the bottom of these pages and you will relinquish all parental rights and when you sign theses you'll transfer all trusts to Kyoko Mogami and this is for the deeds to the apartment in Nakameguro and lastly this is the nondisclosure agreement

Saena quickly took hold of the pen and signed page after page

"is that everything" she asked

"Yes, for now. I'll see that these are delivered to her personally today and then I will contact you if there is anything more that needs doing."

Saena nodded "well then I shall leave this in your capable hands"

Jin gathered all the document into a large orange envelope and nodded as she stood and left his office.

"Gen, I'm going out" he stated as he passed his light-haired assistant "I should be back before 2"

"Yes sir"

Jin moved swiftly down the hall to the elevator and out of the building, headed left and kept walking until he arrived at the large building that housed LME.

He walked up to the counter and smiled "hello I'm Jin Takido of Takido and Co lawyers and I'm looking for Kyoko Mogami"

Kyoko looked around the studio as she stepped off the stage and smiled as she saw Ren sitting with Chiori and Kuu eating from the bento boxes that must have been delivered for the staff while she was performing her time line.

"where did you get that" she asked as she walk up to the group.

"they were at the back, but I think they will be gone now, mainly because this one took like half of them. But I saved you one" Ren said as he passed a black bento box to her.

"thank you." Kyoko said as she sat down beside him.

Shingai walked over to them "Kuu, Ren, Chiori, Kyoko I need you all to get ready for wedding scene"

They all nodded and moved from where they sat and headed toward the dressing room.

Kyoko finished eating her lunch and walked over to where Shingai was watching the crew set up the final touches to the staging area. Kyoko breathed in it looked beautiful there was a spiral staircase with golden railing which lead to an entrance hall that had twenty rows of wooden benches that sat before an archway covered in flowers.

Kyoko felt a hand slide onto her back "it is rather pretty isn't it" he whispered into her ear Kyoko felt her body warm and the tingle ran along up her spine "yes, it is" she agreed.

Ren lent in close and placed a quick kiss on her neck. "but you are the most beautiful thing in this room"

Kyoko blushed and stepped back to press her body against his, Ren ran his hand down her arm unable to stop himself from touching her.

Kyoko stepped away from him when she heard footsteps heading towards them and beamed excitedly as she watched Chiori approach in a white floor length dress she that was corseted with lace and as she walked the skirt shimmered.

"you look so pretty" Kyoko said as she grabbed Chiori hands and bounced happily with the other girl. Her joy infecting everyone around her.

"Yes, and it feels heavenly" Chiori replied happily.

Shingai walked up to them "okay everyone takes your places" everyone started making their way to their marks.

Shingai smile "Action"

Seriyu stood beside Leo as he watched the guest arriving and taking their seats everyone in town and most of the country seem to be here everyone but the one person he needed to see. Two months had passed since Misaki had disappeared. "Seriyu, she's not coming son, please can you go see if your sister needs anything." Seriyu glared at him but nodded and stormed off up the staircase.

Leo watched sadly as his son disappeared up the stairs.

"Hello Leo, you must be very happy for your daughter" greeted Venus who walked in with Mina and Andrew.

"Yes, he nodded guilty "very happy."

Venus started to move when Leo grabbed her arm, he looked around making sure that Costi family was not within hearing distance

"have you heard anything about Misaki" he whispered Venus eyes flared with anger

"like you care ,you sent her away made her feel like she was nothing , so your precious innocent little Tati could marry into one of the wealthiest and most annoying families in town and believe me I get it but she was my girl and I haven't seen her in three months ,haven't heard from her, for all I know she could be dead , so you can take your fake concern and leave us alone ." Venus snapped her arm from his hold and walked to her seat.

Leo nodded and walked up the stairs to get to his daughter. he stopped suddenly when he heard a noise coming from the down the hall.

"hello" he called "is someone there?" he moved along the hall till he came to a door "hello"

He called again as he opened the door and stepped into a room which had a glass window with a curtain pulled halfway closed and a piano with a woman sat on the bench that was placed near the window.

"Misaki" he whispered.

"shhhhhhhhhh" she said as she put her finger to her lips and looked toward the door with a pointed look. Leo nodded and closed it as softly as possible

"Misaki, where have you been" he whispered

" around" she smiled gently at him , "please don't tell anyone you saw me ,I just wanted to see her wedding you know" she looked down at the crowd below "it's probably selfish of me but I feel like I'm super connected to this wedding ,like I need it to happen because if it doesn't nothing matters at all" she pause for a minute and bought her hand down to her over her stomach "well almost nothing" she whispered .

Leo looked at her "is it Seriyu?" he asked already knowing the answer.

"that does not matter, not right now anyway. Shouldn't you be going I mean the groom just arrived and there's Seriyu. So that only leaves the beloved bride to come and I believe your supposed to be getting her."

"yes, I suppose I am "

Misaki smiled at him "well then get to it"

Leo nodded and walked to the door "Misaki, will you please stay here until I come back I would very much like to talk to you"

"okay"

He quickly left shutting the door firmly behind him and then running to Tati dressing room

"Sorry Honey just got a bit distracted; you look lovely. I am so proud of you my darling girl. I love you and I want you to know that if you ever want to come home your always welcome"

Tati eye welled with tears "Dad stop, you'll make me mess up my makeup." She reached over and hugged him.

"shall we" Leo said as he offered her his arm and they both started walking down the hallway to the stairs ,they slowly descended until they reached the ground floor where all the eyes in the room turn toward them .They slowly walk toward the archway that was covered in flowers .

Seriyu stood beside Costi and watched his sister as she pledged herself to Costi for the rest of her life and a sudden surge of jealousy filled him , why did Tati get to be with Costi , when he didn't get to be with Misaki , seven months since he held her, seven long unbearable months , three without even being able to see her, hear about her.

The clapping and cheering awoke Seriyu from his dark thoughts as he watched his sister wrap her arms around her husband and kiss him.

They walked back down the isle and outside the doors towards the awaiting vehicle.

Tati waved happily to everyone as she was driven off. Leo smiled and released a breath safely married now. his eyes moved upwards toward the room that he knew contained the love of his son's life and the child that she carried.

"Seriyu I'm just going to pop upstairs for a bit, do you think you can handle the guest on your own for a while"

"yes, I can keep the vultures entertained until you get back" he answered, before Leo could walk away Seriyu grab his arm

'Dad I haven't forgotten your promise, the wedding is done you said you'd tell me what the problem was getting this event."

"Yes, I know, I'll tell you soon."

Seriyu shook his head "no not soon, today as soon as everyone is gone"

"yes, okay as soon as everyone is gone. Now please go and do as I asked "Leo snapped before turning around and heading up the stairs two at a time. He rushed to the room hoping that she hadn't ran. He let out a relieved breath when he saw her still sitting there.

"Thank you for staying"

"I couldn't leave anyway, not until everyone else had left the building not if I don't want to be seen, which I don't"

"what are you going to do?" he asked with curiosity

" I'm going to go home and live my life ,I was going to give the child away to a family that could raise it better than I could but I just don't know anymore ,I have managed to set up a fairly good place for myself ,it's nothing fancy but it is still better than how I grow up. I don't know"

"Where is your home, can I come visit you and the baby"

"I'm not sure that's a good idea"

"please that my grandchild, if I can't visit, I understand it is my fault after all that things have turned out this way but please let me tell Seriyu about it."

"it isn't your fault Leo , it was always going to end up like this .Seriyu would never of married me ,he probably would have ended up married to some heiress and would of kept me in some small apartment where I would wait for him to visit me every now and then until it became too complicated or his wife found out or even more likely he just stopped loving me .It was never going to be a happily ever after . you just save us some time"

Misaki wiped the tears from her eyes

"that's not true Misaki ,it can be a happily ever after , he loves you, please just let me tell him I've seen you at least ,you need to talk to him he has a right to know he has a child coming into the world"

"He thinks I'm a whore, he told me, he told everyone. that was the last thing he said to me and you have no right to tell me what I must do. I have already done everything you asked of me, so please just leave me alone."

Misaki stormed out the room and ran as fast as she could out of the building.

Seriyu looked up as he heard a bang from above he turned his head away from the young minster that was talking to him as he collected a bottle of wine and saw a flash as a woman who look familiar to him but who was now too far away to be clearly seen .his breath left him and the wine dropped from his hand

"Misaki"

But the figure was completely gone he look back to the venue he had just seen her run from and headed towards it straight into the building he had been in for the better part of the day the building his father was in.

He watched as his father came down the stairs looking not like the happy father you would have expected on the day of his daughter wedding but more like a defeated soldier he looks up at his son.

"I'm sorry" he whispered

Seriyu looked and asked, "was that Misaki I saw running from here, was that Misaki?"

Leo just nodded

"Did you know she was here"

Leo nodded again

"why didn't you tell me she was here ,you know I've been going crazy with worry ,why didn't you tell me , why did you send me to look after the guest .what is going on"

I'm sorry Seriyu, she wanted to watch the wedding but didn't want anyone to know she was here"

"I'm not anyone, why didn't you tell me."

"because I'm the reason she left you, I asked her to leave you because Costi family refused to allow him to marry Tati if you were involved with her."

"you did what"

"I was hoping it would all work out, that after the wedding things could somehow get back on track. That Tati could have Costi and I that you could begin again with Misaki, I didn't realise the damage I did until it was too late"

Seriyu look at his father in compete horror "where is she"

Leo shook "I don't know, she wouldn't tell me"

Seriyu glared at Leo "all this time, if you had told from the start about Costi family maybe we could have come up with something together, anything would have been better than this"

"Yes, I know but she was my daughter and I couldn't bare to see her unhappy. Misaki was just some stranger I didn't know who was stopping my daughter from being happy and keeping my son away from his family"

"she was the best thing in my life"

Leo look at Seriyu "don't you think I know that now, I regret it ,believe me I regret it ,I'm going to be a grandfather but I'll never see that child because of this but at the time it was the only thing I could think to do"

Seriyu look at his father in shock "child?"

Leo looked down at his hand guilt overwhelming him. "yes, Misaki is pregnant

"Cut" yelled Shingai "and that's a wrap for the day, thank you all for your hard work. I'll see you tomorrow"
