Guest and ArtemisLuna85 – Agree with both of you, but Damon wouldn't be Damon if he wasn't pissed at someone for not doing something to help Elena….

It didn't take long, a few minutes at most till she found Carol in mid conversation. Tilting her head, she saw the person she was talking to.

"Oh, God."

"Ah, Sabrina!" Carol waved, ushering the girl in.

"I would introduce you two, but-"

"Sabrina and I have had some time to get to know each other quite well," Klaus said with a smile. "The topic if work never did come up, I must say I am surprised."

Mrs. Lockwood opened her mouth to begin explaining but wasn't able to by Damon interjecting. "Look at what the cat dragged in. Nice vest."

Klaus kept up the pretence. "Thank you very much, good to see you, Damon. Carol and I were discussing about whether you would be the other big benefactor."

"What do you say Damon? Klaus has made a very generous pledge. You know how we're chomping at the bit to begin the renovation." Carol took a sip of her wine. Damon hummed in acknowledgment.

"Carol, don't take this the wrong way, but do you realize that you've been kissing the ass of an immortal hybrid who ruined your son's life?"

"Oh, come now. Some would say that I saved it from all that nasty full moon business." Klaus turned to Carol. "I've never had to go through it myself more than twice, to be honest, but still, I'm very sympathetic."

"Klaus has promised to protect Tyler, Damon. And our town," she told him.

Sabrina could help but scoff at the way Klaus manipulated her.

"I'm sorry Carol, but you're seriously not buying this are you? It's his hybrids that the town needs protection from. Haven't you noticed hybrid minion number 5 standing behind you, giving you secret killer vibes?" Carol's head turned back to the man standing behind them.

"No need to be so dramatic Sabrina. I'd have no use for them if Stefan would kindly return my family."

"Not gonna happen," Damon pipped in.

"That's what I thought," he began facing Carol once again. "Which is why I've come to an agreement with the Mayor. You and the Council stay out of my hair, I stay out of yours. Your town gets protected, my hybrids get left alone and everybody will be happy."

He stopped to watch Damon and Sabrina's reaction. "All you have to do is to get Stefan to stop decapitating my friends."

"Please Damon, just get your brother under control, or the Council will be forced to take action against him."

Damon looked surprise to see the Mayor take Klaus' side "You've gotta be kidding me!

"Oh come on mate. Give peace a chance," Klaus said with a grin as Mrs. Lockwood walked away.

Sabrina was now left with two people who she felt didn't want her in their presence. Damon and Klaus didn't break eye contact. They both held each other's gaze, the feel around them growing tense. Not wanting to be a part of it she turned and walked away.

"Penny for your thoughts?" Sabrina lifted her head to see the face of the hybrid perched on the arm of the sofa she was sat on. "Never did take you for a council woman."

"Didn't Carol tell you? This is my punishment for my momentary lapse in judgment which led me to choose to spend the summer with you," she snapped taking another sip.

Klaus chuckled. "Wouldn't it be more accurate to say you chose to spent it with Elijah."

Sabrina lowered her head again at the mention of his name. "Speaking of which, I'm surprised you're not making more of a fuss knowing that Stefan has him hidden somewhere. Unless..." he trailed on.

She wasted no time in getting up from the sofa to walk away, but didn't get too far as Klaus grabbed hold of her wrist.

"Let go of me," she said in a hushed voice as she turned around.

"Don't you think you owe it to me to tell me where they are after you lied to me about Mikael?"

"I had no choice. You wouldn't come back to Mystic Falls if we didn't lie."

Klaus smiled and nodded in agreement. "And here I am, so if you think I won't retaliate, you and your friends are sadly mistaken." He dropped her wrist but still stood inches away from her.

"I know. You would go to the ends of the earth for your family, but I can't tell you where they are. I've done enough to earn the anger of my friends," the latter was said in a small whisper.

Klaus tilted his head unsure of what she meant. "The coffin locked with a spell," she sighed.

There was a change of emotion in Klaus' eyes a she spoke. "They want to open it, Bonnie thinks it's a way to kill you."

"Does she now?" he mused. "And do you know how to open it?"

"No, but I what's inside."

The smile began to creep back onto his face. "And you won't tell them?" she shook her head.

"We need to talk, Klaus" Their eyes shifted to Damon who interrupted the conversation once again.

"I'm a little busy right now mate."

"It's about Elena." Catching Klaus' attention he looked at the vampire. Sabrina's head turned to Damon making brief eye contact with her but it quickly moved back to Klaus. "Alone."

Klaus followed Damon, leaving Sabrina left standing alone.

"What just happened?"

"Did you just bite me?"

"Get away from me!"

"Stop the car, Stefan!"

"I'm gonna drive your blood source off Wickery Bridge."

"You won't kill her"

"I just fed her my blood. No more hybrids if she's a vampire"

"Stop the car, Stefan!"

Sabrina bust in through the doors of the empty room at the Founder's Hall. She was panting, indicating her rush to find the two that looked at her in confusion.

"What part of alone didn't you understand?"

"Shut up, Damon." She ran past him to Klaus. "You need to get your hybrid out of town," she told him urgently.

"Damon's already tried, but like I said to him Stefan wouldn't do anything to harm Elena," he said finding amusement in her tone.

She looked at him with disbelief and anger. "Stefan's going to drive Elena off Wickery Bridge if you don't do what he wants."

The information garnered a verbal reaction from Damon while Klaus stood stoic. "What?"

"Do something!" she yelled at the hybrid.

She watched him turn to leave at her command. Damon turn to follow but Sabrina walked over to him stopping him.

"It'll all work out if you don't interfere, Damon."

He saw her worried expression calm down as she let go of him. "But you might want to be there for the aftermath."

He nodded. "Thank you, Sabrina." She gave him a small smile before he left.

The council party was reaching its end. The numbers of attendees began to decrease and the staff began packing up. Sabrina walked through the grounds to avoid being an inconvenience inside.

"Shouldn't you be getting back to my brother?"

"I've got time. He's opted for the long game," she replied as they two walked towards each other. "Besides, Mrs. Lockwood still need to talk to me about something."

He nodded before walking past her to head back inside.

"I suppose I should tell you that Tyler did bite Caroline." He stopped in his tracks and turned back to her. "She doesn't deserve to die Klaus, especially not on her birthday."

Truthfully she wasn't looking forward to be back in the old witches' house. The taste of being outside after a whole day of being confided with in the dark and dust made it harder to return, but seeing the open coffin laying inside the room reminded her why she decided to stay. With a smile she stepped into the basemen room.

It was no longer decaying and old. The step forward took her to the foyer of the Gilbert House. Her smile grew seeing the man she'd been waiting for standing less than a meter away from her. She ran to him, wrapping her arms around his neck, tip toing to reach up.

"I haven't seen you in a while, I thought something was wrong." Elijah mumbled into her hair.

"There's been some minor difficulties." She looked at the confusion on his face as they parted. "I'll explain once you're fully awake."

"Something is upsetting you," he gathered by looking at her. She wouldn't answer.

Elijah began fiddling with a piece of her hair, Sabrina's hand reached up to stop the movement. "I wouldn't let them kill Klaus and I won't tell them that Esther is in the sealed coffin."

He listened as she resumed. "I know no matter what Klaus does to you, you will always stand with him because he's your brother and I wouldn't be able to live with myself knowing I hurt if I played a role in his downfall."

He smiled, dropping her hair and lifting her chin. "Not long now," he said.

Sabrina found herself back in the basement, stood in front of his coffin. She watched with a smile as his right index finger slightly twitched.
